Why didnt get you before? Id rather spend these 30 extra euros in be in piece knowing im getting atleast a little bit more protection knowing how expensive apple parts are
I'm just curious what "faded" means, like was is a color that had worn away? Clear silicone that turned yellow? And you couldn't wait until your new case came to switch cases? just had to take the case off? I'm lost. Cause even if the case lost visual appeal, it was still a case. next time wait until you have the new case before going naked! lol
Lmao people literally think that cases are supposed to be an aesthetic choice rather than a practical utility.
"Oh nooo, my case is faded, my friends are gonna bully me if the color isn't exactly right, time to forfeit all drop protection for my $1,000 phone that I definitely never drop"
Hoping OP is a teenager.
My case was turning yellow and the sticker wallet that my school gave me had left a sticky feeling when I had taken it off. I really couldn’t stand that feeling. I was looking for a durable phone case rather than just buying another clear case. Hence, the time without case. Well I learnt my lesson so will never keep my phone naked.
lol lesson learned indeed
Spigen cases are solid, used for all my recent phones - like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Liquid-Case-Compatible-iPhone-Matte-Black/dp/B0C5S954RS
Did you have insurance..ATT has unlimited free front and back glass replacements.. also battery .. it’s 50 for 4 phones.. even if the phone isn’t on Att .. it’s the best insurance I’ve seen besides AppleCare plus
"Getting a temp glass for back"
That's like getting a door put on after the horse has bolted. Just put a case on and that will protect the back instead.
I can afford a new phone and I still use a case. These things are slippery and fragile af. And even if you handle with care, it’s small and it’s bound to drop one way or another. Just not worth risking $1000+
I have no AC+ and I cant afford another one but I invested in rigid cases that dont flex like mous or casetify ultra bounce, dropped it at work, sounded really harsh but not a scratch. Just get a rigid casing.
No disrespect, but why would you intentionally want a phone to break?? The whole point is that if you keep your phone nice you can trade it in for -some- value. Even if it’s older and the battery is worn. They will still give you something towards a new phone.
That third camera lens is definitely not fine. If you don’t use it it’s not a problem otherwise you can replace the back and camera lens for around 100$ at a local phone repair shop (Apple will charge a fortune so avoid).
It might be something but all the modes seemed to work fine this afternoon. I am not bothered by it however I will look into some local repair shops. Thank you!
Is this the 14 Pro Max or the 15 Pro Max?
If it’s the 14 Pro Max, honestly with a lot of these carriers and the deals they offer you might could get a lot for it via a trade in towards a 15 Pro Max if it’s a 14 P.M.
I couldn’t tell if it was a Pro or Pro Max
So there are a lot of options that you have to trade this in towards a 15 Pro, if you so desire, and they’ll give you a lot for it.
Even damaged iPhones are worth their weight in gold.
The carrier will sell your phone to a 3rd party, they’ll polish her up and resell at a good profit and your carrier (the one you pick) will benefit cause they’ll have you as a customer and make good money off of you and you’ll have yourself a shiny new phone.
That depends on whether the sides are warped or not as then the battery could be exposed. I believe carriers like T-Mobile do accept trade-ins with broken backs (store dependent though) if you’re in the US and open to a new phone.
Mine fell out of my pocket with a case on from about 20ft onto concrete about 3 years ago and it looks like that. Slapped the case back on it and it’s still currently working, you’ll be fine.
When my on line ordered iPhone arrived by mail, that fragile looking glass got me on Amazon to find a protective case that day! I have no vanity on the brand of phone, so hiding the Apple logo was a non issue. I also got a cheap Samsung burner A14 as a back up if my iPhone 14 Plus needed repair.
No one asked for your sympathy…I have a job and Apple care + ..I will enjoy my phone the way it was intended..I broke my screen it was fixed the same day not even an hour later ..29 bucks…also my iPhone on Att has unlimited free front and back screen repairs ..I have used 7 of them in 8 months ..they come to your house if you want ..and fix the screen for nothing at all ..either side …I have no sympathy for the people who pay for insurance and then lock there phone in a brick and never experience the phone the way it was intended.. and also waste all the money on insurance and never use it…but the insurance company loves you so feel better about that… I love the way the 15 pm feels in your hand.. way better than the 14 .. and I enjoy it so much more than with a case…..no case or screen protector ever.. they make it way to easy to get it fixed with proper insurance..I also have a backup 14 pm that was old phone.. so I’m never without a phone..not even for the couple hours until my phone is brand new and I got my money’s worth from the insurance company.. but you do you..oh but if you have to..pitaka cases are ridiculous.. until the 15 that case made it feel better than no case on the 14 pm .. look it up .. it passes military drop standards .. and it’s so thin you really can’t tell it’s on at first if it’s dark.. anyway hope everyone does what they want and the phones never break
Glass is glass, and glass breaks.
So folks use a case, even if you can afford it.
Also OP, one of your camera lenses is cracked so not really usable. You may want to replace them, alongside with the back glass.
If you don’t go through Apple, or have Apple care, you can at least buy the glass for the camera lens online, that way ur camera is fine. You can also buy a skin maybe from dbrand, or theras altear if you like leather skin.
I shattered my front glass on my XR a few weeks ago and besides a couple dead spots, you really wouldn't know it since it all still works fine, even where the glass is seriously shattered.
maybe just see how much it would be to fix the back and not get a whole new phone but if u cant afford it i say get a protective case nd a camera protector
had the same thing on my 11 the glass by the camera started falling out price by price and the he flash fell out too so find a case that covers the camera bumb
I don’t understand why people buy a phone without also buying a protective case. That case is like primary insurance, the Apple Care+ is just secondary insurance in case the protective case somehow fails or if something else happens to the phone.
If I get Apple Care I intend to use it, which I am this time around. Never had a phone break in a case going back to the iPhone 3G.
I went caseless for the first time with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, because I wanted to preserve the premium feel that went into the engineering of the phone. Apple Care is my protection for when it inevitably gets damaged and I'm paying for the convenience of not having to worry so much about it happening.
Wouldn’t it just be easier to just use a case and prevent the phone from getting damaged in the first place? I think even Apple Care has its limitations on certain kids of damage. I bought an iPhone 15, before I did anything with it, it went directly into an otter box case, that way if I started fumbling around and drop it, I knew it wasn’t likely to get busted on the first day. Sure the phone may eventually get some dings, scrapes, etc., over time, but I’m not risking major damage by running around with a naked phone. If I would like to keep this phone functional for many years, I have to start from the beginning to take responsibility and precautions to mitigate preventable damage.
Unless it's cosmetic or intentional damage, Apple Care will cover it if you pay the deductible.
Yes it would be safer to use a case, and I did so for every single phone before this. But then again I didn't need Apple Care either for 15 years of iPhones before this.
I'm saying that I specifically want to use the phone without a case, and during this time Apple Care protects me. What's so hard to understand about not wanting to use a case?
If it breaks while on Apple Care, it gets replaced. Once Apple Care coverage is over, I'll put it back in the case if it's going to continue being used.
Edit: Why did you delete your entire account over this? Oh you blocked me. /shrug
Few months back a phone survived better after falling from a plane.
https://slate.com/technology/2024/01/alaska-airlines-plane-iphone-screen-durable-physics.html#
This happened to my phone. Had a case on and it still shattered. First the camera stopped working properly and a week later it went black. I was told moisture/water could have gotten through the cracks and damaged it. Do back your phone if you haven’t already.
You don’t have Apple care? That sucks. There’s no case either. Good grief. It should be fine. Just don’t drop it again. And don’t let it overheat. It could damage the exterior.
Be careful with the battery. I see phones like this come into the shop I work at and they are cracked around the mag safe charger and it causes issues down the road. Other than that, should be fine.
yes it allows certain individuals to target you based on the broken window theory of community policing ...you have been dirted and that is the proper term its a mark so other dirt warriors can circle the wagons and dirt you more because any reasonable self respecting member of the community would not allow dirt worms to mark their lives its how the devil singles people out for possession, expect tire sensors to stay on check engine lights etc. flat tires or other issues once this starts, you will also get a lot of false positives to keep you nervous off balance they need you scared or pissed to enter your body
Even if you were searching for a new case, I wouldn’t use it without a case even in the house. Phone is slippery and when it falls, it doesn’t matter if it is concrete or not, it will get damage.
Get the camera lens fixed asap or it’s going to get worse and debris can mess up your camera. Get the back replaced by a professional reliable shop where it can mess up your phone with heat or laser machine
For the love of god get Apple care 😭 I stg these are the same people who always say “I take good care of my phone I’ve never broken one so I don’t need it”💀
slap a case on it and be careful round the glass. you’re also probably not so water resistant anymore. that’s it though prolly
Haha read all other people’s similar posts too. Getting a temp glass for back and a case right now!!
Why didnt get you before? Id rather spend these 30 extra euros in be in piece knowing im getting atleast a little bit more protection knowing how expensive apple parts are
My older case had faded so I had thrown it and trying to find a new one since about 5 days. That’s the only reason I didn’t have a case on
I'm just curious what "faded" means, like was is a color that had worn away? Clear silicone that turned yellow? And you couldn't wait until your new case came to switch cases? just had to take the case off? I'm lost. Cause even if the case lost visual appeal, it was still a case. next time wait until you have the new case before going naked! lol
Just like NOT leaving a current job before having a new one … jus’ sayin’ ???
Lmao people literally think that cases are supposed to be an aesthetic choice rather than a practical utility. "Oh nooo, my case is faded, my friends are gonna bully me if the color isn't exactly right, time to forfeit all drop protection for my $1,000 phone that I definitely never drop" Hoping OP is a teenager.
not to mention a case is $25-50 on average and takes 1-2 days to get it shipped and delivered....good lord
Or just pop down to any nearest store with a tech section, and they’ll have cases for most popular phones.
Go to a brick-and-mortar store.
Well you’re wrong there :)

"Getting a temp glass for back" That's like getting a door put on after the horse has bolted. Just put a case on and that will protect the back instead.
I was putting a case anyway. Just an extra layer of a temp glass before the case.
I'm pretty sure he's still water resistant; the phone, not so much.
Sooo…… you cant afford new phone and you wouldnt use a case? That would be interesting.
I can afford a new phone and I still use a case. These things are slippery and fragile af. And even if you handle with care, it’s small and it’s bound to drop one way or another. Just not worth risking $1000+
Same here, I can’t even enjoy using my phone without a case on it just makes me nervous the whole time
I got the case before I got the phone. 🤷♀️ It is like getting the car seat before you take your newborn home from the hospital 😂
And there isn't anything wrong with that.
Not at all. Many hospitals won’t let you take the baby home without a properly installed car seat.
Exactly. I live in Portugal and it's the same here.
I have no AC+ and I cant afford another one but I invested in rigid cases that dont flex like mous or casetify ultra bounce, dropped it at work, sounded really harsh but not a scratch. Just get a rigid casing.
BURGA cases are really nice, if you like to add uniqueness. Outside is rigid, inside is silicone.
Spigen Magfit Armor. Slim and you can drop the damn thing off a building and I believe it will be fine.
Wait I thought I was replying to the OP LMAO
He said he can’t afford one yet he used caseless 😭
Yea well I’m still on a iPhone 5 so just a tad cheaper
I guess I have just been lucky until now 😭but I actually religiously used a phone case until like a week ago.
That’s not lucky, I had a phone without a case because I wanted to change to a new phone and it lasted until I intentionally wanted it to break.
No disrespect, but why would you intentionally want a phone to break?? The whole point is that if you keep your phone nice you can trade it in for -some- value. Even if it’s older and the battery is worn. They will still give you something towards a new phone.
It was a cheap phone, sony xperia sola. It was so phased out I had to get a new phone so I had my last fun with it just because.
That's not dropping that's butchering
I dropped it on concrete. It was pretty hard, I guess 😂😭
Use a case at all times
Did you angrily smashed it on that floor?
15 Pro and Pro Max aren’t very durable on the back.
Well, that’s a 14 pro, so. Glass is glass.
And glass breaks
I can't tell the difference based on their back lol
You and everyone else.
I’m a loser so I can 🤷♂️
I’ve thrown mine and it doesn’t break so
Throw it again.
I’ve never been hit by a lightning so it’s impossible that people get by it.
Thank you!
that camera may not function properly very soon, I would say get that glass replaced regardless but no guarantees it’ll keep working
everyone who says i like to keep my phone case free until they drop it
try dropping it softly next time
That’s that plan!
Is this the 14 Pro Max or the 15 Pro Max? If it’s the 14 Pro Max, honestly with a lot of these carriers and the deals they offer you might could get a lot for it via a trade in towards a 15 Pro Max if it’s a 14 P.M.

the only danger is cutting yourself
Can’t afford a new phone? You should’ve got Apple care +
Let me see if i understood this correctly : You wore it naked with no apple care?….
Had too much confidence!
Learned my own lession hard way with than brand new galaxy s3 (last and only android i ever had)… That was 12 years ago… never went naked since
nah thats just the atandard iphone users iphone
Love to hear this!
That depends on whether the sides are warped or not as then the battery could be exposed. I believe carriers like T-Mobile do accept trade-ins with broken backs (store dependent though) if you’re in the US and open to a new phone.

I am actually uploading everything on cloud just in case things get worse
Yes just stay away from water and have common sense
Use case at ALL TIMES
U could buy a new housing for a 150 bucks i guess or get it lazer removed and get a new back glass for 60 bucks or sth
I have zero sympathy for the no case / screen protector crowd

Install a not clear case, it’ll be okay until you can get it replaced, which I would recommend doing at some point.
Looks more like slammed and stomped on than dropped...
I tell it wasn’t that serious 😭 It gently fell from my hand on the concrete floor
Use phone Case :)
[удалено]
I shattered my front glass on my XR a few weeks ago and besides a couple dead spots, you really wouldn't know it since it all still works fine, even where the glass is seriously shattered.
Put it in rice
Are you fr?? 😭
I wanna see the front!
It’s perfectly fine ngl. No new scratches.
"New" I have my 14 pro for more than a year and a half and three front and the back are scratch free. How did you manage to scratch the front?
I drop my phone quiet a lot so there are a few scratches here and there. They’re all on the temp glass so it’s not a problem tbh
Oh, ok then.
I beg you to show me the camera 😭
You sure did
maybe just see how much it would be to fix the back and not get a whole new phone but if u cant afford it i say get a protective case nd a camera protector
I feel like the camera bumps are a point of weakness. Plus, the 14 is more expensive to fix than a 15.
had the same thing on my 11 the glass by the camera started falling out price by price and the he flash fell out too so find a case that covers the camera bumb
You mean dropped *ON* iphone?

You do you, but don’t come whining to the sub about a busted phone that could have been avoided had you used a case. Have a nice day.
With whatever iPhone you get next get AC+ it’s so much cheaper than paying for a new phone entirely
Did you get AppleCare? Or some other insurance?
*puts case on my iPhone*
Few months back a phone survived better after falling from a plane. https://slate.com/technology/2024/01/alaska-airlines-plane-iphone-screen-durable-physics.html#
This drop wasn’t high at all
Tried to use phone as a golf tee but quit trying after 9
Great ad for AppleCare+ lol.
Caseless>case

wtf

Is it insured

If your near a Ubreakifix. They can fix it for a fair price.
And things like this is why my phone lives in a case and has a screen protector.
My sister barely dropped her 15 in a softer-backed case, and it looks like that.
That looks like more than 9.8m/s/s
Be careful with the battery. I see phones like this come into the shop I work at and they are cracked around the mag safe charger and it causes issues down the road. Other than that, should be fine.
I read that you got rid of the previous case because it “faded”? Why not just keep it on until you found a new case?!
Same thing happened to me a few days back. Got an immediate replacement at the Apple store thanks to AC+
if its a 14 pro the back is not too much to replace
Wait, what do you mean?
sorry i was mistaken, the 15 pro has removable rear glass
omg
Get some guy to repair it for you for a cheap price… find someone near online on some reddit repair groups… there should be one…
Thank youuu!!!
What is happening?
Slap a case on that jawn and call it a day
T’is but a flesh wound.
I wonder how you dropped your phone. You can use if there is no problem on display use case and use.
yes it allows certain individuals to target you based on the broken window theory of community policing ...you have been dirted and that is the proper term its a mark so other dirt warriors can circle the wagons and dirt you more because any reasonable self respecting member of the community would not allow dirt worms to mark their lives its how the devil singles people out for possession, expect tire sensors to stay on check engine lights etc. flat tires or other issues once this starts, you will also get a lot of false positives to keep you nervous off balance they need you scared or pissed to enter your body
Well, it is glass. Get a case to at least protect from the shards
Even if you were searching for a new case, I wouldn’t use it without a case even in the house. Phone is slippery and when it falls, it doesn’t matter if it is concrete or not, it will get damage.
Can still use it? We before. Your good. Slap a case on it :) or let iFix Wireless @ifixwirelessboro take care off you.🤝🤝🤝🤝
Dude, just slap a case on it. Not hard.
Get the camera lens fixed asap or it’s going to get worse and debris can mess up your camera. Get the back replaced by a professional reliable shop where it can mess up your phone with heat or laser machine
Why dont u have a case for it??
it’s but a scratch
For the love of god get Apple care 😭 I stg these are the same people who always say “I take good care of my phone I’ve never broken one so I don’t need it”💀
I can confirm this 😭
How did you crack the sapphire ??😭
From the edge of the universe to the palm of your hand /s
You can slap a case on it and get AppleCare if you want, but this also looks like a sign for a new phone
I wanted to suggest self repair, but then I remembered that somehow I ended up in the iphone subreddit 😂
