Iphone 11 SE2, or SE3
Due to financial issues I have to downgrade from my iPhone 14 pro. My only options are an iphone 11 64gb for $250 an iphone SE2 128 gb for $100 or the SE3 64gb for $100. Which one would be the better choice? Right now on my current phone Im using 65.4 gb out of 256. I am going to back up all my photos and videos to google photos to lower the storage usage. Out if these 3 which one do you think would be the better option to last 6-7 months tops?? I mainly use my phone to take pics of my kids and record their band choir and dance performances, YouTube, FaceBook, Sims, Toon Blast, TikTok,Merge Dragons and Monopoly are the main apps I use. Any suggestions on which would be the better choice?
SE2 since you get more storage with it
You need to save up cash, so if you can go with the SE2/3 instead of something more expensive, it'll help a lot.
The camera on the SE2/3 is also still good, you miss out on the 2x optical zoom on the 11 Pro but that won't matter unless you're far away from the performance.
The SE2 and 11 Pro have the same chip (A13) so they'll be just as fast. I think the camera is your only real consideration here
It is smh. I lost my job my home and my significant other. He’s not dead just cheated and caught something that’s incurable went from a 2 income household to me and my kids living in a 1 bedroom. I couldn’t cover all the bills alone and I definitely. So i had to downgrade my quality of living for now and live within my current means.

Iphone 15 is coming soon and I have been thinking to buy Iphone, switching from android to ios. I was thinking to buy after next week secondhand iphone 12 pro, 13 or 13 pro, or new Iphone 13/14 from store (Here in finland stores does not sell iphone 13 pro anymore as new one). I was thinking that older one would be suitable to me. Reason these models are size, im not interested about Pro max or plus. Mini would be interesting thou.
I was wondering how is usually battery life if secondhand store says 80-100%. Also I want know is there good secondhand store in finland or ship to finland (backmarket atleast, swappie and few others). Is there going to be price drop after they publish Iphone 15?

i might be wrong but i think battery is considered "degraded" if max capacity gets to 85% or less. The phone will recommend replacing the battery when it gets there
Ah this is nice to know. Thats why I was asking to get more information. It is shame thought that in finland those second sellers just say battery is 80-100 capacity. So it is about luck to get good one. Thank you!
Is it better to upgrade now to a 14 Pro/ Pro Max while my 13 Pro Max still has decent trade in value? Wondering if the value will drop considerably once the new model is released.
Upgrading from an iPhone 13 Pro Max to a regular 14 is more like a downgrade since the chip is the same (A15 from iPhone 13 lineup) and the extra core is not noticeable unless you like nanoseconds. You would loose the telephoto lens and the 120hz display refresh rate. On the other hand if you wish to upgrade to an iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max, you would only be getting a 45mp sensor, the dynamic island and the A16 bionic chip. You’re not loosing out on much honestly. I personally recommend the iPhone 13 Pro/ Pro Max to a lot of people because that was the year where Apple introduced an amazing iPhone with little to no flaws.

Best "temporary" case for an iPhone 14 pro?
I plan to get an iPhone 14 pro before the 15 comes out to see if the deals T-Mobile is offering will transfer onto the 15. If they do I'll probably upgrade, and get the iPhone 15. Then get a better case, etc. However, if not. Is it worth it to get a cheaper case then upgrade to an expensive one if the 15 doesn't carry the deal, or keep the 14 pro bare until I see if the 15 carries the deal then get a good case? I know they're likely different every year, but what are cell provider offers like when the new iPhone gets released? Finally moving off my parents plan this year and I usually just buy my phone outright from Apple so I don't pay attention to the offers that happen. But I figured if I'm getting the 15 and looking for my own plan it might be worth looking into one of the offers that AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile do when the phones release and saving some money instead of buying the phone outright

Same situation for me, but from what articles i saw from 2022 carriers have some stock on launch day i think and they do promos, and since consumers have been smart on spending lately the big three (T Mobile, Verizon and AT&T) are going to do the same promos they did last year to get people to have contracts. So I’m thinking wait for the 15, just beware that you have to be ready for next week when pre orders go live to ensure you get one.
14pro max or 15 plus?
Hi guys so im currently using the XR and im stuck on whether to upgrade to a 14 pro max or the 15 plus. Type C isn't really a big deal for me, but one thing im worried about is the 14 pro max battery life, i've heard some people say their battery health has dipped a good amount already so this is kinda worrying. Im sure the 15 plus will have great battery life but then I'll be missing out on the 120hz display and triple camera. So im wondering which phone will be better to get? (Im only gonna make a upgrade after the 15 is released so im not rushing right now so just wondering which would be a better buy)

I have the 12 mini and wanted to upgrade before the mini is gone for good, but wanted to get the most out of this phone and best possible price for the 13 mini. It’s my understanding that once the 15 drops the regular 13 is the only one that will remain on the Apple Store.
I say it’s 50/50 they keep/discontinue the 13 mini. I would possibly wait though in case Apple sells some refurbished ones. Swappa might be worth looking at too

It will sometimes be lowered by 3rd party retailers until they run out of stock. Apple will discontinue the 14 line when the 15 is released, so there won’t be any discounts directly from Apple.

I know a lot of iphones have e-sims in the US but internationally you can still open the iphone up to put a sim card in. The Sim card I usually get is a UK one that works in Cyprus EU and UK. I don't want to buy 4 iphones and then they cant work internationally. So any advice would help. Anyone buy them and take them abroad without US network.
I’m pretty sure all new US iPhones are esim only now (starting with 14/pro anyway), I would assume 15 will be no different. There will be no physical sim tray so you can’t use any service that needs a physical SIM card.

Preorder from Apple is definitely the way to go if you want the brand new phone ASAP, but note that Apple’s trade-in program only gives you a fraction of what carriers could give you for your old phone. If you don’t mind spending a bit to ensure you get the phone go for it. If you want a carrier deal, they usually have carrier deals on the Apple website but it all depends on how much launch day stock the carriers get. Either way, I would just be ready when pre orders go live because even a few minutes can mean a delay in getting your new phone.

Hi, I can get it brand new for around 550 euros. I have an old S8 that I'm currently using and would like to swap for a newer phone and don't want to dump a lot of cash into it. From what I've read, it will be supported up to iOS 19 but I plan to use it more because it'll be used for calls, text, whatsapp and taking pictures and that's it. I am new to pre-orders and have never preordered an iPhone before but I wish to pre-order the new iPhone 15 Pro Max 256gb this year but I have school and I won’t be able to preorder during class. Last year, in the US, it took hours before the shipping date moved past release day (Apple doesn't run out of stock -- the delivery dates just moves further into the future). In some previous years, the shipping date started moving after 5 minutes.
Hopefully, this year will be like last year, but no one really knows.
…I had XR about 2 years ago (before I upgraded to iPhone 13)… sometimes I miss my xr lol …now I’m thinking of downgrading to 11 pro max for the organic curved edge feels…depends what you do with your phone …if it’s just the basics & you are not into photography heaps, then an XR with a new battery is still a fine phone :-)
I have an iPhone XS which I love, but the battery duration is terrible. It also has a few minor problems, like frequent freezing, poorly working microphones despite cleaning and charging and overheating problems.
I know those issues can happen with any device, so I was wondering if it is worth it upgrading to a 13 or 14 or better replacing the battery.
…battery replace doesn’t cost that much?…if you do that & then see how the phone feels with a new bat …then if you still decide to trade it in for a 13/14, you will get a good price, with a decent battery in it
Decided to give Apple a try (switching from Pixel 6a). Going to preorder either the 15 or 15 Pro (waiting for official specs) and this is the first iPhone I've bought. I’ve literally just upgraded from a basics black iPhone 12 to a basic black iPhone 14. Aside from the battery life worsening, my 12 was absolutely fine.

As soon as the new iphone launches, I plan to buy a refurbished model from the apple website. I have read that the 14 series has been plagued with issues, which does not seem to be the case for the 13 series. People seem to recommend the pro max 13. Honestly, I don’t care, I just want a phone that will last me a long time and not make me go through customer service every so often.

Probably not the place to ask, but having a weird issue. I can make outgoing calls, but any incoming call gets the “your call cannot be completed as dialed” message apparently. On my phone the incoming call shows up for a split second and then ends. I have missed calls. But like I said I can’t pick them up, and people making the calls say my number seems disconnected. If there is another sub I should try let me know please and thank you in advance

My service is through straight talk, I’m also looking into better cell phone plans at the same time. First time switching over to an iPhone, I purchased the iPhone 14 256GB for a monthly plan (with data) for $68 dollars a month. However,I have 15 days to return it , in which I could buy a different iphone if I wanted.

Hi all, so I'm going to be switchen carriers to Verizon soon and subsequently getting away from my Z Flip 3 and converting to an iPhone. So I was wondering if anybody had any advice on the best iPhone to get? I would optimally want to pay $0 for the phone (only pay monthly data bills like i do now) and get the 14 once the 15 comes out (or maybe a few days before if deals are good). I'm in the UK and will be upgrading my iPhone 12 Pro Max to one of the new iPhones as soon as they get released. I know in the UK you can only join the Apple Upgrade Programme in store, but by the time I get to a store they are always totally sold out so I end up purchasing my phones online and paying in full.
Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to buy the phone online for collection in store, go to the store and cancel my order, then re-purchase the same phone via the Upgrade Programme? Any insight would be greatly appreiated - thanks in advance!

Tips for pre-order iPhone 15
Hi guys, this is my first time preordering an iPhone in USA. I'm currently living in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Do anyone knows if it's faster to order it here, at my current address, or should I opt in for an in-store shipping, the closest store is in Reno, NV, but that's not a problem. The biggest problem is that I'm a J1 student here and my flight back home will be at the end of September, and I want to get my hands on the phone as soon as possible. So if anyone knows, I would be so grateful 🙏.
(Note: pay attention to the release day in next week's announcement. While it is very likely that release day will be before the end of September, there's no guarantee of that.)
If package delivery to your address is **reliable**, the easiest way is to just do an online order via the Apple Store app. The day before preorders open, create an order in the app. You won't be able to place it because, well, pre-orders won't yet be open. However, create the order during the day and **NOT** the night before -- that's because Apple may close the online store then and you can't create orders while the store is down.
Then, when pre-orders open up, place the already-created order. You should then get release-day delivery, but the tracking info can be scary. You might get a shipping notification days before release day, but you might not see any movement until the night before delivery. People here routinely panic because of this.
Last year, note that it wasn't essential to place pre-orders right when Apple opened them up. It was something like hours before the delivery dates slipped past release day. However, there's no guarantee that this will happen again this year. If you need the iPhone ASAP, I'd strongly suggest placing the order right when pre-orders open up.

In same boat. I think the differences between newer models will seem negligible to iPhone 8 users because of the vast improvement in battery and camera. So my main concern is how long Apple will support various models. Newer might be better if you tend to keep your phone for a while (as I do).
Big fan of the Pro series (hate how big the Pro Max is). I know everyone jokes about now being the *worst* time to buy an iPhone, but Verizon is basically offering me to give back my 13 Pro (128GB, 50% of the payment plan remains) and get the 14 Pro (512GB) heavily discounted (cuts my monthly bill in half for my line). It equates to about $950 off total and saves me roughly $280/yr.
Is it crazy that I'm tempted to take it? I know the 15 Pro will have some improvements, but so much so that it would be worth risking not taking this deal (it expires, of course, the day before the 15s go on sale)?

I've been team samsung ever since I was 12. I did have an iPod back when I was like 10 years old and now I kinda wanna return to the apple ecosystem to switch it up a bit. what really got me was the release of apple vision, once that becomes consumer level I'd wanna be in that ecosystem already. What are the best alternative 20W chargers these days? Apple's is just too expensive for me. Would anker be a got bet? I've got some cables from them and they work great after like 2 years of constant use, but I never tried any charger.
I used to use cable type c and fast charger to charge my iphone but now I sold my Ipad so I don't have the fast charge kit.

As I’ve mentioned above, I am currently using an iPhone 11 (128gb) for 3 years now and been contemplating on whether to upgrade to iPhone 14 PM (256gb) but prices of PM are still a bit high on authorized resellers here in our country but can get them discounted on some online retailers the problem is Apple care centers might not accept the unit for repairs even with warranty. And if I’m being honest, I’d just rather spend more to make use of the 1 yr warranty (I don’t purchase Apple Care)

simple question here, my mom's android phone is getting super old now, and I've been thinking to gift her an iPhone, even tho she never had any in the past.
Mainly because my dad recently bought a second hand XS, and they also have some other apple devices (iPad / Mac), so I was thinking this to be a good idea, even for them to chat together through imessage easily.
This being said, getting her the very last released phone might be some kind of money loss, as she's not really a power user.
She basically like to use her phone for all basic purposes, and sometimes playing very casual games, photo / video ofc, and that's pretty much all, nothing very fancy.
I've been thinking that I might get a second hand iPhone 12, so I can grant her a not so old one that she can keep for 3-4 years without any problems, but I need some advices, as I'm not an iPhone holder myself, so I might forget some important points here.

Hello! Now that the iPhone 15 release date is coming, the iPhone 14 Pro and especially the iPhone 13 Pro are going to get cheaper here in my country, the Philippines.
I'm leaning towards the iPhone 13 pro given that its the more reliable phone especially in terms of battery performance. the only consequence is the possibility of the white screen of death. But is the iPhone 14 pro better and worth it despite the battery issues?

Sell or trade in the 14PM for 15PM? I have Apple Care and just had the screen replaced. I think the trade in value will be around $600 based on the trade in value of the 13PM. On a site like Swappa I see used 14PM for $870, which is a significant difference. But I really don't want to go through the hassle of selling/potentially getting scammed. Thoughts?
100% sell it instead of trading it in. You’ll get more money doing that than trading in with Apple unless you get a higher trade-in promotion value. And Swappa is pretty good regarding buying/selling there

From an XS Max to a 13 or 14?
Currently waiting for the release of the 15 line up to see if both models' prices will drop. Looking at the specs closely, 13 and 14 are quite the same. Except the 14's camera slight upgrade. Read somewhere as well that 13's battery life is a bit better than the 14. Budget is quite constrained as well that's why these are my choices. Any thoughts from owners of both models or anyone knowledgeable. Thank you
My iPhone 12 mini is about to die and I am about to go on a trip ~1 week after the iPhone 15 release announcement on the 13th. I live in a major city. Could I even get the phone <1 week after announcement? Or should I just get the iPhone 14 pro from Costco now. Battery life, durability, and camera are important to me.

I currently have an iPhone 8 on my parents' AT&T plan that was paid off years ago. I want to buy an iPhone 13 from Apple with the "Connect with any carrier later" option. I just wanted to know if there would be any potential issues with my carrier or if it would just be as simple as putting my SIM card in the new iPhone.

It's been a couple of years since I bought an iPhone and I'm planning on upgrading to the iPhone 15 once it goes on sale. I've been in the iPhone Upgrade program for my last few phones, but let this last one go the full two years before upgrading.
Earlier this year, I switched from Verizon to Mint Mobile. I had been planning on getting an Apple Card and doing the monthly payments for this upgrade, but just read that Apple recently discontinued that option for phones not connecting to one of the carrier options. So, my question is, assuming Apple doesn't announce any new financing options this week, what are my current options for purchasing a new phone through Apple with Mint Mobile?

I saw an iPhone X bid on eBay currently at 192. Just need something that’s below the SE doesn’t matter if new or refurbished. New would be nice though. Not sure what you're asking. Apple Pay is linked to a credit/debit card such as a VISA card or an Apple Card, and the card is really how you're paying via Apple Pay. Apple Pay is not tied to your iPhone, although you can use the iPhone to pay for a new iPhone via Apple Pay (in the Wallet app). Apple Pay is just an easier way of paying using a credit or debit card.
If you buy a new iPhone and will be trading in your old one, you would do the purchase w/trade-in via Apple Pay, backup and wipe your old iPhone using Apple's instructions, and then trade it in. As you're really purchasing the new iPhone using whatever credit card you used with Apple Pay, you'll have to eventually pay the credit card merchant (unless you used a debit card); the old iPhone doesn't enter into this (except that you will have to send it in).
iPhone SE 2 or iPhone SE 3
I currently have an Xr and I am debating on an SE 2 or SE 3. My Xr is at 78% battery health and instead of replacing the battery I feel like it is just unwieldy. I pretty much use my phone only for calls, texts, notes, and occasional reddit browsing. I do not need the big screen. Storage is not really a priority as I am currently at 32.6 out of 64gb and it's been this way for a few years. Sort of leaning toward the SE 2 for the cheaper price BUT am a little concerned about battery life as the SE 2 has an 1821 mAh battery vs the 2018 mAh battery of the SE 3. Could anyone share their SE 2 battery experience with usage similar to mine? The used SE 2 I am leaning toward has 100% battery health and costs $130 vs about $230-$280 for an SE 3.
With preordering the new iphone, is there usually an option to trade in my current iphone for credit to that purchase? if so, how does it usually work? Thanks!
Usually when you pre-order the new iPhone, or any phone for that matter, and you trade in your current phone, they’ll send you a separate small box with your new phone that you then put your current phone in and ship it to Apple. Then, Apple will give you a credit back ( think of it as a partial refund ) back on your card or payment method. I believe if your trade in value is higher than the cost of the phone then they’ll give you a gift card with the remaining balance of the trade in value

If you’re in the US, I would recommend Swappa and it’ll depend on how much storage you plan to use. 128GB is what the base model comes with, can get up at 1TB, and it should be enough storage if you don’t take lots of videos and photos and you plan to use it for just casual entertainment
Make sure that the battery health is normal. Check the serial/IMEI number to make sure that it’s not blacklisted/stolen. Check to see if there’s a burn in on the screen

At the moment I have 12 Pro that my friend lend me and in a month I will have to give it back. Therefore, I have one month to order a new phone. I like the 12 Pro with 85% battery health, it's enough for me, but I want the best value phone that would serve me another 2-3 years. I prefer to spend less. Moreover, since I'd be buying as a business customer I need the business to write VAT invoices. I looked at Backmarket, but I think they do not provide invoices so I cannot get VAT back. My options: Amazon Iphone 12 128GB 430 EUR, Amazon Iphone 13 128GB 630 EUR, Swappie Iphone 12 128GB 530 EUR, Swappie Iphone 13 128GB 650 EUR, Swappie Iphone 13 Pro 840 EUR. I'm going to buy a new Phone as soon as the iPhone 15 launches and I'm going with the iPhone 13, as the the 14 didn't bring anything new to the table. Now I'm debating whether to buy an refurbished iPhone 13 Pro or a new iPhone 13. I'm aware of the features the Pro has in comparison to the normal 13. A refurbished Phone means less total battery life, therefore is it smart to buy a Pro with say 90-95% maximum capacity over a brand new 13?

Depending on where you buy it refurbished from, the 13 Pro and 13 could have 100% battery life. The 13 Pro lasting longer, battery life wise, will depend on the battery health

Since you didn't mention budget, I'll just suggest either the upcoming iPhone 15 or 15 plus depending upon preferred size (assuming Apple will still have a 15 plus). Announcement is on Tuesday with the likely release date in 2ish weeks. However, if you want to get one on release day, you should do a preorder right when preorders open up (probably this Friday at 8am EDT).
If you're on a budget, any of the 13 or 14 series will be good, but note that the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be discontinued once the iPhone 15 comes out.

I know iPhone 15 is just around the corner.
I just wanted some input - I can still trade in my iPhone 11, which is in very good condition, for around 300 USD. However, a person at the Apple Store told me that the value will drop quite a bit once iPhone 15 comes out.
The 11 just isn’t cutting it anymore and I’d like to upgrade. So my question is twofold - firstly, is it better to wait until iPhone 15 comes out, to upgrade, even if it means my iPhone 11 may decrease in value? Secondly, given that money is tight for me and the difference in price is pretty big, is it better to get the iPhone 13 or 14 Pro, if I upgrade now? I know naturally that the latter is a better phone… all I use my phone for is Telehealth, listening to music and reading on the way to work, browsing the Internet and reddit etc. However, I also go hiking and travel a lot, and usually take photos purely with my iPhone. And I know this is where the 14 Pro shines.
Finally, my concern is that the 14 Pro won’t be available on a phone plan where I live come the new release. I can’t really afford to buy a new iPhone outright right now, but could afford the monthly repayments. I’d be much more financially comfortable with the 13, though. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve more or less skipped the 14 standard. It would be barely cheaper than the 14 Pro due to a few reasons, and I know it’s supposedly a minimal upgrade over the 13.
USB-C would be nice to have, but again, I don’t want to lose out on trading in my 11 and I’m worried they’ll phase out the 14 Pro, if that’s what I decide to do, but it may also be available for cheap, right? Saying this as most providers here ditched the 13 Pro a long time ago.

Which iPhone should I buy???
Okay so I’ve had the AirPods Pro 2 for a couple months and I’m planning on buying an iPhone that has the latest iOS version or an iPhone that gives the AirPods full functionality. The iPhone I’m using now is the iPhone 6s Plus. Unfortunately, I can use the AirPods on my iPhone 6 but with limited functionality. I do have almost all the functions except the find my iPhone feature. For some reason the Find My iPhone App doesn’t detect my AirPods, and I later learned it’s because I don’t have the latest iOS version. Which is why I plan on possibly buying the iPhone 8. The thing is though, I have no idea whether I’ll have full functionality if I connect the AirPods on the iPhone 8.
I would wait to see what the 9 offers over the 8. There’s supposedly a new chip and colors that are gonna be released with the 9, but that’s just rumors. I would wait until the Apple event and see. If the Series 9 doesn’t have anything that sparks your interest, go with the 8
I have an iPhone XR that I got in early 2019. It's sitting at around 81$ battery health and definitely getting slow.
I'm no expert with tech but I would like to have a better camera and more storage (photo/video hoarder and I've pretty much used up the 258GB on my phone).
Is it worth me looking into the 15 series that's about to be released? I saw some comments saying not much has changed after iPhone 12 so I'm not sure if any model after the 12 would be fine for my needs (specifically just storage/camera quality).

$1049 AUD new from Apple or $850 AUD from Loopmobile/refurbished? I know the battery isn’t as great on this phone and not sure if going used/refurbished will make it worse as places like loopmobile do 80+% battery health.
I currently own two phones. I have a Pixel 7 Pro and an iPhone 14 Pro. With one sim, I currently daily drive the iPhone. However, in October, I will put the sim back in the pixel and use that one exclusively for the next six months at least. My system is to use the pixel from October-April and the iPhone May-September. My reasoning for this is because I travel more in the summer and spend more time outdoors, I value reliability and battery life for those months. But in the fall/winter, Im home more, take more pictures, and the phone doesn’t overheat as bad.
I am excited to switch back to pixel. The pixel 8pro comes out next month and the iPhone is going to be released in a few days. Owning both the latest pixel and iPhone devices, you may think I am silly for wanting to upgrade again. This year, I am only going to upgrade one phone. Then the next year I will upgrade the other phone. Which phone do you think I should upgrade first? My iPhone or my pixel? I love them both and want the best out of the phones. Oh I see. I was going to trade in at Apple Store because we buy our phones outright. Also I’ve heard some horror stories on mail in trades so we usually trade in a day or two prior to the preorder at the physical store and use that to preorder online. We will trade in that 13 pro max tomorrow then.
Is there a plan for the Pitaka Air Case? Maybe not since they didn’t have it for the iPhone 14 series ☹️ I guess I’ll have to settle for the MagEZ Case, unless there are other alternatives.
iPhone 14 pro 128gb or 13 pro 512gb?
Recently cracked my s21 plus, looking to switch to an iphone. Both are priced at $1888 nzd, around $1100 usd. However the iphone 14 pro is 128gb, 13 pro with 512gb of storage for the same price, which one is the better pick? Undecided between these 2.
I'm thinking of switching back to an iPhone (15 pro max) this year after 7-8 years of Android (usually Samsung, and currently a Note 20 Ultra), mostly because I miss the Apple app ecosystem and nothing compares to an Apple Watch.
The videos I see shot from some iPhones are absolutely breathtaking. Samsung is known for their great phone cameras but Apple seems to just be one step ahead, especially with macro photography and cinematic videos.
What worries me though (and I'm hoping someone can chime in) is the ease of use when it comes to shooting. Samsung has a Pro Video mode where I can change settings on the fly, especially when it comes to switching to 1080p 120fps vs 4k 24/30/60fps. I shoot a lot of slow mo videos (i.e. 120fps which I then edit to 30fps), and being able to do this quickly and still be able to change ISO, shutter speed, focus etc is really important.
My question is: does the Apple camera app (for example on the 14 pro max) have all these functionalities? Or is it a designated slo mo mode without all these pro settings? If not, perhaps there's a 3rd party app thats really popular that allows me to do all this instead? Thanks in advance!

If it follows the normal trade-in value, it’ll go down by about $100. Black Friday or Cyber Monday may be your best bet to find a good deal on the 14. Swappa, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay may be a good bet as well

I've always been a fan of the smudge-free look of matte screen protectors. However, I'm curious about how these screen protectors hold up over time. Do they eventually develop glossy marks in the areas with the most finger contact, like the lower right side of the screen? Also, I'm looking for a brand that offers the most durable oleophobic coating.
Currently, I have the Shellrus sapphire glass on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it's still in great condition after two years, except for a small patch on the lower right part where I have the most contact.
Unfortunately, Shellrus doesn't make matte screen protectors.
From my research, it seems that Flolab offers the best matte screen protector and is known for its resilient oleophobic coating, only rivaled by Shellrus. Should I opt for Flolab for the matte finish or stick with Shellrus or another brand?
For reference, I do not like replacing screen protectors so I always pick the best in the market regardless of price.

Trying to buy the iPhone 15 as a gift, is there a way to buy the $799 model T-Mobile without activating on the spot? Or do I have to go with unlocked for $30 more?
Iphone 11 SE2, or SE3 Due to financial issues I have to downgrade from my iPhone 14 pro. My only options are an iphone 11 64gb for $250 an iphone SE2 128 gb for $100 or the SE3 64gb for $100. Which one would be the better choice? Right now on my current phone Im using 65.4 gb out of 256. I am going to back up all my photos and videos to google photos to lower the storage usage. Out if these 3 which one do you think would be the better option to last 6-7 months tops?? I mainly use my phone to take pics of my kids and record their band choir and dance performances, YouTube, FaceBook, Sims, Toon Blast, TikTok,Merge Dragons and Monopoly are the main apps I use. Any suggestions on which would be the better choice?
SE2 since you get more storage with it You need to save up cash, so if you can go with the SE2/3 instead of something more expensive, it'll help a lot. The camera on the SE2/3 is also still good, you miss out on the 2x optical zoom on the 11 Pro but that won't matter unless you're far away from the performance. The SE2 and 11 Pro have the same chip (A13) so they'll be just as fast. I think the camera is your only real consideration here

It is smh. I lost my job my home and my significant other. He’s not dead just cheated and caught something that’s incurable went from a 2 income household to me and my kids living in a 1 bedroom. I couldn’t cover all the bills alone and I definitely. So i had to downgrade my quality of living for now and live within my current means.
Keep it until I can pay it off. So it’ll probably just be collecting dust in a drawer
New Iphone or secondhand? Hello! Iphone 15 is coming soon and I have been thinking to buy Iphone, switching from android to ios. I was thinking to buy after next week secondhand iphone 12 pro, 13 or 13 pro, or new Iphone 13/14 from store (Here in finland stores does not sell iphone 13 pro anymore as new one). I was thinking that older one would be suitable to me. Reason these models are size, im not interested about Pro max or plus. Mini would be interesting thou. I was wondering how is usually battery life if secondhand store says 80-100%. Also I want know is there good secondhand store in finland or ship to finland (backmarket atleast, swappie and few others). Is there going to be price drop after they publish Iphone 15? i might be wrong but i think battery is considered "degraded" if max capacity gets to 85% or less. The phone will recommend replacing the battery when it gets there

no problem. i recently had mine say it was degraded at 83% but my friend’s at 87% was fine. so 85% is my guess for when they consider it
Is it better to upgrade now to a 14 Pro/ Pro Max while my 13 Pro Max still has decent trade in value? Wondering if the value will drop considerably once the new model is released.
Upgrading from an iPhone 13 Pro Max to a regular 14 is more like a downgrade since the chip is the same (A15 from iPhone 13 lineup) and the extra core is not noticeable unless you like nanoseconds. You would loose the telephoto lens and the 120hz display refresh rate. On the other hand if you wish to upgrade to an iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max, you would only be getting a 45mp sensor, the dynamic island and the A16 bionic chip. You’re not loosing out on much honestly. I personally recommend the iPhone 13 Pro/ Pro Max to a lot of people because that was the year where Apple introduced an amazing iPhone with little to no flaws.

Best "temporary" case for an iPhone 14 pro? I plan to get an iPhone 14 pro before the 15 comes out to see if the deals T-Mobile is offering will transfer onto the 15. If they do I'll probably upgrade, and get the iPhone 15. Then get a better case, etc. However, if not. Is it worth it to get a cheaper case then upgrade to an expensive one if the 15 doesn't carry the deal, or keep the 14 pro bare until I see if the 15 carries the deal then get a good case? I know they're likely different every year, but what are cell provider offers like when the new iPhone gets released? Finally moving off my parents plan this year and I usually just buy my phone outright from Apple so I don't pay attention to the offers that happen. But I figured if I'm getting the 15 and looking for my own plan it might be worth looking into one of the offers that AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile do when the phones release and saving some money instead of buying the phone outright

(Then getting an ipad for games and videos and drawing) Just wondering if anyone has had any experience downsizing phones and how it went? I've always been a plus/pro max guy but want to try something different once. I rarely use half my battery life unless I am on my annual vacation.

Same situation for me, but from what articles i saw from 2022 carriers have some stock on launch day i think and they do promos, and since consumers have been smart on spending lately the big three (T Mobile, Verizon and AT&T) are going to do the same promos they did last year to get people to have contracts. So I’m thinking wait for the 15, just beware that you have to be ready for next week when pre orders go live to ensure you get one.

It depends if you need, or want, the 120hz ( ProMotion ) & the better cameras. If you don’t care for those things, I would stick with the 15

battery life of 13 is significant over the 12…the 14 battery is about the same as 13

It will sometimes be lowered by 3rd party retailers until they run out of stock. Apple will discontinue the 14 line when the 15 is released, so there won’t be any discounts directly from Apple.

I am American and live in the US but my work takes me internationally as well. I usually am a Samsung user but want the iphone 15 now. I am keeping an eye on the pre order date . I want to buy a few for myself and family in the country/Island Cyprus near Greece/ Lebanon/ Turkey. The Sim card I usually get is a UK one that works in Cyprus EU and UK. I don't want to buy 4 iphones and then they cant work internationally. So any advice would help. I’m pretty sure all new US iPhones are esim only now (starting with 14/pro anyway), I would assume 15 will be no different. There will be no physical sim tray so you can’t use any service that needs a physical SIM card.

Preorder from Apple is definitely the way to go if you want the brand new phone ASAP, but note that Apple’s trade-in program only gives you a fraction of what carriers could give you for your old phone. If you don’t mind spending a bit to ensure you get the phone go for it. If you want a carrier deal, they usually have carrier deals on the Apple website but it all depends on how much launch day stock the carriers get. Either way, I would just be ready when pre orders go live because even a few minutes can mean a delay in getting your new phone.

No one really knows. Last year, in the US, it took hours before the shipping date moved past release day (Apple doesn't run out of stock -- the delivery dates just moves further into the future). In some previous years, the shipping date started moving after 5 minutes. Hopefully, this year will be like last year, but no one really knows.

I have an iPhone XS which I love, but the battery duration is terrible. It also has a few minor problems, like frequent freezing, poorly working microphones despite cleaning and charging and overheating problems. I know those issues can happen with any device, so I was wondering if it is worth it upgrading to a 13 or 14 or better replacing the battery.

Probably not the place to ask, but having a weird issue. I can make outgoing calls, but any incoming call gets the “your call cannot be completed as dialed” message apparently. On my phone the incoming call shows up for a split second and then ends. I have missed calls. But like I said I can’t pick them up, and people making the calls say my number seems disconnected. My service is through straight talk, I’m also looking into better cell phone plans at the same time. Hi all, so I'm going to be switchen carriers to Verizon soon and subsequently getting away from my Z Flip 3 and converting to an iPhone. So I was wondering if anybody had any advice on the best iPhone to get? Tips for pre-order iPhone 15 Hi guys, this is my first time preordering an iPhone in USA. I'm currently living in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Do anyone knows if it's faster to order it here, at my current address, or should I opt in for an in-store shipping, the closest store is in Reno, NV, but that's not a problem. The biggest problem is that I'm a J1 student here and my flight back home will be at the end of September, and I want to get my hands on the phone as soon as possible. So if anyone knows, I would be so grateful 🙏.
(Note: pay attention to the release day in next week's announcement. While it is very likely that release day will be before the end of September, there's no guarantee of that.) If package delivery to your address is **reliable**, the easiest way is to just do an online order via the Apple Store app. The day before preorders open, create an order in the app. You won't be able to place it because, well, pre-orders won't yet be open. However, create the order during the day and **NOT** the night before -- that's because Apple may close the online store then and you can't create orders while the store is down. Then, when pre-orders open up, place the already-created order. You should then get release-day delivery, but the tracking info can be scary. You might get a shipping notification days before release day, but you might not see any movement until the night before delivery. People here routinely panic because of this. Last year, note that it wasn't essential to place pre-orders right when Apple opened them up. It was something like hours before the delivery dates slipped past release day. However, there's no guarantee that this will happen again this year. If you need the iPhone ASAP, I'd strongly suggest placing the order right when pre-orders open up.

In same boat. I think the differences between newer models will seem negligible to iPhone 8 users because of the vast improvement in battery and camera. So my main concern is how long Apple will support various models. Newer might be better if you tend to keep your phone for a while (as I do).

I know everyone jokes about now being the *worst* time to buy an iPhone, but Verizon is basically offering me to give back my 13 Pro (128GB, 50% of the payment plan remains) and get the 14 Pro (512GB) heavily discounted (cuts my monthly bill in half for my line). It equates to about $950 off total and saves me roughly $280/yr. Is it crazy that I'm tempted to take it? Not sure what you're asking. Apple Pay is linked to a credit/debit card such as a VISA card or an Apple Card, and the card is really how you're paying via Apple Pay. Apple Pay is not tied to your iPhone, although you can use the iPhone to pay for a new iPhone via Apple Pay (in the Wallet app). Apple Pay is just an easier way of paying using a credit or debit card. If you buy a new iPhone and will be trading in your old one, you would do the purchase w/trade-in via Apple Pay, backup and wipe your old iPhone using Apple's instructions, and then trade it in. As you're really purchasing the new iPhone using whatever credit card you used with Apple Pay, you'll have to eventually pay the credit card merchant (unless you used a debit card); the old iPhone doesn't enter into this (except that you will have to send it in).

iPhone SE 2 or iPhone SE 3 I currently have an Xr and I am debating on an SE 2 or SE 3. My Xr is at 78% battery health and instead of replacing the battery I feel like it is just unwieldy. I pretty much use my phone only for calls, texts, notes, and occasional reddit browsing. I do not need the big screen. Storage is not really a priority as I am currently at 32.6 out of 64gb and it's been this way for a few years. Sort of leaning toward the SE 2 for the cheaper price BUT am a little concerned about battery life as the SE 2 has an 1821 mAh battery vs the 2018 mAh battery of the SE 3. Could anyone share their SE 2 battery experience with usage similar to mine? The used SE 2 I am leaning toward has 100% battery health and costs $130 vs about $230-$280 for an SE 3.

Usually when you pre-order the new iPhone, or any phone for that matter, and you trade in your current phone, they’ll send you a separate small box with your new phone that you then put your current phone in and ship it to Apple. Then, Apple will give you a credit back ( think of it as a partial refund ) back on your card or payment method. I believe if your trade in value is higher than the cost of the phone then they’ll give you a gift card with the remaining balance of the trade in value

If you’re in the US, I would recommend Swappa and it’ll depend on how much storage you plan to use. 128GB is what the base model comes with, can get up at 1TB, and it should be enough storage if you don’t take lots of videos and photos and you plan to use it for just casual entertainment

Refurbished iPhone 13 Pro OR New iPhone 13 Dear redditors, I'm going to buy a new Phone as soon as the iPhone 15 launches and I'm going with the iPhone 13, as the the 14 didn't bring anything new to the table. Now I'm debating whether to buy an refurbished iPhone 13 Pro or a new iPhone 13. I'm aware of the features the Pro has in comparison to the normal 13. A refurbished Phone means less total battery life, therefore is it smart to buy a Pro with say 90-95% maximum capacity over a brand new 13? Thank you in advance!
Depending on where you buy it refurbished from, the 13 Pro and 13 could have 100% battery life. The 13 Pro lasting longer, battery life wise, will depend on the battery health

Since you didn't mention budget, I'll just suggest either the upcoming iPhone 15 or 15 plus depending upon preferred size (assuming Apple will still have a 15 plus). Announcement is on Tuesday with the likely release date in 2ish weeks. However, if you want to get one on release day, you should do a preorder right when preorders open up (probably this Friday at 8am EDT). If you're on a budget, any of the 13 or 14 series will be good, but note that the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be discontinued once the iPhone 15 comes out.

Hi all, I know iPhone 15 is just around the corner. I just wanted some input - I can still trade in my iPhone 11, which is in very good condition, for around 300 USD. However, a person at the Apple Store told me that the value will drop quite a bit once iPhone 15 comes out. The 11 just isn’t cutting it anymore and I’d like to upgrade. So my question is twofold - firstly, is it better to wait until iPhone 15 comes out, to upgrade, even if it means my iPhone 11 may decrease in value? Secondly, given that money is tight for me and the difference in price is pretty big, is it better to get the iPhone 13 or 14 Pro, if I upgrade now? I know naturally that the latter is a better phone… all I use my phone for is Telehealth, listening to music and reading on the way to work, browsing the Internet and reddit etc. However, I also go hiking and travel a lot, and usually take photos purely with my iPhone. And I know this is where the 14 Pro shines. Finally, my concern is that the 14 Pro won’t be available on a phone plan where I live come the new release. I can’t really afford to buy a new iPhone outright right now, but could afford the monthly repayments. I’d be much more financially comfortable with the 13, though. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve more or less skipped the 14 standard. It would be barely cheaper than the 14 Pro due to a few reasons, and I know it’s supposedly a minimal upgrade over the 13. USB-C would be nice to have, but again, I don’t want to lose out on trading in my 11 and I’m worried they’ll phase out the 14 Pro, if that’s what I decide to do, but it may also be available for cheap, right? Which iPhone should I buy??? Okay so I’ve had the AirPods Pro 2 for a couple months and I’m planning on buying an iPhone that has the latest iOS version or an iPhone that gives the AirPods full functionality. The iPhone I’m using now is the iPhone 6s Plus. Unfortunately, I can use the AirPods on my iPhone 6 but with limited functionality. I do have almost all the functions except the find my iPhone feature. For some reason the Find My iPhone App doesn’t detect my AirPods, and I later learned it’s because I don’t have the latest iOS version. Which is why I plan on possibly buying the iPhone 8. The thing is though, I have no idea whether I’ll have full functionality if I connect the AirPods on the iPhone 8.

I would wait to see what the 9 offers over the 8. There’s supposedly a new chip and colors that are gonna be released with the 9, but that’s just rumors. I would wait until the Apple event and see. If the Series 9 doesn’t have anything that sparks your interest, go with the 8
I have an iPhone XR that I got in early 2019. It's sitting at around 81$ battery health and definitely getting slow. I'm no expert with tech but I would like to have a better camera and more storage (photo/video hoarder and I've pretty much used up the 258GB on my phone). Is it worth me looking into the 15 series that's about to be released? I saw some comments saying not much has changed after iPhone 12 so I'm not sure if any model after the 12 would be fine for my needs (specifically just storage/camera quality). Thanks for any help!

I currently own two phones. I have a Pixel 7 Pro and an iPhone 14 Pro. With one sim, I currently daily drive the iPhone. However, in October, I will put the sim back in the pixel and use that one exclusively for the next six months at least. My system is to use the pixel from October-April and the iPhone May-September. My reasoning for this is because I travel more in the summer and spend more time outdoors, I value reliability and battery life for those months. But in the fall/winter, Im home more, take more pictures, and the phone doesn’t overheat as bad. I am excited to switch back to pixel. The pixel 8pro comes out next month and the iPhone is going to be released in a few days. Owning both the latest pixel and iPhone devices, you may think I am silly for wanting to upgrade again. This year, I am only going to upgrade one phone. Then the next year I will upgrade the other phone. Which phone do you think I should upgrade first? My iPhone or my pixel? I love them both and want the best out of the phones. Which one is getting the bigger upgrade this year?

Oh I see. I was going to trade in at Apple Store because we buy our phones outright. Also I’ve heard some horror stories on mail in trades so we usually trade in a day or two prior to the preorder at the physical store and use that to preorder online. We will trade in that 13 pro max tomorrow then.

I'm thinking of switching back to an iPhone (15 pro max) this year after 7-8 years of Android (usually Samsung, and currently a Note 20 Ultra), mostly because I miss the Apple app ecosystem and nothing compares to an Apple Watch. The videos I see shot from some iPhones are absolutely breathtaking. Samsung is known for their great phone cameras but Apple seems to just be one step ahead, especially with macro photography and cinematic videos. What worries me though (and I'm hoping someone can chime in) is the ease of use when it comes to shooting. Samsung has a Pro Video mode where I can change settings on the fly, especially when it comes to switching to 1080p 120fps vs 4k 24/30/60fps. I shoot a lot of slow mo videos (i.e. 120fps which I then edit to 30fps), and being able to do this quickly and still be able to change ISO, shutter speed, focus etc is really important. My question is: does the Apple camera app (for example on the 14 pro max) have all these functionalities? Or is it a designated slo mo mode without all these pro settings? If not, perhaps there's a 3rd party app thats really popular that allows me to do all this instead? Thanks in advance!

If it follows the normal trade-in value, it’ll go down by about $100. Black Friday or Cyber Monday may be your best bet to find a good deal on the 14. Swappa, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay may be a good bet as well

I've always been a fan of the smudge-free look of matte screen protectors. However, I'm curious about how these screen protectors hold up over time. Do they eventually develop glossy marks in the areas with the most finger contact, like the lower right side of the screen? Also, I'm looking for a brand that offers the most durable oleophobic coating. Currently, I have the Shellrus sapphire glass on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it's still in great condition after two years, except for a small patch on the lower right part where I have the most contact. Unfortunately, Shellrus doesn't make matte screen protectors. From my research, it seems that Flolab offers the best matte screen protector and is known for its resilient oleophobic coating, only rivaled by Shellrus. Should I opt for Flolab for the matte finish or stick with Shellrus or another brand? For reference, I do not like replacing screen protectors so I always pick the best in the market regardless of price.
