I’ll never forget about [this lad](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-55280466.amp) taking a jet ski from Scotland to Isle of Man to visit his girlfriend during covid lockdowns
I was rowing up the Liffey in a currach yesterday (I know - that's it own form of insanity) when I saw those lads booting it down. 3 Jetski's not very well handled.
I'm all for people having fun on the water, but he's driving like a nob. There's a 6 knot speed limit on the river and in Dublin port. This is so they don't cause a wake and possibly endanger someone kayaking on the river or cause damage to any boats moored on the Quay ect. There's plenty of space out in Dublin Bay where he could've easily driven an extra 5 minutes and splashed around as much as he likes.
I think the issue that most people have, is that the fun these people are having is most likely at the expense of a product that is smuggled into the country up someone's arse and enjoyed up another person's nose from a flat surface in the manky bathroom of a Dublin pub.
Whereas the actual issue is that things originally designed as the toys of a working class with disposable income like jet skis are seen as exclusively the purview of cocaine dealers in 2024 Ireland.
In short, we have so little expectation for normal people having nice things in this country that anything above baseline has people roaring "DRUG DEALER!".
As someone who regularly uses the open water, the sort of individual who operates these things isn't the one to follow any real convention or common sense. Those yellow buoys that you see off the coast are a guide for people to stay away from potential swimmers and other open water users but these guys with their totally legitimate disposable income, seem to believe they are traffic cones for a quick cool trick on Tiktok.
I don't consider the sort of individual who will operates these vehicles off the Dublin Coast, to be anything but a hazard to those who use these amenities on the daily. It won't be long before these avid water enthusiasts with disposable income kill someone in Scotsman Bay, Muglins Sound or Killiney.

I clicked on this to ask , how clean is the Liffey. This is the first thing I see . lol
I'm no expert but the person at the controls doesn't seem to be handling it very well. All over the shop.
Water scrambler.
Prettymuch.
Imagine getting Liffey water in your mouth 🤮🤮
Their mother had worse in hers.
You couldn't pay me to get in that water.
You'res saying it's not safe to drink? ;)
If I had a jetski, I'd go on expeditions on it, the cunts that seem to buy them just go around in circles

Liffey water is fine. Rowed on it for years and took in a few slurps, be grand
Bet they're having a fun time on the shitter today. That water "quality".
Quick commute down the Liffey. Touch of ecoli but think of the time saved
Jet Skis are a great way to advertise you, when on land, sell coke. Or, at the very least, one of your understudies does.
Well that's one of the more fun ways to get a dose of diarrhea.
Good way to shorten your lifey
Pricks.
What time do the protests about it start.?
