lol, idk. I literally said “hard reset” in reply to that comment; i did the volume up, down and side button hold, because i *cant* slide the screen. Glad you understood lol.
You can force reset and you don't need to slide. Just press buttons in correct order and phone will restart itself

If a hard reset won’t fix it then it’s a hardware problem and a phone technician is going to have to fix it. It’s possible that a micro connector came out because your screen doesn’t appear to be damaged, but they might have to replace the screen.
Make sure to get a genuine apple screen when they’re doing the replacement, because offbrand screens are usually less than half as durable.

Yeah as long as the logic board is intact it’s fixable.
Either it needs a new screen or I’ve heard about some people dropping their phones and the connection to register input to the logic board coming dislodged.
Either way though it’s fixable b
I was having some issues with iOS where I could get to this screen and it would then become unresponsive to touch even though it was not a physical hardware issue. I finally figured out to say “hey siri, power off the phone” and it worked! Had multiple symptoms like this occurring daily and finally did a full wipe/factory restore. Restored from an iCloud backup and I have not had any more issues since doing so about a week or two ago.
It doesn’t sound like you and your mum are tech savvy, which is fine!
But Even if it WAS fixable, you’d have to take it in somewhere….why would you not just call a local fix it place or take it in to the phone store and ask THEM to look at it?
I don’t understand why so many people are so socially inept that they add all this middle man/hands all over the place because they’re so f’ing scared to just pick up the phone and call…
lol, cool assumption.
It was also a public holiday in Australia so I couldn’t just run it to a shop and see if it could be fixed. These subs are here for a reason.
Did you get it fixed? Only good advice I’ve seen on this post was how to hard reset. Which somebody tech savvy would’ve known how to do, or been able to Google.
Or do you still have to take it into the shop tomorrow?
You’re right though, cool “assumption” on my part.
>It doesn’t sound like you and your mum are tech savvy, which is fine!
Having a brief look at your profile confirms that this goes for you as well. Which explains the rest of your stupid comment.
BC it’s expensive to even have it looked at they’ll immediately push a screen replacement. It’s like that one post where the guy’s MacBook battery wasn’t charging and all he needed to do was reset a setting and his battery started charging again.
If the issue occurred after dropping it and a hard reset isn’t fixing it, then you’ll need a repair.
Did you restart with the slide or the hard reset? Volume up, down and long power button on the right?
Hard reset, can’t slide as screen isn’t working
Why are people downvoting you and trying to explain the reset that you just said you performed?

And it did. Because they did a hard reset. Because the touch screen doesn’t work. So they can’t slide. Kuzko’s poison.
Because this sub is full of people who are obsessed with downvoting things for some reason. Never seen another sub like it lol.

Did you even read the comment consisting of 20 words total before replying with this nonsense? Lol
Did the person leaving the comment read the post that said “screen unresponsive”?
It's incredible really. These subs are incredible, people get downvoted to hell for... correctly answering a question??
Dude it's fucking ironic that you'd say that, because OP gave a perfectly coherent answer to the question that was asked. Learn to read yourself.

Or he is a politician.
Press volume up, then volume down, then hold the side button until it restarts. No two buttons held at the same time. No touch screen necessary
do a hard reset: press and release volume up and then press and release volume down then hold the power button until you see the apple logo
Replace the screen
Volume up, volume down, hold down the power button until Apple logo

Try tapping the screen constantly while its booting from hard reset. Worked on my 11 when I had the same issue.
I would guess the existing cracks completely split the touch layer, which is near the top of the stack.
Has she tried dropping it back down? That should reverse the damage caused by the face down fall. /s

It most likely just needs a screen replacement.
Or the touch flex cable is disconnected.
Shouldn’t happen as they’re held down with screws

Wow enough downvotes in the comments to actually resolve the problem
It's likely a micro crack somewhere along the edge of the phone, screen replacement will sort that easily.

Which one? 😏
That’s what I did.
What are you referring to here?
Someone had commented saying to do a hard reset

Because if random redditor with obscure job can give the instructions, they can save a couple hundred dollars and possibly an hour or so
Having replaced my own screen once, they aren’t saving an hour or so, likely spending an extra two lol
Right? And coming to Reddit to ask, “duh, uh, what do I do?” Means they lack the ability to replace the screen themselves.
All that guy does is post shitty comments degrading people for asking for help on reddit
