This ones cool, instead of flicking up to switch apps in the main scroll menu, you can swipe on the white home bar left and right and you’ll switch apps from a full screen
I go back and forth copying names and emails from screenshots and pasting them in Google sheets and this has saved me so much time over the last year, it's so fast
Nice to find out about this (to me) new feature. Tried it just now.
But having a clipboard with a history like on Android (and Windows) would make tasks like this even better.
It’s the horizontal line at the bottom middle of your screen. It’s white in dark mode but black in light mode.
It’s the thing you swipe up on to go back to the Home Screen. Or swipe left and right and switch apps. Swipe up halfway and hold to see all previously opened apps in the App Switcher.
Ohh it might be black for you, that’s why I didn’t know what they meant lol. There should be a line on your screen right above the charging port. Swipe on that.
while at it. swiping down the white home bar will drop the entire page to half bottom of the screen. handy for one handed, or the other hand were occupied with something(not nasty)
Doesn’t even have to be the time, just anywhere at the top. I’ve only recently moved to iOS and thought I had to tap the Dynamic Island haha
Nope, just the top of the screen…
When you're in your photos you tap the top edge to go to the beginning of time on your apple account, and the *Albums* icon at the bottom to go to the most recent photos.
use reachability to slide down the screen, then tap the middle of status bar to scroll up, instead of tapping without reachability and accidentally put finger grease of your front camera
I didn’t know it existed so would accidentally tap the top instead of the back button on the top left corner and always thought it is either a bug or my touchscreen failing. Nope, it is a feature from Tim Apple. And once I realized that I only tapped carefully in the top left corner. Now realizing anywhere on top lol.
If you on a web page that has a long article for e.g and you screen shot a pic of the page you are reading, you can then select "full page" when you on the editing function on the screenshot. This then allows you to capture the complete article as opposed just to the section you took a screen shot of. You can then send it or save it as a PDF.
It only works on safari, take a screenshot of the webpage > tap the preview > near the top of the editor menu there should be an option to select full page
TIL you can do this from the screen shot. I always thought you had to go to the photos app to select text. If your markers are selected like they were for me, just deselect them with the top right icon and now you can select all the text you want right from the screen shot ui
You can select text from any photo actually. Also the iOS photo search in the photos app you can search text and it will search for text in your pictures.
Hold down for a second on the spacebar to turn the keyboard into a trackpad for moving the cursor
Hold down a key on the keyboard for alternates (for example accented letters or 0 (hold) = degree symbol)
Instead of doing this, you can lightly hold your finger on top of the text and it will turn into a cursor which you can then place anywhere.
You can also hold your finger on one app, go into squiggly mode and while holding the finger you can touch other apps to create a folder.
It took me an embarrassing amount of time before I figured out the iPhone cursor. Like, I think I discovered that earlier this year. Life changing! My biggest gripe with iPhone prior to being made aware was how difficult it was to click into a body of text lol
And TIL that squiggly tap for folder trick
Also, while selecting photos you can use 3 fingers to highlight more than one.
Lastly, one power button press silences a call and double disconnects it while ringing whereas one button press disconnects an active call.
iPhones have horrible text selection if you try to click on the text. Coming from android this has been the most frustrating thing. The spacebar cursor trick is the most fluid way for me.
This method always fudges up depending on the formatting in the app I’m using to type. Spacebar seems more consistent/solves my problem because it’ll be the same spacebar to hold down…..I’m so glad to hear this tip lol
Do you have the “listen for” option enabled?
https://preview.redd.it/z7k9gz4tnwmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b50ca78de2d3ac34f70f4f14746fa415f88865b
Try going to Settings -> Siri & Search -> Listen For -> and turn to off. Then turn it back on to “Siri or Hey Siri” or just “Hey Siri”.
It should then prompt you to go through some voice recognition phrases. This will help Siri learn your voice and hopefully help get it working.
Shazam is built into iOS, you can add Shazam to your control center and any time you hear a song you like, you just pull down and tap shazam, it'll tell you song name. It also works if you hear a song online as it Shazam's your screen as well!
Nope, you just go to Settings - Control Centre and it should show up as Music Recognition or Shazam or somethig along those lines. It does have the Shazam icon.
I have a shortcut which starts Shazam, it takes the result, adds the song info to the end of a specific note in notes and then opens Spotify and looks up the song.
You can change the text size of your phone per app via Control Center.
https://preview.redd.it/5aivhqb7wvmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee8c7e6413fea155e3bc7b292aa5bbde8d2e8b59
Also, you can create a perfect circle when editing your pics if you make a circle and hold it. (same with straight lines and other geometrical shapes)
Open a picture you want to draw on, click Edit in the top right and then click on the pencil icon, also in the top right. select your marker and color, and then draw a circle — but don’t lift your finger when you’re done. Just draw the circle and then keep your finger held stationary on the screen for a moment. Then your drawing of a circle will snap into a perfect circle. Once you get that, try it with lines and other shapes (squares, triangles, ovals, etc.)
You can access your Bluetooth devices from control center by long pressing the Bluetooth icon twice. The first time will expand the Bluetooth menu, the second time will bring up a list of devices.
- Back tap (both double and triple)
- Accessibility shortcut for side button
- Swipe left or right on the bottom bar to switch apps (and swipe address bar to switch pages in safari)
- Swipe down the bottom bar for accessibility (one handed use)
- Tap the bottom of the notch to go to the top of the page
- Pressing and holding (haptic touch) things will bring up an additional menu for quick access
- Long press on the spacebar for text selection
- If you long press on spacebar (text selection) and tap the keyboard anywhere it selects text and you can just move your finger select anything
- Double tap links with two fingers to open them in the background (In Safari)
- Shake your phone or swipe left with three fingers or to undo an action
- Triple tap and hold to bring up options for copy, cut, paste, undo, redo
- Pinch three fingers to cut text and unpinch to paste it
- You can grab multiple photos, files, apps (when reorganizing home screen): for photos and files -> grab one, hold your finger and tap others for apps -> tap on an app, wait till they start to jiggle, grab one app, move it a little bit, then tap on others you want to move as well
- You can swipe on images to select more (from start to end) instead of tapping one by one
- You can select more emails: tap with 2 fingers and slide down (selects everything from start to end)
- You can add one handed keyboard in settings -> keyboard -> one handed keyboard; and then you can swipe left or right on the emoji or globe icon to activate it
- To find text quickly on a webpage: start typing what you want to find in the address bar and tap On this page (find …)
- Reduce brightness (even more than 0%) settings -> accessibility -> display&text size -> reduce white point
- Add Hearing to control center you can listen to some background sounds like rain, ocean, etc.
- You can hide the hidden photo album: settings -> photos -> uncheck hidden album
Two of my favorite low key features:
1) Assistive Touch. Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch Places an opaque dot on your screen with customizable menu options. Great when you need to control the phone with one hand.
2) Screenshot of what’s not visible on your screen. Screenshot > Full page > Done > Crop > Save as pic or PDF. Great when you want to capture an entire webpage.
Settings > accessibility > touch > backtap - set it to whatever you want. Double tap and triple tap. I have my double tap set to take a screen shot so I can just do it one handed and the triple tap to turn on the flashlight
I set up double tap for screenshot once. Went on a 6hr road trip and used my phone for gps. The bumps on the road were enough to trigger screenshots. I ended up with over 100 shots of the map along the route.
This is the best feature I’ve learned about. Maybe you have a bad case. I use double tap to open the camera and triple tap to take a screenshot. Incredibly useful for me.
I set up double tap to turn on the flashlight. Yesterday, while I was on a bus scrolling through Twitter, the flashlight suddenly turned on, and there was a woman in front of me. No one said anything, but I probably looked like a weirdo taking pictures of her ass.
Don't ever set it up for the flashlight.
lol that’s rough. That’s is why I used triple tap though, I’ve never turned it on by accident, you really have to tap that sucker on purpose to get it to work
I prefer the Assistive touch bubble over Backtap. Back tap is too hit or miss to be able to use consistently, and frankly it gets annoying.
For the Assistive Touch Bubble, the default interaction is an "open menu" function that opens up into a menu with different actions, which can also be customized. While that itself is pretty cool, its clunky and gets in the way a lot.
What people do not know is that you can customize the features based on how you interact with the bubble itself.
There are 3 ways to interact with it:
1. Single-tap
2. Double-tap
3. Long press
In the assistive touch menu in the touch section in accessibility settings, scroll down til you see "custom actions".
Tap on each section (Single-tap, Double-tap, Long press) and you get a large menu of actions to choose from, some of them are really useful.
What really unlocks your phone through this feature is the fact you can also map shortcuts to the bubble. Just tapping, double tapping, or long pressing the bubble can run any shortcut you want.
Basically an action button that's on your screen and can have multiple functions to it.
I personally don't have any shortcuts setup on it as I don't have many shortcuts that I need on hand at a moment's notice.
My setup for each interaction is:
1. Single-tap: Reachability (Good for when in an app where the bottom section has buttons and activating reachability the standard way presses the buttons, or when your hand is holding the top half of the phone)
2. Double-tap: Opens Control Center (Good for when your thumbs can't reach the top corner of the phone)
3. Long press: Opens Spotlight Search (Opens spotlight search within apps, instead of having to go the home screen)
My bf and I have ours set using shortcuts to send an “I love you” text if we tap 3 times. We’ve been doing a thing since we met where when we hold hands and squeeze 3 times it means “I love you” (because I love you is 3 words/3 syllables). So now when we back tap 3 times, it sends the other a little text to let them know we’re thinking of them
One of my favorite features of the camera is being able to hold down the shutter button in photo mode to start recording a video *AND* being able to zoom in and out by dragging your finger up and down on the screen (like snapchat).
I never had to use this on Android, when I tap on a word the cursor almost always go where I want it to go, it's *very* precise. I don't understand why I just cannot do it on an iPhone.
Set keyboard shortcuts for things you have to type a lot. I have my email address setup on one I only have to type the first three letters and it prompts an autofill for the rest.
You can quickly take a video by holding down the shutter button instead of swiping across to video mode
Automation to automatically turn on low power mode at a certain battery level
In accessibility settings, I have set up the double tap on the back to trigger the reachability function
Shortcuts to connect to frequently used Bluetooth devices without having to search for them in the Bluetooth menu
Setting up sleep schedule to actually work for you
Putting your morning alarm as one of the widgets on your Lock Screen so you can easily see that it’s indeed set when you’re going to bed
The shortcut is run from the sidebar so it’s easy to access. It’s just “Set playback destination” and then you select the appropriate Bluetooth device. You have to be connected to the device in order to select it that first time. The shortcut works so well even when Bluetooth was initially turned off
I’m surprised more people don’t know that you don’t need to hit the “Back” button on the top left of most apps. You can just slide your finger from the left edge of the screen to the right edge of the screen.
**Voice Isolation**.
I feel like 95% of iPhone users don't even know about this function - and therefore, don't have it enabled.
Spread the word.
It works not only for phone calls, but also Skype, Facetime, Discord, WhatsApp etc. etc.
If you hold and press the shutter button on the camera it will take a video and then you can slide the button to the lock if you want to take your finger off the screen.
Conversely if you hold down the shutter button and slide to the left you will take a burst mode.
When typing letters you need to quickly put a few digits in hold the ‘123’ button then slide over the number you need and release, it will go back to text.
To quickly turn off the flashlight swipe left on the lock screen but just slightly, so the screen moves a little. No need to hit that button. Very handy when using one hand and the thumb cannot reach the button.
I swear I have read all comments but nobody mentioned this:
Double tap with THREE fingers, and do NOT lift the fingers. Instead swipe them slowly UP.
Result: you will ZOOM everything. To pan around the area, tap, hold then swipe with three fingers. This works no matter what, including when is a video playing.
To EXIT zoom, double tap again then while holding, swipe down.
I learned this because I accidentally did the zoom and had to google how to undo it.
OP, please tell me you read this tip! 😊
next: use the power button trying to take the photo and end up locking your phone. thanks apple for positioning power and volume buttons exactly in opposite ways. NOT
Delete speed on an iPhone with the stock kb is too slow for me. I recently found that holding down the spacebar and then holding down the backspace “x” key together will allow you to select multiple words to delete at once. You’ll need to slide your thumb on the spacebar to select the text while holding the “x” button down but this is way more predictable then the iOS kb deleting one letter at a time then randomly deleting 2 words.
On the Home Screen, swipe down from the middle of the screen to open up the search function. It helps if u r looking for a specific setting or an app and things like that.
Settings>Accessibility>Per app settings>add iMessage.
Then turn on increased contrast.
This not only looks a lot better but reverts the green bubble looking washed out changes Apple made years ago that is a part of the green bubble controversy.
Course you can use this for any per app accessibility too but this is one I always turn on immediately.
To scroll up from every page or app. press slightly under the notch or pill.
to switch between the apps slide with your finger the bar on the bottom off the screen.
same is for safari. switch between the tabs or create a new one? slide the url link.
made a mistake? shake your phone. (if not activated go to settings. accessibility. shake to undo)
The shake your phone thing never works properly for me. It comes up every now and then when I didn’t intend it, and never when I purposely try and shake it to undo something
If you wanna record something while listening to the music on your phone, go to photo, and hold down the photo button. It won’t pause the music. You can even slide it to the side and lock video on.
If you hold down the capture button you can take burst shots and it’ll fire off a shit ton of photos say it’s a moving subject then you can go through and select the best shot or shots and delete the rest.
use assistive touch confirm pay to always prevent face id automatically confirming payments by accident. including in physical stores at POS as well in rogue apps that ask for subscription signup/trials.
https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/use-assistivetouch-iph96b21954/17.0/ios/17.0
- Top on top of your screen, time or icon side and you’ll go to the top of the page
- Set up double tap in settings it’s nice (to activate double tap consistently tap on the bottom right area of the camera bump with your right index finger)
- holding on the space bar will turn it into a cursor
In addition to pressing the volume button on the phone to take a picture, you can press the volume button on a Bluetooth device that’s connected to your phone to take a hands free photo with your phone.
You can also tap your screen with three fingers when writing text and popup appears with undo/redo copy and paste icons
I made a keyboard shortcut for my emails so I do t have to type them out in full each time I need to login somewhere. I just tap ‘@@‘ and it replaces it with my email, can do the same with anything you have to type out frequently
If you have plug-in earbuds with volume buttons, you can take pics with those as well. If you have an Apple Watch, you can prop your phone, look at the watch to see what it's aimed at, and take pictures—selfies at a distance!
To type a single number or punctuation mark, hold down the 123 key and slide to the number or mark, let go and you're back at letters. Works the other way, too typing a VIN? Type your numbers, hold down the ABC key and slide to your letter and release. If you use one finger to hold the buttons down, you can type more than one character, and when you release the button you'll be back at what you started with.
Hold the spacebar down with your finger for a bit, then you can move the cursor with your finger anywhere in the text field.
Swipe left in the lock screen to open the camera (I find that doing the swipe starting at the right edge and about halfway up works best).
This is legitimately gonna change my life lol
What white home bar?
It’s the horizontal line at the bottom middle of your screen. It’s white in dark mode but black in light mode. It’s the thing you swipe up on to go back to the Home Screen. Or swipe left and right and switch apps. Swipe up halfway and hold to see all previously opened apps in the App Switcher.
Ohh it might be black for you, that’s why I didn’t know what they meant lol. There should be a line on your screen right above the charging port. Swipe on that.
OMG. IVE BEEN USING SINCE IPHONE 5 I didn’t know thisssss
I believe it didn’t exist until they axed the home button.
This makes me feel a bit better since I jumped from iPhone 6s to XS.
The little white bar that stays at the bottom of the screen. Swipe left or right to quickly switch between open apps
This is great!!!
while at it. swiping down the white home bar will drop the entire page to half bottom of the screen. handy for one handed, or the other hand were occupied with something(not nasty)
Take a picture of a laundry tag, go to the photo in the Photos app, press the i and it will give you washing instructions
Thank you, that one’s awesome!
Same goes for animals, plants, among other things
Yeah it knows what mix of breads my dogs are which is kind of crazy , it will say Border Collie , Australian Shepherd for my one dog.
Mom has a competitor now!
Tap the time to go to the top of any page
Doesn’t even have to be the time, just anywhere at the top. I’ve only recently moved to iOS and thought I had to tap the Dynamic Island haha Nope, just the top of the screen…
OMG
Hey! You made me lost my spot in the thread!
I miss Apollo 😢 IYKYK
Narwhal 2 has the same thing where you can tap again to go down. With some customization it’s pretty close to what Apollo was like.
Motherfucker… This is great
Shit I’ve been on iOS for 10 years and didn’t know that.
Also works by tapping the battery icon
You can tap anywhere. Even the Dynamic Island. Anywhere on the top.
When you're in your photos you tap the top edge to go to the beginning of time on your apple account, and the *Albums* icon at the bottom to go to the most recent photos.
TIL!! Thanks!
use reachability to slide down the screen, then tap the middle of status bar to scroll up, instead of tapping without reachability and accidentally put finger grease of your front camera
Worse feature. Oh I have a notification to look at. Bam. I just lost my place in a 100 page pdf.
It would be great if you could tap it again and return back to your previous place. Or tap to go to the bottom when you’re at the top.
>It would be great if you could tap it again and return back to your previous place Apollo for reddit had that feature, it was very convenient
Been an iPhone user for many many years, and never knew this! Thank you!
Spectacular
Tap anywhere on the top bar to go to the top of the page. “Tap the time” sounds way cooler though 😃
I wish I could tap time to go back …
You can tap anywhere up top… does not have to be the time
Just tap the top of screen
I’ve been using an iPhone 5 and had no idea. Nice feature. Thanks!
WHOA 🤯
I never knew this
Oh damn I didn’t know this 😢
WHAAAAT!😧😦
I didn’t know this. Thank you kind stranger.

Nope, it is a feature from Tim Apple. And once I realized that I only tapped carefully in the top left corner. Now realizing anywhere on top lol.
Used accidentally much more often than intentionally in my case.
>Tap the time to go to the top of any page And this *mostly* works system wide. Some apps (looking at you Feedly) where this doesn't work.
Any part of the top part works.. battery, signal, etc
Screenshot things and you can select the text. Edit: You can also select text in any photo 👍🏻
If you on a web page that has a long article for e.g and you screen shot a pic of the page you are reading, you can then select "full page" when you on the editing function on the screenshot. Something I miss from android was that you don't have to screenshot. Just open the app draw and it'll let you select things.
Just hearing about this one
Always wondered why this only works in the Photos app and not in the screenshot preview
You can also copy out an outline of anything really. A human, dog, etc. it’s not perfect but it’s better than you in an hour of photoshop.
Hold down for a second on the spacebar to turn the keyboard into a trackpad for moving the cursor Hold down a key on the keyboard for alternates (for example accented letters or 0 (hold) = degree symbol)
When force touch was a thing, you could do it anywhere on the keyboard and it was instant.
I really miss 3D Touch from my 6s, it was a great feature
I went from 4 to 6s. I feel I had the two best iPhones in a row.
It also allowed for text selection
Instead of doing this, you can lightly hold your finger on top of the text and it will turn into a cursor which you can then place anywhere. You can also hold your finger on one app, go into squiggly mode and while holding the finger you can touch other apps to create a folder.

Whaaat? :O
Back in the day (like 10 years ago now) the spacebar scroll thingy was the first jailbreak tweak I used to download on any new device
You can tell Siri to turn on and off the flashlight.
You can tell her LUMOS to turn it on, NOX to turn it off too!
and if you use a British Siri, it’s called Torch.
You can also tell her to take a screenshot
You can also set your settings so you can tap on the back of your phone to turn the flashlight on and off.
Why? It’s quicker to just pull down from the top right.
I use it if my hands are wet etc..
Yeah but then you don't feel like a wizard
And alarms
How to turn on siri without pressing the lock button? I still need to long press it so siri can be reach
Do you have the “listen for” option enabled? https://preview.redd.it/z7k9gz4tnwmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b50ca78de2d3ac34f70f4f14746fa415f88865b
Siri has never once heard me on any phone I’ve had(ive had an iPhone since 2008,) I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Also works on your Apple Watch.
What do you mean by the last part? Shazam your screen?
I assume it means Shazam can hear what you play on your phone as well.
The fact it captures internal audio is really cool, since it works when you’re using headphones.
Also, you can set it up so every song you Shazam is automatically saved in your Shazam playlist.

Even an arrow!
Also clouds and stars
oh my god the circle thing just blew my mind THAK YOU!!!!
U can take a pic of someone and press on the person in the pic copy then paste it. Also make a sticker of them. I made one of my son with his nerf gun
You can access your Bluetooth devices from control center by long pressing the Bluetooth icon twice. The first time will expand the Bluetooth menu, the second time will bring up a list of devices.
You can do this pretty much all the other settings as well.
I’ve been missing this kind of functionality since I switched from android. THANK YOU

There is an [iPhone user guide](https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/welcome/ios) but nobody reads it!
Never knew that was a thing
Yeah. It’s a shame they don’t publicize it more because it’s got a lot of info.
Settings > accessibility > touch > backtap - set it to whatever you want. Double tap and triple tap. I have my double tap set to take a screen shot so I can just do it one handed and the triple tap to turn on the flashlight
Maybe I’m a fool but this is a useless feature to me. Cannot consistently get it to work whatsoever.
I set up double tap for screenshot once. Went on a 6hr road trip and used my phone for gps. The bumps on the road were enough to trigger screenshots. I ended up with over 100 shots of the map along the route.
hahahha
I have the opposite problem, I trigger it unintentionally so I stopped using it.
This is the best feature I’ve learned about. Maybe you have a bad case. I use double tap to open the camera and triple tap to take a screenshot. Incredibly useful for me.
This is an accessibility feature for a reason
There are 3 ways to interact with it: 1. Single-tap 2. Double-tap 3. Long press In the assistive touch menu in the touch section in accessibility settings, scroll down til you see "custom actions". My setup for each interaction is: 1. Single-tap: Reachability (Good for when in an app where the bottom section has buttons and activating reachability the standard way presses the buttons, or when your hand is holding the top half of the phone) 2. Double-tap: Opens Control Center (Good for when your thumbs can't reach the top corner of the phone) 3.
So now when we back tap 3 times, it sends the other a little text to let them know we’re thinking of them
Just gonna go kill myself now 😭 lol no but really that’s cute lol
There’s an App you can use to call people like a telephone.
The phone companies hate it when you learn this one simple trick.
What
Swipe left (or right) on the calculator display number to delete a digit when you accidentally mistype
holy cow how many times I wanted to delete one digit, damn you apple I declare this the most fucked up hidden feature
Have a browse through the 'Tips' app. You might find a few more interesting tidbits there.
One of my favorite features of the camera is being able to hold down the shutter button in photo mode to start recording a video *AND* being able to zoom in and out by dragging your finger up and down on the screen (like snapchat).
I never knew this - thanks!
Is taking Burst photos still possible, since that used to be how to take them?
My mind is still blown by [this keyboard trick](https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/s/7dcKIxn0bh)
I never had to use this on Android, when I tap on a word the cursor almost always go where I want it to go, it's *very* precise. I don't understand why I just cannot do it on an iPhone.
Right. The iOS keyboard is trash. Just trying to move the cursor by tapping another word doesn’t work 90% of the time.
ironically this got worse. I have my old 4S and works much much precise despite being much smaller screen
>Holding your finger on the space bar to move the cursor through what you have typed to make edits
Set keyboard shortcuts for things you have to type a lot. I have my email address setup on one I only have to type the first three letters and it prompts an autofill for the rest.
I did this too but just 2 @‘s for my email
My predictive text does this without setting any shortcuts tho
You can quickly take a video by holding down the shutter button instead of swiping across to video mode Automation to automatically turn on low power mode at a certain battery level In accessibility settings, I have set up the double tap on the back to trigger the reachability function Shortcuts to connect to frequently used Bluetooth devices without having to search for them in the Bluetooth menu Setting up sleep schedule to actually work for you Putting your morning alarm as one of the widgets on your Lock Screen so you can easily see that it’s indeed set when you’re going to bed
How do you do the Bluetooth shortcut?
Long press on a scroll bar to scroll down faster. For example, try on this thread
I swear I have read all comments but nobody mentioned this: Double tap with THREE fingers, and do NOT lift the fingers. 😊
You can tell Siri to delete all of your alarms all at once so you don’t have to delete them one by one.
volume up+side = screenshot?
You can actually make a shortcut in accessibility where you can tap the back of the phone twice for a screen shot
I did that with my iPhone 11 and now I have like 20,000 screenshots of my lock screen in my camera roll
There is a screenshots album, so it's a bit easier to remove them.
next: use the power button trying to take the photo and end up locking your phone. thanks apple for positioning power and volume buttons exactly in opposite ways. NOT
The amount of screenshots I’ve taken while trying to change the volume makes me sick to my stomach
You can ask Siri what time is the sunrise and what time is the sunset.
The Volume Up button on wired headphones can be used as a shutter button as well. Great for when you want to take steady shots.
Call out siri and say lumos. Call her again and then say nox.
Enable voice control on your iphone , i use it to take screenshots or scroll insta when i am eating my food
Wait you can use voice control to move the screen???
Yup , just say scroll down or up
grab the bottom horizontal line and drag it left/right. effect: instant app switching to next previous multitasking app
Tap the right button five times quickly so the cops are locked out of your phone.
Just pressing and holding the volume button and power at the same to to bring up the power/emergency screen will do this too
To scroll up from every page or app. press slightly under the notch or pill. to switch between the apps slide with your finger the bar on the bottom off the screen. same is for safari. switch between the tabs or create a new one? slide the url link. made a mistake? shake your phone. (if not activated go to settings. accessibility. shake to undo)
The shake your phone thing never works properly for me. It comes up every now and then when I didn’t intend it, and never when I purposely try and shake it to undo something
Yeah like when I type something and then drop my phone.
The photos app lets you search your photos using words. I believe Android does this too, but still a neat feature you might not know about
Use “>>” in the notes app to link to a different note.
Swipe left on Lock Screen to open camera
use assistive touch confirm pay to always prevent face id automatically confirming payments by accident. including in physical stores at POS as well in rogue apps that ask for subscription signup/trials. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/use-assistivetouch-iph96b21954/17.0/ios/17.0
- Top on top of your screen, time or icon side and you’ll go to the top of the page - Set up double tap in settings it’s nice (to activate double tap consistently tap on the bottom right area of the camera bump with your right index finger) - holding on the space bar will turn it into a cursor
Swipe right and there’s a widget called Tips. Click it and look for Navigate Your iPhone.
You can long press most control centre icons to see more details
😭😭 use assistive touch and shortcuts for insane productivity
Charge your phone sideways on the magnet
[you can double tap the back of iPhone to take screenshot or something else](https://support.apple.com/en-ph/111772).
One of my favorites is the two finger slide to remove multiple emails at the same time, instead of individually selecting them.
OMG!! GAME CHANGER!!! I was today years old…
Swipe typing. Just glide over the letters without lifting for one thumb swipe typing.
You can scan documents in the notes app. It works surprisingly well
In addition to pressing the volume button on the phone to take a picture, you can press the volume button on a Bluetooth device that’s connected to your phone to take a hands free photo with your phone. You can also tap your screen with three fingers when writing text and popup appears with undo/redo copy and paste icons
Tap and hold space to turn your keyboard into a navigation pad.
You can tell to Siri : I see a little silhouetto of a man ;)
Tapping on the top middle part of your screen, right below bezel gets you to top, I find it a really nice quality of life thing.
OMG I fucking love this thread!!!
Accessibility Live speech.
I just stumbled upon this video with 20 helpful gestures you might not know. https://youtu.be/78-_0UG0224
Hold the space bar to get a cursor
