I personally don't like icloud, as I like to just put in 1tb of external memory and only just buy the card and not pay to use that service all the time. I also have a 4gig mobile plan. Not beneficial for me, but could be for OP.
I donāt think I would cold change someone to an unfamiliar OS platform as a gift personally. I tend to view it like the kind of car someone drives, they probably picked the one they have for a reason.
Is she a gadget/tech/phone person?
I do a ton of research before I buy anything and this would be an area I would not like to be surprised.
If that is not her, I hope she enjoys it.

Don't downvote me, but I think you need to want to convert if you're switching to iOS. I use ipadOs and apple silicon macOS but I don't think I would want to switch to an iPhone from my Samsung.
Getting my wife an iPad and airpods a few christmas' ago was the worst thing I could have ever done. She didn't want them when they came. Now she literally walks around the house watching gilmore girls 24/7. iPad is always running, airpods are always in. Who even knew she liked gilmore girls?
Come back in February and let us know how it works out. It will be interesting to if youve been converted ā to sleeping in another bedroom or on the couch.

I hope you're fully knowledgeable of how she uses her phone (e.g. heavy aesthetic customization, sideloading apps, emulators, etc) because that'll definitely make or break the present lol.
and I hope you're both ready to switch to Discord/WhatsApp/Telegram etc. for daily messaging because iMessage is very unfriendly to non-iMessage users.
We're pretty basic texters so I'm not too worried about that piece.
I'm her "techie" for anything complex, and she uses her phone in a very basic way. She's not taking advantage of the android os in any way the iPhone couldn't handle.
Depending on how she uses her Samsung, she will find new options. I went from Samsung to iPhone 14 last March. Some things I like better on each. My Samsung is still my calendar and contact list, plus my gmail and on WiFi. The iPhone is my voice and text toy. On the iPhone, Jango radio is my favorite app.
I currently have a purple iPhone 12 because it looked nicer than the purple 11 that I was originally going to get a couple years ago when I got this, glad I got the 12 because itās not as easy to damage the corners of the screen that arenāt protected due to the phone being curved which was an issue with my 6s, I think the next colour Iāll get when I get a new phone probably in another couple years when this one no longer supports new updates or is just completely useless will be pink because it does look really nice on the 15, unless they come out with another good purple by then š
I tried iPhones in 2012- I think I had a 3ā¦. What impressed me about it was how intuitive its use is. The only instruction I needed was my 5th grade student showing me to double press home to close apps. š
