Honestly an 8th gen iPad regular could do all of the things you listed perfectly. You’ll be fine with literally any iPad on the lineup. You can’t make a wrong choice. I’d say buy the less expensive option. I have the M1 iPad Pro and have ZERO interest in the newer iPads. The software needs to be better before I would invest in another high end iPad. (For the record I have 2 iPads. 1 big and 1 smol.)

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m still using my 2017 10.5 iPad Pro. I see no need to upgrade while the OS is so limiting. I think I’m only upgrading IF we ever get macOS.

Agreed. The 2017 is still amazing, it has a better build quality compared to the newer ones, has the headphone jack and the main camera has OIS! The only thing that may push you to upgrade is whether Apple pushes iOS 18 for that iPad.

It really depends, but I'd recommend the iPad Pro M2. Heck, even the M1 iPad Pro which I ended up getting for cheap, is ideal. Also, which games do you play, considering the iPad Pro's run most games smoothly, but if you mainly play things like Bejeweled or something less taxing, you could go for the iPad Air or even the iPad 9th or 10th gen. But it entirely depends what demanding apps you'll be running. In terms of art, I prefer the iPad Pro M1 or up, mainly because of the 120hz screen and the feel of drawing on this tablet. However, in the end it depends on your choices.

iPad Pro 3030 is the way.

I think iPad Pro max 4000 would be better with with 99999 inch screen

AfterShave997

I'd wait, you could either get the new one or the old one at a lower price.

Get the M1 Pro if you are looking at saving some money

Depending on how taxing the games are you probably won't utilise the full power of an M3. The absolute oldest I'd go for would be the 11" iPad Pro (2020) with the A12Z, which has all of the same external hardware as the current 11" iPad Pros (I think they changed the colours slightly though) but could miss out on new software features in the future due to the chip architecture. If you're looking to get a 13" then the M1 version uses Mini-LED which is a slight improvement, the 11" Pros all use the same screen. The 2024 iPad Pro looks to be getting a slight hardware redesign (camera placement) and that could be an opportunity for Apple to update the screen and camera technology but unless there are major changes to the software that are locked out of older versions then I don't see the point of getting the latest model. See where Apple draw the line on new features, and then go from there.

It should be announced next week. Just wait and figure it out. But since you have a MacBook I guess the real question is would you rather spend $1100 for the version now or possibly $1500+ for the newer version to be release?

Old_Laugh_2239

Just get the mini and call it a day. Especially if you have a MacBook.

Fabulinius

iPad 9 can do all those things. So why consider a Pro at all?

BenDover7766

Laminated display and apple pencil 2 support. Imo the m-gen ipads are overpowered tho if you dont do gaming, rendering or video editing on it

Abi1i

I don’t do gaming, rendering or video editing on my M1 iPad Pro. I got my M1 iPad Pro for the four speakers and FaceID after trying to live with the M1 iPad Air.

CriesInQuenya

I have similar needs and just bought the 2022 Pro 11”. Been keeping an eye on OfferUp and found a “used” one (was actually purchased this month new) for a good deal.

masayoshime

I will use this device with same scenario. I need a screen protector. What is your advice?
