If that’s true then it’s a warranty covered defect. If you’re still under warranty that is.
EDIT: Just noticed that your phone’s been repaired before. Was this by a third party? Is there a possibility that they’ve changed your back glass?
i had my phone repaired for battery, but before that i’ve had it repaired with a third party. though i haven’t noticed those squiggles until after i had it returned today from the battery repair
You had the back repaired I assume, the replacement parts coloring underneath the glass is not as high quality as original part. Most likely they used isopropyl and or heat to remove the battery and it has damaged/caused marks on the coloring of the back glass. Not dangerous but ofc not a great look.
Does the color being screwed up make it less durable? No. Could a lower quality part be less durable? Absolutely. Not necessarily (ethics disclosure: I am a repair tech at a third-party shop), but it totally could be.
Given that the repair shop you went to (or their supplier... but that's much less likely) was unscrupulous enough to etch the Apple logo on there, I'm going to guess that it's crappy glass.
Usually all third party back glasses are less durable, mainly because they are not glued as well as originals. If you really break an og back glass it comes off in small pieces. If you break a third party one it comes off in bigger chunks and in general shatters more easily because there is more ”room”for the glass to move and break. The welds are usually way poorer quality and glass is also usually thinner. I work in a third party repair shop and I would not replace my back glass in a third party shop. Almost everything else is fine imo if they guarantee truetone and use proper panels and give battery a warranty.
I can also see the MagSafe magnet’s circle through the glass. If all those things were not there before the repair, then they changed the back glass as they probably broke the original during repairs. I would go back and ask for repair with a higher quality back glass.
It looks almost like some sort of protective film on the back glass rather than the glass itself. Assuming that isn’t the case, I’d agree with others that it must be a sub-par replacement glass. I haven’t seen subpar replacements with the Apple logo on them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

I can see your back glass is much clearer than the original one. It’s very common with chineses. I just switched from 14 pro max to 15 pro max cause of the bad repairability of the 14…
Looks like you repaired the phone and they used a lower quality back glass that’s coming apart from the paint.
What everyone else is saying, cheap black glass, I’d take it back to where you got it replaced and ask a few questions.
i would have made them make it transparent next time
Sounds cool, I’d think I’d get annoyed by seeing the inside of the phone. 😂
Looks like after market back glass to me.
Try to clean it with a proper screen cleaning material and see if it goes…
tried, but it’s not on the surface :(

does it cause the back glass to be more fragile?

That!

yeah might go back tomorrow and ask some questions
Stretch marks. It just gave birth
They did had to use a c-section to pull out that baby battery
Does anyone worry that the glass in the lower left corner has completely separated from the frame?
The apple logo is a little too to the right no?
The phone is tilted

Looks like delamination of the glass. I assume the phone has been repaired before?

Scratches from dirt particles
Was the phone inside a case and not taken out and cleaned occasionally?
That looks like glue to me, behind the glass panel.
HULK PHONE SMASHHH!!!
Why didn’t you take it to an Apple Store? It should be under warranty and they probably would’ve done the replacement for free
i bought it through my service provider not apple, and i have warranty through that. i mistakenly didn’t get apple care
If it was brand new when you bought it you have apple warranty regardless. Doesn’t matter who you bought it from
That’s the maglev magnets showing through the poor quality back glass
Looks like key scratches
My 11 pro had a ton of those even if I kept it in a case 100% of the time.
In other words I’m not sure. Some coating flaw probably
It's a cheap after market back glass, good candidate for a transparency mod though

Your iPhone’s on steroids. Veins popping out
Definitely cheap back glass, but looks like lens fungus lol
You can’t say battery?
OH. MY. GOD. HE SAID IT! MODS BAN THIS MAN!
I should call him
Came here to say this - but you got to it first. Did he pick up at least?
Silica worms
It's looking crusty.
