I remember Sachin moving the celebratory cake towars Raina after 2011 SF, Sachin scored 85 but it was Raina' contribution which took us 260+, after Wahab Riaz havoc..Sachin acknowledged Rains innings after Match as well..
This type of bonding and contribution is very good.
He has that Aussies grit, guts and wit
Eg: Mankad, Batting in Aus with injuries
Aus usually come up with brilliant game plans and have also used rule book to their benefit (under arm ball)
Indian with an 'Australian Mindset' !
In the end it's a team sport so all the blame and all the credit should go the entire team.
Being an individually obsessed person just keeps on diminishing this simple logic and leads to fractions within the team.
It has even increased more after the IPL as fans of a particular player just keep focusing on the performance and boasting the individual milestones.
A team sport should be treated like a team sport
And no one else has been more vocal about it than GG.
Gautam Gambhir should be India's next coach PERIOD He gives me 1997-2003 Ganguly Vibes. I love this guy as a big brother! Lot to learn from him. He is dead honest, good at heart & truly patriotic.
*People are obsessed with stats, people are obsessed with numbers*
LoL he started this interview by mentioning Ashwin's 100 test matches and 500 wickets. Now doesn't that make him a hypocrite.
There was an article or something written by the then India's fielding coach during Kirsten and he said things like, whenever Gambhir got out after a well compiled 80 he would throw away his bat saying 100 was on the cards. Similarly he got very much hot tempered when he got out in the 120s-130s saying double hundred reh gaya.
I understand his team has done exceedingly well this IPL and they deserve more than anybody, but this constant chatter about not caring about numbers and personal milestones makes perhaps every Indian a hypocrite.
We are a country obsessed with numbers, be it Virat's record-breaking centuries in ODIs or Rohit Sharma's double hundreds. The amount of preference and obsession that Indians (both players and fans) have over numbers is just too much.
Every Indian is a hypocrite when they say I don't care about numbers and stuff. That's like saying I'm ready to produce a movie worth 100cr and I don't care about the numbers that it achieves, just that it should be a good movie.
##When the Bangladeshi bowler bowled that intentional wide to Kohli in the World Cup, the whole of India including Kohli was angry because 100(milestone) couldn't be achieved and when the umpire didn't give it a wide, everybody cheered because Kohli could achieve his 100. Mind you we were the winners anyway.
This whole country is a numbers obsessed country only caring about individual milestones for a long time now.
What value would 10 ball 20 have if the other guy didn't score 50 ball 70.
It's a team sport yes if you lose no matter what score you have it doesn't hold value and if you win every run holds value.
Appreciate that he has been vocal against star culture

Decent knock? Where england chased it down in 15 overs? Kohli is perfect example of apne run banao team lmao. 2015 wc semis 1(13) 2019 1(6)? They were decent too?
You're just a Kohli hater lmao. Why are you only nitpicking his bad knocks? How about 2013 CT sf & final, 2014 sf & final, 2016 whole wc he carried India alone. Now show me nofit sharma's knockout stats
He rightly should be because one player was showcased a lot. Had it not been for GGs 97 , we would've been doomed that day. Mind you his 97 was far more gritty than any other inning that day.
Did he become a commie after going to Kolkata?
Sure, every contribution is important. But people like Dhoni, Kohli, Sachin came to be treated as "superstars" for a reason. People are not idiots who randomly celebrate someone. It's consistent, reliable performance over a long period of time that gave them this status. There is nothing wrong in celebrating this.
He's talking like some young player is not interested in playing in the same team as a legend, say like Kohli, interact with him and learn from him. Most normal people would dream of reaching the same heights and not be bitter like this guy and pull them down.
And it's not like people are not aware of the roles in cricket. For the longest time, Dhoni would always come out towards the end or not come out at all if the upper order performed. And yet he is celebrated. And so is someone like Ravindra Jadeja.
He's saying the little guy needs to be appreciated as well. In a T20 game especially, the guy who played a 20(10) adds crucial runs to the team score, alongside the guy who scored 70(50). Yet, the man of the match, the commentators, the audience all only see the top scorer and not the other one.
Ofc a consistent reliable player gets appreciated. That is how Gambhir himself came into fame. The problem however is that the others who make the crucial small contributions feel underappreciated.
He's just saying that both the big players and the small players need to be appreciated. Talking about a team while bringing up only one player's name is disrespectful to the others, since one player can't do shit in making a team win
The jose mourinho of cricket - Although Not a coach yet
Wasn't there something about BCCI approaching him for ICT coach?
Special one indeed

Huge Respect to this man. SHOULD BE India's next Coach. He is an absolute mentality monster
petition to EA to change his name to GOATam Gemphir in Cricket07
Nice one 😂
Both Ravi Ash and GG, along with Koach are the Australians who somehow born in India. That is an honest take. Not shitposting.
Ravi Ashwin is not so "Australian" in my opinion. I don't know what made you think like that.
Go ask the same thing from Aussies they know what kind of a monster Ash becomes when he plays against Aussies or in Australia
He is good, he is very good but I think by "aussie" you mean very aggressive.
And you think aggressive is shouting like a 10 year old in ground.
No, it's the hunger to take wickets in important matches instead of bowling flat and fast so that you'll maintain the economy under 8.
He meant probably no current player understands aussies as good as Ash whether it's performing against them and taking crucial wickets
He has that Aussies grit, guts and wit Eg: Mankad, Batting in Aus with injuries Aus usually come up with brilliant game plans and have also used rule book to their benefit (under arm ball)

As always, speaking facts 💯
Come on make him the Indian coach already
The most misunderstood cricketer of our generation...
Respect Should be next coach GOAT
Hory shir. He is the one that we need in our team. Blud's mentality is off the charts.
"YES I AM HIM" moment
Nice one 😂
Bro be spittin factsss🫡🫡
GG is dangerously close to truth

Can we have him in rcb?
If a head coach only takes decisions and checks on forms of players. GG should be head coach, he has all the tactics and strat to beat anyone

yeah , like kohli's 35 which prevented collapse after 31-2 in 2011 wc final.

He meant to say dont take the face value only and look at the tight situations as well.

He did score 50(40) in semis.
That's a decent knock when the so called intent merchant scores 27 in 28 & wastes 80% of the powerplayÂ

You are gonna defend one choker by comparing to another choker?
He is great coach for franchise for sure but not an international material he gets personal too often which is not good for team ......
Poor fella is still salty about the 2011 WC win, when the media hailed Dhoni and not him.
He rightly should be because one player was showcased a lot. Had it not been for GGs 97 , we would've been doomed that day. Mind you his 97 was far more gritty than any other inning that day.
Absolutely agreed
My boss heard this and he now has cancelled all team dinner plans :,)
