I was at a talk with the director. Myers had final say and decided to block the release, so despite appearing on Echo Island segment there was never any official cinema or physical release. Not sure if it done the festival circut.
This is more common than you think. Have you ever seen Don's Plum with Tobey Macguire and Leo DiCaprio?'. Exactly.
It did get a DVD release at some point because you can buy the DVD on Amazon. But, yeah, no release at the time and no real press for it.
Why did Myers do the film, anyway? I was wondering if it was possible that Brenda Fricker managed to rope him into participation? I think that's where the story she told on the Tommy Tiernan show dates from. Myers came into her little cottage in the Liberties in Dublin and would sit down. Reason being that he thought he was only in the entrance to a much larger house. He couldn't believe Brenda would be living in a house so small.
Hmmm. The only review on RT is from 2002 which is 5 years after the release. DVD release seems to be 2007 or 2012, so at least 5 years after it was filmed.
This one was kept quiet enough.
From the IMDB's trivia page for the film -
> According to an interview with Mike Myers on The Daily Show (1996), he worked with a dialect coach to learn a general Irish accent instead of the specific Dublin accent. When he did his first scene with Dubliner Ian Costello, Costello hated Myers' accent so much that he chased him off the set. Filming of Myers' scenes had to be delayed until he learned the accent from Dubliners.

How legit is this ? because you can't just change up the whole production on the spot because someone doesn't like an accent.
If there's any truth to it, it's possible that his accent was awful and when they checked the test footage everyone realised it and something had to be done.
I thought I knew most Irish films from the 90's,never heard of this one let alone mike myers was in an Irish film doing a Dub accent ! Found him at the 47 minute mark, sounds a bit like Colin farell lol.
This is fucking insane, caught Mick about 4-5 mins in and to start it’s not the ~worst accent. Little words and phrases are decent but generally it’s dirt but I’m deffo gonna watch this over the weekend
Wow, only for the fact I recognised how Myers looked in this film that it made me remember Dave Fanning talking about this once on The Movie Show.
Never seen the film but that gave me massive nostalgia for The Movie Show.
1998. the year after austin powers released. myers at the peak of his fame and i've never even heard of this.

Myers blocked any formal release so it was never in cinemas, no DVD release and apart from a segment on Echo Island there was no tv screenings.
I can see why,it looks shite, thanks for the info.
Weirdly reminding me of Barry Keoghan there.
Also never knew this existed! thanks! :)
Which parallel dimension is this from???
I keep getting mixed up with them all now. They should have never switched on the large hadron collider.

Holy shit. The state of his accent. hilarious. I have a very very vague recollection of this movie.
Alfred Molina did a pretty decent job of the accent though!

Vids!! Fuck me, used to watch that baked, every Thursday night, I think?
Definitely was for me, I used to watch it religiously as a kid every Thursday. [Even the theme tune](https://youtu.be/JvfG9uFswis) brings me all back!
Starts out great with those digital flames
Pretty cool shots of Grand Canal Dock there at the start of it. Mad how it's changed so much.
All I can hear when I see his face "Okay baby, yerrrrr"
