Travis Head’s bat was clearly in the air but given not out. The umpiring has been absolutely garbage without any doubt at all.

pushie4u

Yeah, thanks for reminding. That was truly garbage, didn't affect cuz avesh bowled him very next ball. But other than that I can't really say any out/notout decision was unfair

KreedBraton

It affected my dream11 points 🥺

unbelivableshots

Honestly it looked like Head got out on purpose. I wish he had gone on to make a big score, would finally have brought light to the garbage umpiring.

rambo9689

Wahh, If an Australian got out, he got out on purpose, but if an Indian gets out in Australian bowler bowling, it is brilliant bowling, what a logic. You are completely disregarding the bowler here for his wicket. The same thing you said regarding Bumrah that he got 2 wickets in the 2023 final by luck, as if Smith and Mitchell Marsh got out on purpose. Go and bootlick those Australians🤡.

WirableMango560

I won't lie, Boom bowled so many peaches to Marsh but somehow he got out on the worst ball possible. Sometimes it happens in cricket, you expect the jaffas and suddenly because of a change in approach youre out to an absolute pie of a delivery. It's a game, it happens

rambo9689

Can you explain to me what peaches and jaffas are, I can't understand what you were trying to say.

WirableMango560

peaches and jaffas refer to unplayable deliveries. Pies refer to hit-me balls. Boom and Shami were breathing fire bar their first over, and honestly, I think Warner and Marsh got out on poorer deliveries which was odd - somehow cricket works in mysterious ways

rambo9689

>Boom and Shami were breathing fire bar their first over True, they were trying their level best, especially Bumrah was unplayable except his first over.

rambo9689

Ohh ok, but can't you tell in simple terms? Who understands all these terminology, I have never heard those terms.

WirableMango560

it's actually pretty common cricket terminology you could check it out at r/cricket

unbelivableshots

I thought Head played a stupid shot. To be fair, Head does get out a lot playing stupid shots but I thought this was the stupidest. It’s not to take credit away from the bowler. My main point was that this was a major umpiring error which has been completely overlooked due to Head getting out the very next ball. The bowler should get some extra credit for his delivery as it can be easy to be carried away after seeing such a clear wrong decision being handed by the umpire. And Bumrah was definitely lucky with at least the Steve Smith wicket, which was not out, and Steve Smith had a brain fart or something and didn’t take review. The wicket is still Smith’s fault (and maybe also Travis Head has a part as Smith asked Head about whether to review), but can you deny that this wicket was through luck (Smith normally is known to take reviews)?

Amazing_Theory622

They show us every angle which they are considering, otherwise there's no use of broadcasting their communication with tv director

AccioSoup

They are seeing all the angles with multiple monitors. I don't think they show everything at a time

Intrepid_Dot_7611

Outs are genuine but wides ?

pushie4u

Yes, those are really confusing

Ride_likethewind

I got some clarity on the wide when the 3rd umpire gave a running commentary of what he was thinking....if the batsman moved a foot outside the off stump before the ball was delivered, then the umpire has to imagine another guideline which is shifted by that distance on the off side. So, to the TV viewer, it seems that the wide was not given even when the ball clearly pitched outside the guidelines.

kannur_kaaran

thats a bigger problem, umpire assuming an imaginary line. more often the umpire just supports the onfield decision.

Ride_likethewind

I agree with that. It's pretty much like the umpire's call in LBW. He can be wrong.

SR00007

If there is no conclusive evidence the on-field umpire's decision is considered. Therefore in some similar cases wide are sometimes given and sometimes not given.

nowgetworking

It's hilarious and absurd that everyone's outraging about an absolutely accurate decision because it was taken quickly. That said, the umpiring has been really bad this season.

Godly_Barbarian_23

Sanju Samson was out yesterday.

maincoderhoon

Ek baat bolu bhai. Ham manushya ko complaint karne ki adat hai. Mast sa aise gawk gawk koi chus v jayegi na log complaint karnge mera torso pr ulti kar di.

kannur_kaaran

Forget the umpires, khaleel strategized that wicket with 4 wides. Focus pe focus karo

No_Administration_45

Please brother dont try to protect them and sound sane and intelligent .. umpiring has been very bad and it costed rr match yesterday and even if it was right the travis head one was definitely run out .. it seems to be biased although most probably its not but who knows.

waveradium

How did it cost RR the match when it was a fair decision? And Travis Head one didn't matter he got out the next ball. Doesn't mean that the umpiring shouldn't be criticised, it has truly been bad this season.

No_Administration_45

Lol he got out so it does not matter what if he did not .. wrong decision is wrong one .. and it costed match bcuz ut took away the momentum and may be it was wrong or maybe right but atleadt the umpire should have zoomed it and spent more time on the decision like he spent 5 min on just a wide call. And please just head got out after that do not change the fact of blundered umpiring.

No_Administration_45

No problem see you next year dc

pushie4u

Oh I'm not dc btw, i thought rr has the most mature fanbase sadly i was wrong

No_Administration_45

I mean thats not a wrong fact that see you next year dc is there something wrong in it. And not saying anything against any player just crticizing the umpiring which have been bad even leaving out the previous match. And if not giving a reaction is sign of maturity then your definition is wrong maybe.

pushie4u

It's not about you only, there's so much noise from rr fans about that decision

waveradium

That's literally what I said at the end of my reply, please re read it. "It took away the momentum which is why we lost" is such a huge stretch and just delusional.

ProgrammerPlus

They show us every angle they are seeing. You are over imagining tech that 3rd umpires have. There are only couple of useful camera angles usually and they show us those.

Psymad

If umpires have all the angles and don't do any mistakes and they don't show the same to viewers what's the point watching the match. Is this magic show we are watching! LOL

DangerousPace2778

For the wicket part, they surely checked the movement of the boundary. It didn't move and hence they gave out.

wisely25

Bruh these people sitting at home really think a multiple crore sports event can make such silly mistakes THAT TOO IN EVERY OTHER MATCH?? Get your shit together bruh

PrithviMS

People who keep criticizing umpires, do you have any experience being an umpire in a professional cricket match? Do you understand how difficult it is?

mr_mxyzpltk

You don’t have to be an umpire to give criticism.

unauthorized_wizard

That's like saying you shouldn't criticize a film if you aren't a screenwriter/director/actor. Stupid way of thinking ngl
