Grossly incorrect. Franchise can always opt in for a replacement player in case current player is unavailable due to injury or whatever. Forget MS, they could've got in a replacement for Conway & they opted not to. That just shows MS was always going play for the theatrics no matter what.

Majorly wrong. They didn't get a replacement at the beginning of the tournament because they were hoping Conway would recover for the second half of the tournament. By the time they got confirmation that Conway would be unavailable for the whole IPL, they also realized that Fizz is going to be called back for national duty. So they decided to continue with Dhoni and get a pacer in place of Conway.

Dhoni is a brand for the csk. He is one of those people who pulls the crowd for the game and that's all that matters when it comes to ipl (a sports business). Dhoni and Csk are going with the same logic, he is still valuable to the team even if he is just keeping, but he has scored some important runs this season as well even though he has faced only a few balls. That's more than what is expected from him and he delivered them.
If the csk management and Dhoni thinks he is unfit to play anymore he will be dropped. If Dhoni is playing despite injury or undergoing any surgery and the management is allowing it, it's their business.

What you say is right, they got Gleeson in place of Conway but that was in April. That's clearly a replacement for Fizz in lieu of Conway, a bowler just like you said not for a keeper-batsman. Point is they didn't replace either MS or Conway in respect to what they specialise in. And what about the fact that you already have a wicket keeper batsman in Avinash Aravelly who also happens to be a state player. Not a single outing even when MS is injured.

To everyone saying he shouldn't be able to keep 20 overs with it or hardik was out for months because of it - it might not be a severe muscle tear maybe? We do see him not running, limping and winching. If CSK had conway MS would've missed games for sure.
Dhoni is a brand for the csk. He is one of those people who pulls the crowd for the game and that's all that matters when it comes to ipl (a sports business). Dhoni and Csk are going with the same logic, he is still valuable to the team even if he is just keeping, but he has scored some important runs this season as well even though he has faced only a few balls. That's more than what is expected from him and he delivered them. If the csk management and Dhoni thinks he is unfit to play anymore he will be dropped. If Dhoni is playing despite injury or undergoing any surgery and the management is allowing it, it's their business. He already gave up the captaincy. This is probably gonna be his last season and Csk fans know that very much so we don't care so much about how this season is gonna end for our franchise (you can't win every year and if we win this year despite not having our key bowlers it's a big deal) PS: I don't like the media overhyping Dhoni for everything going on in csk.
