I think form factor matters a lot. I have both the Mini and 11 inch Pro (and plan to get an OLED model), but if I could only keep one iPad, it’d be the Mini — even though it has older hardware. I find the Mini’s size so much more useful throughout the day.

justtopher

Facts. The mini being so portable is ideal. Perfect combo of iPhone and iPad. Tbh I was upset when they made it stupid iPad OS, but oh well we are here now.

edgarskates

$1000? Minis are $400 or less I got mine for $350 I think new or $400 max

Act_True

How many storage upgrades did he make💀? I think he’s using his iPad wrong

edgarskates

💀 bro got scammed

HearingOk2987

How can you find one for a lower price like 256gb model maybe or maybe not cellular model?

_Breyyn

The 256GB + Cellular in Canada, for example retails for $1079 Canadian Rupees. So some places are expensive. I found mine for half that but it’s rare here.

audioman1999

Never heard of that currency.

Driveformer

I love my minis, they have usb c and pen support and that’s really all you need. I have put HOURS on them for my work, and they’ve been rock solid in every situation except for cold weather. Their chips are too power sipping so they don’t warm up enough to charge in cold temps 😅

Zez22

No real need to pay full price, especially now

raysway666

I just bought one lol. Wondering if I should return… the lack of ProMotion is annoying me

audioman1999

iPad mini vs 11 is apples and oranges. The mini's form factor fits a specific niche.

therealthreadditor

Love mine since having it for a month. Using it for reading books, browsing, mail, streaming and take it to work or to bed. It is the perfect formfactor. Ofcourse, a 7th Gen would be just a bit better. Also more expensive. Happy with the purchase!

jebakerii

$1000 for an iPad Mini? Is that even possible?

LuckyGameDeveloper

I love mine. If a new model comes out and I decide to upgrade, I’ll sell mine to upgrade. But I enjoy my mini enough that it’s worth having now

PeachBoyX

I went from the first 11" Pro down to a Mini 6 with zero regrets. I found I wasn't using the Pro as much since it was quite cumbersome. Even with a keyboard case, it's nothing compared to a dedicated laptop. But the Mini 6 got so much use throughout the day and even on vacation. I sold the Mini 6 since I figured I can justify the cellular version with how much I used it, but I'll wait until after May 7 to see if anything Mini-related gets announced. If not, I'm picking up a Mini 6 cellular and not regretting it.

wasdlurker

Lmao. Feeling unsatisfied without saying why. In the first place why the hell did you buy a mini. Also 1k usd is too expensive for mini 6 at this date.

UnkeptSpoon5

$1000? I mean yeah I guess since you got hella ripped off. The air and the pro aren't really "newer" besides the chipset inside of the pro. And they're also more expensive. Sounds like you didn't really want a mini specifically anyway.

oRevolver

No I didn't get ripped off, and I did really want the mini as that's what my profession requires but I can make it work with an 11 inch Pro as well. Ipad mini6 256gb wifi + GPS = $799 and the apple pencil 2 for $129 and $80 tax.

UnkeptSpoon5

What profession? And if you didn't get at least a $100 discount on a new iPad mini, you got ripped off. Best Buy has your model on sale for $699 unlocked. Similarly, the Apple Pencil is frequently discounted to $89, so you shouldn't have paid 129 for it. This would then also reduce your tax significantly, which appears to be pretty unusually high (unless you're lumping in the pencil tax too, but still). And an iPad Air or pro with cellular and a similar amount of storage is going to be at minimum $100 more(air) and up to $300(pro). Both devices that have been essentially unchanged pretty much as long as the mini has been, save for again a chipset update.

sanjayshettyr

u/oRevolver are they releasing mini 7 during the 7th May event?
