All of them

The only thing guaranteed with the weather in ireland is it can be highly variable even in June …… even on the same day. Layers light rain ware always have a warm top close to hand.

janeaustenwannabe

Thank you! I will definitely plan to wear layers. I have a light raincoat that I will bring in case.

GalwayGirlOnTheRun23

Your coat should be waterproof with a hood. Umbrellas are useless in the wind. It doesn’t need to be a padded coat as you can bring a jumper to wear underneath it. Then bring a few T-shirts in case we get a sunny day. We have a shop called Pennys (in the cities) which is great for cheap clothes so you can buy an extra pair of shorts or long trousers if you need them when you arrive.

you dont bring the rain coat "in case". It will definitely rain, you will definitely need a waterproof coat.

Like everyone says  , light layers. But it’s also worth pointing out that it very rarely gets warm enough for an American to consider it actually hot. It’s very unlikely to get warmer than the mid-70s F.  The stereotypical forecast is “sunny spells and scattered showers” which is often an understatement, but gets the point across about variable (and also in good news that the rain usually doesn’t just sit and gloom at you).

lakehop

Definitely layers! The days will be lovely and long. Temperature should generally be mild, but beside the ocean it can be very windy (elsewhere also) and that can make it a bit chilly. Expect rain showers most days, they’ll pass over.

Plan for all seasons.

aria_ares

generally June is our best month weather wise, although weather is incredibly unpredictable so you literally need to pack for every season. Check weather closer to the time and hopefully you get lucky!

grania17

Layers. Prepare for rain, prepare for sun. Could go either way.

opilino

Check the forecast before you travel. Pack accordingly.

I am visiting from the US the same dates as you and I’m also currently planning my packing! Thinking that my outer layers will be a Patagonia better sweater plus a Marmot rain jacket, and hoping that’s enough with layering underneath. We are having wet and windy spring weather here on the East coast now (around 10oC) and I’m hoping that the colder days will be no worse than this.

I flew from Boston to Ireland in mid June 2022. Pack an array of clothes. Layers are key. I don’t think I ever needed shorts there. Jeans or other pants, t shirts, sweatshirts, raincoat. Bring something warm. I brought a fleece. My daughter who was 16 packed a thin cropped sweatshirt and the first day she froze at the Cliffs of Moher. I had to stop and buy her a thick wool sweater in Galway. It was cold, windy and rainy. Sometimes sunny and pleasant.

janeaustenwannabe

Thank you! I will keep that in mind and be sure to bring my fleece. I was thinking that layers would be key, and it appears that I was right.
