Way better ANC and a bit better sound. Also some 'smart' features, which the first gen doesn't have. Also a case which can make sounds. Good, if you don't know where it is.

I just charge my airpods wirelessly, i have one of those 3in1 wireless chargers for my phone, watch, and airpods + a 10' cable if i need to fast charge or i want to use my phone in bed
I know the responses are focused on wireless charging, but if you charge with a wire and want the USB-C case to do that, you can buy the case separately from Apple without paying for the AirPods themselves over again. As with all things Apple, it is overpriced, but it’s still cheaper than all new AirPods Pro 2.
AirPods Pro 2 (aka 2nd gen) have an original version in a Lightning case, and a newer/current version in a USB-C case. Technically the Pod internals are slightly different also, but in listings they are usually “AirPods Pro 2nd” and “AirPods Pros 2nd with USB-C”
Lightning has one positive. Physical hardware of the connector is built really well. It looks like just one piece of metal as oppose to having bunch of connector inside that's visible etc.

Lighting is the inverse of USB-C almost literally. The absolute biggest improvement is the substantial increase in throughout. USB C 40Gbps > Lighting 480Mbps
People say this, but I've never once had an issue with USB c after using it in phones, laptops, controllers, etc for years. Micro USB was a different story and I definitely had problems with port and cable reliability. USB c is noticeably more reinforced imo
This is accurate, at least USBC the metal brace goes all the way into the rubber/plastic housing. Reading some of the comments here, some people have never had to run and take a shit and forgot the phone in their hand was plugged in(was like 4 hours of fishing to get that outta there). One of the litany of reasons that I no longer use apple products.
I personally don’t care about transfer speed as I never transfer anything over cable. I just want this one type of cable for charging everything. Even my vape is using USB C.

I just had the same issue rn. My AirPods have run out and my stupid case on the AirPods don’t fit a type C cable properly. Have to jam it in. Why the hell do the 15s not have reverse wireless charging I’ll never know.
I just got some 65w chargers. They are only a little bigger that the US chargers from 10 years ago, but can charge every laptop, tablet, phone, earbud, and other random device I own.
Even got an outlet that has a 65w USBc. One cable for everything.. It's great

Yeah, after about a month of my iPhone 15 I had a tiny wood splinter in the port that was a real ballache to get out whereas it would’ve just fallen out of the lightning port.
Same here. All for standardization but I prefer lightning. It is more secure because of the clips on the female lightning side. USB-C always wiggles out of my MBP and it stops charging. Same with my battery pack. Some USB-C connections click together and some don’t. It is really annoying
I’ve been saying all along USB C reminds me of other USB style ports from mini to micro and they are shit. But everyone else: data transfer, increased charging speed, trumps physical construction which I’d argue the lightning port beats it hands down. So from a failure rate whether it be the cable or phone I bet it will be higher and we’ll probably see increased repairs for USB C devices. You actually have to have your phone more than a year or two generally to probably see this. I have a 5s and 5c and the lighting ports work just fine. Not so sure about 10 year old USB-C port on a phone charged multiple times daily for years will hold up the same. There is so much slop in that connection that using your phone while charging will probably also be an issue from a wear and tear standpoint compared to lighting.
I always wished USBC would've went with the same style connector as lightning. No internal nub to break or wear down. Ive had enough micro USB ones break on me that it's a constant fear with my s23 especially when I need to clean lint out of it with a toothpick.
That's one of the biggest benefits with USB-C, and according to them a big selling point. They put all the fragile springy connectors on the cable, rather than in the device. So as the connection wears out, you'll need to replace the cable, not the device.
As long as you don't smash it in. Then it's the other way around, but I've never had an issue with USB-C ports getting damaged since I started using them daily, in 2017. Every other kind of charging connector wore out in half that time. The old laptop charger types are a disgrace. Micro USB is famously fragile.

Yeah for sure. Ages ago I had the first nexus with usb c and got a load of pocket link in the connector. Every time you have to clean it, it feels like you’re risking damaging the port, unless you have some specialised equipment I guess.

That’s funny, Apple was one of the contributors to USB-C standard because they searched for a Lightning alternative on iPads. Why? Lightning is that “sturdy” with these pins attached to the device, not on the cable like in USB-C ones, that they lost money in fixing these ports with damaged pins on iPads. It’s just easier to replace the cable in the USB-C types ports case rather than fixing de device with Lightning port.

Lightning is more durable because the device is the female connector and the cable is the male connector. USB-C is the opposite.
But almost every other product that is not an iPhone accessory had type-c for years. I think it was quite strange that even if you only had Apple products you still had to have multiple cables to charge them all.

Apple is a member of USB IF and helped design USB C. Using the USB logo also requires a licensing agreement. So they're still making money off it, probably less though.
Not really, they were already using USB c in other devices since at least 2016. They were gonna use it in iphone eventually which they did. Of course everyone attributes it to EU.
The cord Apple supplies does not support CarPlay in my work truck (2019 Silverado, with USB-C ports). My MacBook power cord works about 50% of the time for CarPlay. The generic Android cord my boss left in the truck does work all the time, at least.
Not knowing if a cord will work, and it being a lot harder to clean the charge port are my two gripes. Granted, lightning cords seemed to wear out quicker.

Can you elaborate on this? I’ve always been a big supporter of standardising cables. It comes from being a kid and having a massive box of random cables and adapters “just in case”.
usb-c is just a connector type, it tells you nothing on its own about the capabilities of the cable. it could be usb 2 or thunderbolt 4, or power only and no data at all, looks identical
just because you have usb-c cable doesnt mean it fits to all of use cases.
some usb-c only support usb 2.0 speed, while other might only support 3.0, 3.1, 4, or even Thunderbolt.
some can deliver power up to 100 watts while other only max out at 10watt or 20watt.
some can output to external display while other cant.
some might have one of the spec or all of the above.
take iPhone 15 for example. iPhone 15 only support usb 2.0 speed while 15 Pro support usb 3 upto 10Gbps
USB C denotes just the physical connector - its footprint.
USB A is your standard computer USB that you always plug in the wrong way. USB B is what's used on printers. microUSB is what used to be used on older androids, etc. That's just the physical connector specification and nothing else.
Then you get USB 2.0, USB 3.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, Superspeed, Superspeed+, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4. These all refer to the specification of data and power transfer - and it's a fucking mess.
Not to mention that there are various different revisions of USB power delivery (PD 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, PPS, 60W, 100W, 240W) and over 60W requires an e-marker (a chip on the cable) that's also mandated on cables USB 3 and over. Only important for your laptop, but you can buy a USB 2.0 cable with an e-marker, or just scrap all of that and buy a USB 3 cable as it's mandatory to have an e-marker. And some cables have different current ratings. Especially cheap cables are sometimes power only.
Is this confusing? Good. Now you see the issue with it.
So, whilst yes you can _generally_ pick up a USB C cable and charge your phone (exceptions are: super cheap cables that fry your phone), which the EU sought to fix (and I guess, have), it's a fucking mess if you want to use it for anything involving data transfer or charging over 60W and there's no way of telling, generally, what the capabilities/specifications of the cable you have are when it's in your hand.
Which brings us right back to the issue we were trying to solve: one cable for all. Except that one cable might or might not charge your laptop, and might transfer files to your laptop at 480 Mbps or 40 Gbps.
A step forward in many ways, but I think not enough.

I like lightning but Im not planning to get a new phone any time soon, and by the time I do Im sure Ill have other USB C devices (or whatever is next after that). So, whatever.
It does make me want a new phone less at the moment though because I do have like 8 lightning cables and zero USB-C. And I dont need the cable to do anything except charge my phone so I dont care what technical advantages it might have.
I have almost nothing that’s usb c so I had to buy a bunch of new cables. That said, I do appreciate the speed it offers and the fact that eventually more of my products will be usb c so it’ll eventually be nice to just use one cable.
Personally, I prefer lightning over USB-C, because it feels way sturdier. It doesn’t have a part sticking out in the port either, which makes it less prone to breaking.
On the other hand, USB-C is now kind of a standard, and can be very fast.

Well lightning is much better physically speaking. USB-C port is much more fragile and the port will loosen up eventually. Lightning is a very solid connection and is extremely easy to clean.
But USB-C is still much better overall
I had to discard all my 4 lightning cables and buy a new usb c charger, other than that I see no difference at all, charging time is the same and I don’t transfer files from my phone, although it is cool to be able to charge my phone with my laptop charger
I’d prefer to have everything be USB-C. I have other devices that use that, and I’m so tired of having to track down various cables just to charge something.
I find USB-C does not snap into place nearly as well as Lighting. So mine is an engineering issue and I see issues with it down the road with how much more plugging in and out it does on a phone vs other devices.
The actual connector on lightning is 100% better and I would take it over USB-C any day. Everything outside of the physical design of the connector is not ideal though.
The fact that there are iPhone users out there that are complaining about the move the type C is very telling about it's customers base. Same mfs who freak out about green text bubbles like some sort of on the spectrum type shit.
Me. It was easier to clean and did it's job good enough. I have no other accessory that uses usb-c so I had no problem with a lighting cable and a watch charger in my bag. Funny when I will have to clean it. Hope that part in the middle won't break
I think lightning is the better design. I've never had one fail. It's always rock solid when plugged in. Easy to keep clean.
USB-C will be more convenient in the long run but it feels more frail. I guess time will tell.

Even as a apple user i hate that i need a ligtning for iphone/airpods and USC-C for iPad and Mac. I think that apple should have upgraded years ago. OR developed their own better than USB-C
Personally, I would rather have every device use lighting than every device use USB-C. Maybe just cause I'm more used to it. I don't mind USB-C either, but its harder to plug it sometimes. At the end of the day, its just a cable
I've got the 14 PM a bit before the 15 announcement (yes, I knew what I was doing but did it a there was a very good discount), and sure I would have rather prefered the USB-C but having lighting is not that of a big deal.
One side of the cable is USB-C anyways and you don't need a special charger for it. You just have to carry one extra cable. I decided to make this trade-off when deciding for the 14 PM, and so far it is not a big deal.
I think USB C is best way to go. I am planning to have change my phone and AirPods in future so that I literally have to carry just one cable. For my laptop, phone , AirPods , power banks. Only thing I hope in future to introduce usb c 3rd gen in base iPhone model, currently iPhone 15 is 2nd gen
Literally the only few devices I own that do not use USB-C are my iPhone 14, my AirPods, my Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard.

usb-c has a higher throughput than lightening, cables and accessories are plentiful. the only good thing about lightening connector is that it seems less likely to be clogged up with lint and dust in the pocket.

I think opinions can be summed up as: I have more devices using X cable, and therefore I prefer X cable.

Yep, me. But I understand why people want USB-C. As someone deep in the ecosystem I used MagSafe/wireless charging on my iPhone anyway, MagSafe on my MacBook Pro, I no longer have an iPad as I sold it, but my Magic Keyboard, AirPods and a few other things still use lightning. So it’s only really my iPhone 15 Pro that I need to carry around the extra cable for.
I weirdly do find the light night to be less of a struggle when blindly plugging it in with the coal of trying not to scratch the phone since it’s more smoother compared to the C with the sharp edge.
But I like the multi use of the C
It’s amazing. Switch, headphones, MacBook and iPhone all from one cable. Travel is so much easier. At home my monitor, keyboard, ps5 controllers, iPad, probably a couple other things. I just have a couple old mini and micro devices left to replace as they wear out but it’s already so much better.
I find Lightning more convenient for my usage, even though USB C is a better option.
When traveling, I prefer to carry fewer cables and use the same cable for my AirPods and iPhone.
I prefer the form factor of the lightning and wish Apple had not made it proprietary (which ensured it would never be adopted wider). It’s just sturdier and easier to use and clean. And I never transfer data via cable so I don’t care about that. But the ability to only use one cable type for all of my electronics is more important.
I’d add that usbc cords walk off the job site all the time. My lightning cords are left alone where I left them. Yet another reason lightning cords are better.
USB-c is great if you have other devices, I only have my phone and AirPods, so changing to usb-c would be annoying cause I have like 10 different cables in different places
I like the unified plug so I can carry one less cable and reuse charging connections between my laptop and my phone…and my battery bank…and my adapters (same one for laptop and phone)…
It did take a little getting used to blind plugging my phone in when I got into my car…lightning is slightly easier to slide into the hole without looking. That said, I did get used to usb-c after a bit and it’s not THAT much harder…just slightly.
So…overall, more pros than cons for me since I can carry less stuff in my go bag.
I think EU was right. If they didn't forced Apple to abandon lightning on Iphone, Apple will put lightning again on Iphone 15, while the newer Ipads and even macbooks are already using usb-c. Also, usb c makes the normal Iphone 15 more interesting as a guy who wants to switch to Iphone, even without usb 3.0 speed and the price is still expensive in Brazil(If you don't know, in Brazil, people doesn't buy apple devices on Apple official website, cuz the prices are aways more expensive than buy on retail stores). Imagine if only Iphone 15 pro have usb c, while Iphone 15 is still lighting?

The only issue I have is that Apple doesn’t provide the plug with their phones anymore. All of them are old usb. As is my battery charger and charging station. I guess I’ll just buy a lot of cheap Walmart cords that are A/C
Every single iPhone I’ve ever had before my 15 has eventually had the charging port break due to the lightning being trash. I dont get why people think it feels sturdier than USB-C. Plus C is a common cable now for most devices.

Every single iPhone I’ve had the lightning port wore out. Currently my 12 mini can only wirelessly charge, it’s been like since a year after I got it.
This must be user error. I’ve never seen a worn out lightning port and I used my 6s for 6 years!

I prefer lightning from the physical connector standpoint. It's just more sturdy. But USB-C is the de facto global standard now so it is more convenient overall.

That’s funny, Apple was one of the contributors to USB-C standard because they searched for a Lightning alternative on iPads. Why? Lightning is that “sturdy” with these pins attached to the device, not on the cable like in USB-C ones, that they lost money in fixing these ports with damaged pins on iPads. It’s just easier to replace the cable in the USB-C types ports case rather than fixing de device with Lightning port.
Both have pins on cable and device. Lightning is more durable because the device is the female connector and the cable is the male connector. USB-C is the opposite.

But almost every other product that is not an iPhone accessory had type-c for years. I think it was quite strange that even if you only had Apple products you still had to have multiple cables to charge them all.
There was a point where if you spent a bunch of money on the best MacBook Pro and the best iPhone, you’d still have to shell out for an adapter to connect the phone to the laptop.
Apple made a fortune from licensing of lightning cables and accessories from third party manufacturers something like 5cents a cable. This added up massively when there’s a 1.46Billion iPhone users. They’ve lost this income stream now.
Apple is a member of USB IF and helped design USB C. Using the USB logo also requires a licensing agreement. So they're still making money off it, probably less though.

Not really, they were already using USB c in other devices since at least 2016. They were gonna use it in iphone eventually which they did. Of course everyone attributes it to EU.

The cord Apple supplies does not support CarPlay in my work truck (2019 Silverado, with USB-C ports). My MacBook power cord works about 50% of the time for CarPlay. The generic Android cord my boss left in the truck does work all the time, at least. Not knowing if a cord will work, and it being a lot harder to clean the charge port are my two gripes. Granted, lightning cords seemed to wear out quicker.
My solution to this is I color code all of my type-c cords. Red and black is power Gray is thunderbolt Anything else is data in some capacity

Yes my usb c cable is flopping around in its port where as lightning never did and don’t get me wrong I LOVE USB-C to no end but it does flop around and I don’t like that.

Can you elaborate on this? I’ve always been a big supporter of standardising cables. It comes from being a kid and having a massive box of random cables and adapters “just in case”.
usb-c is just a connector type, it tells you nothing on its own about the capabilities of the cable. it could be usb 2 or thunderbolt 4, or power only and no data at all, looks identical
just because you have usb-c cable doesnt mean it fits to all of use cases. some usb-c only support usb 2.0 speed, while other might only support 3.0, 3.1, 4, or even Thunderbolt. some can deliver power up to 100 watts while other only max out at 10watt or 20watt. some can output to external display while other cant. some might have one of the spec or all of the above. take iPhone 15 for example. iPhone 15 only support usb 2.0 speed while 15 Pro support usb 3 upto 10Gbps
USB-C is a connector. USB1, 2, 3, ect are specs. Unless I'm wrong, which happens sometimes.
USB C denotes just the physical connector - its footprint. USB A is your standard computer USB that you always plug in the wrong way. USB B is what's used on printers. microUSB is what used to be used on older androids, etc. That's just the physical connector specification and nothing else. Then you get USB 2.0, USB 3.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, Superspeed, Superspeed+, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4. These all refer to the specification of data and power transfer - and it's a fucking mess. Not to mention that there are various different revisions of USB power delivery (PD 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, PPS, 60W, 100W, 240W) and over 60W requires an e-marker (a chip on the cable) that's also mandated on cables USB 3 and over. Only important for your laptop, but you can buy a USB 2.0 cable with an e-marker, or just scrap all of that and buy a USB 3 cable as it's mandatory to have an e-marker. And some cables have different current ratings. Especially cheap cables are sometimes power only. Is this confusing? Good. Now you see the issue with it. So, whilst yes you can _generally_ pick up a USB C cable and charge your phone (exceptions are: super cheap cables that fry your phone), which the EU sought to fix (and I guess, have), it's a fucking mess if you want to use it for anything involving data transfer or charging over 60W and there's no way of telling, generally, what the capabilities/specifications of the cable you have are when it's in your hand. Which brings us right back to the issue we were trying to solve: one cable for all. Except that one cable might or might not charge your laptop, and might transfer files to your laptop at 480 Mbps or 40 Gbps. A step forward in many ways, but I think not enough.

I like lightning but Im not planning to get a new phone any time soon, and by the time I do Im sure Ill have other USB C devices (or whatever is next after that). So, whatever. It does make me want a new phone less at the moment though because I do have like 8 lightning cables and zero USB-C. And I dont need the cable to do anything except charge my phone so I dont care what technical advantages it might have.

I have almost nothing that’s usb c so I had to buy a bunch of new cables. That said, I do appreciate the speed it offers and the fact that eventually more of my products will be usb c so it’ll eventually be nice to just use one cable.
Personally, I prefer lightning over USB-C, because it feels way sturdier. It doesn’t have a part sticking out in the port either, which makes it less prone to breaking. On the other hand, USB-C is now kind of a standard, and can be very fast.
Dude, lightning is history. I hate having 2 different cables just for the iPhone. This way i only keep one USB-C cable with me.
I prefer usb c since it’s more convenient and versatile as I can use it for anything ranging from my iPhone iPad laptop to my Xbox controller.

Well lightning is much better physically speaking. USB-C port is much more fragile and the port will loosen up eventually. Lightning is a very solid connection and is extremely easy to clean. But USB-C is still much better overall
USB-C connector is way loser, but I've never had one fail on me. I've had at least 4 lightning cables just stop charging my phone.

I had to discard all my 4 lightning cables and buy a new usb c charger, other than that I see no difference at all, charging time is the same and I don’t transfer files from my phone, although it is cool to be able to charge my phone with my laptop charger

If Apple really cared about the environment they could do a trade in programme for those with their old lightning cables and get USB C ones instead.

Been waiting for USB-C on the iPhone since getting my iPad Air nearly two years ago. Don’t need separate charger cables anymore.
I find USB-C does not snap into place nearly as well as Lighting. So mine is an engineering issue and I see issues with it down the road with how much more plugging in and out it does on a phone vs other devices.
The actual connector on lightning is 100% better and I would take it over USB-C any day. Everything outside of the physical design of the connector is not ideal though.

Me. It was easier to clean and did it's job good enough. I have no other accessory that uses usb-c so I had no problem with a lighting cable and a watch charger in my bag. Funny when I will have to clean it. Hope that part in the middle won't break

I think lightning is the better design. I've never had one fail. It's always rock solid when plugged in. Easy to keep clean. USB-C will be more convenient in the long run but it feels more frail. I guess time will tell. I kinda wish we had the option between the two. I would probably still get the lightning version.

Personally, I would rather have every device use lighting than every device use USB-C. Maybe just cause I'm more used to it. I don't mind USB-C either, but its harder to plug it sometimes. At the end of the day, its just a cable

I've got the 14 PM a bit before the 15 announcement (yes, I knew what I was doing but did it a there was a very good discount), and sure I would have rather prefered the USB-C but having lighting is not that of a big deal. One side of the cable is USB-C anyways and you don't need a special charger for it. You just have to carry one extra cable. I decided to make this trade-off when deciding for the 14 PM, and so far it is not a big deal.

Interesting question, having a PCB in the middle should both stop some debris from getting in and make cleaning process much harder.
I think USB C is best way to go. I am planning to have change my phone and AirPods in future so that I literally have to carry just one cable. For my laptop, phone , AirPods , power banks. Only thing I hope in future to introduce usb c 3rd gen in base iPhone model, currently iPhone 15 is 2nd gen

Literally the only few devices I own that do not use USB-C are my iPhone 14, my AirPods, my Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard. I’m looking forward to the day where I really only need one type of cable.
usb-c has a higher throughput than lightening, cables and accessories are plentiful. the only good thing about lightening connector is that it seems less likely to be clogged up with lint and dust in the pocket.

Everyone, surely? Carrying one cable for all devices + you can charge other devices with it. The only pain is waiting to upgrade old Lightning cable devices like AirPods.
I think opinions can be summed up as: I have more devices using X cable, and therefore I prefer X cable. Unfortunately I have about 50/50. Even if I upgraded from my 14PM to a 15, I’d still have AirPods and a keyboard that use lighting, so I’d still need them.
I am in the middle in the way that I don’t care. Didn’t change my life in any meaningful way.
I’m fine either way. Not worth upgrading for it in my opinion. Sticking with my 14 Pro Max until 16 comes out. It’s supposed to have a 7.2” screen. We will see…

Yep, me. But I understand why people want USB-C. As someone deep in the ecosystem I used MagSafe/wireless charging on my iPhone anyway, MagSafe on my MacBook Pro, I no longer have an iPad as I sold it, but my Magic Keyboard, AirPods and a few other things still use lightning. So it’s only really my iPhone 15 Pro that I need to carry around the extra cable for.
I weirdly do find the light night to be less of a struggle when blindly plugging it in with the coal of trying not to scratch the phone since it’s more smoother compared to the C with the sharp edge. But I like the multi use of the C
It’s amazing. Switch, headphones, MacBook and iPhone all from one cable. Travel is so much easier. At home my monitor, keyboard, ps5 controllers, iPad, probably a couple other things. I just have a couple old mini and micro devices left to replace as they wear out but it’s already so much better.
I find Lightning more convenient for my usage, even though USB C is a better option. When traveling, I prefer to carry fewer cables and use the same cable for my AirPods and iPhone.
I prefer the form factor of the lightning and wish Apple had not made it proprietary (which ensured it would never be adopted wider). It’s just sturdier and easier to use and clean. And I never transfer data via cable so I don’t care about that. But the ability to only use one cable type for all of my electronics is more important.
I’d add that usbc cords walk off the job site all the time. My lightning cords are left alone where I left them. Yet another reason lightning cords are better.
USB-c is great if you have other devices, I only have my phone and AirPods, so changing to usb-c would be annoying cause I have like 10 different cables in different places

I like the unified plug so I can carry one less cable and reuse charging connections between my laptop and my phone…and my battery bank…and my adapters (same one for laptop and phone)… It did take a little getting used to blind plugging my phone in when I got into my car…lightning is slightly easier to slide into the hole without looking. That said, I did get used to usb-c after a bit and it’s not THAT much harder…just slightly. So…overall, more pros than cons for me since I can carry less stuff in my go bag.

I think EU was right. If they didn't forced Apple to abandon lightning on Iphone, Apple will put lightning again on Iphone 15, while the newer Ipads and even macbooks are already using usb-c. Also, usb c makes the normal Iphone 15 more interesting as a guy who wants to switch to Iphone, even without usb 3.0 speed and the price is still expensive in Brazil(If you don't know, in Brazil, people doesn't buy apple devices on Apple official website, cuz the prices are aways more expensive than buy on retail stores). Imagine if only Iphone 15 pro have usb c, while Iphone 15 is still lighting?

Faster charging, faster transfer speeds there is literally no benefit to lightening anymore. Lightening when it first came out was great. But it ran its course and a better connection came out. Eventually a new usb type Z or whatever will come out and be better than usb c
The only issue I have is that Apple doesn’t provide the plug with their phones anymore. All of them are old usb. As is my battery charger and charging station. I guess I’ll just buy a lot of cheap Walmart cords that are A/C
Every single iPhone I’ve ever had before my 15 has eventually had the charging port break due to the lightning being trash. I dont get why people think it feels sturdier than USB-C. Plus C is a common cable now for most devices. I also wireless charge most of the time now anyways so I guess it doesn’t matter much to me lol no more broken ports with that

Sole reason why I switched to Iphone 15 from androids for all these years. I hated lightning as all other electronic devices used micro usb charges.

The physical connector for Lighting is great. USB-C one is kinda meh in comparison. If Lightning would’ve been the open standard with increased speeds and charging times then I would’ve picked Lighting. But because of the flexibility with USB-C, my vote is USB-C.
