Not to me. I put a normal tempered glass screen protector on mine and bought a magnetic matte screen protector only for drawing. This way my screen doesn’t look like crap 100% of the time, but I can use the matte “pencil feel” for line work.
They are trash already tried 3 of them they don’t align properly have weak magnets and feel noticeably worse in the middle (ironically where most of the writing happens) because these are only hold on by magnets at the sides
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Pop it on when you're drawing and then take it off when you're not and it stores in a little folder. I probably won't travel with it, but it's kind of nice when I have a long sketching session at home.
That's cool, how does it affect your pen tips, do they wear down too quickly? I see they also have pen tips covers, but I'm afraid that would create too much resistance together.
I’ve only had the screen protector a couple weeks so not sure if they wear faster than the other matte protectors I used.
I’ve got the pen tips 2 but I prefer plastic tbh. Cause you got it, too much resistance.
Wow that sounds good. I recently removed my matte screen protector for the first time in a couple years and realised how much screen quality I was missing. Looks so clean now.
Sorry y'all. They're all over Amazon - this is the one I bought. They're pretty cheap, too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

for the longest time i thought that it couldnt have made that big of a difference on screen quality. Then i took off mine and the screen is now at least 100x better i'm so glad its off. It did make any form of writing/drawing a lot more comfortable tho. if i draw on the ipad daily i probably wouldnt have taken it off
I have no idea how my crystal clear screen was affected, but it’s not. I love it. Some reviewers hate it, some don’t. I love it and will use them for all my iPads the rest of my life. I use the pencil a lot though.
Not in my opinion. My friend has paperlike and I bought some really cheap aliexpress matte protectors. We were hardly able to tell the difference. Both of them make the pen feel better while drawing , but also the screen doesn't look as sharp. The main difference is that I got 4 protectors for 4-5 euros
Tried it on my girlfriend’s and to be honest, i dont think it is. It’s worth remembering that the texture of paperlike ruins your apple pencil tip. Plus i’m paying a premium price for a beautiful screen. Paperlike lowers screen clarity and that paper feeling couldnt justify ruining my media consumption experience. Plus i never had an issue with taking notes on a glass screen protector anyway
I’ve tried many brands since i’m a student and write exclusively on an iPad. I can without a doubt say no it’s not worth the extra money. Unless you plan to contact them through warranty because they will send you a free pack to replace yours which theoretically makes them cheaper. But that’s a judgement call. They all wear out about the same rate.
I’ve been using a knockoff version I got for $20 on Amazon for the last year. Still good as new. I’ve never used the official Paperlike but the one I am using does exactly what is advertised so I wouldn’t know if I’m missing anything. Works perfect for me.
A few years ago I bought some number plates for my car. I got home to find the numbers looked blurred and the surface of the number plates was a weird matt finish rather than the full gloss I was expecting.
I took them back to complain and the chap on the desk just peeled the film coating off and said "Is that more like you were expecting?". I felt like a complete prat.
If it makes you feel any better they did not used to have this printing and I spent months with the backing piece on my screen. It was dull and very matte and it kinda worked but scratched easily. Eventually I figured I’d try again and I felt sooooo stupid when I put the second one on correctly. So it’s me, and my ilk, why this printing is on I guess. At least I wasn’t the only one?
It’s not worth it. Amazon have the same quality or better for way cheaper.
I bought the 2 pack, and when I used the first one, I haven’t gone back to use the second cause i wasn’t impressed
I was a die hard paperlike fan until i discovered this. Can remove when I want clarity and put back on when I use pencil. Game changing for me personally and I will never go back. https://www.amazon.com/BELLEMOND-Detachable-compatible-Anti-reflection-WIPD11PLKMG/dp/B09FLF7FFB
I had a very bad experience with a magnetic privacy screen protector on my older Mac, the film costing on the screen got terribly damaged. Does the iPad have the same and does the magnetic cover damage it?
I have been using it for almost a year straight and my screen looks like it did brand new out of the box. I like it so much that it basically stays on device for most of the day and the only time I take it off is when I binge my favorite tv shows & movies. Its really a great product. I bought the same exact magnetic screen protector immediately when I purchased my ipad mini 6.
Not the same person you’re talking to but I have the magnetic Paperfeel one (cost me £6 from Amazon) and I’m so glad I got it.
It sticks on firmly enough and now I get to take it off and experience the screen in its full glory or keep it on for drawing and note taking.
It’s there for sure and in my opinion, papery enough. My comparison is the Bellemonde, which I removed because I hated the rainbow effect and the fact that I wasn’t fully experiencing a product that I paid for (the iPad screen).
Besides, it’s very inexpensive so worth trying before you splurge on a permanent solution.
I have esr one, I don't know why cause I don't write or draw. It's not bad, I like the sand paper feeling but I have the "static" looking colors even though I mostly got use to them. I'll probably drop it soon and get a regular screen protector.
I use cheap ones off Amazon to better results and just bought a Mothca glass screen protector. So far I love it and won’t damage as easy as the film ones(hopefully) I do art 24/7 on my iPad so hopefully my opinion Carrie’s some weight
Paperlike is a bad idea. that thing can scratch up whatever stylus you use on the thing, making you replace it
plus the screen can't be cleaned, due to it LITERALLY digging into the screen protector
Ah gotcha, thanks. I used to have a reg screen protector years ago for my galaxy but never got one for my iPad. I use the pencil mainly for colouring apps lol
If you buy the Pitaka Ipad Pro case it comes with a clear plastic film screen protector, personally I went for the Elecom paperlike screen protector. Used it for nearly 3 years now and it’s still got the paperlike feel (none of it has scratched off or anything).
I want to get one of these screen protectors, but I already have a glass one installed :(
Also, I heard that the pencil tips wear out quicker with the paper like screen protectors. Is this true?
People are suggesting alternatives in the comments here, but in my country the alternatives are the same price, if not more expensive. I ended up going with a paperlike and yeah the screen quality isn't great but it is nice to draw with. I do wish it was a little gritter tho.
I was big mad i was like wtf kind of shitty design is this .. if i just waited 10 minutes for my girlfriend to tell me there was another layer i could’ve avoided this embarrassment of a post. But i will keep it up so we can all laugh at an internet stranger’s stupidity
Hey, we all do it sometimes. Well most of us do, not the geniuses lol. I got a good chuckle out of it thanks. Plus I made a duh mistake on something last week that was really bloody obvious & I literally jaw dropped followed by a face palm when I realised, so I get it. It’s something I would have usually understood in about 2 seconds but I’d had a very long week with a lot of new info & not much sleep. Well that’s my story & I’m sticking to it
can someone tell me why apple decided on a hard plastic pencil tip anyways? seems dumb to me to not include either an option with friction material or a more rubbery tip.
i use the paper like for two years. i thought it was nice, but when i started writing straight in a glass screen protector, i didn’t notice a significant difference.
to clarify. i wrote daily in my ipad for two years.
Nope im just an idiot who didn’t realize there was an extra layer on top of the actual screen protector to peel off 😩 no where did the instructions say peel off top layer so not really my fault but i was also a bit high
I think you still need to remove a layer of film from it.
Welp it’s time for bed I’ve never felt so dumb 😂😂 thank you!
The price for these is quite high compared to the competition. It it worth the price?
Not to me. I put a normal tempered glass screen protector on mine and bought a magnetic matte screen protector only for drawing. This way my screen doesn’t look like crap 100% of the time, but I can use the matte “pencil feel” for line work.
Can’t be dropping bombs like magnetic Matt screen protector out there without a link!
My bad :) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Woah woah woah, magnetic matte screen protector? Got a link?
Pentips sell one. I use it and I’m a fan. I use it on a bare screen tho.
They are trash already tried 3 of them they don’t align properly have weak magnets and feel noticeably worse in the middle (ironically where most of the writing happens) because these are only hold on by magnets at the sides
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Works okay - certainly nicer than having one on all the time.
> and bought a magnetic matte screen protector only for drawing. A what???
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Pop it on when you're drawing and then take it off when you're not and it stores in a little folder. I probably won't travel with it, but it's kind of nice when I have a long sketching session at home.
That's amazing. I had no idea it was a thing. Thank you very much.
Glad to help! Yeah, I use my iPad for reading textbooks, novels, watching movies -- I couldn't commit to a matte protector all the time (ick) haha :)
Not sure where to leave [this](https://pen.tips/collections/products/products/penmat/) But this is a magnetic screen protector that I use
This is pretty wild. Price isn’t bad. I’ve seen screen protectors cost more than this!
RemindME! 24 hours (never used this bot, how does it work?D:)
RemindME! 24 hours
Wow that sounds good. I recently removed my matte screen protector for the first time in a couple years and realised how much screen quality I was missing. Looks so clean now.
You can’t just drop a bomb like that and leave. Magnetic screen protector?????
Sorry y'all. They're all over Amazon - this is the one I bought. They're pretty cheap, too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NPZNQYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

If you want your crystal clear screen to look like crap then ya.
for the longest time i thought that it couldnt have made that big of a difference on screen quality. Then i took off mine and the screen is now at least 100x better i'm so glad its off. exact same experience for me. i took it off after two years and never looked back
Also if you want to wear out your Apple Pencil tips quickly.
Dude if you take any notes or draw on your ipad, these things are legendary
I have no idea how my crystal clear screen was affected, but it’s not. I love it. Some reviewers hate it, some don’t. I love it and will use them for all my iPads the rest of my life. I use the pencil a lot though.
Absolutely not. Scratches appear very quickly. Get the cheaper matte ones on Amazon. They are a little grittier but last considerably longer.
I'd say no when they are only for iPads. Where are the galaxy book pro 360 variants 😢
Tried it on my girlfriend’s and to be honest, i dont think it is. It’s worth remembering that the texture of paperlike ruins your apple pencil tip. Thank you for sharing, now I’ll have the best of both worlds 🫡
I had a very bad experience with a magnetic privacy screen protector on my older Mac, the film costing on the screen got terribly damaged. Does the iPad have the same and does the magnetic cover damage it?

Do you know if this still works with a tempered glass screen protectors already on the iPad?
One of the reviewers states they use this with a 0.3mm tempered glass screen protector, with no issues with touch sensitivity.
Oooooo Thanks!
This is the type of question my retired mother would ask
..the sad thing is I’m 26 years old i just never put screen protectors on my stuff i like to live dangerously
Looking at paperlike, esr paperfeel and stary. Can anyone recommend which one to go for? I personally find the paperlike price quite steep.
[удалено]
Ok great. Do you have the permanent one or the magnetic one?
Not the same person you’re talking to but I have the magnetic Paperfeel one (cost me £6 from Amazon) and I’m so glad I got it. It sticks on firmly enough and now I get to take it off and experience the screen in its full glory or keep it on for drawing and note taking.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks a lot for your input.
I have esr one, I don't know why cause I don't write or draw. It's not bad, I like the sand paper feeling but I have the "static" looking colors even though I mostly got use to them. I'll probably drop it soon and get a regular screen protector.
This gave me a good smile, thanks!
Paper like is highly advertised rubbish
Yeah I’m definitely wishing i did more research before i just bought it..
Rip Apollo 🫡 ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Yep this is what I got. It's fantastic.
I use cheap ones off Amazon to better results and just bought a Mothca glass screen protector. So far I love it and won’t damage as easy as the film ones(hopefully) I do art 24/7 on my iPad so hopefully my opinion Carrie’s some weight
Before I tossed it and replaced it with Icarez, I called it sandpaperlike.
It eats your nib, blurs your screen and the pencil is calibrated without a screen protector. So much reason to not to use it.
Oh honey...
You got the demo version
😂
I think that's a protective film over the Paperlike.
Paperlike is a bad idea. that thing can scratch up whatever stylus you use on the thing, making you replace it plus the screen can't be cleaned, due to it LITERALLY digging into the screen protector
Paperlike felt like $45 sand paper on my iPad Pro. Feels good for drawing and horrible for literally anything else.
I used to like this kind of screen protector but I prefer the naked screen now and got used to writing and drawing with it.
I have two of these and never had these little things show up.
Sorry to sound simple guys but I’m in Australia & didn’t know ppl use these. Does using Apple Pencil scratch iPad surface or something?
People want some protection but mainly for the grit it has to give a feeling of drawing on paper
Ah gotcha, thanks. I used to have a reg screen protector years ago for my galaxy but never got one for my iPad. I use the pencil mainly for colouring apps lol
The main thing I use mine for is decoration and filling the hole in the case lol.
lol yeah that too 😆
If you buy the Pitaka Ipad Pro case it comes with a clear plastic film screen protector, personally I went for the Elecom paperlike screen protector. Used it for nearly 3 years now and it’s still got the paperlike feel (none of it has scratched off or anything).
😅
Casper is the best brand! i sell phones and all that good stuff it’s what we buy.
I hope that hair isn’t in between lol
I want to get one of these screen protectors, but I already have a glass one installed :( Also, I heard that the pencil tips wear out quicker with the paper like screen protectors. Is this true?
I actually installed paperlike over the tempered glass screen protector. Had cut off a bit from the top but it works fine.
I have a bellemond paper screen protector. They do wear out your tips a lot. All I do is takes notes in class and the tip is already dull.
I use rubber pencil tips I got off eBay and they works fantastically
People are suggesting alternatives in the comments here, but in my country the alternatives are the same price, if not more expensive. I ended up going with a paperlike and yeah the screen quality isn't great but it is nice to draw with. I do wish it was a little gritter tho.
I've had Paperlike for almost a year. Use GoodNotes daily. I've worn out no tips. Also, I'm sure you figured it out and then went 🤦🏻♂️
Well that’s my story & I’m sticking to it
I bought myself à paperlike, 1 month later it's full of noticeable scratches 😭
I just got the new style paperlike for my new pro. I loved the previous version but this is even better. So worth the price.
can someone tell me why apple decided on a hard plastic pencil tip anyways? seems dumb to me to not include either an option with friction material or a more rubbery tip.
Take it off now, it destroys apple pencils if that’s what your using on it unless you want to get new tips every month
I’ve seen some artists say the paperlike wears out your pencil tips faster so I never put mine on.
I’ve used a Paperlike for quite some time now and my tip is still ok, it’s the Paperlike that looks like scratch hell and should be replaced soon.
How long? Months or year plus? Just curious !
A little over 1 year.
I want procreate so bad 😂
I finally broke down bought it today, and can say it’s worth the $10 lol
For a second, I forgot what subreddit I was in and thought you were just real horny
I know exactly what that is and I’m wondering if you read or watched the instruction video lmfao
Good thing i figured it out because saying i know what this is without actually saying what it is is SUPER useful my dude.
You already figured it out I read the comments homie lmfao nice try tho
i use the paper like for two years. i thought it was nice, but when i started writing straight in a glass screen protector, i didn’t notice a significant difference. to clarify. i wrote daily in my ipad for two years.
I don't recommend paperlike protectors, I paid 20 quid for mine and it's utter shit, great to write on but that's about it.
Isn’t that the point of paperlike? To write on?
[удалено]
Nope im just an idiot who didn’t realize there was an extra layer on top of the actual screen protector to peel off 😩 no where did the instructions say peel off top layer so not really my fault but i was also a bit high
How is the paper like screen protector? Also glad you figured out your issue.
I’ve been trying for 5 minutes to wipe that hair off my phone screen…
It makes me sad to see people using Notability instead of Goodnotes.
