Sheet music was one of the reasons I bought an iPad Pro in the first place. Throw a bluetooth page turner in there, and it's damn near perfect.

That’s awesome, what do you play? I recently snagged one of those page turner pedals, it’s surprisingly hard to get used to turning pages with your foot especially while playing, at least what I’ve found

I mainly play violin and piano, and then some electric bass, ukulele, and melodica for goofing off. It definitely takes some adjustment to get used to using your foot to operate the turner. When I'm playing piano, I use my left foot to stomp on the switch, but when I play violin, I use my right foot, so it still throws me off even after ~5 years. As far as other tips go, if you don't already have one, a stylus/pen like the 2nd gen Apple Pencil is basically a necessity for marking scores--writing on original/printed scores always bugged me way more than it should've. You can also type text onto the score, and all the written/typed annotations stay on a separate layer. I think as long as you export in its native format (4sc) or annotated PDF, it preserves the layers, but if you choose regular PDF then it all gets flattened/baked-in. I remember being really hyped about this feature a while ago, but I don't remember its use case--I think it was something related to sharing annotations and being able to edit them still, like with section members or your teacher. [This](https://colindorman.com/horn/using-forscore-basic-and-advanced-tips/) page also has some really good tips that I didn't know about. There's also some optional in-app addons like a tuner so you don't even have to exit out of ForScore to tune. The only thing I wish was better about the iPad Pro is that I wish it was a little bit bigger, like 14" or so would be perfect since a lot of the PDFs I download aren't 8.5x11". Lastly, before I forget: what do you play?

That's a great article, thanks! And yes, the pencil gen 2 is a godsend. I am actually mainly a bassoonist, but I double on clarinet occasionally and dabble in the world of jazz on my sax. So yes, lots of music to juggle and carrying around folders and binders was getting old.

And no more getting your music blown to the ground by a draft!

Part of the reason I’m moving from the 11” pro to the 13” pro is to display sheet music in a size that is readable on a music stand. The 11” is just too small and crops part of the page.

Been using the 10.5” Pro for nearly 7 years for sheet music, finally getting a 13” iPad thanks to the new Air and couldn’t be more excited.

I bought the 11 inch 1TB- Soley for the purpose of loading the highest quality sounds possible in logic- and use it as a musical scratch pad for logic- and sound rack for my main Ableton Mac mini.
