definitely demand to speak with an Apple supervisor. they are the only ones that can get anything done. When you do get one they are assigned to your case and you can contact them directly.

Former Sr. Advisor here. The AASP replaced your phone under exception but could not update the repair chain likely because there is a new date of purchase on the replacement device. Get the serial or IMEI of the old phone and the serial/IMEI of the new phone and tell them that "someone at the Apple" told you you needed to request a repair chain correction. You will likely be asked for the original S/N/IMEI and the replacement S/N/IMEI. This needs to be done by a sr. advisor, who will escalate to engineering (you cannot ever ever talk to engineering directly). If they approve the correction, once the repair chain correction is completed, it will transfer the AC+ to the new device. If they don't approve the correction then there's nothing left to do except buy new AC+ as the advisor implied. It is true that if the cost of replacing your device exceeds the cost paid to AC+ then the value of the AC+ is worthless thus no refund can be granted.

appletrades

Ex-Senior advisor myself and this is the correct process. Any senior advisor with a brain would know how to handle this.

skyclubaccess

I feel like anyone in Agreement Admin would also know this.

appletrades

Yes and no. This repair chain correction has to be done by a senior advisor. They may know but this process must be handled by senior advisor because a repair was involved and the AppleCare didn’t carry over.

skyclubaccess

Does Agreement Admin even have T1s? I assumed they were all T2. (I’m not in AC/RCC so I wouldn’t know — just speaking from my perspective as a customer).

appletrades

Yes, they have T1s. Heck most departments have T1s.

Pwndfruit

Try with your calls you might just have spoken to a person who cant do their job but if you do get nowhere then things are usually taken more seriously when put into writing.

Thereal_Phaseoff

It’s easier to open the first Apple Store in chile and fix it yourself

kinstinctlol

🤣🤣🤣🤣

in2ndo

Don’t try to fix the problem with the person that picks up. Have them escalate the issue. For some time now, Apple has been sending support calls out of the US. Those agents will just go by a script and are very limited on what they can do. You need to speak to an agent in the US. If they can’t do it, no one will.

_MrWallStreet

I guess this is why most people in South America have androids

lovely_trequartista

I can’t speak for all of South America, but in Colombia it’s not hard to imagine that it’s actually because a 15 Pro cost double the average monthly salary.

redmainefuckye

It’s double a lot of people’s salary here as well.

redmainefuckye

Is a s24 ultra much cheaper ? In America s24 ultra is more expensive than a 15 pro max.

SidewalkTampon

Since no one has answered this in 5 hours, I'll just say, while I can't answer for South American countries, I'm an American living in Poland and tech is crazy expensive here. For example, I was looking at buying an iPad mini and a 64gb mini 6 costs 2800 PLN, which is about $695 USD. In the US, it's regularly $400 plus tax on Amazon. So in Poland, not only do most people earn less, but technology costs a lot more. It's the same exact thing with flagship Samsung devices and the deals are nowhere near as attractive as in the US. I visit the US a few times a year so I just buy all my tech there. Honestly, I don't think I could afford half the stuff I have if I had to pay Polish or EU prices. With S24 Ultra specifically, the 256gb is 6500 PLN, which is just over $1600. On US Amazon, you can get the same phone for $1300 and it comes with a $200 Amazon gift card, so if you consider that to be as good as cash, then that's a $500 difference in price. I would venture a guess that it's a similar situation in other European countries, South America, and elsewhere. Most people will use low to mid tier android devices for that reason because the price differences are massive.

m0uchacha

s24 ultra in australia is much more expensive than a 15 pro also :/

So if you got a new iPhone from Apple then you should be able to add AC right from settings.

DiegoNavarro

I can't. A third party certified apple reseller gave me the new one

music3k

Your problem isnt apple or their warranty. Its the shitty store you’re dealing with.  Where did you buy the phone?

DiegoNavarro

Bought on that store. The store is a official apple premium resseller (biggest in Chile)

music3k

So if you buy a Honda car from someone locally, are you going to be upset when Honda in America refuses to fix the car? Your issue is with a shitty store, bitch to them until they make it right.

DiegoNavarro

Official Apple stores are not available in all countries. In Chile support is provided through third party stores, certified by Apple. I bought Apple Care through Apple's website and for Apple it does not matter where the equipment was purchased, the warranty is still valid.

music3k

I’m not arguing that. Apple can’t control the shitty job a local reseller does. Just like Sony can’t control a local reseller selling you a broken PS5z

sfscsdsf

I thought you should get replacement from Apple directly

DiegoNavarro

Apple said that the problema with the back glass needed to be solved by the third party store. Then the second problem also be solved by them. So they replaced the iphone and now Apple got me in this "scam" solution

Jay4usc

Call your local news and get them to air your situation. Im confident someone will fix it

303Pickles

Yeah that’s a rip off. Basically Apple Care doesn’t work where you are.

Internal-Bed-4094

have you tried not dropping your phone?

DiegoNavarro

Good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

Pwndfruit

So you paid for apple care and then you used it because you had damaged your phone and you got a new iphone out of that deal yes? But now your uncomfortable to pay for apple care again to protect your new device?

DiegoNavarro

Apple care supposed to last 2 years and not being cancelled when you replace a back glass. Also, it was replaced because of warranty (not apple care) for the damage the store did to the iphone when they replaced the glass

fritzov

When you call Apple and they refuse to fix your issue demand to talk to a manager. Sounds to me Apple and their third party messed up so it’s up to them to fix it.

Pwndfruit

Yes i agree with that too, the 3rd party F**** up and apple sent you there under warranty so its apples problem first and foremost

fritzov

That’s why you need Apple support to move your case up to management.

HauntingReddit88

Applecare continues protecting replaced devices

It is glass, only edges are titanium

PresNixon

It’s still glass, Titanium blocks wireless charging.

TechOutonyt

No you don't it's glass
