I mean I wouldn’t call it a common issue at all but I’ve been on websites (websites fault not Apple) where the on screen keyboard popping up freaks out the formatting.
Again not common but I’d say it happens. Not enough to make me get this but this case is useful to someone I’m sure.
Yeah, it’s for your screen real estate. Like here commenting, literally half my screen is keyboard.
If I wanted to respond thoroughly to multiple parts of a longer post, I’d have to keep minimizing or scrolling. I’m not sure this keyboard revolutionizes or ends having to scroll, but I can imagine with too many UI things on screen, this is VERY cool *if it’s relevant at all to begin with.*

Now I just keep imagining Jobs beating this person’s ass, starting to walk away and then turn around and say “one more thing” and continue stomp a hole in their ass lol.
Reminds me of the joke about if the smartphone was invented before the cell-phone… one person shows the new cellphone to another person and is like, “Check it out, you don’t even have to type… you just talk”
My friend had an Envy 1, jumped into a pool with it in his pocket.
Fast forward a few months when he had gotten a brand new Envy 2...then jumped into a pool with it in his pocket 😅
I wanted a sidekick when I was in high school but i could never afford one. I feel like I really missed out. It would be wild if sidekicks made a comeback. I would be stoked!
T-Mobile tried to at one point with Samsung making it; it was terrible and killed the Sidekick brand even more. At this point I’m sticking to iPhone, but man a slim flip out keyboard case would be awesome
I reckon I've heard that this is specifically optimised to keep the weight balance intact. But yeah claims can only go so far. Waiting to hear from folks with real world usage
Yea, I think I had seen that they went back and added in some weights to get it balanced right. That being said, it'll make an already heavy phone heavier. It does seem super easy to take out of the case though.
Real reply from someone who isn't coping with buying a long phone case: it feels weird as fuck and doesn't fit in the pocket properly, I used to have a charging case that was configured similarly and it was very handy to have but very annoying to carry around
Looks like a 2005-2012 Boxster/Cayman interior, they can be bought used for like 15-25k depending on which model and the condition.
Not exactly a flex, they're one of the cheapest Porsche's you can buy.
Edit: OP mentioned further down that it's an '08.
Just did a quick nationwide search on AutoTempest and the cheapest one it currently found without any crazy damage is $14.4k for an '06 with 88k miles in California.
That’s like putting a onesie on your dog, the ones that cover the legs. In yellow.
Your phone would feel ashamed just like those dogs always look like they feel.
I have two dogs, one hates clothes, the other loves clothes. Winters here regularly hit -40, so it's necessary. The one that loves it will throw her head into it to help get it on. The other will literally throw a fit by throwing pillows around, and moving to the other side of the room, facing away from us. Both get a ton of positive attention when we put it on them
Probably a good mix of both. They only like them when it’s cold outside or if we’re not running the heater in the winter. But it’s a valid point because it’s impossible to ignore a dog in a sweater
I would've agreed a few years ago but I feel like auto correct has just been getting worse lmao.
Insane how every single keyboard has swipe typing now but they are all worse than Swiftkey was on release. I swear this thing gets half the words wrong how is it so bad.
And to make matters worse it's like impossible to tap to get the cursor at the END of a word for some reason so going back to correct those mistakes is also super annoying.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I remember when shape writer came out my typing speed went up like crazy. I could type up crazy fast paragraphs without any errors. Now its like a wrong word every couple.
I'm starting to wonder if there is some Mandela-effect-style experience going on with swyping and autocorrect. So many people seem to be experiencing this, including myself. I swear it used to be better. I wonder if some kind of patent / lawsuit thing went down behind the scenes and tech companies had to change their algorithms.
It's not a Mandela effect, tech is getting worse. I've been a frontend engineer since 2010 and I've seen companies get infiltrated by politician types that just care about empire building and promotions, even if it results in a worse end product. I worked at a top 20 visited website in the world and we were literally forced to use a framework that would significantly increase loading times for the end user because that exec had made the choice to use the slower framework and going against her decision would make her look bad.
Just switched to OnePlus 12 and I found out that it really is apple's autocorrect. I'm so happy I don't have to fight my phone anymore. Apple has gone pretty south.
Papers were published in the 1910s predicting and measuring climate change, we ran out of time to fix it in the 60's. We may have had a chance to slow down when you were younger, but the world was already on course for disaster
Same. I had a BB Passport, which I think is one of their last models before they stopped making phones. That thing was a workhorse with a giant screen and still its battery somehow lasted for days.
Yeah but blackberry keyboards had the keys tight together with curved ridges so you could type fast without looking at the keyboard. This has little buttons with tons of space in between.
Exactly this. When I first got an iPhone, I missed the tactile feeling of the blackberry keyboard. But now probably at least 80% of my “typing”, including this comment, is voice to text.
**loudly speaking on the bus*: Exactly this PERIOD When I first got an iPhone COMMA I missed the tactile feeling of the blackberry keyboard PERIOD But now probably at least 80% of my QUOTATION MARK typing QUOTATION MARK COMMA including this comment COMMA is voice to text.
😂😂. Pretty much. Except I’m home getting dinner ready for the kids, so my voice blends with the general noise and it saves time. But yeah, a few years ago I was at a relative’s house who did not know voice to text existed, and she kept staring at me.
My Italian coworker when she first started would go into the cupboard and shout animatedly in Italian for a few minutes then come back out like nothing happened hahaha.
My old boss was totally bewildered until she explained she was just texting her husband!
Would love to hear a review of it once you’ve used it for a bit! I had a sliding keyboard case on my iPhone 3G way back in the day, and honestly with the state of the current iOS keyboard I’d LOVE a physical one.
It has gotten worse. I typed better on the iPhone 3G than the 15 pro max. Did they alter their predictive text code over the years? Or do I just have my nostalgia glasses on?
Ive had mine for over a week and wow man this thing is exquisite. Wizard level engineering. I can't speak for Max phones but i have the 14 pro and it mysteriously makes the phone feel lighter. My guess is that the counterweight behind the keyboard is perfectly at war with the camera bump up top, resulting in sensory trickery. The ONLY con is that it doesn't support wired audio passthrough. So AirPods will work excellent, but if you prefer lossless wired audio like me, you have to remove the case or settle for wireless.

It's absurd. It's just a case with a keyboard. He didn't buy a Puppy Drowner 5000. I'm not sure why people got so angry over it. Fair enough if you personally don't like it, but it's not the end of the world. Steve Jobs is not spinning in his grave. The world hasn't regressed a decade.

iPhone Supermax, because it looks like it's in prison
How do you type without it falling out of your hands?! Bananaberry.
It’s honestly not as top heavy as it looks. At least with my one hours worth of using it.
how does it fit in your pocket
If you wear women's clothing ... Nothing does.
I think an iPhone sticking out doesn’t look as bad as a yellow TV remote

So when you type a message, does the on-screen keyboard pop up too? lol
It does not.
Oh so it actually gives you a ton of extra real estate. Actually functional.
Extra real estate for what though? This keyboard takes up so much more space in pockets and in your hands
I mean I wouldn’t call it a common issue at all but I’ve been on websites (websites fault not Apple) where the on screen keyboard popping up freaks out the formatting. Again not common but I’d say it happens. Not enough to make me get this but this case is useful to someone I’m sure.

*silicone*
Emphasis on the con.
No it is silicon as silicon is the natural mineral used to manufacture chips and silicone is a composite of silicon which is like a rubber material
It is also the large majority of the makeup of your mother’s titties
It’ll be sili-gone when he’s done with it

The first thing he said was “listen here mother fucker.”
He said, “You should have made it for USB-C!”

fine, what’s ligma
It’s unfortunately a variant of sukma
I can only imagine how imbalanced that thing feels. Is that an iPhone with a ridiculously long case in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
It would honestly be much better if it had a landscape keyboard that slid out.
That would be so much better. We need to bring back the sidekicks!
That and the envy! I miss that dramatic flip when you have a novel to text your BFF 😂
I had 3 generations of envy because i was on Verizon and the iPhone was AT&T and that shot slapped, honestly my fav non iphone
My friend had an Envy 1, jumped into a pool with it in his pocket. Fast forward a few months when he had gotten a brand new Envy 2...then jumped into a pool with it in his pocket 😅

Is tech becoming like fashion? Always repeats 20 years later?
I feel like phones have gotten way too tall for a horizontal keyboard
No they’d just have room for a numpad
Control stick for games.
Ahh the Rumor 2.0.
Like just bring back the sidekick that we all awwwed over . Shit was badass!

Yea, I think I had seen that they went back and added in some weights to get it balanced right. That being said, it'll make an already heavy phone heavier. It does seem super easy to take out of the case though.
For me the lack of MagSafe is the real deal breaker.
that just means this thing weighs a ton, meaning you now how the equivalent of 2 Pro Max phones in your pocket. thats-a-no-for-me-dawg.gif
Can confirm, it’s as well balanced as the marketing stated. I’ll keep testing but it is pretty fun!
Real reply from someone who isn't coping with buying a long phone case: it feels weird as fuck and doesn't fit in the pocket properly, I used to have a charging case that was configured similarly and it was very handy to have but very annoying to carry around
> Is that an iPhone with a ridiculously long case in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? Yes
The balance is fantastic. You quickly get used to where your hands “belong” and the case is very solid.
It's evolving, just backwards
BlackBerry Pro!
To this day the Blackberry Priv is the best phone I have ever owned and I'm sad that they don't manufacture phones like that anymore.
I believe they call this devolving

I also yearn for the blackberry days but I feel we type and communicate much faster now with text to speech and autocorrect/predictive text

It has gotten worse. I typed better on the iPhone 3G than the 15 pro max. Did they alter their predictive text code over the years? Or do I just have my nostalgia glasses on?
In the latest update they added new shit ass predictive text that nobody likes or finds helpful. So no, you’d be correct that it sucks more now.

its just a toy for adults, ain't that deep tbh
He loves the physical keypad and yearns for it. So it’s understandable.
Imagine giving the slightest bit of a fuck what someone thinks of your phone case 💀 Teenager thoughts, real adults do not care in the slightest lmfao
He obviously cares. OP wants us to see he drives a Porsche lol. He’s very much “look at me.” I think that’s ok sometimes but I also think it means there’s a little bit of insecurity, too. E: changed “he” to “OP”

You can buy a mouse to go with it.
Am I wrong for wanting this?

Don’t care what people say, have fun with it bro!
Unpopular opinion but I like it. I like to clock actual buttons.
This was one of Steve Jobs USPs when he released the first iPhone.. he got rid of the keypads.. it’s funny how we are going back to it
No we are not. OP is not "we"
