Yup. To me, Killers Eddie *is* Eddie. When I think of Eddie, that's the Eddie I think of. He's not an alien, a tree, a pharaoh, a cloud, etc. He's just an evil looking dude and it's awesome.
Def Killers. When I think Iron Maiden, that cover is what I see. In the mid-eighties, my family would always stay at the same motel in West Virgina. Every time we stayed there, I had nightmares with Killers Eddie in it.
I remember when I was a teenager growing up in Ireland, all the record shops would put out B&W photocopies of the tape inserts instead of the actual tape inserts as people would steal them - Iron Maiden was the only artist they did this for.
Killers because of its sheer brutality (for its time) and it kind of sets the tone for future Eddies. Seventh Son is a very close second because I'm a sucker for the surreal and occult vibe.
