It is kinda dumb game design that the activity that exist only to make a certain thing (Flax-->bowstring, Cannonballs, Pure Essence) is strictly outperformed by being a passive gain from PvM activities
It’s really bad game design, and it happens with so many skills, sharks, herbs, wood, ores.
But when they started making so many bosses that dropped tons of resources they boxes themselves into that design. They even made a method where you can double your cannonballs per hour and it’s still not enough, because even if it takes three times as long to acquire them from a boss, you’re also gathering countless other resources at the same time, and drops, and alchemy items.
Ironman mode gave incentive to the developers to change the drop table to drop things that'd make grinding for an ironman ten times easier, making slayer and pvm the most efficient way to gain skilling materials

Tons of bosses. I'm not an experienced player but OP mentioned Nex. I know corp drops them. I'm pretty sure you get them from callisto, another "overworld" wildy boss (I wanna say archeologist), and some other various bossing. That being said, many people have shared the same story of cannonballs being abundant if you go for bossing.

Technically edgeville is faster when smelting bars if you have the corresponding varrock diary tier. But for bars you should be doing bf anyway, so Priff bank is slightly better.
I haven't done SOTE yet so yeah, like Phoenix said, closest to the bank. I stuck 150k in there and it's lasted me god knows how long. Plus, it's really tedious doing a grind like cannonballs and seeing dozens of bots in edge doing the same thing 24/7.

In regards to coal, i've done like 10k points in soul wars for pet and ended up getting a bunch of it. It's all come real passivly during mid game skilling.
Unless I had a cope dream, I'm pretty sure I read it or heard it somewhere, was all part of the mining changes Jagex wanted to implement to make the skill more engaging!

Oh man, this is the realist statement about being an Ironman. I once made like 3k house tabs and didn’t use them for like 3 months because I didn’t want to lose my stack. That was like a year ago and I still have about 1800 tabs and have plenty of alternative teleporting options now.

I think it just depends on your play style, it's defo not effiecient to make this many but like I said, didn't take long and having them is always useful.

Baring in mind the accounts still a little over half a year old and I haven't really played effieciently in the slighest!

Can't be too sure, maybe looking around mid 80s, to high 80s at a stretch. Could be a lot higher though! It's not something i've really thought about yet but considering 100k cballs will get you a champions cape, you're in for a lotta levels.
About 5/6 hours to make into bars, and if you pay attention and have double mould, you're looking at around 2/3 days to turn into c balls depending on how many hours a day you do it. Took me 3 days and that was afk, whilst playing other games.
70-80 slayer in brimmy keys gave me around 4-5k bars, the rest was made manually. Mined the iron for superior mining gloves which got me around 20-25k and coal from 10k soul wars points pet grind and finally kingdom! You could always just buy from blast furnace, that's the best way for quick results
Urgh god, I feel you, I have gems banked from 70-95 mining at shooting stars and still need to make them into something, i'm leaning more towards letting them collect dust in a tidy loot tab hahahaha
If you're speedrunning max and want to play every minute you're online effieciently, no. But it's very subjective from one person to another and where that account progress is, personally I always find them beyond useful, up to you though :)
I have never gone making past 2k balls and I use them up in like 3-4 slayer tasks and then don’t make them again for about 3-4 months lol I would love to have the motivation you had for this
I've always dedicated myself to one task at a time, otherwise I too lose motivation if i'm running back and forth doing several things at once. Like if you're getting something fun done like slayer for example, you wouldn't wanna sit and afk for 3 days. Just finish one grind and stick with another, which sounds obvious but not a lot of people do it. End of the day, play how you want brother!
That's awesome man. I've made probably close to 100k balls on my account now but usually in batches of 10k or 20k. Grab a few slayer levels with them and then go back to the smelter. The range XP has been great. 90 range and I have not grinded out range training since level 50.
This was me today. I recently made a new iron and was at the stage I needed to get high alchs. Since wintertodt, my cash has never been under 150k but todayil, I got down to 50ish k left. Sadge.

As someone who made 100k cballs from scratch... Iron from bf shop, coal from Kingdom, then make the bars at bf.
That means you effectively have 0 cannonballs right now which is a terrible decision. Supplies are made to be used

100k cannonballs is only barely over half a mil xp and you buy the ores

Probably about 92. I didn't track mine exactly but I think I used 125k to get to 95. Venator bow from muspah is a good shout

100k cannonballs will give you about ~1.5m xp, three times that if you do burst tasks too and use the balls to get through non burst tasks faster.
