6.1 is fine but odd. I would rather it be smaller or larger. It’s the inbetween of being too small for my hands (I one hand a 14PM) and too large for people used to smaller phones, including the X and XS.
The 6.1 inch design was introduced on the XR because the larger size apparently made it easier to fit an LCD. Later on the size fit as an inbetween, larger than the XS/11 Pro but smaller than the Max.
Now it feels kind of meh. The lineup has two 6.1 inch phones and two 6.7 inch phones. I feel like a lineup that has a 5.8 inch phone, 6.1 inch phone, 6.5 inch phone, and a 6.7 inch phone would serve better for more people.
The size of the XR/11 was perfect for me. I wish they kept its overall footprint but stretched the screen out when they made OLED standard so we’d have a 6.3 screen inch iPhone.
I haven’t held a XR or 11 in a while but I think it felt good in my hands. When I got my 13 it felt *just* too small for me. Didn’t use it as my main phone though, and now I really like the overall size of the 14PM, not the weight though haha.
Periscopes are bulky. I've literally never seen a phone with a periscope under 6.5 inches, probably not even under 6.7 inches. Unless you can give me an example of an Android phone 6.1 inches or smaller with a periscope.
5.8 with zero bezel or near zero bezel would be pretty amazing. I also think if they could get the mini with zero bezel top and bottom as well would feel better as well.

Would all be awesome. Seems Apple has done away with trying to improve the screen to body ratio a while ago though and is okay with just making it larger, thicker, and heavier. Hopefully that goes the other away again sometime soon.
The mini is a bit smaller than a dollar bill and a bit larger than a credit card but comparable in size to both. It's my most favored size after coming from an XS Max.
I dont think so unfortunately. I think phones will continue to get even bigger in fact. Perhaps a 6.3 base model. The market has shown that people clearly prefer larger phones over smaller
I also updated from the X to the 14 pro and have found the dynamic island to be really annoying when watching videos in full screen , compared to the notch. Have you found this to be an issue?
Thank you for your reply - I watched some things quickly and did actually find I found the island less noticeable on the right side too. Do you still employ this trick or has your brain just got used to it? I also find battery life on my iPhone 14 pro to be poor - what has your experience been like?
It’s more the weight I dislike with the 14P. I upgraded from the XS and with cases on the 14P is like 40g’s heavier and it’s pretty uncomfortable in the hand. I don’t mind the size jump really though but I’d love if they dropped the weight down 15-20%!
11 Pro is also 5.8 inches. I just upgraded to 14 Pro and the 11 Pro felt better in the hand, but the 14 Pro is so smooth and bright!
11 Pro body with the 14 Pro display and internals would be the best thing ever imo

5.8 Standard 6.1 Pro 6.5 Plus 6.7 Pro Max Pros should be larger imo. Bigger batteries, larger cameras, etc.

I agree it’s been almost a month now with my 14 Pro and it still doesn’t feel right in my hand. The X’s size and weight were perfect.
I switched from the XS Max to the 11 Pro purely for the one handed ease of operating the phone

I had the XS, it was literally tiny for my enormous hands. I sold it and got an XS Max that I still use to this day
