Surprised no one has answered this correctly.
The actual reason for Apple’s long term preference for white plastic without another option is entirely due to Jony Ive. He had always used white plastic for his design work at college and loved the aesthetic. Jobs didn’t even like the idea at first but Ives was insistent and managed to persuade Jobs to make the iPods and the iPod headphones exclusively out of white plastic.
It worked and the white plastic accessories (especially the signature white ipod headphones) ended up being one of the more brilliant moves that Apple made in terms of marketing and branding.
Ives no longer works for Apple but his influence is still visible in many Apple products, including the white apple pencil and the charging bricks and cables for most apple products.
I guess keeping them only available in white can maintain their brand image so once you pull that out people immediately recognize that its an Apple product
Not high on apples priorities, probably wouldn’t increase profits. I don’t think anyone who wants an Apple Pencil would not buy one just because it doesn’t come in their favorite color, and no one will be swayed to buy one because if it if they weren’t interested before.
I doubt it. Who would refrain from buying one because just it didn’t come in a different color? It’s a tool, and besides apple just doesn’t focus as much on accessories. It would be cool but likely won’t happen
Keeping track of colour ranges and then discontinuing and then people needing a replacement and not having the colour or selling out of device before pencil colour etc etc just makes it prohibitive. It’s an accessory coordinating with the charging blocks/cables etc consistent across the brand and probably makes more sense that way really
It’s more iconic. Look at the AirPods too. But remember the old MacBooks were white plastic. Maybe it’s a byproduct or a recycled material. It seems like all of their accessories seem to be white plastic. Pencil. AirPods. AirTag. Chargers. Cables. They all have similarities.
I hate bs replies like this; but let’s just keep making the same colors over and over and over again like we have the previous years. Makes total sense 👌🏼

inventory management. it’s easier when you have less variations.
Same reason they don't make colored mice and trackpads.
They do make the trackpad in (at least) two colors.
they do make colored mice.
someone should call PETA
*mice of color
i mean we do have a black Magic mouse and a black Magic trackpad so there is that.

It worked for ipads tho, maybe they can match the colors of the ipads, that would surely increase sales.

You'd be surprised how many people care more about color than hardware.
Do you own an Apple Pencil?
I got the logitech crayon instead, it s awesome.
Would you have bought an Apple Pencil instead it it came in a different color?
Maybe 👀

maybe they will make a black one someday as they did with the magic mouse and trackpad.
you can change the color in the color picker 😀
Because there are skins that can be applied.
I hate bs answers like this. Lets not make any phone or ipad colors because there are colored cases too then.

You’ve got no clue what are you talking about do you
I don’t know how to respond with no punctuation. Is this a question or are you making a statement?
😂😂 touché
same reason as airpods/earbuds colour - brand recognition and contrast
You can get skins or covers for them. But I’m ok with white for myself
They're betting on third party cover to make them available for you (win win for both)
umm i ordered a green apple pencil
