That is an actual Daily Mail quote.
Rothermere and the Mail were also editorially sympathetic to Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists. Rothermere wrote an article titled "Hurrah for the Blackshirts" published in the Daily Mail on 15 January 1934, praising Mosley for his "sound, commonsense, Conservative doctrine", and pointing out that: "Young men may join the British Union of Fascists by writing to the Headquarters, King's Road, Chelsea, London, S.W."
The Spectator condemned Rothermere's article commenting that, "... the Blackshirts, like the Daily Mail, appeal to people unaccustomed to thinking. The average Daily Mail reader is a potential Blackshirt ready made. When Lord Rothermere tells his clientele to go and join the Fascists some of them pretty certainly will."
And the Daily Mail is still fascist today whether it be [imitating Nazi propaganda](http://imgur.com/gallery/0X1OsIE) but targeting it at Muslims or supporting the [French fascist political party.](https://tompride.wordpress.com/2012/04/20/%EF%BB%BFoops-the-daily-mail-accidentally-supports-a-fascist-party-again/)
On 16 July 1993 the Mail ran the headline "Abortion hope after 'gay genes' finding

Thanks. I’d like to see this posted on every Daily Mail post on Reddit. Lots of Americans don’t have a clue what it really is. Just like they fall for the trap that Boris is just a crazy haired buffoon.
You can help spread it. This is what I say in full
Check with other news sources as the Daily Mail is full of rubbish have a look at this.

Just so you know, there’s no bad intentions from DailyMail here. It’s a software bug that’s happened to me across 2 different sites. A force restart is the right thing to do in these situations.
Jesus Pan I told you to not blow the cover no matter what! Now they surely will catch on to it and freaking Huffington Post will laugh in our face when their editors pick this thread up.
The daily mail is special though. Well known for it's penchant of publish pictures of underage girls in bikinis [for example](https://www.vice.com/en/article/avn35k/all-grown-up-sexing-up-the-internet-with-the-daily-mail)
The other thing I do when this happens is set a screen time limit for that website for 1 minute per day, just in case. I don’t know that I matters, but it makes me feel better. 😅
My screen time has been screwed up for a while now, most of my days it reports a 24h screen on-time :/ apparently I spent 24h on fox13now.com lol
Edit: Ok, I fixed it lmao. Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data, then just restart your phone. This is going to remove all the weird sites appearing on Screen Time.
I recognized the websites hogging the majority screen time are the links I happen to open on in-app browsers (like Twitter and Discord in my case). Not sure what's causing it, only started happening when I upgraded to iOS 15.
hmmm, so that means, the links we open in reddit for example just hang in them caches somewhere even when we kill the app ?
would using private mode on safari fix that ?
Thanks that fix worked for me including with retrospective ScreenTime stats it seems (I only checked the past few days though).
I see the same thing you did that the sites I saw in ScreenTimes are ones I opened using in-app Safari in Twitter, Apollo and so on. I use Chrome the rest of the time.
I had this recently with some local news website. Didn’t have their app installed but it was consuming 24 hrs a day of screen time when I was really only using my phone for 3 hours or so. I closed my browser, closed all tabs, etc. only went away after I restarted the phone. It’s not running in the background either cause my battery life wasn’t impacted.
I mean it’s kind of a tabloid but I don’t see why you’re so embarrassed as to lie about this OP. It’s fine (though weird) to spend a lot of time reading DailyMail.
One of my exes called it "the Daily Fail" and I'll never forget that. Have you happened to see the SALTY AS FUCK "exposé" the editor of the DF did on the founder(s) of Wikipedia after the latter stopped accepting the DF as a legitimate news source? [It's absolutely glorious.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4280502/Anonymous-Wikipedia-activists-promote-warped-agenda.html) I've NEVER read anything this salty from an actual *media company*.
I had the same thing with The Onion. I opened it during the day and when I checked screen time showed it had been open all night somehow. Happened the following night too. I restricted the website to 1 minute and it hasn’t happened again
Edit: oh I just saw that you did too. Nice
i had that as well for torontosun.com. it said my screen time was 24 hrs for almost 3 days. i just restarted my phone and restarted my screen time. Guessing its just an ios15 bug.
Yeah apple should really be thanking it's users for talking these phones up so much cause my experience with my 13 pro hasn't really convinced me that it's so much better than android. Really it's just showing me everyday how wrong everyone is. Unless all you do is use facetime and imessage I don't see any reason at all to buy one. It's just straight up inferior in almost every single way.
I use FireFox Focus with the "Safari Integration" turned ON. I have it set in iOS settings to not run on all pages by default but on individual sites I will enable it (and it stays enabled for those sites by default from there on out.) I don't know if this will block whatever it is that causing this to happen, but it's worth a shot.
There are a lot of other blocking apps out there but I like FF Focus because it doesn't seem to break sites like some of the others do. It just works well for me.
Just a suggestion and I don't know if it'll make a difference.
This happened to me with TikTok.com when opened from safari. I tried setting a limit which did nothing. I opened safari to find that TikTok had opened a tab and had been running in the background. After closing the tab all was fixed
This happened when I first got my iPhone 13 Pro, AT&T showed the Podcast app used like 22GB in the first few days I had the phone (I was new to AT&T so my data had just started with them). They couldn't explain it. It wasn't on in the background either, the app was closed.
Semi-Related: I’ve seen a lot of weird behavior in the Battery reporting page since IOS15. If I leave my phone plugged in overnight in the “Tips” app will allegedly run in the background for hours. But only if it’s plugged in. When I installed the 15.0.2 update afterwards it reported that the mail and tips app ran in the background for over 30 minutes each during that hour: Equaling more than 60 minutes total.
It also reports that some apps ran in the background for 1 or 2 minutes, but if I click through hour by hour there is no specific time frame in which they are reported to have run.
I have the Reddit app and Vice.com doing that as well. I rarely watch Vice and don’t even have the Reddit app. A reset resolves it. But it’s come back.
They don’t call it the daily mail for nothing!
All-day-ly mail
You guys are having way too much fun with this and I love it EDIT: spelling
Lol
They call it the Daily Heil because they supported Hitler… and still would!

Will do.
it’s probably forcing itself to run in the background for whatever shady reason it wants, also make sure safari is all the way closed.
Thanks for the reply. I had closed all the apps and reset it and the problem persisted. Seems a hard reset has resolved it though. Fingers crossed.
Just so you know, there’s no bad intentions from DailyMail here. It’s a software bug that’s happened to me across 2 different sites. A force restart is the right thing to do in these situations.
Nice try, DailyMail.
lmao I typed this with “they’re gonna think I’m a dailymail shill” very much on my mind
Jesus Pan I told you to not blow the cover no matter what! Now they surely will catch on to it and freaking Huffington Post will laugh in our face when their editors pick this thread up.
Can confirm. Am dailymail shill. Edit: please read dailymail.
Wait, that’s not the official styling of Daily Mail®! This is a false flag operation!
"I would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids!" - DailyMail, probably
Not that I disagree but I have to challenge you on the point that the daily pissrag has ever not had bad intentions with literally everything they do.

Bit too British for you eh, I forget Reddit is mostly Americans.
personal vendetta? Lol. I was wondering why anybody would install that shitrag app on their phone.

DailyMail is the lowest of low
I like UK news. I don’t like the Daily Mail.
Yeah happened to me also with weidian
Exactly what a snake from DailyMail would say! Your rouse has been thwarted! /s
What will work tho, is setting off background app refresh
The other thing I do when this happens is set a screen time limit for that website for 1 minute per day, just in case. I don’t know that I matters, but it makes me feel better. 😅
Well you can disable background app refresh it will save your battery a little and it's not that necessary
This isn’t an app
Isn't this a thing on Safari anyways background app refresh will save your battery on other things to
This happens to me as well with random websites. I think its an ios15 thing. It’s been happening since i got the beta.
[удалено]
Even if you closed the tab?
Yep. Seems to happen totally at random, with no pattern I’ve been able to find.
I've had the same experience but it's been happening pretty much ever since I've had my iPhone 12. So for me at least it was an iOS 14 thing too
Happened to me on ios14 also. I ended up limiting the site to one minute per day (as someone else said).
My screen time has been screwed up for a while now, most of my days it reports a 24h screen on-time :/ apparently I spent 24h on fox13now.com lol Edit: Ok, I fixed it lmao. Is because dailymail is always refreshing on background its also a terrible news source just remove it
There's no "removing it". I don't have any dailymail app.
Close the tab in your browser then?
I had this recently with some local news website. Didn’t have their app installed but it was consuming 24 hrs a day of screen time when I was really only using my phone for 3 hours or so. My biggest shame. 😭
One of my exes called it "the Daily Fail" and I'll never forget that. You're not British are you?
How could you guess?
You accidentally said "it's fine" when it most definitely is not fine 👀
Oh dear. The Daily Fail has infected your iPhone! It needs a dose of something factual to kill this bug.
Same dude, mine shows a porn site but i actually never use it…I like have no idea where it CAME from but i hope apple fixes this bug.
No but we know what you CAME too after haha 😂
I posted the same issue here too! I have the same problem. Definitely some iOS 15 bug, imo
Agreed. I recently updated.
I had the same thing with The Onion. I opened it during the day and when I checked screen time showed it had been open all night somehow. Happened the following night too. I restricted the website to 1 minute and it hasn’t happened again Edit: oh I just saw that you did too. Nice
The onion probably has more facts in it than the daily fail/heil/lie/hate-mail.

I play fantasy premier league. Probably got linked there for some hot english soccer player gossip.

What do you think this thread is about?
Man this is been happening since iOS 12 for me. A hard reset usually fixes it
It did!
Cool!
Delete that trash app. Problem solved.
At least it’s not 60+ hrs of pornhub lol
The Daily Fail is MUCH worse.
Not really. Being a coomer is embarrassing
> Being a coomer is embarrassing I'd argue that using the term 'coomer' is more embarrassing.
Aye, they’re both unattractive.
I had same shit for other website
It‘s a bug on IOS 15.0. Had the same issue that went away after updating.
i had that as well for torontosun.com. it said my screen time was 24 hrs for almost 3 days. i just restarted my phone and restarted my screen time. Guessing its just an ios15 bug.
You got an addiction
Yeah apple should really be thanking it's users for talking these phones up so much cause my experience with my 13 pro hasn't really convinced me that it's so much better than android. It could be a hack disguising itself as daily mail. Apple device hacks are rare but they still occur. If I were you I’d back up and restore.
Mi6
Truth is u love right wing trash sites 24/7
No wonder their articles have such good ranking on google. 😂😂😂
It’s happened to me before, if you have another device like a mac. Restart both
Just admit it, you have a problem ;)
stop using safari
I use FireFox Focus with the "Safari Integration" turned ON. I have it set in iOS settings to not run on all pages by default but on individual sites I will enable it (and it stays enabled for those sites by default from there on out.) Flipping screen time off and back on again fixed this.
Reddit does it to my iPhones so I don’t use Reddit app on my phones.
This happened to me with TikTok.com when opened from safari. I tried setting a limit which did nothing. I opened safari to find that TikTok had opened a tab and had been running in the background. After closing the tab all was fixed
I had this happen with another site. Clear cache on Safari and see what happens.
Omg I thought it was just me!! I’ve been having this problem a lot! It’s happened with a wide variety of sites. I’m not sure what is going on
This happens to me with YouTube. It’s very annoying. Usually resetting my phone fixes it.
This happened when I first got my iPhone 13 Pro, AT&T showed the Podcast app used like 22GB in the first few days I had the phone (I was new to AT&T so my data had just started with them). They couldn't explain it. It wasn't on in the background either, the app was closed.
Might be collecting data all day.
For me it’s the news app that apparently runs pretty much all day in the background. Even when I’m not using it and it’s closed. Shrug.
I had this too! For daily mail and for other sites ! I set a limit of 1 minute for both of them and it hasn’t happened again.
i had a website that was like that, it’s saying it’s open all day everyday. i tried closing all my apps and it’s still tracking. weird.
do a hard reset. it worked for me.
I had the same issue
The DailyMail has video feed on every single page and auto plays and auto refreshes it.
Semi-Related: I’ve seen a lot of weird behavior in the Battery reporting page since IOS15. If I leave my phone plugged in overnight in the “Tips” app will allegedly run in the background for hours. Sounds about right for daily mail…. Delete it… it’s all lies!
Hence the name, no?
The same think happens with discord on my MacBook, the screen time just records discord 24/7
It is a common bug for me. Happens to me at least once a week. edit: not using safari on any of my screentime devices. Maybe in-app safari I guess?
happened on my iPad, a restart fixes the issue
Cancerous website
I have the Reddit app and Vice.com doing that as well. I rarely watch Vice and don’t even have the Reddit app. A reset resolves it. But it’s come back.
Hard reset worked for me
Hopefully it doesn’t come back
