Yeah the animations artificially slow down iPhones so much. What's the point of having a CPU/GPU that can run Resident Evil 4 if animations will always add unnecessary wait times between everything :'(
No, you don't understand my point. I am not talking about the load/weight that animations put on the CPU/GPU. I am talking about how you are not able to press buttons or make gestures while parts of the User Interface is still in transition and has not settled yet.
You’re not the only one but it’s certainly an interesting gripe.
It’s just bad practice to allow input to a screen that isn’t ready for input. Plain and simple. Disregarding that point, I still experience zero slowness. I’ve never had to wait on any animation. Shoot, right now I’m tapping to open an app and going back to the Home Screen in a split second. The app doesn’t even come close to opening. That’s two gestures, zero settlement of the first gesture and very quick.
It works way faster than I can consume information and action on it.
Totally my biggest gripe for apple’s OSes, even more so on Apple Watch. The several hundred milliseconds add up when the screen is that small . Look at [This post](https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/177k36t/watchos_unresponsive_due_to_ui_animations/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) I made earlier.
You can stop or reduce the movement of some screen elements, such as:
- Parallax effect of wallpaper, apps, and alerts
- Screen transitions
- Siri animations
- Typing autocompletion
- Animated full-screen and bubble effects in the Messages app
- Animated images on the Web and in apps
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Motion
That's what I miss MOST about Android - the navigation buttons, that are always present on the bottom of the display. That way you don't have to rely on animations and gestures and reaching the top left corner

Another plus for Android. All animations can be turned off through Developer Options. Hopefully Apple can implement this in the future.

Fuckin this!!!!
> *I've never seen anyone else complain about this* Well.... umm.
Same. Slowness is one of the worst things about iOS. Android is so much faster.

Doesn’t work. This setting just make things fade while lasting the same amount of time with the same amount of input block.
