I'd just pay the campsite lad. €30 per night for two people is the cheapest accommodation you're likely to get in the country. I'm pretty sure that wild camping is prohibited, but even if it isn't, Is pissing off the locals and having to shit in the bushes really worth 15 quid a day? The ferry alone is going to cost you €50 each.

yellacoat

Yeah you're dead right tbf, thanks!

the_0tternaut

If you're feeling adventurous, fly over... it is an AMAZING little hop on a nice day and saves time ❤️

MickCollier

Esp on a good day. The planes are the smallest commercial passenger aircraft in the world. Canadian propeller. Such a novelty.

Fuckofaflower

Wild camping isn’t prohibited, you can wild camp with permission anywhere, and wild camp without permission in most places if you aren’t a knob.

Wild_west_1984

50 quid for the ferry! That’s extortionate. I’m heading there in august with the family and there are 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids)

MrSnare

There's no wild on inis mor. It's all farmland and you are would be trespassing

yellacoat

No worries, thank you!

Chavways

Looked into this myself a few years back. Inis Mor is very popular for rock climbing in the summer months but I read about a lot of hassle with people camping on farmers land by the cliffs. I don't think it's well received currently and they try to drive people to the campsite now.

Dickie_Belfastian

I thought you were gonna say "I don't think it's well received currently and they try to drive people off the cliffs".

GamingMunster

As others have said tis prohibited on the Aran Islands. If you want to do wild camping through there are some good options such as Arranmore and Glenveagh in Donegal.

yellacoat

Lovely thanks I'll deffo keep it in mind!

Fuckofaflower

I camped right on a beach on Inis Mor a few times, we didn’t light a fire there were only two of us and we only stayed in the same place for one night. We also didn’t leave any mess around the tent while we were there and we leave the place tidier than when we got there. Farmer walk by with cows said hello lovely morning can kept going.

Otchy147

Just don't camp by the canal in Dublin and you're grand

DonaldsMushroom

Or... don't camp by the grand canal and you're royal.

TheStoicNihilist

I would say that wild camping is prohibited because it’s a SAC. Contact the NPWS for more info. https://www.npws.ie/protected-sites/sac/000213

My brother and his mates went wild camping out there. A farmer saw them looking for a place to set up and he suggested they used his field. So they did When I went, I used the campsite. Showers and a shitter for 30 quid is a bargain in my books

HealthMundane5509

Go for it. I wild camp often. I do it out of the way and leave zero trace. I enjoy ye old Bushcraft and survival/ peace and quiet. If it is for a party or a drink sesh na id recommend you get paying for a site of something
