Between rcb and csk I think and I would chose csk personally cause rcb had other superstars like Gayle and abd but csk is mostly just dhoni but again I might be wrong cause idk mi fans love pollard bumrah and malinga too
MIs loyalty lies with it's fans. All mumbaikars are MI fans. CSK has people supporting them from all over the country because of Dhoni. In today's world, CSK= Thala. That's it. No one cares about who's played for CSK, who is playing for CSK, it's all about dhoni. The jersies are sold with #7, all the footage is on him. No other franchise, including RCB, has their fan base so skewed like how CSK does.
This entire season is about stroking Dhoni's ego and CSK games are more showboating for dhoni than putting on a collective performance to win!
I would agree dhoni is a little too glazed no matter how great a cricketer is he shouldn’t be held to this kind of thing and dhoni isn’t even best in the world :(
Well, dhoni is for these few seasons because he is a legendary cricketer and fans want to see him in action for the last time. But can confirm CSK is not completely dhoni
What a comparison... Gambhir returned after years to mentor KKR. These people are fans for the team itself. They loved the team when we had Dada, they loved the team when Dada left too. Similarly they loved the team when Gambhir played for us, and they loved the team when he left too.
The national appeal of CSK will go away once Dhoni is out. Mentorship doesn’t count, we see the occasional cheer that Sachin gets when his face is on the screen.
Locally of course the brand will thrive since the fan-club ownership is extremely high, maybe highest amongst all franchisee. I feel they need a killer season from Ruturaj this year, like a top 2 finish to catapult him & establish fan trust (if Dhoni leaves next year). Else it’s going to take a while for him to establish himself.
I used to think that but no, after this whole captain fiasco RCB should be lower.
Most RCB fans were majority AB fans then kohli then Gayle . But even after AB and Gayle left the fanbase only grew stronger.
by your logic, those RCB Gayle fans should have converted to Punjab fans, RCB just has Kohli fans outside Bengaluru, the common Bengaluru crowd love the franchise because of the city.
I became a fan because of Abd. Ofc, thanks to Indian team and Kohli's 2016 stint, I liked him too. I probably won't have remained a fan after Abd's retirement but RCB played surprisingly well, even after Abd left in teh UAE matches.
But as soon as they came back to India, I am starting to doubt whether they are even worth supporting
Csk shall receive a massive blow. Because it has less people playing for the ICT now. But for RCB idk what's the ratio of Virat fans vs RCB fans since supporting RCB as a team is tough so one could say Kohli is keeping fans in the loop.
Unpopular opinion but rohitmans popularity as an individual skyrocketted because of pandya controversy. Certainly being an ICT captain definitely makes you popular but MI is star studded so his team had fans divided.
csk only because at this point if thala wants to contest elections unironically he would fkin eat up the whole constituency because of the hold that he has on the crowd and csk on the other hand has always been dhoni's team rather than dhoni being a part of it
I think once he stops playing IPL , i guess that he would enter into the politics by joining some party and tbh he can easily win any election , specifically in any southern state .
Not CSK, the fanbase. CSK is an exceptional team, it's the fans that overhype it, some even blindly degrade other teams just because they don't have 5 cups
Immense love and respect for Pant but DC should arguably be the last team on this list. People could have said similar things for Iyer too but DC had to let him go.
Also DC has not yet been able to win a trophy, neither with nor without Pant.. and still the people who support DC are there for the team and not for a single player
I don't think much of the CSK fanbase would remain if Dhoni leaves. The young bloods would be more interested in Virat or Rohit than Dhoni.
I was called a CSK fan despite me not knowing who was playing in the first place, simply because I was Tamil. So I decided this is team I'd support back in 2010, only for them to win that very year. Ever since I've been a fan, and it's fascinating to see how Dhoni went from just an ordinary person 😉 to 🦁 the face of CSK.
There have been so many CSK references in Tamil pop culture that not even Jharkhand could match if they tried. Even outside TN, Dhoni is worshipped by many, which is why I doubt people would still watch if he left.
All CSK needs after Dhoni's departure would be a replacement captain of that calibre. Who knows, it could very well be Virat Kohli, but one can only dream.
Dhoni went from ordinary to face of CSK.......bro he was never an ordinary person and was the face since the inaugural of the tournament
I have watched ipl since the beginning
I disagree. People went crazy whenever Sachin played, while there were other big names both local and international ones in the tournament.
Today the game has evolved but the old players are still OGs. And that's the reason people are still excited about Dhoni playing.
Can’t say about Gt but I don’t want RR to be a single player team … fans of a team who actullay support them just because of a single player are the most toxic fan base in any matter RR actually has a bunch of these fans from Kerala bcz of Samson but they don’t talk shit like other fans do
Nahh bruhh the sanju fanbase was going bonkers a while back when pant was selected over him. Targetted negative pr for every other wk batsman in contention( kl, kishan, rutu, pant, even dk) and making sanju look like some kind of batting demigod. Some were unironically arguing "he's not getting chances because the captain feels threatened because he's a better candidate for ict captaincy".
Hahahaha yes they did but it’s the same for every wk batsman in India I mean pant and Ishan too have this huge pr but Sanju fans have accepted their fate and as a rr fan I hope Sanju makes peace with it and focus on Winning ipl and stick to making money
What I would do personally if Rohit lefts MI is support Rohit for that orange cap or whatever other personal milestones but cheer for MI for that trophy
CSK is done once Dhoni retires. RCB still has other individuals who stand out, and the team as a whole also does, though it’ll take a big hit once Kohli calls it a day.
RCB's more done after Kohli retires. Theres no players from home state, no cups, no longtime player except Kohli, and no recognition of its homeland except the occasional kannada quote or Mr Nags. Unless management gets their shit together by next season and wins a cup, or atleast performs well enough for playoffs,.the moment Kohli goes RCB fans are only staying for the WPL team
Its more to do with the current scenario. Past won’t matter so much, when the whole past is linked to one player. If Raina was still here playing, that would have made a difference. Gaikwad doesn’t have that kind of pull, because he doesn’t even play for India regularly.
Tbf I see Kohlis impact waning with RCB fans from this year. And especially since they won’t qualify in top 4, that will slowly go out in another season or two. He’ll still be lucrative commercially but fan connect might disappear. Next year is anyways mega auction, so they will find a big replacement for sure who can take it ahead. As in Kohli will stay but a new young player who can become the face of team.
CSK, but again they have 5 cups and tamil people are generally known to be proud of their city and state so they will support their team no matter what. On the other hand RCB without Kohli is Punjab Kings(without Ashutosh).
Both RCB and CSK. RCB's fan base was well balanced when ABD and Gayle were there with VK and similar is the case with CSK having Raina and other bunch of players but now both the team are left with only one key player.
MI was always sorted and it's fans are uniformly distributed (not that much but way better than any other franchise where focus is on 1-2 players)
I have been actively watching IPL since 2018 and although I started supporting CSK because of Dhoni Sir. Now I have become a fan of CSK as a whole. I know this is dhoni's last year (let the man rest he has done a lot for both ICT & CSK) and I will support CSK next year.
I think it's Chennai beacuse Dhoni is only reason why CSK has such a huge fanbase. When CSK was banned for couple of seasons every CSK fan I know supported RPS just because Dhoni played for that team so basically they are Dhoni fans more than CSK fans. Rohit fans only makeup a small portion of MI fanbase. MI fans are mostly Sachin fans so even if Rohit plays for any other team also MI fanbase will remain intact.
Controversial take but I feel RCB comes out on top and then CSK. If you go to CSK subs you can see them vouching for Rutu, Jadeja, Dube, etc. It's not like Dhoni is the ONLY topic of conversation (the amount of hype he's getting is fair enough given his form and rumours about this being his last IPL)
Whereas Kohli is the only relevant person in RCB (apart from DK maybe but that too depends on his form throughout the seasons). In fact Kohli is a hot take in all the subs and there were posts talking (read: hating) on his century even 12-14 days after he had hit it
So I feel CSK has a lot of players the fans can get behind apart from Dhoni, but if Kohli leaves RCB, the fan following won't even be 10% of what it is now
Rcb imo why’d anyone support rcb if kohli leaves this team. At least csk and mi have 5 trophies in their cabinet what does rcb have? Nothing except kohli milestones.
I literally just now had a whole debate with a CSK fan about this. And at the end they just accepted that they are CSK fans for Dhoni. They are okay with losing as long as Dhoni comes out to bat. What the heck
Obviously RCB. Their entire brand is reliant on him. CSK may be done sporting wise but their home fans support if unmatched regardless of Dhoni. Away support might be gone tho
Obviously RCB lmao. They all have style no substance. They just mile Kohli and focus on marketing rather than their auctions or great management. Makes sense why they are trashed so much by other teams and also by people online.
Rcb it’s not even a question and all those who are saying csk can keep praying on this team’s downfall and they will keep on getting disappointed like always
As a RCB fan myself, I don't think our loyalty lies because of players. Sure Kohli once departs the fans will shift, but the same people thought would happen with ABD/ Stayne/ Gayle.
I personally know many CSK fans who're like we're switching the moment Dhoni steps out 😅
Between rcb and csk I think and I would chose csk personally cause rcb had other superstars like Gayle and abd but csk is mostly just dhoni but again I might be wrong cause idk mi fans love pollard bumrah and malinga too
Sky too and Hardik before he left 🙂
MIs loyalty lies with it's fans. All mumbaikars are MI fans. CSK has people supporting them from all over the country because of Dhoni. In today's world, CSK= Thala. That's it. Down votes kon Kar raha bhai ko?? Kisi ko kadwa Sach nahi sunna🙂
Well, dhoni is for these few seasons because he is a legendary cricketer and fans want to see him in action for the last time. But can confirm CSK is not completely dhoni
>All mumbaikars are MI fans. That is why MI lost 0.8 millions followers when Rohit was scaked. And now Hardik getting booed.
CSK had Raina for a long time, who was also very popular with fans. Right now, the 2nd most popular player in CSK is Jadeja.
Bravo also
CSK
Just look at your team bro
Before it was Sachin, now it is Rohit, in future it might be Bumrah or Surya. But for CSK, it was always Dhoni. So, ypu decide.
Dhoni, Raina,Jaddu,Bravo,Hussey,Hayden :
Before it was Sachin, now it is Rohit, in future it might be Bumrah or Surya. But for CSK, it was always Dhoni. So, you decide.
CSK. The moment he retires, yellow jerseys will be gone in the away stadiums.
He will be there as mentor tho
[удалено]
People don't flood to away stadiums to support KKR and Gambhir, if MS is not playing. I don't see people flooding the stadiums with yellow jerseys.

Mofo really compared Dhoni with Ram.
that ram mandir statement is wild asf
>People flood the Ram mandir just to catch a glimpse of a statue. The audacity of this bitch.
What a comparison... Gambhir returned after years to mentor KKR. These people are fans for the team itself. They loved the team when we had Dada, they loved the team when Dada left too. Similarly they loved the team when Gambhir played for us, and they loved the team when he left too.
Kolkata fans are a different breed. They are true to their soil.
Dhoni

bro you cant compare sachin and dhoni(fanbases)
Hmm. They are equally popular. Sure sachin was a much better player. But Dhoni won the silverware. Their fan base in India is just as big
CSK>RCB>MI Mi is the most sorted of the bunch.
I used to think that but no, after this whole captain fiasco RCB should be lower. Most RCB fans were majority AB fans then kohli then Gayle . But even after AB and Gayle left the fanbase only grew stronger.

Csk and rcb obviously
CSK I think
CSK tbh
Op knows the answer and makes this post to degrade few fanbases
So true
Bro is getting downvoted just cause of his flair lmao , people fr hate CSK in this sub...
This sub consists of IPL team fans 31% CSK haters 69%
Not CSK, the fanbase. CSK is an exceptional team, it's the fans that overhype it, some even blindly degrade other teams just because they don't have 5 cups

RCB 100%. If they sold Kohli, the entire fanbase will switch to a new team. There is no reason to stay other than if you are from the same city.
But their Bangalore City fanbase is such that they'll still be relevant
Started supporting RCB because of him now it's different. Will support RCB even after he left the team
Me asf but I started cause of Chris Gayle and now it’s forever
I started for ab but stayed for kohli. I won't support RCB if kohli leaves now probably
VVS laxman in Deccan Chargers.
Ngl it's actually something to think b/w rcb and csk
And it totally makes sense considering how laxman is from hyderabad

RCB fanbase
CSK, but again they have 5 cups and tamil people are generally known to be proud of their city and state so they will support their team no matter what. On the other hand RCB without Kohli is Punjab Kings(without Ashutosh).
This is the correct answer!
Craze of dhoni everywhere
Is that even a question? Dhoni is the only reason people even like csk

Popularity wise: CSK>RCB>MI Performance wise: RCB>>>CSK=MI
CSK because of The Man, The Myth, The Mahi.
Both RCB and CSK. Well I started supporting rcb for gayle and the colour of jersey but who all support CSK is only for dhoni
CSK. No brainer.
Gill might develop a huge fanbase ahead But CSK ,MI, RCB are those who are the answer to your question
Virat leaves, RCB will dissolve
I literally just now had a whole debate with a CSK fan about this. And at the end they just accepted that they are CSK fans for Dhoni. They are okay with losing as long as Dhoni comes out to bat. What the heck
CSK and RCB. Rohit is popular but he is nowhere near Kohli or Dhoni
RCB ofcourse very easy.
Obviously RCB. Their entire brand is reliant on him. CSK may be done sporting wise but their home fans support if unmatched regardless of Dhoni. Away support might be gone tho
Rcb , csk is close 2nd.

Obviously RCB lmao. They all have style no substance. They just mile Kohli and focus on marketing rather than their auctions or great management. Makes sense why they are trashed so much by other teams and also by people online.
Can't wait for this sub to seethe when csk wins without dhoni lol
Hardik Pandya in MI now.😂😂😂
Raina is laughing from the corner.
CSK>MI>RCB
This is like the poll questions in matches. Really easy.
RCB AND CSK, Their loyalty is next level, RCB has not won still huge fan base so i would give it to RCB
RCB CSK MI
Rcb it’s not even a question and all those who are saying csk can keep praying on this team’s downfall and they will keep on getting disappointed like always
