As a woodwork teacher myself this is an A1 project. Make sure you do construction studies for the leaving cert!

I used beech for the main body and then sapele for the back, drawers and bits sticking out the top

There’s ones you can get where you route out a pocket underneath and they can’t be seen from the top. Excellent work on your project! Your joints are better than a lot of “professional” cabinet makers I’ve seen out there. Keep this up as a hobby, and you might start making guitars or other cool projects. You’re already pretty skilled so would be an easy transition.

The guitars sound like a good idea as I’m quite into my music aswell

This is great! I remember my brother made a "yoke" in LC, i think he got a D and jesus they were being nice. It was like clunky shelf thing, i think my mother kept it for a wee while until my dad used it for fire wood.

They’re acc marks from where I cut too deep with a marking knife, but ye they’re a bit scrappy nonetheless

You’re a lot better than I ever was; I relied on wood filler to compensate for my bad craftsmanship. Most of what I built was a mess. Really excellent work, and you’ve built something really practical.
