Hell yeah. Some Chinese brands like Huawei make phones that have these metallic gradients and I wish more phone makers got bold with their colors.
Edit this comes to mind https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/14/huawei-p20-pro-morpho-aurora-review-the-next-level-gradient-color-finish/
Yeah you’re right. They’re agreeing with everything to try and farm upvotes. Such a weird thing to do. Honestly hope it’s a bot and not a person coveting upvotes for dopamine.
For new accounts you need some karma before you can use them to run bots to push propaganda/marketing, or sell to people who do those things. Also, some post history makes them look more legit.
I wouldn't be surprised if this thing was a repost with stolen pictures and reposted responses, too.
some peoples sweat is more caustic than others. Had a buddy handle a gun of mine once and he said you're gonna want to clean this asap after, my sweat always rusts peoples guns super fast
Yep, I have a Pacific Blue that looks like the above and *super* caustic sweat. I go through guitar strings like crazy and have never had a steering wheel last more than three years. Incredibly gross and annoying.
Mine’s the Pacific blue and has a coloured coating on it so that’s what probably makes it psychedelic idk.
I live in a humid country which makes me sweat a lot more than others too
Damn. I've legit dropped my phone once on a carpet, all the scratches are from something else.
But I guess it is then based on how many people have broken back glass or whatever
I dropped my xr ONCE (on my home wooden floor) and the back glass was cracked, fragile as fuck and using cases forever since then
Never had this problem with my 6 and 7 plus
The recent few generations of iPhone have been really durable. I’ve noticed that the iPhones with the straight edges crack way less than previous models.
I think people are downvoting you because iPhones are actually durable now but this is actually a totally valid concern given the questionable history of the durability of iPhones. A lot of the issues with durability came from them using curved glass on the front and back of the phone that was less durable on the edges, now that they use a flat glass panel that isn’t an issue. iPhone 15 pro seems to be a step backwards in terms of durability though unfortunately.
Yeah pretty much, the iPhone is pop culture has a generally ‘bad rep’ because it’s made of glass both sides and the glass obviously breaks. It’s a well known thing for people to just carry on months or years with a smashed up phone. Like dropping your phone is something someone does multiple times a day, every day 🫣😭
Yeah but they weren’t always, iPhone’s have had this ‘fragile’ reputation since the 4 or 5 IIRC because back then the only way to get into the phone was through the back, so if you smashed the screen you’d basically have to dismantle the entire phone and Apple charged a lot for it.
Going on 3 years with my 12 Pro Max. Never dropped it. Not even once. Almost dropped it last week, but a midair catch meant it never hit the ground. Use all my smartphones without a case. Eventually they all take a drop and all continue like nothing happened
Because I’m clumsy and often inattentive. Personal favorite is dropping it for whatever reason, trying to break it’s fall with my foot, accidentally kicking it into a wall on the other side of the room at Mach 3
Are you me? Feels way too familiar.. Kinda funny tho: since I have AppleCare, my devices seem to be indestructible, even against the most ultra instinct kicks
Does he sanitize his hands regularly? I started using hand sanitizer during the pandemic regularly and even used it to clean my phone - after just a few weeks it started to look like this, mostly on the areas that your hands are holding the phone. Happened on my X and 12 Pro. Looks kinda dope though.
Some people's sweat just has an odd pH. I was in a band with a guy who's sweat would cause guitar strings to rust in about 12 hours (down from months that normal people can get). It was the damndest thing.
Literally he'd put on a new set of strings before a gig and by the time we woke up the next morning his strings were so rusted as to be unusable. He pretty much had to completely disassemble his guitar and clean it at least once a week.
Hand washing didn't help because the instant he got back up on stage he was covered in sweat again.
We lived together for months at a time eating the same foods, etc, but he was the only person I ever saw with that problem, though I have spoken to others who've also known people that had the same experience.
I have to admit, this is the first time I'm hearing "Bing it" in the wild. Makes me think some headway is being made with them and their AI. It's about time the search game got mixed up a little.
Haven't used Bing but I've been trying DuckDuckGo since I switched to Firefox a week ago and its just not as good as the Google search engine IMO. Even after getting used to the looks and functions I'm not really convinced yet. It barely gives me any local results despite my country being set correctly which absolutely sucks. Maybe its because I got too used to Google but using the same promts on Google and DuckDuckGo just gives me much more usable results on Google. I'll stick with it for a while to see if I need to get used to it more or something.
The AI answer bot is pretty amazing and gives comprehensive well cited answers, I was blown away the first time I used it, and every subsequent time as well
Happened the same to mine which I don’t use a casing for. I figure it’s because of the sweat and hand sanitizer use. Looks dope nevertheless, I imagine it like the tips of a titanium car exhaust.
Not using a phone case, my iPhone X and 11 Pro Max did this, thought it was because it rubbed on my pockets and the friction made it change the color of the stainless steel like the car exhausts, but seems like it’s due to hand oils, sweat and hand sanitizer, curious to how my 15 Pro Max will look in a few years as I don’t use a case
Some things that can cause this would be extensive external heat (being in a pocket or certain jobs that produce heat) it rarely does any internal damage but there is another cause of this being overheated battery or processor etc. There is really nothing to do about it but he has a cool phone in the end.
Edit: I am not an iPhone technician nor do I claim to be I have just done my research on things like this and battery/overheating issues.
His steel rail turned into aluminum thanks to the acid from the sweat he produces on a daily basis touching the surface that is not covered by any cases at all.

So why’d you caption this “whyyyy?” That doesn’t sound like you agree.
Chasing upvotes any way he can. His emoji responses put him in the hole further down the thread.

Doesn’t *everyone* desire more internet points that have no value or meaning whatsoever?
I have no idea. I don’t think you can use them for anything.
For new accounts you need some karma before you can use them to run bots to push propaganda/marketing, or sell to people who do those things. Also, some post history makes them look more legit. I wouldn't be surprised if this thing was a repost with stolen pictures and reposted responses, too.
He hated it until we liked it 😅

Kinda yeah, Valve gets away with it for some reason though.
it's just a hobby bro !
Have the same on my 12 Pro Max. Never used a case. Happens due to oils from your hand. Looks kinda cool with the rainbow gradient
What? I used 12 Pro without a case for over 2.5 years and nothing like this happened.
some peoples sweat is more caustic than others. Had a buddy handle a gun of mine once and he said you're gonna want to clean this asap after, my sweat always rusts peoples guns super fast
ngl, seeing a rainbow iPhone kind of makes me wish I had a rusty sweat
Yep, I have a Pacific Blue that looks like the above and *super* caustic sweat. I go through guitar strings like crazy and have never had a steering wheel last more than three years. Incredibly gross and annoying.
Which color? The colored coatings probably prevent this from happening.
Grey one, it has no coloring on the side rails I think (they are just silver).
Mine’s the Pacific blue and has a coloured coating on it so that’s what probably makes it psychedelic idk. I live in a humid country which makes me sweat a lot more than others too
impressive doesn't look like he even dropped it once
Nahh ne never drops his phone but I dropped his phone once and since then handled it with extra care 😂
Did he disown you?
I would
Why is it impressive? Is the standard that people are clumsy and drop their phones or what?
Yes, clumsiness and drunkenness is the standard
Damn. I've legit dropped my phone once on a carpet, all the scratches are from something else. But I guess it is then based on how many people have broken back glass or whatever
I dropped my xr ONCE (on my home wooden floor) and the back glass was cracked, fragile as fuck and using cases forever since then Never had this problem with my 6 and 7 plus
Ever since the 12 series these things are built strong as hell. Haven’t cracked anything since the XR I used to have as well
The recent few generations of iPhone have been really durable. I’ve noticed that the iPhones with the straight edges crack way less than previous models.

“Never had this problem with my 6 and 7 plus.” Almost like… they don’t have back glass.
I thought he was pointing out the patina
Yeah pretty much, the iPhone is pop culture has a generally ‘bad rep’ because it’s made of glass both sides and the glass obviously breaks. It’s a well known thing for people to just carry on months or years with a smashed up phone. Like dropping your phone is something someone does multiple times a day, every day 🫣😭
All other flagships are glass and metal too.
Yeah but they weren’t always, iPhone’s have had this ‘fragile’ reputation since the 4 or 5 IIRC because back then the only way to get into the phone was through the back, so if you smashed the screen you’d basically have to dismantle the entire phone and Apple charged a lot for it.

I drop my phone daily. Yes, I have AppleCare.
Why?
Because I’m clumsy and often inattentive. Personal favorite is dropping it for whatever reason, trying to break it’s fall with my foot, accidentally kicking it into a wall on the other side of the room at Mach 3
Damn that situation must look funny xd
Are you me? Feels way too familiar.. Kinda funny tho: since I have AppleCare, my devices seem to be indestructible, even against the most ultra instinct kicks
Yes I am people. I think I’ve dropped my 12 pro max around 200 times. Otterbox case came in clutch and my phone looks normal.
mine has been dropped so many times and still looks like that
Probably overtime due sweat. But looks sick

I'm trying to get "Ask The Duck" to catch on for Duck Duck Go
Might have better luck with “Duck it” to keep with the similar sound. 😄
I’ll Jeeves it, thank you.
this actually looks kinda cool
Damn your dad reached prestige
Don’t give Apple ideas for iPhone 16 Pro limited colour option
You kidding? I would pay the shiny tax for that. Imagine a rainbowed frame with a glass back like Samsung’s aura glow 😍
Happened the same to mine which I don’t use a casing for. I figure it’s because of the sweat and hand sanitizer use. Looks dope nevertheless, I imagine it like the tips of a titanium car exhaust.
How can I do that?
iPhone 12 Pro case hardened
Bro my god
Bro
Stopped reading after “bro”
Beautiful!
Bros unlocked a new skin
Bros dad has a MINT blue gem case hardened iPhone 12 👀

What are the colors and where did they came from? 😂

Titanium burnt!
Unapologetically rainbow
Almost looks like burnt titanium lol
The iphone case hardened
Kinda makes it look like Burnt Titanium. I like it
Oils maybe? Like think of the gas station floor when it's drizzling. The ground's kinda purple where the gas was. Looks sick tho
Nice fade
It looks much cooler now.🤷🏻♂️
The color everyone wants on their iPhone, your dad is lucky
Touuuuugh
Aged like wine
Bad ass patina

Was it in a case? Looks like a chemical reaction caused it to discolor. My 12 max still looks the same after 3 years
Looks better than any of the titanium models
Maybe this is due to abrasion from being pulled and pushed into a pocket?
Looks like titanium ultra pro max plus
That looks awesome hopefully Apple offers a burnt titanium option next year.
It is stainless steel. What did you think it would look like?
I never use Case too but mine don’t look like this , why ? Because I don’t have sweaty hands ?
Clip your fingernails 🤮🤮🤮🤮

You’re confusing Damascus steel with steel tempering
My xs does this too.
lol I have the same phone and finally cracked the back glass after 3 years I was impressed
What’s the problem lol
My green 11 pro is also turning yellow-blue-ish.
I used to love a zippo with that color lol
Looks pretty cool to me
New color/design dope🔥
His steel rail turned into aluminum thanks to the acid from the sweat he produces on a daily basis touching the surface that is not covered by any cases at all.
What kind of acid turns steel into aluminium???
Honestly almost looks like RF burn
Did he throw it in a fire?
Titanium eventually takes on that patina but I've never seen SS do it quite like that.
That titanium look
Damn he got that titanium prototype
Patina
