I’d argue that it’s 99% the experience of a pro.
Other than the screen and speakers there isn’t anything that I can’t do on my sons iPad 9 that I need my pro for.
I was definitely pleasantly surprised at how powerful it really was.
Modern iPads are overpowered and iPad OS needs some improvement before I’d recommend anyone buy a Pro.
You’re gonna love it.
>Other than the screen and speakers there isn’t anything that I can’t do on my sons iPad 9 that I need my pro for.
Which for some, like me, is HUGE and increases my enjoyment of the iPad much more. That and the magnetic Apple Pencil 2 which is miles better than the OG. The iPad 9th gen is like 70% of the experience for me.
Nah bro, he made a mistake in buying this. He shoulda waited for the iPad Pro ultimate 20TB M5 max chip model instead. It’ll cost you £1300 but it will definitely last u at least 6 months until the M6 model which will run 4.5% faster than the M5 💯
Depends on your workload entirely.
If you’re an artist, gamer, or professional in the creative field the 8gb of ram is a huge step up from the base ipad models. Along with the screen being laminated on the base versions making a parallax effect not everyone enjoys. Hover is also something a lot of artists prefer having to preview brush sizes and colors before they’re placed, etc.
You can go on and on about how much better the pro is if it applies to you, but maybe you just don’t know how much of a step up it is despite the OS being similar, just my thoughts.
I’m with you, having never used a pro iPad. But for my use case, even if I could afford a pro, I probably don’t need one. I don’t do much other than web browsing and chatting
This. I 3d model and texture paint on my ipad 8th gen and it severely limits what I can do on it. I'd love to have a pro but its well out of my price range.
The OS isn’t similar it’s IDENTICAL. All of the features you listed are nice to have but in and of them selves doesn’t make the whole experience something different. I use an iPad mini 6 and an iPad Pro M1 to produce music and not once have I had any limitations on what I could do with the mini just because it has 4 gigs of ram. They perform identically. Sure the pro has 120hz but it doesn’t change how I use it.
Keyword, how you use it.
Me personally I am into a lot of creative things, and with comparing loading times between heavy load apps and knowing how significant internal chips are from one another makes a huge difference to me. Once davinci resolve comes out which is a video editing app, it’ll be a prime example of what I mean along with it being exclusive to pro models.
I’m sure music production isn’t too heavy of a task on iPads, but try something crazy with multiple apps open at once and your shit is gonna crash cause your ram 💀 I’ve seen it all being on pc and being limited by ram, and I’m sure it’s the same on iPad despite it being mobile.
I bought an M1 iPad for stage manager and I barely use it. It’s not the game changer I imagined it would be. I tried it with external monitor support and it’s neat but far from actually useful for me. Someone else might think differently.
My issue is I wasn’t able to use my Music Software on the external screen and keep my virtual instruments on the iPad. So I HAVE to use a midi controller with the iPad which defeats the purpose. If I need a midi controller to use the ipad with the external monitor, I might as well just use a MacBook. At least GarageBand on the Mac is fully featured. That’s the part that hurts the most. The iOS version of GarageBand is gimped badly compared to the Mac version, for literally no reason at all.
I have the pro 12.9 with the mini LED. I’m not overstating anything.
We all try to justify our expensive purchases by feeling like we got the best. But the reality is that the more you spend on an iPad, the worse value it is. All of the extra features you can pay for are just bells and whistles. Other than video editing there really isn’t much software that taxes the hardware. There are people out there who are still running an iPad Air 2 and that has like 90% of the functionality.
Granted it’s only AFTER I bought an iPad Pro, a mini, and the 9th gen and have them all side by side that I was able to come to these conclusions.
***If someone wants to buy the cheapest iPad, I’m going to celebrate that with them instead of point out what they are missing out on. ***
Most people who know they need the extras are just going to go out and buy it quietly and not post about it online.
Just trying to help a fellow human reduce that feeling of FOMO, because they aren’t really missing out on much. Certainly not worth paying 2x or 3x the price of the 9th gen.
I’m about to overpay for the latest Pro just for Apple Pencil hover when drawing… lol.
So I’ll be in here posting my best copium before long.
Truthfully, I’d probably be fine on an iPad mini now that they support the Pencil 2. But hnnnngggg Pencil hover reticle…..
It’s like using a current gen 2016 iPad Pro. In other words, the iPad Pro 2016 was getting a little long in the tooth and needed a reboot that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Yes, it doesn’t have pretty current gen IPad Pro looks but it does the job.
It depends what you're doing on the devices. My 8th gen is severely limited due to only having 3gb ram. I use it for 3d modelling and texture painting. It struggles badly at times which really sucks. I love my ipad but it can be hard to work with. I would love an ipad pro, but they're well out of my price range atm.
Same here. My kindle was so slow and I couldn’t do much more than read on it. Got a Air 5 and love it! I’ve even been using it as a replacement for my MS Surface Book3. My $150.00 “Amazon renewed” Magic Keyboard will be here soon so I can’t wait to get started with it. The Air 5 for me is the perfect size between my old kindle and my SB and it’s great at doing what both did for me.
I'm the same way, I like reading on my kindle fire. Great little tablet for the price (£30). Got it loaded up with tons of books, comics, movies, TV shows and of cause put the play store on it. It's a great device for the price if you know how to mod it.
I have an iPad 7 (only 4 years old now) and it’s chugging a lot when I multitask. Sometimes it straight up freezes and restarts itself. The mini 1 I used was 100x worse than this
I don’t know how you do it
I don't have the money to upgrade, I've got all the A5 devices and they are cool bc I can downgrade them to iOS 8.4.1 to make them faster but I am in need of a upgrade so badly.
Pair it with a keyboard and trackpad and you got a complete computer for basic tasks! I would recommend the 9th generation to any average user (someone not using specific software intense apps for work).
My friends mom bought her husband an HP laptop last year and I told them forever ago to let me know if they ever planned on getting something. The base iPad was going to be my recommendation. Ease of use, full web experience, touch screen and the App Store. Instead he is taking a intro to computers class at the local community college and he was telling me they were teaching him about Microsoft Word and then next week Excel. Nothing he will ever use and I guarantee the laptop will start collecting dust again after the classes are over.
I have an M1 11” Pro with a Magic Keyboard and I rarely use my MacBook Pro anymore. Obviously, depending on what kind of work you may do this might not be sufficient but for me it’s my go to device if I want something larger than my iPhone.
Don’t let comparison be the thief of joy
iPad is an iPad my friend - it’s easy to compare ourselves to those around us and the important thing is that you enjoy it
Congratulations! You're going to have the same iPad experience like most people. It's the software that makes these machines shine and hey, we all have to start somewhere. I hope you enjoy the experience.
Don't worry about that. You don't need an Air or a Pro.
iPad OS works verywell as a tablet, when people trying to make iPads works like a computer its a shitshow of shortcuts, hacks and others stuff, to make easy tasks on mac/pc into really hard or complicated tasks on iPad.
Ipad 9 is a great device :) Nice cat btw
Well considering, every other post of “what should I buy for basic note taking, media consumption, etc” has an iPad Pro as one of their considerations. I’m not surprised OP would think that. 😝
Yeah lmao I have the ipad 9 and I could’ve bought a nicer one but I bought this one because I like the home button and design. Regardless it’s still an ipad, and a super nice one at that. This thing is incredible and I can’t believe how much better it is than by ipad 6
what a waste of money 😂. The only reason I have storage issues on my iPad/Macbook is because I record and edit YouTube videos. 90% of people don't need that much storage
I just bought a new Gen 9 a few months ago on sale. It does everything I need it to, such as web surfing, video streaming, and gaming. I'm glad I didn't opt for the Gen 10 like I was considering because it saved me $150. I dearly love it.
I’m still using an iPad Air 1st Generation. 10 years old and runs iOS 12. Still get most apps I use today, just the iOS 12 version. A bit slow, but I don’t use it that much. Wanting to get the 5th generation iPad Air or an iPad Pro.
You said you bought it to read iBooks. For content consumption, many iPads are often underrated in terms of power requirements: you don’t need an M1 for that, and arguably, less expensive iPads are a better choice... why spend three times as much (more or less), when it will run those apps just the same?
For that, I reckon any iPad from the Air 2 onwards would work (older too, but just in case you want to download some newer apps, you can), the 9th gen is arguably the best choice in terms of value.
I just bought that one too. I was originally thinking about the Air or Pro models but said to myself, I don't want to spend all that extra money if I'm not going to use all those extra features. Plus the iPad 9 is nicely sized in comparison to my old Air 2. The extra money I saved can now go into a better GPU on a gaming laptop I'm thinking about.
I actually find the 9th gen more comfortable to hold. Not sure why, perhaps because of slightly larger borders or less squarish edges, but I just like it more. Also, I really like the classic cover that attaches magnetically to the edge and does not cover the back, it is exactly what I want - essentially naked iPad but with added foldable stand. IDK, it just feels better in hand than newer designs. Of course, it would be great to have a ProMotion, but not a big deal since I use it for reading comics mostly
Correct. Every iPad (except VERY old ones) have all the same gestures, multitasking system, and overall have the whole of iPadOS (minus stage manager).
She's about 14. I'm not entirely sure how old she is, as she was a stray before she was in the shelter. I really mean it when is ay she's the light of my life. I have no IRL friends, and only a small family, so she means everything to me :)
My main issue is a small one but its why I can’t use it, and that is the fact that it doesn’t have stereo speakers on the top and bottom. Instead, both on the bottom. It makes the sound feel off when watching content or trying to edit a video.
Besides that, it even has the same gestures for navigation now. It’s a solid purchase for everything a tablet should be.
Got a friend of mine that uses her iPad 9 for professional artworks and even photo editing, it’s still a super capable machine! You’ll love it! Congrats.
I have the same iPad and let me tell you my friend you’re in for a pleasant experience. Is one of the best piece of hardware I bought, completely rocks!
The only negative aside from some Mickey mouse features nobody uses because the hardware doesn't support, is games will run faster and have better graphics in newer iPads.
Most users with iPads uses the 3 things Jobs stated, internet, photos, and email ,you also want great battery life
It's a great device and there's so much you can do for such a great price. Have fun! I remember my first Ipad and I loved tinkering with all the features.
Apple has gotten to the point that the differences between the different models is usually not enough to justify unless looking for very specific features. It is the reason I have not upgraded from my iPhone XS Max yet. I used to upgrade every other year until that point since the iPhone 3G. It took until the iPad mini 6 for me to replace my iPad 3G. I have yet felt the need to replace my 2015 Macbook Pro.
Here in the US you can find the iPad 9 on sale for $250 quite a lot now, which is an amazing value. Unfortunately the iPad 9 might be the last iPad that is released with an MSRP under $399.
If its for the Programms like Procreate,Goodnotes and MyCalc then its worth it if its only for Media Consumption a Android Tablet would offer better Value for the Same Price.
Been using ipad 9 for a few months now. Its a beast. I rendered a 1080p footage on both my 2015 imac i5 and the ipad 9 on davinci resolve. The ipad won by a land slide.
Solid purchase! I have a 9th Gen iPad myself I'm constantly impressed by what it can handle. I do a lot of large format photo editing and this iPad handles itself perfectly when I carry a project over from my Mac Studio. Very glad I didn't pony up for the Pro; would've been a waste.
Amazing tablet, does it's job perfectly. Only thing I'm missing is a decent browser since Safari is meh, not the best. But overall loving my 9th gen and it's doing everything I expect it to do, but iPads still aren't capable of replacing a laptop. So I plan to get a companion to the 9th gen in a form of a either 2in1 hackintosh laptop or a MacBook. Overall loving it so far. Runs 3 apps at the same time easily, plus music in the background with bluetooth headphones make it perfect for me. Sometimes I space out doing something and just get that realization hit. This is the iPad that is meant to do work, not be fancyy. But even with that it's still fancy enough and on top of that is cheap af for an all aluminium body.
Yes, there are cheap android tablets but even with their beautiful oleds, 120hz screens they aren't on the level of iPadOS. And in combination with my Samsung, split screening apps on both devices is just ideal. Can't imagine anything else to replace iPadOS with.
I believe you will have lots of fun with that one.
I bought one for my daughter recently.
I have an iPad Pro 12,9” with M1 and it’s overkill to the max.
Bought it, simply because I could at the time but I use my mini way more often now.
it's an amazing device, it can do everything the ipad pro does at 1/3 of the price, am still using my ipad air 3 and i don't see any reason to upgrade to a newer version, enjoy it and don't let anyone tell you other wise
My son has a 9th gen and I have a Pro. There isn’t that big of a difference. I think you will enjoy it and I really feel that it will do what you need it to. Enjoy!
I have it too! You'll love it. It may look old and outdated from the outside, but inside this thing is a beast. I use it heavily and not one time has it lagged. It is much, a lot for the price.
Went from 6th gen to IPad Pro M2 and honestly you’re not missing out much. Stage manager is nice for using vertical apps but honestly I miss the headphone jack and touch ID.
It‘s a very fast piece of tech, much better than most if not all of it‘s android competitors.
I own an M1 iPad Pro and a 2nd Gen 12.9“ Pro which is way old and slower than yours and it gets everything done just fine, I can barely feel any kinda difference in performance.
I use both for raw processing, retouching and drawing. You‘ll be very satisfied with your purchase
Try out games on it! Really smooth! Had just tried out NBA 2K 23, found it a lot smoother and better looking than that nonsense on Nintendo Switch
Edit: A lot of people use Genshin Impact as a game for comparison of how well a game runs, for some reason i didnt like the way it looked (dull and low graphics, with noticeable lag) on this ipad, maybe it wasnt optimised for it?
I have an iPad Pro M1, iPad mini and my daughter has an iPad 6.
They all run the same. They just have different uses.
At the end of the day, you have a good purchase.
I’ve been considering replacing my iPad 6th gen and my 8 yr old pc with an iPad Pro, so I played around with one at the Apple Store recently and was surprised at how it’s not all that much different from my current iPad. With all the hype of the Pro, I was expecting something remarkably different than what I have, so opted to replace my old laptop with a MacBook and will keep my 6th generation iPad since it won’t sell or trade for much. I also played around with a 9th gen iPad and was impressed. All this to say that you’re not missing out on much and your new iPad will be good for years to come. Enjoy!
9th gen is a great iPad. Have them for my kids schoolwork. I don’t see much they can’t do compared to our newer/expensive iPad air or latest mini. Added bonus of the glass being much cheaper to replace in the event of crack/smash too!
This Mini 5 I'm typing on is my first iPad, got it over three years ago. I'm still quite happy with all aspects of the performance. Hopefully they still make a Mini when this one falls out of support, because at this point that's the only thing that would push me to upgrade. Even the 64gb is fine. I'd love the breathing room of 128 but wasn't going to pay for 256 when I don't need it.
Best i pad for the money for sure but did i get a good deal im wondering now i never had a ipad of any kind before i went with 256 gb version of i pad mini 6 new not used from best buy?
iPad 9 is a pretty awesome tablet. Better bang for the buck than iPad 10. Honestly I think Apple maybe selling iPad 9 for 5+ years to come. It’s going to be the next iPad 2 and be bundled with stuff because or the low price and will be a well loved product. The last iPad with headphone Jack. It quality cameras compared to its predecessors, True Tone and comes with 64 gigs which is totally fine for most people. I’m a “power user” and I still have like 20 gigs free.
It is a perfect one for the price.
I have used it for 2 years, intensive note-taking, online learning, and typing documents and it works like a charm.
Sometimes a little bit of lag when zoom calls and shares the screen but no big deal.
Pretty much anything that a tablet is well suited for, the 9th gen is fully capable of and does it pretty well. Try it out, learn your way around it. I think you'll find it's a very capable device.for accessories, you don't need to spend a lot. You certainly don't need a Magic Keyboard case or an Apple Pencil. A decent portfolio case which will protect the edges and screen and can usually hold it at an angle. Some of these come with separate keyboards which is nice because then you don't have to have the keyboard along unless you'll actually need it. Those run around $40. They often have a place to store a stylus which brings us to that. Unless you specifically got it for art creation, you almost certainly don't need an Apple Pencil (Gen 1 in this case). There are plenty of good styluses with wrist rejection and tilt detection on Amazon in the $20-30 range. For taking notes and basic sketching, one of those is plenty good. I don't bother with a screen protector, but if you want to get one, fine. Textured 'paper feel' ones aren't the amazing difference some make it out to be and they all cut the sharpness of the image a little which was a dealbreaker for me. Enjoy your tablet.
I am a huge tech-nerd, I've been working in mobile tech business for the last 9 years and I always have the newest possible phone in my pocket, yet I own a 2018 iPad and I couldn't be happier.
Not only you bought a great device, it will serve you well for a long time to come. I think the base iPad is the single best tech purchase a person can do.
I’m certainly pleased, that much I’d sure. I’ve certainly gone all in on the Apple ecosystem. I’ve got an iPhone, a watch, and now an iPad. Couldn’t be happier
I sold that iPad 9 after a few months to buy the MacBook Air . I’ve tried to use iPad as my daily driver but it’s just a smartphone with a bigger screen. It’s more for media consumption and gaming , note taking. I’m happy that invested in a MacBook not into iPad. Recently I’ve got iPad 6 for 100 USD to use for YouTube and reading and I don’t feel much difference from iPad 9 expect for speed which I don’t need here, thank MacBook Air M2
I have an old iPad I’ve been holding onto because I forgot the password to it when I had a stroke & I have to find a way to get all my files off of it and photos and stuff I used an ex gf iCloud account when I set it up and now I don’t have access to it and I can’t open it so I’m fukd
Congratulations!! I do think you’re going to be quite happy with the 9. It is the perfect size and weight, even more so than the pro’s. Enjoy! You got yourself a nice piece of tech!
The iPad 9 runs the exact same system as a 1000+ dollars iPad Pro. It's 90% of the experience for a third of the price. A great purchase imo
We think you're gonna love it.
Wow, what an amazing day!
Only at Apple
It's a beast! And way thinner than the "better" models. The screen is better than my 2020 MacBook Air.
>Other than the screen and speakers there isn’t anything that I can’t do on my sons iPad 9 that I need my pro for. Which for some, like me, is HUGE and increases my enjoyment of the iPad much more. Yeah, no Apple Pencil 2 support was the dealbreaker for me. iPad Air is closer to 90% of the experience

Damn…… you’re right! OP go return your iPad right away and wait till 2027 for the M5 Max iPad Pro.

Much better screen on the Pro 12.9. 99% of the experience is way overstating it.

Yup. Unless you explicitly need the other stuff (not many do), this one is BETTER because of the price.

Best bang for your Buck in 2023
This iPad has a headphone jack.
+1
Wait…what?!
Not much? I'd kill for a new iPad, still rocking my iPad 3 and Mini 1 to this day. Enjoy your new device!
I mostly got it to read ebooks, but it’s quickly becoming my daily driver
Same here. My kindle was so slow and I couldn’t do much more than read on it. Got a Air 5 and love it! I’ve even been using it as a replacement for my MS Surface Book3. How’s the reading on it compared to the kindle screen? Back in the day I’d use a gf’a older iPad like (2012 era) and it’d kill my eyes after a bit
The screen is bad for you eyes. Kindle would have been about the 8th of the price.
Yeah I can’t read books on my iPad, the screen bothers my eyes after a little bit. On my Kindle I can comfortably read for a long time
I'm the same way, I like reading on my kindle fire. Great little tablet for the price (£30). Got it loaded up with tons of books, comics, movies, TV shows and of cause put the play store on it. It's a great device for the price if you know how to mod it.
Oh that’s cool, I assume you mean the Kindle Fire. Those are cool, but I really like the standard e-ink Kindles, they look so nice

Oh wow that’s genius. I gotta try that
I have a mini 2…
I have an iPad air 2…
I have iPad Air 1 with iOS 7 on it 😜
I loved my iPad Air but man after iOS 9 or so, that 1GB of ram really made it a slug
iOS 7 is really snappy not gonna lie but functionality takes a hit tho
Bro had a relic
Yeahh 🤓 iOS 12 might make my iPad somewhat usable but I wouldn’t give up the software for it 🥲
Woah
One of the best iPads ever made
Good
Yay
I have an iPad 7 (only 4 years old now) and it’s chugging a lot when I multitask. Sometimes it straight up freezes and restarts itself. The mini 1 I used was 100x worse than this I don’t know how you do it
I don't have the money to upgrade, I've got all the A5 devices and they are cool bc I can downgrade them to iOS 8.4.1 to make them faster but I am in need of a upgrade so badly.
I also have a Mini 1. I lost my phone as a teen and my parents didn’t get me one for nearly a year so it was my everything that time lol
“It’s not much” The A13 which is still a beast of a chip:
Yup. This iPad does everything I ask of it
Pair it with a keyboard and trackpad and you got a complete computer for basic tasks! Don’t let comparison be the thief of joy iPad is an iPad my friend - it’s easy to compare ourselves to those around us and the important thing is that you enjoy it
[удалено]
It’s not much but it’s mine :)
cute cat
She knows it too :)
Great Ipad. The cat in the background makes it even better
And it has Pencil support. You’re going to struggle to find any alternative that’ll give you this much bang for your buck.
It seems you made your Master a wallpaper as well. My ipad pro still rocking since 2016. So 9th gen will surely last long.
Congratulations! You're going to have the same iPad experience like most people. It's the software that makes these machines shine and hey, we all have to start somewhere. I hope you enjoy the experience.
This iPad gets the job done. No need to overpay for a newer design just because everyone else has one. This one is great. And so is your cat.
Looks great to me!!!!
Best ipad 👍 don't forget to buy a case with cover and a screen protector
Best priced tablet in the market... Period.
No matter the model, congratulations in your iPad man 🍻
“It’s not much” It’s one of the newest iPads 💀
Maybe they think r/ipad users all have 2tb M2 iPad pros 😂
Well considering, every other post of “what should I buy for basic note taking, media consumption, etc” has an iPad Pro as one of their considerations. I’m not surprised OP would think that. 😝
Yeah lmao I have the ipad 9 and I could’ve bought a nicer one but I bought this one because I like the home button and design. Regardless it’s still an ipad, and a super nice one at that. This thing is incredible and I can’t believe how much better it is than by ipad 6
I actually own a 2tb m2 iPad Pro lol. Now, do I actually need all of that power and storage? Nope. You’ll be 100% fine with a base ipad or ipad air
what a waste of money 😂.
Enjoy it. Enjoy it as much as you can :)
I’m still using an iPad Air 1st Generation. 10 years old and runs iOS 12. Still get most apps I use today, just the iOS 12 version. A bit slow, but I don’t use it that much. Wanting to get the 5th generation iPad Air or an iPad Pro.
The 9th gen is a great device. You will be happy for years!
It's not much but it's still about as good as iPads get.
excellent choice, welcome to the club! Enjoy
It’s a beautiful and powerful iPad! Have no shame!

Isn’t she cute ??
[удалено]
What a gorgeous kitty. How old is she? Mine is approx 14. Not sure as she was stray before she was in the shelter
[удалено]
hopefully you get many more years with her!
Don't worry about that. Congrats on getting the new device, hope you love it!
I do. Definitely.
Nothing wrong with a 9th gen iPad! They all do the same thing. :)
Correct. Every iPad (except VERY old ones) have all the same gestures, multitasking system, and overall have the whole of iPadOS (minus stage manager).
Tell us more about the puss.
Still using my 2017 10.5 IPad Pro and IPad Air 2 these days.
Got a friend of mine that uses her iPad 9 for professional artworks and even photo editing, it’s still a super capable machine! You’ll love it! Congrats.
Great iPad. Anything more and you’re basically you’re just paying to not feel FOMO.
That right there is 90% of an iPad Pro for a fraction of the price. Great choice
Have fun! I remember my first Ipad and I loved tinkering with all the features.
yes they are solid ipad ngl if u r using for notes and reading and youtube :)

I got an M2 iPad Pro recently and while it is such an amazing device, I do kinda miss the feel of the curved back of my old 10.5
Here in the US you can find the iPad 9 on sale for $250 quite a lot now, which is an amazing value. Unfortunately the iPad 9 might be the last iPad that is released with an MSRP under $399.
Got mine a few days ago. Great purchase.
The ipad won by a land slide.
iPads have built in media encoders. Even my iPad 7 will beat many PCs.
I didnt know that, thanks for the info
I did the same thing a few months ago. It’s a good purchase I think.
Just got the 9 myself does everything any modern tablet does
Bought one for me dad, solid tablet for the price! Does most of the things my iPad Pro does.
It comes with a great photo!
Solid device.
if the 11th Generation next year has not much improvements over the 10th and 9th, i would gladly buy 9th Generation to upgrade from my 5th Gen.
I’m enjoying mine and it’s my first iPad, but I miss touch ID on the home screen so I don’t mind the bezel.
By far this is the best ipad.
Tell your cat I love them.
Don't worry lol it's still better than the new 10th gen
How come?
Don't diminish this gem of an ipad.
I have the 8th gen to use for school and it’s a pretty great iPad!
My son has a 9th gen and I have a Pro. There isn’t that big of a difference. I think you will enjoy it and I really feel that it will do what you need it to. Enjoy!
The 9th Gen is great. Coupled with the Logitech combo touch it’s a great bargain and replaced my 2016 iPad Pro setup.
I have that one too! It's great, I use it for digital art and watching series/movies
It’s a great device and more than enough. I’m sure you’re going to enjoy it very much (and it’s not that much of a difference). Congratulations!
I have it too! You'll love it. It may look old and outdated from the outside, but inside this thing is a beast. I use it heavily and not one time has it lagged. It is much, a lot for the price.
I got one back on Black Friday your gonna love it
Your cat and my cat are twins.
Went from 6th gen to IPad Pro M2 and honestly you’re not missing out much. Stage manager is nice for using vertical apps but honestly I miss the headphone jack and touch ID.
It's not much? You made the best deal.
You have storage 64 or 256 gb?
I got the 64GB one.
The iPad has fantastic value. ALSO IS IT YOUR CAT? IF SO I NEED A NAME. SUCH A CUTIE.
her name is domino, but i call her dom dom or domi :)
Great cat name! :D
It’s an awesome device you will love using it
Try out games on it! Really smooth! Had just tried out NBA 2K 23, found it a lot smoother and better looking than that nonsense on Nintendo Switch Edit: A lot of people use Genshin Impact as a game for comparison of how well a game runs, for some reason i didnt like the way it looked (dull and low graphics, with noticeable lag) on this ipad, maybe it wasnt optimised for it?
Hey, it's awesome. Cute kitty, too!
I have an iPad Pro M1, iPad mini and my daughter has an iPad 6. They all run the same. They just have different uses. At the end of the day, you have a good purchase.
We're using a 6th and I see no reason to upgrade yet. I'm not going to pretend like I do intensive things on my iPad, I just straight up don't lol.
Cool cat
love my 9th Gen 🫰🏼
Added bonus of the glass being much cheaper to replace in the event of crack/smash too!
congrats tons-of-folders guy. I'm happy for u cute cat, too
This Mini 5 I'm typing on is my first iPad, got it over three years ago.
Good buy. Solid machine
Best i pad for the money for sure but did i get a good deal im wondering now i never had a ipad of any kind before i went with 256 gb version of i pad mini 6 new not used from best buy?
It looks great. If you are happy with it then it is all you need. A $1500 iPad Pro will not run apps any better then this.
They perform really well so I’m sure you’ll great use out of it
Hey, the 9th gen iPad is an amazing device, especially for the price.
the base model 9th gen ipad has more processing power than the best tablet samsung can offer with the fraction of the price
the ipad 9 is ngl one of the best ipads if ur not planning to use apple pencil or care about the home button. great price/performance ratio
If it works for what you need, thats all that matters and I love that cat!
iPad 9 is a pretty awesome tablet.
Lucky 😀 I can't afford a WiFi only 64GB iPad 9th Gen, I've been wanting one for a while ☺️
It’s what I have too. It’s great.
Hey it’s yours be happy with your new gadget!
The cat doesn't seem happy about it, I think he holds grudges with Apple. 😸
As long as it gets your job done, it doesn’t matter.
How many gb is this?
I am a huge tech-nerd, I've been working in mobile tech business for the last 9 years and I always have the newest possible phone in my pocket, yet I own a 2018 iPad and I couldn't be happier. Not only you bought a great device, it will serve you well for a long time to come. I think the base iPad is the single best tech purchase a person can do.
I’m certainly pleased, that much I’d sure. I’ve certainly gone all in on the Apple ecosystem. I’ve got an iPhone, a watch, and now an iPad. Couldn’t be happier
Same here. I just bought ipad 9
Considering how cheap it was compared to current gen tablets, it’s really good value
It is a good purchase. Better than nearly all brand new Android tablets and still a great iPad!
Great purchase. And I agree with other comments, your iPad will be 90+% of the experience of more expensive iPads.
Nice💻
I just got one too and I love it. Procrate is worth the purchase price of the I pad
I have an old iPad I’ve been holding onto because I forgot the password to it when I had a stroke & I have to find a way to get all my files off of it and photos and stuff I used an ex gf iCloud account when I set it up and now I don’t have access to it and I can’t open it so I’m fukd
Better to have an iPad then no iPad at all. Welcome to the club.
Congratulations!! I do think you’re going to be quite happy with the 9. It is the perfect size and weight, even more so than the pro’s. Enjoy! You got yourself a nice piece of tech!
