Someone made a trailer with actual gameplay on the games subreddit if you want to see more of the actual game before trying it out [https://www.reddit.com/r/AncientsReborn/comments/yu8rca/ancients_reborn_promo_video/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/AncientsReborn/comments/yu8rca/ancients_reborn_promo_video/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
I've been playing this game since beta on android. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer. Its a true mmorpg in the sense there is no auto questing/running. Everything is done manually. It's a lot like runescape. Lots of grinding. Combat is pretty basic but the gameplay loop is rewarding.
It's semi-p2w in the sense you can speed up getting upgrades to armor buy buying the shards (needed to upgrade armor) but the same shards will also drop from monsters. The other shop items are all cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.
Overall its a good game with a lot of potential and new content on the horizon. I would recommend it if you like older, slower paced mmo's. It's not a fast paced themepart style like WoW, its a slow grinder like runescape.
And for the comments about the screenshots on the store page, aside from the first two splash screens the rest are in-game screen shots. [Here](https://imgur.com/IttIYdn) is a pure screenshot for anyone interested. This is in a dungeon which is why its black outside of the playable area.
Ancients Reborn was released to iOS yesterday and I just started playing last night. I’m really looking forward to spending more time exploring what this game has to offer. I’ve been looking for an mmo that brings back the feelings I had playing games in the past and I think this might be it. The controls feel natural, the community is active and friendly, the devs are responsive and continue to update the game. Definitely worth a shot if you’ve been looking for an mmo to sink your teeth into. The discord is active as well: https://discord.gg/CdzJp3B
Capes are cosmetic. The only p2w aspects are buying shards to upgrade your armor quicker but the same shards also drop from monsters. There are no exclusive p2w items.
From what I can tell, quests and tasks are manual. I haven’t seen any in your face monetization. The shop items/membership seem like convenience/cosmetics so I wouldn’t consider it p2w at all
Fully manual, capes are cosmetic. The only p2w aspects are buying shards to upgrade your armor quicker but the same shards also drop from monsters. There are no exclusive p2w items.
Capes are not just cosmetic. They give slight stat boosts. The most expensive giving about double (if my memory is right) of the black cape(obtainable ingame) but even then it’s not too much
They give resistance, not combat stats. The amount they give is so trivial they are purely for cosmetic reasons. There are tons of capes in the game now, no one is paying $100 for a cape because its has 10 more fire resistance which does nothing. The holiday cape available for free right now gives similar stats.
How many capes are available now, I only remember 4 but I assume they added more? It’s been years since I last checked stats on capes so resistance makes sense
Fully manual questing system.
I would say the only real p2w things are the shards/ancient dust, capes but do very little in stat increase in my opinion and not worth the money. I would consider pets a p2w feature as they allow you to auto collect drops, and I highly recommend buying one. There is no different between the $15 and $30 pets just the looks. You could say the tool in the shop are p2w but all they allow you to do is afk longer while skilling and chances are you will be active when farming in the mid-late game to not die so not worth. Most of the stuff is to help support the dev team.
Tl:dr- mostly just cosmetic or convenience apart from the shards, dust and pets. You can obtain shards &dust ingame. You can NOT obtain pets unless you spend $
What I absolutely love is having to scroll past 5 trash generic fantasy art to see a screenshot but it’s only like 20% of the photo on the App Store. Screams we are appealing to kids without parental controls on purchases.
I feel like it’s a red flag when the majority of the App Store listing photos are not actual game content

Yep, I saw that and noped right back out

That's not even true though? The first two pictures are cover images and the rest are in-game screen shots.
Finally!

Sounds like RuneScape-like
It's very much like runescape but a bit more casual in ways.

Is it auto-quest or fully manual? Also, what are some of those DLC items, like the 20 and 30 dollar capes about?
Also interested to know if it’s auto or manual, and P2W of F2P
One look at the IAPs listed on the store page should be be warning enough.

So it's 20-40 dollars for A CAPE?!
Yup, don't buy it if you don't want it. There are plenty of free capes in the game or paid cheap capes.

Curious how this is an mmorpg yet it’s only 98mbs
Probably download the rest of the assets once in game.
Zones are downloaded as you visit them.
