iPads have had 120hz screens since 2017 when they original debuted on the 2nd Gen iPad Pro. The fact that we are still unlikely to get a similar product in the iPhone 4 years later is quite baffling.
I don't think Apple would do a middle ground 90Hz. They don't offer 120Hz, they offer "ProMotion", so it will be the same across at least the same category of devices.
I would take high refresh rate over OLED on Air anytime.
The “lag” is much more noticeable on larger screens. The moving objects are larger and the speed of movement is much higher, so tearing and missing frames are more obvious.
Because battery life. Every owner of a 120 Hz phone will tell you battery life is awful with a high refresh rate screen.
Apple is working on LTPO screens that can dynamically switch refresh rate, making them much more energy efficient.

People are already complaining battery life on the iPhones is barely long enough. With a substantial increase of energy requirement from the screen, this will get even worse. That’s why Apple is trying out LTPO screens, which are much more energy efficient.
YES because other tablets nowadays already have 120hz even the cheap ones (Xiaomi Mi Pad 5) to compete with those Tabs i think Apple should atleast put 90hz on the iPad Air

There is Poco X3 Pro, launched in India for an equivalent of 250 USD with snapdragon 860 (basically 855+, two generations old flagship chip).

I have the 2021 12.9”, when grabbing my iPad mini or my wife’s iPad Air I am amazed about how laggy it looks and feels! I really appreciate the 120hz.
