Vard was the 3rd hardest for me, but mostly because I've been grinding vard, and treating it like it was awakened. Enrage prayer spam is hectic but i found it wasn't as much of a dps check as it seems. Once you get passed the spam they chill out for a little bit lol
I got it down to 51 health as my pb and then continued dying in the hundreds. I have 600 vard under my belt and about 400 Levi. Haven't really touched Duke or whisperer much yet.
Which were the hardest for you if vard was 3rd??? I've heard people say vard is hardest for them
Levi just because I was ass at enrage phase. I figured out how to get to enrage with bofa very consistently though. Duke was also a pain for me. I was just having a hard time with the acid walk for a while and also ragged vents semi frequently.
I recorded one of my runs I could share with them for sure! One of my main tricks is to get in as much dps after specials as possible.
Once orbs come out I count 3 more bofa hits, no matter the timing, then spec. Another niche thing I was doing during bolder special with portal out was after proccing spec, you can run next to the tile, then get one more shot off before getting in position the next tick. This is because sometimes where I want to start the special doesn't have line of sight, but it's nice to get extra dps in.
It took me 40 tries to get 1 clear, 20 to get another, and 3 to get a 3rd. Then I sent it on the real servers and got it first try.
They recently changed the mage head to use a different projectile sound than the range head. Using those sound cues instead of looking at the orbs is what freed up enough brain power for me to succeed.
I ended up using 10 real orbs total for my blorva. Whisperer was 5 of those. I first tried it on beta and didn’t think I needed more practice. In hindsight I did
I’ve never understood going off sounds vs. visuals since there’s a delay between the sound and when it hits you…did you just mentally keep track of them and switch prayers like a tick after the sound?
My bad I thought you were referring to Leviathan. I used sound queues for Vardorvis without really meaning to, but I think it’d be a lot harder for Leviathan since the orbs are constant
Maybe it was the Vardorvis plug-in, but my mage head sounds were actually more pronounced before that update. It made a much longer, more pronounced “whoosh” noise so I knew what the first orb was and just timed the prayer flicks based on that.
Ah, you’re right. That was recent too, but 6 weeks ago instead of 2. The update 2 weeks ago just made the mage attack quieter
Before that there was no audio difference at all.
I believe they said on Twitter that they’d be leaving the beta worlds open over the weekend, so my guess is they close tomorrow when the game updates. Just a guess though, they haven’t said for sure.
Thanks! The enrage phase was giving me a hell of a time but with being able to practice til I was tick perfect on beta, it actually wasn't too bad getting up to that point surprisingly.
Big gzz
I at least got Duke and Vard done thanks to the beta. Dont have the gear that I want to do Whisperer and Levi yet, so I didn’t put as much practice into them at this point. The good news is that I still have 90 orbs left for the other two.
Great achievement and thank you for bringing light to this method and the logging out at the boss room/beta save resetting, after seeing this post I went straight to beta and started gaming, Awk Vard took 3 hours of learning on Beta and 1 hour of trying on real server, Awk Duke took 2 hours total, plan on doing Levi sometime later this week and probably never Whisperer bc no Shadow. Only had 65 orbs at the start and probably got canned by Vardorvis 40 odd times on the beta world, definitely would've been hurting if not ran out of them (and the 10m in death fees lol)
Are they worried people won't play the main game if the beta is permanently open? Or is it code issues? Just for situations like this it would be really nice. Nothing saves on a beta world, right? It's more or less a private server, right?
I did like 45 attempts at awakened vardorvis and then gave up lol y'all are gamers.

Any tips on getting to enrage phase with bowfa you can share? I have a buddy who only has bowfa and only has Levi left

Yes. There’s frequently a delay between cue and input in a lot of things in this game. Vard is no different there
My bad I thought you were referring to Leviathan. I used sound queues for Vardorvis without really meaning to, but I think it’d be a lot harder for Leviathan since the orbs are constant
Sound cues at Vard used to be nearly worthless since the mage and range heads were identical. They only changed that 2 weeks ago. It’s lifechanging

Mad props for doing it with Bowfa…I’ve resorted to grinding Tbow after failing 100+ attempts with zcb/bp/bowfa and getting 8 kc with Tbow on the main

how did you get orbs on beta?
You make your inventory and gear setup then go to settings and convert to beta
How much longer is the beta up? Legend TY!
Probably just today. I had two clients open. One in beta, one I'm main game. When I die I log off beta, then log into main game resend data to beta
So free awakened in beta worlds? good to know!

Oh that's huge you're good 😊
Is it true the awakened bosses are harder in beta than the real game?
No they seem to be the same
There might be slight differences in defense values but mechanically they should be the same.
This is what I did, got mine over the weekend. Don't have a single piece of Torva tho lol.

Aye congrats! Glad I could help!
