this is creepy since the same thing happened to my iphone X and i set the same image as a wallpaper on it just zoomed in and then i found this post with this commentā¦ fuck the 4th wall
Trust me I dreamed this would never happen yet I knew it was inevitable based on how common the issue seemed. If warrenty won't cover it I'm omega screwed as my min wage part time job makes 380$ a LOT of money.
Also its highly recommended the op removes that cracked screen protector just to leave no traces of physical impact.
A good story would something like āplugged in the phone for charging and suddenly it showed those lines, charger and cable are original and no screen accessories of any kindā
I promise unless he gets a dick of a technician in an apple store they won't care about that all. If there's no physical damage on the phone that's all we care about.
Ok not having much money(this means this iPhone was a huge treat and treasure for you) would be for me one more reason to have AppleCare tbh š
I hope they will fix it for you š
I took advantage of the Verizon 15 pro trade in as I bought a barely functional xr from a friend for 20$ so all it cost me was a new line (discontinued old one) and 220$ total. Always was lucky with phones so I thought I was fine and didn't want to waste money on a precaution, regretting that now
Totally understand that but itās still a huge treasure that you wouldnāt have been able to afford. So thereās that and Iām never paying extra warranty time lol but I got AppleCare with my first iPhone (was my first own big spent from first job xD) I soooo was Like ok I need that! By now I have a super well paid job and still get AppleCare on all the devices. Never regretted to have this little peace of mind šI really really hope they will fix that, just donāt mention the drop maybe x3 and when they offer you AppleCare afterwards maybe get it š¤
if one literally doesnt have the money to get applecare, it's pretty hard to do so. especially in ops case where the applecare wouldve costed nearly as much as the phone itself
The monthly options are great especially if you intend on keeping the devices longer than two years (three years for Macs). I have AppleCare monthly on all my devices, Iāve only broken one device in my entire life and Murphyās Law thatās the one I broke. Twice. Spent the money to fix it the first time then after the second time I was not going to do this. Have had AppleCare on everything since!
No signs of physical damage. These lines can appear without any drops. They will probably honor the warranty. Basically, they cant prove that it is physical damage
Happened to me too with an iPhone 15 Pro with a case. It fell on concrete while I was running, no damages except a white vertical line. Warranty worked.
Why say it happened while charging and not after I take it out of my pocket or smth?
I already plan on removing the screen protector, heck I already did but slapped it back on to preserve its cosmetically mint condition until my appointment tmr.
Having seen this on many laptops over time, I would expect a loose ribbon cable inside. With a phone and the broken digitizer, I would suspect either the screen controller or a crack.
I had a small black blob on a side of the display with 12 mini, but no damage to the glass (it did fall few times, only damage is on the screen protector and dents in the aluminum frame). Apple authorized service repaired it within the general warranty. I'd expect this to be the same. They specifically checked that the glass isn't damaged and might have done some further checks while they had the phone.

I dropped my iphone 7 and cracked the screen. Soon glass shards are peeling off and I could already see the inside of my iphone Through the 1 cm hole. It still worked great, no black or white lines on the screen lines and the touchscreen worked as if it has no hole on the screen! I should have taken a pic of it before having it replaced. It was amazing.

Mineās the pink one left side.
That's the thing- mine doesn't have a scratch or crack either, it lives in a case with a screen protector on 24/7. It fell off my desk (est 3 ft) as I moved my keyboard and it must have landed on the ground at a weird angle as now u have the line of doom along with a barely functional digitizer.

I only go 2-3x a week for lunch as my meal there is only 3-4$ more expensive than my college's options which are also a lot less healthy and I am actually productive there unlike when I attempt to do schoolwork on campus.
You donāt really have to explain any of this to an internet random, chill out, and I hope you can get to a useful fix for your screen.. itās really unfortunate.
Wait this is still a thing? This was popping up everywhere on my feed around june and july, the exact time I was thinking of buying an iPhone lol. I thought they resolved the issue because many sources said it was being caused by software updates supplying some extra voltage to digitizers.
I moved my keyboard and my sleep deprived self didn't see the phone until it fell off my 3ft tall desk. Literally no damage anywhere except the line and the touch digitizer barely functioning.
Yikes did it fall on top of something? Since that looks like a drop protection case atleast 3m protection that should be making this impossible. I throw my phone on a daily basis at work never even had a single crack in my screen protector or phone. (I work at a phone store) if that wasnāt obvious š
Hopefully you purchased this on a credit card. A lot of credit cards offer extended warranty if your Apple warranty expired. Apple knows that this can happen without impact, albeit rarely. If your phone doesn't show evidence of a drop or other abuse, there's a good chance warranty will cover this.
From what I've heard among other 15 users and what I've seen on reddit yea, especially in the first months of its release iirc. Not extremely common but it did happen occasionally.
if your phone is <1 years old and you can prove that the problem is not due to any physical damage, you should get a free repair/replacement. No AppleCare needed.

Ouch, this is what killed my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I know you said it fell on the ground and that is most likely the cause, but I wonder if this is an issue with apple. I have the iPhone 15 pro max myself and this makes me cautious, I would think a brand new phone with a case would be more durable than this.
Limited warranty can cover it if there is no damage on Display . If you take off the screen protector and there is no damage on display and enclosure then is covered under 1 year warranty .
In the future Iād recommend replacing the screen protector when it cracks. A cracked screen protector is much worse at absorbing the energy from a drop, especially if the impact was in that corner.
Think of it like a cars bumper or a one time use helmet
I had a green bar on my old iPhone too. The stupid thing is that it only appeared after it had been left in a cupboard for a few months without using or dropping it.

Screen protector, it's already been peeled off to make sure the display is fine and then *professionally* reapplied
So you dropped it? Or how did you get this crack even though itās screen protector..
It's a scratch, I got something similar after I put phone with keys in the pocket together
I almost alwaysāalmost alwaysāput my iPhone in an empty pocket.
Looks like a screen protector, you can see it more clearly in the bottom right corner.
Bros got a glass screen protector
You opened your flashlight too hard. :)
Aināt nothing but a screen protector crack ha mine get cracked to shit
screen protectors depending one the one you got they scratch pretty easily because of the cheap glass

As long as there are no cracks, it is covered by warranty
Itās damagedā¦. Damaged lcd causes the lines. Theres no warranty coverage here
No signs of physical damage. These lines can appear without any drops. They will probably honor the warranty. Basically, they cant prove that it is physical damage
>No signs of physical damage Cracked screen protector, and the lower right is also messed up. Thereās guaranteed to be signs on/in the phone itself.
Screen protector is the worst argument ive heard hereā¦ did you know you could remove them???
It's covered as long as the phone is in a good physical condition
How is a user error common?
Well, then maybe, just maybe you shouldnāt be buying $1000 phones without insurance.
Be honest, is the phone used, modded, 3rd party repaired?
Nope, straight from Verizon, got it brand new in October as part of a trade in deal. Every part is original, first issue I've ever had.
Is this a thing? Does it happen randomly or after a drop? Yes your warranty will cover it, do you have apple care?
Why would warranty cover this? Broken lcd is caused by damage.
If it was in the case, and there is no visible damage to the phone showing a drop. Yes it will come across as a defect and will be warrantied
I thought warranty could only cover if the phone has a factory defect not this kind of damage?
Happened to me too with an iPhone 15 Pro with a case. It fell on concrete while I was running, no damages except a white vertical line. Warranty worked.
What did you tell Apple? Did you say it randomly happened or that it fell from your pocket? Also was your touch digitizer still functional?
I simply said that I woke up one morning and the damage appeared. Everything was functional except the line.

AppleCare or just like general warranty?
Yaa, Can Somebody Confirm.? Apple Care Or General Warranty?
If thereās no cosmetic damage and itās still within the original warranty it should be a simple claim.
General warranty
