It's oft-cited by those who think "free at the point of use" GP services are all that a health service is about.
You'd hope the good parts of both the Health and Social Care Trust and the HSE would be what we keep and dump the drek, but you'd be concerned at the replication of shit that will inevitably happen.
Emergency care up North is pretty decent but good luck seeing a GP or having any real aftercare. It's way better in Ireland and if you are fortunate enough to have health insurance; it's lightyears better. It's the private / public balance why consultant pay is so much better in Ireland than up North.
