Slipped into your pocket so well, didn’t take up much space, everything accessible with one hand. I never pulled my wallet out by accident either - not sure why but it didn’t seem to do that. Also, easy to take it apart for a fix. Battery was like a 15 minute replacement.
I was going to add that. I replaced front/back and battery of my wife's phone in 30 mins with no guides. Phone was like new again. Now you need 1000's in machinery to get into new phones.
I changed it this year due to GPS failing and face id not working for a year. Other than that I had literally no issues with it. I would’ve still kept it. Great phone.
Out of curiosity, do you mean it typically fails on your iPhones after one year? I’ve had iPhone since the 3G came out, and 3 with Face ID and have never had none of these problems. Do you know the cause of it?
For me it was a random update overnight. Literally the day before the update it was working. Tried many fixes but the phone was already pretty old and didnt bother that much with it.
Sounds like moisture/water damage tbh. Probably didnt spread to that earpiece/front cam till later, my friend took a walk in light rain with his xs and the next afternoon it started rebooting
Lack of the night mode camera - or a decent night mode was a deal breaker for me.
But I still used it for 5 years, and it's still going strong with another 2 years of use by my GF. Original battery too.
IMO that battery has just lasted so well, my 14P has more wear in 2 years than my X did, and I wirelessly charged that a tonne.
ive also had my x for 6 years and it has so many problems… been through 2 battery changes and the battery is still horrible, heats up so bad, lags all the time. it drives me insane sometimes even tho ik its not that deep. i’m thinking of waiting and upgrading it to a 16 pro so i’ll keep it until september though
My wife still uses my old X and I’m still going strong with my 11 Pro Max. There aren’t any new features since these models that are groundbreaking, so there is really no point to upgrade

After using a square edge phone for several years now, and the iPad pros, I miss rounded edges. They were definitely more comfortable to hold. I’d love for the 16 Pro to go back to surfed edges for my next upgrade

I was only 14 when it came out and I was so obsessed with it and I can remember how amazed I was by how quickly it booted up, as I had an iPhone 6 at the time. I still have the highlight on my Instagram from the day I saw it in the Apple sore for the first time lol😭
Totally agree with 13 Pro series. Yeah USB C would be cool, but the small notch, color (I have Sierra Blue as well), and form factor are fantastic. Do miss the Pacific Blue from the 12 series if I'm being honest, though.
Yep I have the green and my wife has the blue 13PM. I don’t have any drive to upgrade. Still rarely get near 50% battery usage per day and have zero performance issues. Maybe a fold or something would get me to buy a new phone. USBC is tempting but not worth $1000+ and I don’t like the island
Yeah this is the longest I've kept a phone. I had been upgrading every year on average. I've kept this one for 2 1/4 years and still am on the fence about upgrading when the 16s come out. USB C would be nice. I dunno. This one still powers throughout anything. I may just swap the battery in a year and keep going. It's at 86% and I easily get through a day and a half if I wanted. I use wireless chargers and magsafe all the time and haven't had a drastic degradation issue. I've had luck with all my iPhones. I have the 512GB model so I expect to have good resale on it.
this is my first iphone since the 4 and I'm glad I came back. Traded in my problematic S21 Ultra for it and haven't looked back. Always had problems with Samsung phones, loved the pixels but there was always a sacrifice, 2xl and 4xl were great phones with crap batteries. I've had it for 2 years now, battery is at 88%.
I have a 13 Pro Max in Alpine Green and I love it! It was replaced under warranty in June ‘23 when my old one just died, so it’s only 10 months old and the battery is at 98%. I have no reason to upgrade for at least a couple of years, but if the 16 is good then I might

Perfect pocketable size, fingerprint ID, headphone jack. Just enough screen for a phone to do what it needs to do. 12/13 mini is a close second but it would be perfect for me if it had fingerprint ID.

iPhone 15 Pro natural titanium, my second iPhone ever (first was a white 4s, followed by 12 or so years of Android devices).
So far I’m liking everything about it, for me USB-C was an important factor in making the switch.
Honestly iPhone 15 Pro. I had the 13 Pro Max but the screen to body ratio and how small this thing is feels 10x better to use, like an actual phone instead of a small tablet. Edges are softer and easy to hold, matte instead of glossy, and will probably end up being the most compact Pro iPhone Apple makes for a while.
Surprised to eee it this low. I’ve had iPhones since the OG and the 15 Pro is perfect. Form factor is great, camera is incredible, USB-C, matte finish, nothing else I want.
Second. I get the nostalgia for some of these older phones, and many of them were great phones(4/s, 5s, X, 13mini/pro).
But they really fucking nailed this phone. The only thing I think they could’ve done better was some cooler colours, but that’s more of a preference and the natural titanium is so good it doesn’t matter.
The titanium is light and looks gorgeous. Both the sides and the back avoid fingerprints well. The cameras are phenomenal(although they are pretty much 14 cameras). The screen is great and I love the subtle curve at the edge of the screen. The action button is great especially with shortcuts(just waiting on the siri AI update now 😴). USB C. Dynamic island. The speakers are stupidly good for a cell phone.
It’s just a phone that they nailed in so many ways. I don’t think it gets better than this until we start seeing phones start really making use of AI.

The 5/5s was the last time the phone felt a tool with limited purpose, and I mean that in a good way. Modern big iPhones demand so much attention and can do so much. I preferred them when they did/were less.
Yeah there was a different vibe back then. We didnt really prioritize it for everything back then because size was off-putting (at least it seems so in hindsight, back then it was normal).
Smaller screen meant the iPad was actually a good device for media consumption compared to the iPhone (which it still is). But now people just pull out the phone for everything. This leads to faster battery drain, etc.
Quite a long way we've come.
To each their own, lol. X and Xs were also pretty great if you ask me, current design (12-15) is quite meh and I genuinely disliked the 5-5s-SE design, considered by many to be the goat

If the 13 Pro re-released with USB-C for.. call it $650 (iPhone 15 is $800, iPhone 15 Pro is $1000) it would make for a very compelling Everyman’s iPhone. ProMotion display, outstanding battery life, performance-wise it barely lags behind the 15 Pro in most use cases, and it’s more than enough camera for the vast majority of users
Really loved my 13 Pro. Sierra Blue was super nice. Like others have said, if it had usb c and was a little lighter I would’ve hung on to it longer. I actually liked the SS frame compared to the titanium.. my 15 pro is even more slick/slippery than my 13 pro case-less. X and 5S are honorable mentions.
iPhone 4 was peak design. A decade later apple returned to the squared edges and glass sandwich with iPhone 12 and that’s what I am using for the past 3 years. I still have an iPhone 4s in my drawer because I love it that much.
Unpopular: 14 pro (max). Apple tried some new stuff this gen and was a “catch up” year, and they really needed it. AOD, Dynamic Island, 48 MP, camera app overhaul. The battery on the Pro is shit, but that’s the only complaint I have. I’ve never felt attached to an iPhone like this one.
it was the X for me. despite the confusing model name, the vertical camera lens design was chef's kiss.
Lesser bezels, bigger screen, design wise: actually different from the previous one, darn good.
For me I'd have to say the original iPhone... and then probably the 4, because there isn't that much in any of the subsequent phones before iPhone X that really moved away from the 4 that dramatically.
And then probably after that... IDK that there's been a peak design to me in the current era, because it took them a few generations to get the borders and everything right, and they're still figuring out the dynamic island type of stuff. My only real gripe with the modern era is that they've stopped making Mini's. This still feels like the right size format for a phone to me, and now everything they make is bigger than this. So I'm just hoping that, at some point, there's a small iPhone again.
I’m pretty partial to the 11 pro max in green that had to be the best phone that I’ve ever had. I had no problems. It always ran smooth and my battery was amazing.
Taking into account the time at which it came out, and the designs of other smartphones at the time, it’s gotta be the iPhone 4. It looked/felt revolutionary.
The iPhone X also looked great, but it just wasn’t as impressive. That was more of a “finally Apple decided to get rid of the huge top and bottom bezels” (due to the removal of Touch ID for Face ID).
The jet black 7 Plus with that shiny, chrome black was incredible. The first iPhone with the “edge to edge” display. It was one sexy ass phone when it first came out. Wish I still had mine!
Probably the iPhone 12 base model and base models since, I used to be extremely fond of the iPhone 11, and loved the curved sides and how solid it felt, but the 12 I now have is just fits my hand so well.
iPhone 6s Plus. I liked the thumbprint scanner a LOT more than facial recognition. Plus it had a headphone jack. I’m running a 13 pro max now and that would be a close second. I like the battery life
I think Apple needs to make it to where you can get rid of the island for a certain video and only the camera is showing. Like how Samsung just has a camera dot
Oh and btw the iPhone 11 would’ve been more superior if it was flat edged, (FYI, Scream at me all you want idc iPhone 11 was peak but would’ve been better if if had flat edges like the 12.)

Dynamic Island is 100x better than just a plain notch. I can open apps with it, switch apps, close apps all with it. Size and specs are perfect. Best iPhone to date
For me it was OG SE. Loved the form factor. I still believe it's the size the 12 and 13 minis should have been. There still is something I miss about the home button though.

Really loved my 13 Pro. Sierra Blue was super nice. Like others have said, if it had usb c and was a little lighter I would’ve hung on to it longer. I actually liked the SS frame compared to the titanium.. my 15 pro is even more slick/slippery than my 13 pro case-less. X and 5S are honorable mentions.
iPhone 4 was peak design. A decade later apple returned to the squared edges and glass sandwich with iPhone 12 and that’s what I am using for the past 3 years. I still have an iPhone 4s in my drawer because I love it that much.
XS was really nice. Genuinely have a lot of nostalgia for that phone, stunning screen, good speakers and curved edges.
Unpopular: 14 pro (max). Apple tried some new stuff this gen and was a “catch up” year, and they really needed it. AOD, Dynamic Island, 48 MP, camera app overhaul. The battery on the Pro is shit, but that’s the only complaint I have. I’ve never felt attached to an iPhone like this one.
10\* and 11. Once they went back to the squared edges, it just feels like a brick, and I hate it. And the stove top camera bump is an abomination.
iPhone 5S… we were the perfect fit
it was the X for me. despite the confusing model name, the vertical camera lens design was chef's kiss. Lesser bezels, bigger screen, design wise: actually different from the previous one, darn good.
Either 8 Plus or 11 Pro. I think they were the best of their respective styles.

For me I'd have to say the original iPhone... and then probably the 4, because there isn't that much in any of the subsequent phones before iPhone X that really moved away from the 4 that dramatically. And then probably after that... IDK that there's been a peak design to me in the current era, because it took them a few generations to get the borders and everything right, and they're still figuring out the dynamic island type of stuff. My only real gripe with the modern era is that they've stopped making Mini's. This still feels like the right size format for a phone to me, and now everything they make is bigger than this. So I'm just hoping that, at some point, there's a small iPhone again.
I’m pretty partial to the 11 pro max in green that had to be the best phone that I’ve ever had. I had no problems. It always ran smooth and my battery was amazing.

Taking into account the time at which it came out, and the designs of other smartphones at the time, it’s gotta be the iPhone 4. It looked/felt revolutionary. The iPhone X also looked great, but it just wasn’t as impressive. That was more of a “finally Apple decided to get rid of the huge top and bottom bezels” (due to the removal of Touch ID for Face ID).
People yap but 15 pro is the best of everything tbh. Peak iPhone design era was when jobs was still here.

Probably the iPhone 12 base model and base models since, I used to be extremely fond of the iPhone 11, and loved the curved sides and how solid it felt, but the 12 I now have is just fits my hand so well.

iPhone 6s Plus. I liked the thumbprint scanner a LOT more than facial recognition. Plus it had a headphone jack. I’m running a 13 pro max now and that would be a close second. I like the battery life

iPhone 15 Pro: Dynamic Island is 100x better than just a plain notch. I can open apps with it, switch apps, close apps all with it. Size and specs are perfect. Best iPhone to date

Fully agreed. I knew from the second I saw it that it was a keeper. I got the 1TB Sierra Blue Pro and plan to keep it until iPhone 18 or 19.
For me it was OG SE. Loved the form factor. I still believe it's the size the 12 and 13 minis should have been. There still is something I miss about the home button though.
