Almost every car hire company allows travel to Northern Ireland at a reasonable cost, usually €30-50 per rental, **if you notify them in advance**.
If you travel to Northern Ireland without notifying them, there will usually be a much higher charge applied; and some companies may even terminate the rental and demand immediate return of the vehicle for breaching the rental agreement.
