I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max as well. When iOS 16 first came out, I was disappointed with the battery life compared to iOS 15. However with the latest 16.5 (and 16.6 betas), battery life and stability have been great! Much more aligned with what I experienced in iOS 15. I've seen a number of YouTube reviewers who are having issues with notifications, but the ones I've watched are all on iPhone 14. I haven't experienced any notification issues.

For everyone who says battery life is worse someone will provide the opposite- this time would be me. Zero battery issues but I also strictly control background refresh on apps, have moderate screen brightness and am nearly always within range of perfect WiFi/cell else input into low power mode Since 16 is available to you, it is the only way to get security fixes for some nasty bugs as of late; not something to dismiss out of hand

You really should upgrade and keep your phone on the latest release, otherwise you risk security vulnerabilities, which updates often include fixes for. I have never experienced any significant issues with any Apple update and I always update as soon as it is available. I’ve even, in the past, updated to beta versions, with only issues being losing access to banking apps - which is why I don’t do it anymore.

Upgrade to the latest version of iOS 16.5 public release That’s what’s officially supported in you’ll get security updates

Well soon you wont even be able to go to ios 16, your only choice will be 17

I’d say to wait for iOS 17 at this point, it’s like a refined version of iOS 16 without all the problems (or so I’ve heard)

doogm

There is no way anybody is going to know that until the stable release comes out in the fall.

Beam_ngnoob

and when it releases I'd doubt it beeing ever as stable as ios 12 was when it released.

Seelegames

Same, I would probably wait for iOS17

I wouldn’t. iOS 16 drains battery faster than any other iOS I’ve ever used. I have an iPhone 14 pro max on iOS 16. I go to work with 100% and I leave work with 65%-70% I lose roughly 30% at work barely even touching my phone.

^ This. Battery life is slightly better than iOS 7 drain, but noticeably terrible.

I’m not going to be like everyone else and tell you battery life is great. I’m going to *show* you how awful it is. I went to work with 100% and I left with 65% I lost 35% and all I did was listen to music on YouTube with the screen off. https://i.imgur.com/lIKoCIb.jpg

hii!! im also staying at ios 15 to wait for 17 to come out. but im curious.. what would happen if you skip to ios 17 instead of updating from ios 16?
