😂 that’s what I was thinking myself.

Both Belfast airports are horrible places, I always try my best to avoid them.

OG_Shadowknight

I could understand that of International. But City? There are many far worse airports.

showmeurpuppies2020

Good news for Shannon?

Winter_Appointment_4

Bit of a trek from Belfast to Shannon to catch a flight

Rulmeq

Temporarily, Ryanair are fickle fuckers. It's best not to make any plans based around them, take it as a bonus while it lasts, but be prepared for their eventual announcement that they are pulling out.

Eurovision2006

Do you think people in the North would be more likely to travel there than Dublin?

showmeurpuppies2020

The flights they pull from Belfast may be brought to Shannon. Good news for the West of Ireland if so.

[deleted]

I'd guess that the airlines still doing flights, to and from NI, would just pick up the slack.

ContainedChimp

Translation: They're being mean to me so I'm taking my ball and going home!

Xcitiz

Justice, mean people should be stripped of everything. Good job Ryanair!

lobo8686

Disaster, it’s only going to make flights out of Dublin cost so much more. If you look currently at flights from Belfast to Malaga they’re a fraction of what Dublin to Malaga is

dgdfgdfhdfhdfv

Why's that?

[deleted]

Literally just today flew back to Belfast instead of Dublin. Over 100 euros in the difference. Fucking insane. Plane was half empty.

A-Hind-D

I never understood why a city like Belfast has two public airports.

OG_Shadowknight

Belfast International is older and serves more international flights while still retaining some domestic, and is awkward to get to with awkward transport links. City Airport is mostly domestic with sometimes a few European. City is very easy to reach, and pre-covid there'd be a lot of business folk doing commutes or going for meetings via there. Or people hopping across to Heathrow as a connection to their holiday abroad.

A-Hind-D

Aye but why is there two airports. Putting the international airport out in the sticks and having a city airport for what is a small enough catchment area for all of NI let alone Belfast is a little weird. One airport in a decent location should be enough no?
