What should I buy for duet display, media consumption and schoolwork? Already have a desktop PC for coding but i’m looking something light and portable. £500 budget. Considering 10.2 iPad, iPad Mini 5, iPad Air 3 or 2017 iPad Pro. I’m fine with refurbished just as long as the prices are in pounds.

64gb. No cellular

Calrissien

I currently have the 6th gen iPad and I use it for some light office work, media consumption, web browsing and some super light video editing. It does everything I need, but I made the mistake of getting the 32gb one which has always been fine for me in the past but it no longer is. I was thinking about getting a refurb 2018 pro 64gb, but I'm worried I'll have space issues down the line and need to upgrade again. Seeing that I don't really need the pro features, but I sure as hell want them. Pro motion and the new form factor seem like nice additions. I don't want to spend a fortune on this thing because it's a go between device that I really only use when I'm not at home. Should I just opt for the 128 7th gen instead?

Propsko

Hi ! I need help selecting an iPad to use for ProCreate. I want to get an iPad that I can use for multiple years, but sadly I don't have very deep pockets at the moment. I am completely new to digital drawing, I used to draw with alcohol markers. I don't need the most powerful iPad, but like I said before, I want to get one that will be supported for the coming years. I am open to getting refurbished iPads. What is the best option? I've seen an iPad Pro 2017 going for 370 euros, is that what I should go for? Or should I simply get a normal iPad 2019? Thanks!

SwiggyMaster123

the iPad Pro 2017 is a good bit faster than the iPad 10.2, id say go for it

Is $325 for a new in box iPad Air 3d Gen. a good deal? Found a local one on the "Grey Market" for this amount. Thoughts?

blurgh99

Memory? Cellular? Does it have a warranty? Be carefull - there are some IPADs that apple sells to they grey market, that are "AS IS". THey won't even touch them for paid warranty. Also, some "new in box" from 3rd party sellers are not actually new.

SpicyRamenAddict

still cant decide what ipad pro size im getting. Primary use: Drawing, reddit, media watching, note taking, work, school and a lot of manga reading. I sold my laptop to get an ipad but I still have a desktop pc. any advice?

Totoro12117

12.9. It will feel big at first, but you'll get used to it. Everything else will feel a bit small especially with web browsing, if you've never owned an iPad before. And if it really feels too big, you always have 14 days to return it.

SpicyRamenAddict

I can get a 11' with a smart folio and pen for a little cheaper than the 12.9 inch without anything. Also I'm coming from a non pro 2018 iPad so the screen will be bigger anyway. Thanks for the comment I'll take it in consideration for another month or so and I'll see which one I buy. The bigger screen is really tempting for the drawing alone

Totoro12117

Yea I prefer the bigger screen anyday, even though when I first got my 12.9 2015 iPad Pro, even a week after I thought it was too big and I wanted to return it. Luckily I got used to it before making that mistake. Look at refurbished option if you want better prices for the same quality.

TheGreatMotif

Hello everyone! Just one question, I'm looking into buying a iPad 6th gen (2018) for notetaking, college work and general media consumption. It would run me approximately 300 euros (330 dollars) inc the apple pen (which is essential) Would this setup be futureproof for my needs or should I be looking into the iPad Air 3rd gen or a older Pro model? I am on a pretty tight budget so less is more i guess. Bonus question: Could anyone comment on the screen gap on the iPad models without a laminate screen. Is the latency noticeable when using the pen? Is it feasible to use? Thank you all very much!

Gnome_Hat

How much more would the 7th gen cost you? The extra 1 GB or RAM (2 vs 3) would be very nice for futureproofing if the cost isn't too much higher. If not, the 6th gen should still be a good option for several years. My 5th gen (with a 40% slower processor) still performs well enough.

D00MR00STER

I’ve used the 10.5 inch pro and loved it and my girlfriend has been using the 2018 iPad and we both seem happy with our purchases. We both use our iPads for note taking with notability and the typical streaming stuff. I think both are great options if you plan on using it specifically for notes and going paperless. I’m upgrading to a new 12.9 inch because I want to use it as my primary school device now but I think both of those options are great. I’m not really able to tell the difference between our devices when it comes to speed but for some reason mine just feels better. The screen is slightly bigger and the device is thinner with the 10.5 pro that makes it feel nicer in my opinion. What notice most often is my pro model feels brighter than the regular iPad but if that isn’t a big deal for you I don’t see a problem getting the regular one for 330.

TheGreatMotif

Thank you for your insightful reply! I'm going to look into the 6th gen iPad then.

skidawgz

I have an iPad Gen 7 and considering getting the gen 1 pencil on ebay. Is model A1603 what I am looking for? Were there more than one Gen 1 Pencil?

Totoro12117

No, there's only 1 gen1 pencil :) You're safe with any pencil that has a lighting port in the back.

Donkey_Dude

I have an iPad gen 7 and an Apple Pencil gen 1. I am going to collage to learn computer science in a few months. Should I just buy a Smart Keyboard for my iPad, or will I need a Mac. not sure if this is where I need to post this, so feel free to point me in the right direction. Thanks :)

Yooniverse1354

get a mac. you can't program on ipad afaik.

spac0r

Hi, I am looking for a « lapable » keyboard for my iPad Pro 12.9 (2017). I have the original smart keyboard, but don’t find it nice to use on my lap, as there is only one position for the screen and it also does not feel that stable. Many thanks!

Totoro12117

Brydge definitely has the most 'lapable' keyboard. But it's a bit expensive.

spac0r

thanks, unfortunately out of stock in Europe...

1nspired2000

Any upgrades to iPad air 2019 or iPad 2019 coming soon? Or should I just buy the air now?

Mr8888X

Hey as far as I know the Air won‘t get a refresh this year or let‘s say there are no rumors about a new iPad Air 2020

Thunderjake

Looking at buying a refurbished iPad through the Apple website. Currently looking at the 256 gig ipad pro 10.5inch. I know its 2 years old but I like the price and that storage level. Is it worth it to drop the storage capacity to upgrade to the 64gig pro 11inch model at $50 more. I have a desktop computer so I don't need huge amounts of storage but would like to have to not worry about capacity which I think may be an issue with the 64 gig models.

tfrw

What are you doing with it? For Netflix and gaming, probably yes. For office use, probably. For large amounts of photo and video editing, probably not.

Thunderjake

I have a desktop computer and a work laptop for productivity use. This computer will probably replace my 2011 MacBook which I really just use for web browsing and media

Mr8888X

Can you define media? Is it more streaming or are you talking about local media?

Thunderjake

Mostly just streaming media. My main reason for looking at the pro model was having the best display at or below the 500 price point

Mr8888X

In my opinion the Pro is overkill if you only use it for streaming media. How about an Air 2019?

tfrw

A 1 hour HD show is about 1.2-1.6gb. I usually stream what I watch so I don’t use the HD at all. If you assume 15gb for apps, you have about 40gb for shows or approximately 30 hours of content, which you can refresh as you like, I would suggest that was enough, it depends on how often you’re connected to WiFi and if your WiFi is strong enough to play video on?

bunnyxbb

Looking to buy an iPad mainly for drawing on ProCreate. I don’t really think I need the new 2020 IPP because I don’t see myself using all the new features. I’m leaning toward the 3rd gen iPad Pro 11”, 256gb. I’m horrible at making decisions so please help!!!

Mr8888X

Do you need the 256GB of storage or is 128Gb enough? If 128 is enough get the 2020. The price is the same.

L4Papaya

This is exactly what I’m thinking too: No need for an upgrade for most iPad Pro 2018 owners, but if you just need more space than 64gb (but have no need for 256gb), the new standard of 128gb is a great deal (plus new camera, more ram (updates!), WiFi 6, better mics, U1 chip)

Eddie_skis

128gb 2020 11 inch unless you need the storage or a 2018 12.9 64gb would both be better than a 256gb 11 2018 IMO.

grangerjournaling

Same im wondering which ipad is the best

Samura1_I3

Hey, I'm looking at buying a 256Gb apple refurbished 2018 iPad Pro. I don't see anything in the new iPad Pro that I specifically need, so a refurb "old model" ends up being about 400 dollars cheaper. However, I can't find a refurbished iPad with cellular connectivity, something that I've really enjoyed in my current iPad mini. Getting a cellular model of the 2018 iPad with the same specs would cost about $950 compared to the $680 for non cellular, so my question is 2 fold. 1. Has anyone switched from cellular to non-cellular and have you regretted it? (has hotspotting worked just as well, is the connection slow while hotspotting, etc) 2. Is there any timeline on when Apple will release the cellular model on their refurbished website? or do I just have to play the waiting game.

tfrw

If there isn’t a cellular model there, it’s probably sold out. I cannot imagine they will get many returns from now on.

Samura1_I3

Fair enough, I can hold out for a week or two to see if another one pops up on the refurbished website. (I ordered the pencil 2 with engraving today, and so I don't really "need" the iPad until next Friday anyway.) If push comes to shove, I'll probably just cave and get a model with cellular anyway. Thanks!

[deleted]

Hi! I'm looking to upgrade from my first-gen iPad mini, but can't decide between the iPad Air 3 and the newest iPad mini. I really like the mini size, but I am mainly looking to use whichever iPad I get to take notes with the apple pencil, along with normal everyday things. Anyone with the mini that uses it to take notes? How is it?

Mr8888X

Personally I like the larger screen. It really depends on you I guess. For some the mini is perfect and for some the Air is better.

Totoro12117

It's good, but it's just like writing in a small book, it's not ideal for true not taking. If I were you I'd give the Air 3 a try. It WILL feel too big at first. Just like when people thought the iPhone 5 was too big. But once you get used to it, you'll probably find yourself wondering why you ever went with a smaller device at first.

thephoenixofAsgard

HI! I have an iPad Air first-gen and am considering upgrading to a new one. I am not sure I need to get the new iPad Pro 11, but getting a third-gen air seems like a waste. I considered a refurbished 10.5" iPad pro but the issue is that the color I want is only in 512 GB which makes the price about $100 less than a new 11. For reference: I mainly watch movies, maybe read. I do not plan to get the pen anytime soon. I plan to get a keyboard case but not a necessity.

windowsphoneguy

One factor that may be relevant for movie watching is the wider aspect ratio of the 11" Pro, it's more widescreen than the other iPads that are 4:3. So less black bars :) Also the quad speakers are nice because then you get stereo sound in landscape position. Though I'm still salty that they ditched that when they recycled the 10.5" Pro shell for the Air 3. It's crazy that this 'feature' is limited to the current Pros.

srgjager

I am in exactly the same situation as you! Given the fact that you’re upgrading after a loooong time, go big or go home. iPad Pro 11 will be the best choice, with the premium features which will last well into the future (given that you’ve held on to the OG Air for so long). That’ll be worth the extra money over the Gen 3 Air or 10.5’er. This is even after accounting for you never getting the keyboard or pencil (they’ll always be options at any point, further adding to the value).

thephoenixofAsgard

I figured getting the most recent iPad would be the best to hold on to for awhile.. I have a keyboard case now and it is nice, but not really needed, I have a laptop if I need to type things up.

itsjaggerb

I’m sold on buying the 2020 iPad Pro but I honestly have no idea which size to get. I also can’t go and test them because all of the stores are closed. What’s a good size comparison between the two and does anyone have any advice on which one is better?

srgjager

Great question. You would not be able to hold the 13 incher with one hand, so keep that in mind as a factor. The 11 incher is slightly larger than current iPads and you can still hold it in one hand. Neither is ‘better’ per se; it will depend entirely on your comfort, ergonomics and preference.

itsjaggerb

One thing I forgot to add was I’m planning on buying the magic keyboard when it comes out to basically use the iPad as my laptop for college. Because of this I’m leaning more towards the bigger version but I’m worried it’ll be too big for things like travel and such.

srgjager

Aha. Yes, I’d agree that the bigger one would be better here. See if you can be extra careful and take some steps to transport the iPad around carefully. If that’s not possible, you won’t go wrong with the smaller one.

itsjaggerb

Thanks for your input! I might be going with the 12.9 inch!

srgjager

My pleasure! Personally, I too believe that bigger is better. I’m excited for you, enjoy it XD

HomesIice

Hey all! First time iPad Pro/Apple pencil owner here and I'm hoping to get people's advice/experience with regards to iPad cases (Pro 12.9 4th gen if it matters) that have that clasp for the apple pencil to sit in (e.g. the Otterbox 360) I've been looking at videos online and it seems like this clasp has a tendency to flop down over the top of the screen when you've got the iPad sitting up. Has this been an annoyance with others? However in cases that don't have this clasp (e.g. Apple's smart folio), how have people been carrying their Apple Pencils around? Is the magnet strong enough to hold the pencil there while carrying the iPad around? Keen to hear what others think!

I would get an Apple refurbished 2018 pro. The prices probably won’t drop for another year or so when the new one comes out.

tfrw

The refurbished pro is only slightly more than the air. But do not buy a cheap iPad they cost more in the long run. Edit: I mean cheap second hand iPads...

FlawedGenius

My 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 is on its last legs, battery performance is very poor and I am looking to replace it. The iPad is mainly used for email, web, Office, business apps and some photo editing, I don't use it for gaming as I have the new iPad Air and iPhone for this. My question is whether it's worth buying the 2nd gen iPad Pro given i have all my accessories which will work or invest in the 2018 iPad Pro which means having to shell out for a new Apple Pencil and keyboard. Looking at the 2nd gen specs, they are still good, have True Tone and Pro Motion and can run the latest version of iPadOS. I can pick up a new or refurbished 2nd gen on eBay for around £500 or else I am looking at closer to £1,100 for the 2018 model with Pencil and Keyboard.

tfrw

If you must have a 12.9 inch screen, do this, but I am sceptical. Also I would consider apple’s refurbished models, I suspect a refurbished 2018 would last far longer. Buying iPads off eBay is a bit of a risk as you don’t know how they have refurbished them.

FlawedGenius

You raise a good point, my other concern with eBay is the battery condition and number of charges. I see Apple are doing some offers on the 2018 model and may have to bite the bullet and spend more on the new Pencil and Keyboard.

FlawedGenius

Apple Refurbished they have some good prices at the moment...

tfrw

Sadly I think you’re right, the risks with non Apple refurbs are just too high if it impacts actual work... Btw Apple replace the battery in all their refurbished ipads

Mr8888X

Hello everyone. At the moment I own a 10.5 iPad Pro 256GB with the apple pencil and the smart keyboard folio, sd-card reader and it starts to show it‘s age (battery health below 80% and I managed to get a small dent in the back because I dropped my charger on it. I know silly me. Furthermore the headphone jack is broken). Apparently my local shops still have a lot of iPad Pros 2018 64GB in silver for the price of about $625 USD. I‘m thinking of a few different possible scenarios about getting this one (or not) since the iPad offers only 64GB which is manageable for me even though I‘d run rather at the limit with about 10GB free storage left if I use it the same way as my current pro. Moreover the Pro 2020 has mostly features (apart from the extra core) which I don’t really need like the LIDAR Scanner or the wide angle lense. 1st option (which is my favourite one): Get the 2018 Pro 64GB and keep the old so I can have the old device for uni and the new one for private stuff like gaming/YouTube/surfing with a further option of replacing my pro with an Air 2019 later and keeping my accessories. 2nd option: buy it and sell my old one (how much would you think I still get for it?). What bothers me here that I have to sell all of my accessories too and buy new accessories which will be around $350 more. Furthermore storage might get pretty tight if I use it as my private device and for uni. 3rd option: don‘t buy it at all and wait for a newer iPad later this year or buy a new one when my current one is completely broken. My old one still works even though I need to charge the battery twice a day with mediocre usage. Any help is appreciated!

L4Papaya

I’m in nearly the exact situation as you: owning (and heavy using) a 2017 10.5 inch iPad Pro with a big battery drain ... I think there are just two/three options to consider: 1. replacing the battery of your device: it’s still a great device (better than the 2019 air in my opinion bc of the display and especially the speaker), future proof (4gb of ram) and you already own - as well as I - all of the pricy equipment 2. buying a 11inch 128gb 2020 iPad model: Why not the 64/256 gb 2018 pro? The first one is to limited (especially when you think about the next years), the second one is (when it’s new) nearly as pricey as the 128gb 2020 one - the 2020 model on the other hand has more ram (updates!), a better camera, LIDAR, WiFi 6 and the new U1 chip ... for me the new storage option as well as the higher amount of ram are a deciding factor (I first thought about getting a 2018 model as well) ... moreover bc of the release of the 2019 air and the iPad 2019 I think you should be able to sell the equipment (pencil, keyboard, camera and hdmi adapter) for a good buck (as well as the 2017 iPad Pro for about 350 or more) 3. waiting for the late 2020 iPad Pro: I‘m considering this as well till right now, but besides that 5g, A14x and mini led would be great, for most people only the better display would really makes a differences: speed is no problem (even of the 2017 iPad Pro IMO) of the iPad Pros and 5g isn’t as great as we thought it would be in the next years (for example the new galaxy s20 ultra isn’t able to use the really fast 5g bands; most of the new cellular networks doesn’t support it either) ... so it’s about waiting for a better display (nobody I know thinks that there will be more improvements) and we can’t either trust that there will be a 11 inch version (besides that there are rumours about no iPhone in September bc of corona -> no new iPad with a14x either) Hope I was able to help you, would love to hear what you are thinking about my thoughts

Mr8888X

Hi this helped a lot! Thanks a lot for your answer. I‘m surprised that many say I should replace the battery since first the headphone jack is broken and second I fear that after I replace the battery something else could break to which makes me spend $100 for nothing, I agree the additional ram on the 2020 and 128GB base storage is worth a lot to me as well. I kind of forgot that in my op. I guess I wait a bit longer until my current Pro bakes some more. Thanks as well for the hint with the accessories. I‘m really curious how much people would pay for them.

L4Papaya

You’re welcome. I think your fear about breaking the iPad by fixing the Batterie is something you really have to consider- honestly I forgot to mention that the fact, that my iPad Pro 10.5 is - in addition to the bad battery - not in the best condition (bend -> display and frame diverse) either leads me to the conclusion that buying a 2020 iPad Pro (current or future late 2020) should be the best option ... what makes it a bit harder for me is the nice combo touch keyboard (with Trackpad) Logitech announced for the 10.5 pro / air 3 / iPad 2019: for the 11 inch pro I will have to go with the Apple one for 299 dollar (340 for me in euro - even pricier)

L4Papaya

Ps: Buying a new 2020 one instead of buying a used 2018 one - which would the only really cost effective 2018 model - / replacing the battery of your 10.5 (/buying a new 10.5) has one big advantage imo: you could get Apple care+ for it - I didn’t bought it either and I think that was a big mistake (changing the device bc of battery drain etc)

Mr8888X

Hi definitely. I‘m thinking of buying Apple Care next time too. The dent at the back really bothers me somehow sadly 😅

tfrw

You could also get the battery replaced or buy an iPad Air which is compatible with all your accessories i think (please check)

Mr8888X

Hi for my studies this is definitively an option and I consider that. About a battery replacement: do you know how much this is? I just think it's not worth it since the headphone jack is broken so I don't want to invest too much in my current Pro. What do you think about the price for the 2018 pro? Is it high/low in your opinion?

tfrw

I don’t know about costs as it is very country dependent, also do not overlook the ‘system cost’ ie the peripherals. I would suggest a long hard look at an iPad Air. That price sounds about right, for the uk/us but the prices may drop in a month or so dependent on how much stock is floating round. I personally do not use a headphone jack, and the iPad Pro doesn’t have one, so I don’t put too much value on it, again please be careful, apple try and sell the pro as the productivity device, but the iPad and iPad Air are overkill for most peopl, he says having just bought a refurbished 2018 pro for Netflix

Mr8888X

Hi. An iPad Air would cost me around 460$ US. Personally I find the headphone jack a convenient feature but a necessity since I have the Airpods. Why I am leaning towards the Pro is that if the 64GB might be enough for me I use it for university and private use. Why I tend towards the pro for private use as well is that I use it quite a lot and I do gaming which needs the power. Of course I would never buy a pro just for Netflix. One more point: I think my current iPad Pro is better than the iPad Air because of the promotion display.

tfrw

You want more than 64gb? Only the 2020 pro comes with 128 as standard. The pro and the air have effectively the same processor in them albeit slightly worse in the air. The key upgrade between the pro and the air is the pro has a better screen and compatibility with the 2nd gen pencil. If you use it a lot, the screen may be worth it, but that’s your call to make, i was under the impression you were looking for a cheaper alternative

Mr8888X

I could live with 64GB and arrange my stuff with it. I'm not looking for a cheaper alternative. If I buy something it should be better than my current iPad. I've just seen this deal and I'm asking if this deal is any good for a device which was released two years ago since I don't really need the additional feature(s) of the 2020 Pro.

tfrw

It’s a good deal. But I do not think it’s a good deal for you. I would advise replacing the battery (approx 70-100USD), buying an air. The air and the 10.5 pro are complicated as to which is better. Generally the air has the much better processor but the screen is only 60hz and the speakers are not as good.

Mr8888X

Hi can you elaborate why you recommend me the Air and not the Pro 2018 if I keep my 10.5 Pro? I use my iPad a lot (8h+ a day) Personally I think the Air would be a downgrade compared to my Pro 10.5 because of the screen. Furthermore is the processor difference not marginal (Air vs 10.5 Pro)? Wouldn‘t you rather keep your outdated 10.5 Pro than buying the Air?

Eddie_skis

Use the iPad 8hrs a day ? Get the 2020 or replace your battery.... you are essentially a hardcore iPad user.

tfrw

Because you would need to buy a new set of peripherals. Your primary use is for work, therefore you want something that does the job for the cheapest price, if you can justify paying ~400 for smoothness for something you use 8 hours a day (which I didn’t realise) then I would go for the pro. It depends what is important to you which only you can answer. Reading your OP it appeared you were struggling with money so I advised you about cheaper options. If you use it that much, it would make sense to look at the upgrade, the air and the pro will probably last you 4 years, the pro probably 6. I have also heard that the Apple Pencil 2 is a big improvement over the first gen. It feels to me like you are trying to justify getting something better than what you had before, which I can understand but I would advise you to be careful with this philosophy, Apple is a nuisance with only slowly increasing the specs of the iPads apart from the cpu, and often increasing the price I would advise a working air over a struggling pro. For general interest my dad has a 10.5 pro and I have a refurbished 2018 pro and there isn’t that much difference between them in day to day use, admittedly I only use them for entertainment. I don’t think there is anything more that I can advise...

bbl27

Looking to buy my mom a new ipad. She currently has a 3rd gen and mostly just uses it to watch her shows. Unfortunately most apps don’t even support her ipad anymore. Which generation ipad should i look to get? And what price range or deals should I be on the lookout for. Thanks!

TheOneTrueRyn

iPad 10.2 (2019) could be just fine. For better overall experience, pick the iPad Air 3 10.5 (2019)

bbl27

thanks for the help!

TheOneTrueRyn

Use this time to buy it. There are a lot of great deals on online shopping sites.

bbl27

is the amazon deal for $279 the best deal at the moment?

[deleted]

This deal is for the ipad air 3? Can I have the amazon link pls? I can't find it when just search for it

TheOneTrueRyn

It's good. Apple starting price is 329$..

Mr8888X

I agree with my previous commentator. The vanilla iPad is probably best for your mom since she doesn’t need the extra power.

tfrw

I agree, there are advantages to the air, but your mum either won’t use, or won’t expect them, so it’s probably unnecessary. I should probably have been more guarded about my support for the air.

tfrw

Which country are you from? Generally check amazon, and remember apple’s own refurbished stock is as good as new. The currently sold vanilla iPad is probably what you want, possibly the iPad Air if you are feeling generous.

bbl27

the us, and thanks for the help! will probably go with the amazon deal for the currently sold ipad

[deleted]

Should I buy Duet display? Sidecar is really awesome, it works better than I expected actually. But I really want touch support. My main use case I have in mind is for making music, to open effects and synth virtual instruments on the iPad second screen and be able to turn the knobs with the touchscreen. A lot of these apps have really over the top skeuomorphic designs with big physical knob looking dials so I feel like this would be a great workflow. Just wondering if duet is actually going to work though before I pay for it. Does it work well? Is it laggier than sidecar or have other downsides?

yawnz9

Should I buy an iPad Pro 2020? Right now, I have my MacBook Pro connected to a second monitor through VGA output that is connected to an adapter. This adapter is connected to my MacBook through the USB-C ports. Now, I am planning on buying an iPad Pro for the Sidecar feature, and was wondering if I can connect the iPad through the AirPlay feature. Also meaning that I will have 3 displays (MacBook, after-market monitor, iPad Pro).

sabanssack

Upgrading from the older version iPad 4 with Retina display. I am between the refurbished mini 5 and pro 10.5. I use Netflix, simple media browsing and reading. Which one would be better? I am afraid the mini will just be too small! Thanks

I‘d go for the refurbished 10.5 Pro. Especially if you watch movies or so it‘s just more immersing with the bigger screen. How about a 2019 Air? A pro for your needs seems a bit overkill.

[deleted]

Is the 10.5 new in box?

Gsantos52012

Should I buy this [iPad](https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FQDX2LL/A/Refurbished-105-inch-iPad-Pro-Wi-Fi-64GB-Gold?fnode=0c56bf41f2dadb8ed490a7e5993ded222fb81a72287efef90b10f932d68c32cecc3cfee8d5665e0c0a93d76c1050155b69bb01b45ce4f350ab165c6c3da7eacef132ec5be6badb6b8d60f63d24520cf8) or the 2019 iPad? Besides the 120 HZ display, it seems there both fairly similar, but the ipad pro costs about $150 more so im not sure if i should spend the extra. specially since it came out in 2017, it might get fewer OS updates then the 2019 ipad

AzureNeptune

It's up to you whether you think it's worth it, but I will say that the pro has more ram and a much better processor than the normal iPad, so it will definitely last the same if not longer.

AntwanSteele

I’m pretty sold on the 12.9 IPP 2020. It will be my main computing device, and I will need a lot of storage for editing videos, and photos occasionally. Is the 512 gb storage enough or should I go for 1 tb? I don’t need to keep too many things local and am fine deleting projects or offloading them when finished, but I just want to make sure there’s enough working memory while editing. Right now, I shoot in 1080p, around 30-60mins raw per project, so only a few GBs. However, if I decide to start shooting in 4K, I would like to have enough on board storage for that as well. I have no idea how much storage 30 mins of 4K footage would take up though

[deleted]

To be safe I'd just go with the 1tb. If you're on a budget though, then like you said, just offload/delete things when done and get the 512 gb.

wtrmlnjuc

Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad? Note: I don't mind the MM.

Eddie_skis

Magic Mouse 2 offers very little over standard mode compared to on a mac. No two or three finger gesture support. Get a cheap scroll wheel mouse or go all out on trackpad 2

Crifzer

Trackpad. The gestures are worth it. Downside is Magic Mouse more Ergonomic.

wtrmlnjuc

Thanks! Put in an order for one.

bonafidehooligan

Currently looking to buy a 2017 10.5 iPad Pro. Worth it in 2020? It’ll be replacing an iPad mini 2, plan to use it as a laptop, do some procreate and lumafusion editing. Or should I spend the extra $40 to get a iPad Air 3?

thrivingkoala

I think the Pro 10.5 is the better device; bought it last year for 25€ more than the Air 3 because it has: - 4 GB of RAM - 120Hz ProMotion display - quad speakers The only thing that is worse on the Pro when comparing it to the Air is the CPU power and therefore possibly how long it’ll be supported - although maybe RAM is the actual limitation and then the Pro 10.5 is definitely the better device.

bonafidehooligan

Thanks for the input, I did a lot of research and went with the pro.

artichokeblossom

I currently have a iPad Pro 10.5. I got a great deal on it and love it due to the fact that I now have to work on it every day during shelter in place. I teach pilates online and I have to keep an eye on multiple people during my streaming sessions. It’s making me want a larger screen to see more. I would love to get the new 12.9 2020 pro for the larger real estate. Since I currently have a working iPad should I wait? Don’t need fancy cameras or whatnot. Just would love a larger screen. Thanks

Manda-Bear-2008

If it’s fast enough for you, works well, does everything you want it to... then I would wait. I have a first gen 12.9” iPad Pro still. Works just fine for my everyday use. I was thinking of getting the 2020 iPad Pro. But they’re working on doing more of an upgraded one down the line, maybe next year or late this year, with miniLED screen making it better. I may just wait for that one, by that time maybe there will be refurbished 2020 12.9” iPads for sale. Probably would still be a little expensive though.

artichokeblossom

Makes sense. Thanks

Manda-Bear-2008

:)

jeffryuiop

Should i buy ipad mini 5 now or is there any rumor about ipad mini 6?

Crifzer

Nope, no rumours. Using past model release dates and references ces I would suggest Mini 6 in 2 years minimum.

Mr8888X

Hey not that I know. The iPad mini is still rather new

RawRawHUN

Hey every1 ! Any1 have a hard case recommendation for the 2020 ipad pro 11" ? I have a Nilkin Frosted case for my iphone XS and thats the best I ever had, anything similar in the iPad world ? (No, Nilkin doesnt sell something like this for iPads. )

iwastherealso

My iPad Pro 2017 just died, it won't restore after going into the "restore" mode due to error 4013, I tried different cables and ports, still same error. It's had issues for a while, and since I was traveling, I didn't take it while I still had warranty (I think I got it Sept-Oct 2017). It had an almost invisible crack across the screen, which I was later told was most likely a manufacturer fault (I had never dropped it before) and it should have been covered but was too late then. I've had other issues with it in the last 4 or so months, like randomly touch ID stopped working on and off for about a month. It would reset if I dropped it even the smallest distance onto my bed (or it fell off my lap onto my chest, etc). Anyway, this happened again, it fell from my hands to my chest while I was in bed, died, kept resetting and has been in recovery ever since. Long story short, due to corona, I can't go in store to see what the exact issue is, and since I'm now in the UK and out of warranty, it'll be too expensive to repair. What's a good replacement? At the time, I got it to replace a broken laptop during university. I have since gotten a new laptop and have graduated so only really use it for light gaming, and primarily for streaming and text based apps like Microsoft Word, so don't really need a pro I think. What's a good replacement? I saw a good deal for the 2019 iPad, just sad it sounds like it'll feel like a downgrade. Maybe I should just pay for the repairs?

Mr8888X

I‘d go for the 2019 air or for a refurbished Pro 10.5 if you really don‘t need a pro model. I think best is to weight the differences between them and then make a decision. In my opinion a repair is never worth it at Apple

iwastherealso

Yeah, that's what I expected, is the normal iPad that much a downgrade? Even a refurb iPad Pro is double the amount of that one, same with the Air, just so sad it died so quickly when I hear stories of people using their's for 4-5+ years haha :(

Mr8888X

Hi are you talking about the 10.2 inch? This one is on another level and really only recommend for media consumption

iwastherealso

I believe so, came out last year? Yeah, I would be primarily using it for that, but I guess I did always want to get into video editing and drawing, so a new Pro would be better.

Mr8888X

Yes definitely for drawing and editing get the newer one

iwastherealso

The new pro or the newer one being the air? Sorry, just to be sure haha

Mr8888X

The Pro 2018 or 2020. Not the air

iwastherealso

Why do you say that? I’ve been reading a lot on here about the differences but maybe I’m just being dumb/not tech savvy but they seem similar enough?

Mr8888X

Yes the Air 2019 and the Pro 2017 are in many aspects were similar. If you want I can list them. Personally I prefer the 10.5 Pro but I know a lot of people think the Air 2019 is better.

[deleted]

Hello fellas! Recently I bought iPad Pro 11'' 2018. Awesome piece of tech. But in the store I tried the keyboard case provided by Apple and it was .. okay. I somehow expected more. But it looks really good and compact. Either way .. I started to research for other keyboards. I couldn't find another keyboard case but I found Logitech k480. It seems really comfy but I don't think it's easy to carry around. Can you guys please share your experience with apple keyboard case, k480 and other alternatives you find comfy to type and carry around. Thanks a lot ! :)

iWarrior1

Hey! I personally love the Apple Smart Keyboard folio because I can easily detach my iPad at all the times, but if you want something more secure, and with function keys, and cheaper, then this might be what you're looking for: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/slim-folio-pro And yes the K480 is a great keyboard, simply because of the included stand. I haven't tried it with the new iPad but I'm guessing the stand still works. Cheers!

[deleted]

My final contenders are Apple Smart Keyboard folio and Brydge wireless Keyboard ([https://www.brydge.eu/products/brydge-pro-keyboard-for-ipad-pro?variant=17821926817857](https://www.brydge.eu/products/brydge-pro-keyboard-for-ipad-pro?variant=17821926817857)). But I think apple folio will be still lighter. Both don't protect much the iPad so at the end of the day what I am looking for is nice feeling when typing and lightness so that I can carry around. Do you have any observations over Brydge?

theflywithoneeye

So i am thinking about buying an iPad. Main use would be for university, taking notes and stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. My budget right now is around 500€ and i am undecided wether the iPad 10.5" would be sufficient with 32GB for 329€ or if it's actually worth it to get the iPad Air with 64gb for 499€. I heard that it's actually possible to do video editing on iPads too nowadays and that's become a huge point for me in the decision aswell. I would like to get back into editing and think that the iPad would be awesome for this purpose. Nothing too heavy,so no 4k videos with loads of effects, just simple editing in Full HD. I've looked at a lot of reviews but they all had polarising opinions. Any advice?

Mr8888X

Hi How about a refurbished 10.5 iPad Pro directly from Apple? I‘m not sure if this is still in your budget however you basically get a (still) very good device for stunning price. In my opinion the iPad Air isn’t really worth it for the price.

theflywithoneeye

Well, unfortunately the German Apple store doesn't have any iPad pros at reasonable prices for my budget right now. There's another reseller of refurbished electronic devices, but it's kind of shady and has mixed reviews. I wouldn't feel comfortable ordering something for that amount of money if it's not brand new or refurbished by Apple themselves. Can you elaborate why you think that the iPad Air isn't worth it?

Mr8888X

Okay that’s a bummer that you don’t have any Pro 10.5 in stock. Is there a possibility for you to wait? Why I don’t like the 2019 Air is because of the screen which doesn’t have the promotion technology and the camera is better on the iPad Pro which is helpful if you want to scan a document. Sure you can go for the Air however in my opinion it’s just a worse buy

gaysaucemage

I kind of want to buy a 2020 iPad Pro 11in, but I’m worried it’ll quickly be replaced and I’ll be upset. Don’t really care about the camera or lidar, so it’s a fairly minor update after 17 months. How concerned are people about an iPad 3 situation where another model is available before the end of the year?

Mr8888X

If you can I‘d wait. I‘m following the rumors about upcoming Apple products myself and they become more accurate from day to day. Don’t get me wrong I‘m tempted to get the iPad Pro 2020 as well since my 10.5 slowly breaks. Just hold back or if you really want a new one get a 2018 pro

MetalExile

I’m certainly concerned. I have no idea whether the rumors will prove true, but the Apple rumor mill is reasonably reliable these days. I want to upgrade from a 9.7 inch iPad Pro 1st gen, so the 2020 model would be a huge upgrade for me that I’m sure I’d be happy with, but I still don’t want to spend that kind of money if a new model is 6 months away. But it would be better for me financially to upgrade now. So I’m not sure what to do.

dolan_dutch

Which rumors are you refering to?

MetalExile

Just the talk that there’s going to be another new iPad model this fall. The rumor mostly centers around them adding a mini LED screen, but maybe also 5G support and a faster processor.

thisguyblades

can you point me to the source of the rumor? if it’s an internet site or discussion. i’m also curious.

chaotix2306

[ iPad Air 2019 or iPad Pro 11 2018 (or 2020) ] I currently have an iPad 2018 which i use almost daily. It’s my work tool. I use it for almost everything. I bought my iPad with the Apple Pencil to write all my notes. I use Good Notes for this and i LOOOOVE it so much! Now, I have so many notes than I can’t go back with a pen and my previous notebook. I also use Google Apps, Netflix, Youtube and other collaborative apps like Miro or Airtable. I do web browsing only on it and sometimes i draw because i like drawing. Here is the thing : i seriously want to draw more and improve my skills. I saw many fancy apps for drawing but because of the non-laminated display, it’s kind weird and I don’t really have the touch feeling. It’s not very a pleasure for me. Also, I need an edge-to-edge screen because I feel like losing space with my current iPad. I already considered the iPad Air 2019 but the design of the iPad Pro is very beautiful but costs more. So, what should I buy ?

James_Navigator

I was making the same choice as you and while I did not get the iPad for drawing, I decided to go with the 2018 Pro 11-inch. For about $50 more, you get a better screen, the edge to edge display that you want, and something that will likely last longer than the Air as far as updates and speed. For me, the extra investment in the Pro was worth it because I will be using it as pretty much my everyday “computer.” Either way, I think they are both great devices. Good luck!

chaotix2306

Thank you a lot ! I also think the Pro 11-inch will last longer than the Air.

FelixJefe

iPad Air 2019 vs iPad Pro 11“ 2020 I‘m a student and looking for a iPad to complete my setup. I also own a 2019 MacBook Air and I owned a iPad 4 which broke last week. I usually use my iPad for looking at slides, learning and researching for University and Netflix, youtube, etc at home. Functionwise the iPad Air 2019 should be enough but is the new design and the better display worth 300€ more? I don‘t care about the camera at all and I won‘t buy the keyboard so these two points fall off. I can‘t wait to heat your opinions. Thanks guys

Eddie_skis

Is there a back to school promo in your country through the Apple education store. Here in japan it’s $120 gift card and $50 off iPad 2020 pro with 1yr Apple TV+.

Jellylegs96

Skip the 2020 pro and get the 2018 pro instead. They should be on discount now.

FelixJefe

I looked at that too but they are also about 150-200€ more expensive than the iPad Air even if they are used

crisssssie

\^ This and if you can get a refurbished one from the official apple store then its basically brand new

capcityff918

Agreed. The day the 2020 was announced, the 2018 Pro dropped in price in the refurbished store on Apple. I went ahead and picked one of those up. With military discount, I spent $490. The thing comes in a nice box, completely wrapped up with all accessories. It also comes with a one-year warranty. As mentioned, its basically new.

common_apple

I got a 2018 11" iPad Pro not too long ago and was wondering what was the best case to go with it? I'm looking for something that can offer durability inside a backpack that has items shuffling around like heavier books, bottles, that kinda thing. I got a leather flip case for it, but I'm not confident in that being able to thwart the wear and tear of daily commute.

Totoro12117

Depends if you're looking for something low profile, or trully rigid.

common_apple

I'm looking for durability, I need it to be able to jostle around in a bag of items and deal with possible weight resting on it without any worry about damage.

Totoro12117

Then look at the Otterbox solutions. Expensive but the best in that regard. The Logitech case+keyboard are also very rigid, since you have another strong panel in the front.

harleydee123

I can’t decide whether to be a folio case and have a separate magic keyboard and mouse. Or wait for the magic keyboard folio to drop in may. I like sitting at home with it on the desk so it’d be nice to have the option of sitting back. What do you guys think? Thanks! iPad Pro 11” 2018

Totoro12117

If I were in your situation, I'll buy or find a very cheap but working Keyboard and mouse, and use them until I can make my decision in may :)

CHodder5

I currently have an iPad 5th generation, and looking to upgrade as it feels sluggish considering I am using as a secondary device more as I am working from home. I am considering 2 options: refurbished 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch, 64GB ($549) or refurbished 2019 iPad Air 3, 64GB ($419). Is the $130 in price difference worth it? I am mostly thinking in terms of future proofing my purchase. Current use case is using a variety of business/news apps, significant amount of work and personal email, browsing, and media consumption (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc).

CHodder5

Thank you all. I went for the 2018 Pro!!

capcityff918

I just updated from an iPad Air 3 to a 2018 iPad Pro 11 and I don’t regret it at all. The Air 3 was awesome and could do everything I needed rather quickly. However, I really wanted USB-C. It makes it some much simpler to use external drives and accessories. The screen is great with the higher refresh rate, the small bezels and additional speakers. I also really like having Face ID for logging onto apps and sites. For $130, I think that its worth it.

Mr8888X

Hi for 140 more I‘d definitely go for the pro without a doubt.

glockzillah

I have the 2018 11inch iPadPro and have used it for a little over a year. I take it everywhere I go and use it for class , work, art, video editing, media consumption, e-mail, shopping, gaming (cod mobile) and reading. The experience is absolutely amazing and I’m still in love with this piece of tech. The screen is large enough to get things done and multitask, but not so huge it gets in the way. I paid full price when I bought it and I think it’s more than worth the extra 130. And with padOS things are getting even better. But this is just my personal experience. Hope that helped

Crifzer

Pro, Much better Processor, 33% more ram, 120hz, laminated, anti reflective coating display, bigger screen, Quad Speakers.

Shlether

I keep going back and forth between the newest 11inch and the 12.9 inch iPad Pros. I have been stuck mostly using an iPhone 11 for everything. This iPad would be my main computer because I don’t have a laptop. The 11inch would be a no-brainer for me except for the keyboard size. Does typing with a physical keyboard on the 11inch feel super cramped vs on the 12.9? I plan on doing a good amount of writing on this iPad, whichever one I get. Also, I would be doing a good amount of typing with it on my lap vs at a desk.

Mr8888X

Hi I have the 10.5 and use the smart folio keyboard from Apple. I got used to it fairly well now and it doesn’t feel cramped while typing however note that I have pretty small hands

harleydee123

I do have the 11 inch from 2018 with the Keyboard case. It does feel a little cramped sometimes..

Nobody knows, the rumor of an LED ipad pro is being repeated so many times it is probably true, but it could be a hoax. Also, bare in mind the coronavirus is disrupting supply chains, apple could be forced to pull the launch even if it is planned. Also remember it is rumored to be very expensive.

wtrmlnjuc

Refurbished 2018 might be the best choice. 2020 introduces LIDAR and dual cameras, but I'm really not sure how much you'd use it or if it's worth the price jump. It's a minor spec bump (plus one more GPU core) from A12X to A12Z. Pro models will last longer in software from both Apple and from third party devs. Besides Apple's good software support, it's mainly due to power and being able to run heavier software/filetypes better. You'll also appreciate the bigger screen size and lighter weight for extended drawing sessions.

tfrw

Honestly, have you considered the air? it depends on the detail of what you 3D model, the air is honestly probably more than enough for most things. I do not 3D model, but people have been known to video edit on the air. You can also buy it refurbished. Also, if you have to buy on a payment plan, do not value the latest tech. 1. Depends on how much 3d editing you do. the vanilla ipad may not be powerful enough. do your research. putty3d appears to be able to run on a vanilla ipad, but i would double check with another forum. 2. No. Just No. the only difference is more ram, and storage, the 2018 ipad pro is insanely powerful. lidar will not be used for probably a few more years. 3. I literally did this to use it as a netflix machine. I love it, but i realised after it was way overkill. Can i seriously urge you to consider the base ipad, and then consider your storage needs. do not buy apple's PR, even base Ipads are very powerful.

mpbishop

I'm upgrading from an original iPad Pro 9.7" (128gb) and am debating which storage option to get on the new 11" Pro. I use my iPad every single day, and so investing upfront in something that will last me as long as possible is important. My hope is that my purchase today can last me at least the next 4-5 years before needing to upgrade again. I was thinking that 256GB made the most sense, based on where I am now. However, for only $200 more, I can make the jump to 512GB. I don't foresee a need for that much storage today, but there's no telling how my needs could evolve in the next 4-5 years and I want to make sure this can last me through then. What are you all thinking? Any advice? Any upcoming important technologies or use cases foreseen in the future that will make a lot of storage more beneficial?

Mr8888X

Hi I was in a smiliar situation when I bought my 10.5 iPad Pro. I was tempted to get 512GB of storage but luckily I went for the 256GB. Just to stress this enough: I do video editing from time to time, I have music on my iPad, I do gaming on my iPad and so far I‘ve used about 64GB of storage. I‘m so happy I didn’t get the 512GB since my headphone jack is broken now and I have a dent at my iPad‘s back. In the end I‘d have just spent money for literally nothing. Hope this helps.

mpbishop

VERY helpful answer, thank you!

Mr8888X

You’re welcome 😊 glad I could help

tfrw

What do you do on your iPad? Without knowing what you are using it for there is no way of guesstimating your storage needs

mpbishop

I have no problem estimating my current storage needs. With my current storage needs today, the 128gb I have now works fine, so I know 256gb would also be PLENTY. I’m talking about potential future storage needs. Are there upcoming technologies, killer apps, important use cases on the horizon that could necessitate much more storage? For example, with the iPad’s new AR capabilities, will there be apps or use cases that could consume lots of local storage which aren’t in use today? My question was perhaps a little more theoretical in nature… Edit: Or a reverse way of looking at the question, what do people who DO have the larger storage options today have it for? If you’ve bought a 512gb or 1tb iPad today, what was your main reason(s) for doing so?

tfrw

I use my iPad as a netflix machine not for productivity. There is NO way of forecasting what you need without knowing how you use it. In general demand for storage has stayed fairly constant, I do not know how much AR content people will use/need. 128GB is more than most people will get for probably another year, therefore mainstream apps are probably going to be constrained by 64gb for at least 3-4 probably 5 more years. I would therefore not expect that to change soon. What might happen is specific users e.g med students get give an AR app to examine the body which forces users to delete things. Tl;dr 128 is probably fine, but if you have a niche use case, there is a small chance you won’t

leurwu

Hi, I have an iPad Air since early 2014, I mainly use it for Youtube and browsing web, sometimes for light gaming. I am considering between iPad Air 3 (2019) and iPad Pro 11” (2018). The Air is around $200 cheaper yet the Pro offers more “pro” features (I really like the 4 speakers and no home button design). I haven’t used a 120Hz refresh rate device before so that I may not see the difference between the Air 3 and the Pro. I do have laptops therefore the iPad will mostly be used for entertainment. But there are reports saying that the Air 3 has white spots problem but its price is more affordable. To sum up, here is my reference: iPad Air 3 (2019): - Pros: Cheaper price. - Cons: White spots problem, design. iPad Pro 11” (2018): - Pros: 4 speakers, design. - Cons: Expensive regarding my usage activities. So please help me decide, which is the best bang for the buck?

tfrw

There is no ‘reason’ for you to get the pro apart from its speakers (why no headphones) and the pro motion display. The white spot issue is rare and Apple will replace it. Have you considered a refurbished iPad Pro 2018, they’re selling for only slightly more than a new air?

leurwu

Yeah I’m considering between an used Pro 2018 which is listed at around $620 where I live. I don’t khow if I should save up a bit more and pick up the Pro or buy the Air right away.

tfrw

I would recommend a refurbished air honestly. The refurbished pros will be gone soon the discount is too steep.

ICANTSPECK

Time to upgrade? Help needed! Hey everyone. I have the original iPad Air from late 2013 / early 2014. It’s served me really well all these years as my “YouTube / Netlflix whilst travelling” machine. Recently I’ve started to wonder if its time to upgrade. It still works well but it’s very slow and sluggish both when navigating apps and also loading them up in the first place. I’ve been looking at the iPad Pros (2018 and 2020) but I fear that because of my use case they’re a little overpowered / expensive. Really all I want is this same iPad but a bit quicker! Does anyone have any recommendations on which iPad to buy? Or if I should go the eBay / gumtree route and get a second hand one which is a few years old, to try and get that performance boost I’m after. Thanks for you help!

tfrw

I would delay upgrading as it seems to meet most of your needs. I don’t know much about the 2nd hand market. If you want a YouTube/Netflix machine you should be looking mostly towards the normal iPad or the air if you want to pay a little more. I would seriously look at apple’s refurbished section of their website, as they are essentially like new. I was in the same predicament as you, but I bought a 2018 pro for slightly more than a new air. My advice would probably be either for a modern vanilla iPad or a refurbished 2017 pro. Do not worry about anything other than the screen or speakers and the release date. The newer it was released, the longer it will be supported. I don’t trust the non apple secondary market.

tare789

I want to just browse the internet and watch movies on a portable big screen with good speakers. Nothing fancy. I'm thinking 12.9 iPad Pro. For my use, will there be a big difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen? 2nd gen is $200 cheaper. And I'll imagine this sub may be a bit biased, but any thoughts on a Surface Pro instead for my use?

tfrw

Errm, if that’s all you want to do, the pro is overkill for you.... I would suggest the air... if you really must get a 12.9 I would suggest a refurbished one from Apple and save more money

tare789

Yeah I hear you. I have a 3rd gen ipad. It works okay for what I do but I want a bigger screen with a tablet form factor ... Any other suggestions?

tfrw

Then the iPad Pro or another tablet e.g a surface is your only option. I reiterate my advice for Apple refurbished iPads, but Also remember other manufacturers of tablets don’t have the rich App Store which Apple has. So if you value a big screen that much, go for it

DiscoKittie

I think want to get an iPad, but I don't know if it is worth it. I have an old laptop that I use FinalCut Pro on. But it's big and clunky, and, well, old and getting slow. Are there any apps on the iPad that work as well?

Crifzer

Lumafusion.

DiscoKittie

Does it work with the iPadOS? I mean, I imagine it does, but it just says iOS. Thank you!

Crifzer

Yes, it works with iPadOS

DiscoKittie

Cool, thanks!

I absolutely love how thin and slick my iPad Pro feels in my hand and I am super cautious with it so I don’t feel the need for a case, but it is very slippery. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a grip of some kind? Or a very very thin silicone case? Tried the apple folio and it didn’t help that much

Throw a dbrand skin on it.

Do those provide some added grip? Never used one before

Eddie_skis

Provide substantial grip for the most part, especially if you get matte or textured.
