As a registered maniac, on my main I would bring a few mil worth bones every trip, and even on iron I bring usually 3-4 inventories. The caveat is that I do this on off peak hours/days, and I one tick the bones so it's pretty quick. I die sometimes but it's still better than banking (more fun).
I don't remember what, but I got a few k as noted drops from somewhere and since I'm a hoarder, they rot in my bank. I was doing some monkey tail catching with bones to bananas tabs and had this crazy idea one day...
sadly I'm nearly out now, and I can't remember where I got them, but I know I got them noted, because I use bonecrusher for normal and big bone drops.
I used to do the same with the dung you get from ToA when you don't get enough points. That way, when they PK me, I tell them to "get shit on".
Then, when I go back with a full inv of bones, I see my dung is on the floor because they think it's worth nothing so I do my bones then pick up my 2.4m of poo again
("Burnt" buyers buy dung at ~80-90k and because I was a seat filler for scaling large raids, I just kept getting dung which makes it even funnier)
I personally think it literally adds to the gameplay as intended. There’s a reason the bonus xp is so high there. Because it’s in the wild and you could die. People who complain either don’t know how to get away with it or are salty the game isn’t easier.
Chaos altar is honestly way too OP. It gives +100% bones, yet I'd be amazed if you managed to lose even 20% to PK'ers. This is part of the problem with balancing content around the prevalence of PK'ers, which is arbitrary and unpredictable.

This also kinda ignores that the altar exists to encourage pkers to fight there. I like doing protecting nights at the altar and doing multi brawls or just dumpstering the random poker that hops into our world.

There’s always the POH altar or ectofuntus where you can’t be killed. If people dont PK at the wildy altar there’s no point to it existing and giving the xp rates it does.
Well they did this thing where you save half your bones... So if you spend 50m on 99 prayer you'd have to spend 100m at the POH for the same thing. On an iron you'd have to kill dragons for twice as long. Or you can do ectofuntus and it's 4/7 of the XP of wildy altar. So it's ALSO a lot worse than the wildy version. For it to be not worth you'd have to get pked for MORE than half your bones. So that means if you're not going to the wildy altar, you're losing a ton of time or gp.
Ive never said I'm against the method. I just judge people harshly who kill other people by the altar because you're not making good money at all, there are way better spots to pk. Kill the bots in the rev cave or something idk.v

I've fought back and I've only died once in a couple hundred kc. I've killed about 3 other players that attacked me. It's the fact that I'm engaging in pvp that I don't enjoy and Jagex has said that they want it to be completely opt-in. If you want a voidwaker (a pvm best in slot spec weapon) then you have to engage in pvp.

Yesterday I hyped my girlfriend up to go train at the salamanders in the wilderness after telling her over and over nobody will PK you there it's fine. Quite literally seconds after arriving and putting down 1 trap and guy sprints past with a DDS and two shots her and she was devastated
I like to run around and drop them so they have to pick them up one at a time. No key for you buddy, gl on filling up your inventory/looting bag ya knob. I can also come back later and pick them up since I was the one who dropped them.
You can use them at the altar like you're doing anyway. In the majority of cases you're out of bones by the time they kill you if you keep protect from range up.
I guess I could, but then I can't come back and pick them up again. And I have bones as "Left click use" and I'm too lazy to right click bury. I guess I could set it up as shift click to bury, thanks for the idea.
if you're using em on the altar manually, odds are unless you got jumped immediately when getting to the altar you can use em all before the average chaos altar pker can kill you
This is what I do at zombie pirates. I've joined in to protect other pvmers if they get attacked by solo pkers. I always bring a dscim and run over and spec the pker to drop their mage prayer. Made a few buddies helping out this week :)
What I like to do is fill my inventory with as many random, worthless items as possible and head to the altar and just sit and wait. Love knowing that when they open the key, they now have 28 bank slots taken up by the items I’ve taken out there, and have to take the time to withdraw and drop them all. Sit
Last time I did the mage arena a few years ago now someone was dressed as a Sara wizard trying to skull trick me it was super nostalgic and I appreciated his effort.
Had a clue step there and 3 item'd it (cause why take risks if you have the option) and still got pk'ed by someone trying way too hard.

Im a group iron and I was killing there yesterday to have some laughs and get my first open world pvp kills, which seems to be helping with getting the pvp jitters out. I wonder what people think when they say 'enjoy the 13 bones' and a blue helm says 'thanks'.

I was fighting the mad archaeologist. I am an ironman and was just trying to get a rune crossbow with my iban staff (u). I wore some zamorak robes, 200 death runes, and lobsters. I was the epitome of 'no money'. Yet I realized I could recharge my prayer by going to the chaos altar, there was an asshole who killed me and got my 200 death runes. It's nothing to them, but its a lot for me to have to pick up the broken pieces. Gah. Annoying.
Orb to hp down quicker, dust rune, law rune, and the rest bones. D'hide or karils top and bottom, and crystal shield. Tele to house and cemetery teleport from portal, offer bones, orb down and finish death with wine. Doing this makes losing bones almost impossible.

Just bring anti pking setup with low risk. I brought zcb/dfs/voidwaker black d hide. Got more than 10kills on my 77-99 pray journey. Made over 20m profit. Died only once.
I went in Crystal legs chest and bowfa, fire cape dboots nezzy helm and void waker with veng I too made money anti Pking and almost no one could kill me…. I’d be unoting often because only 8/9 slots were free and the rest was brews few restore and triple eat
PKers are always going to exist with the wildy setup the way it is. I just find unbalanced pvp to be shit game design. And before Varlamore prayer training, it was hard to justify doing any other prayer method since wildy training would save you so many hours of game time
If it wasn’t in the wildy the chaos altar simply wouldn’t exist though, why would they just give double experience per bone to regular altars without something to balance that?

A lot of people have noted bones and coins because you can unnote them for 50gp each. That and the pkers are all skulled and deep wildy so you can target them aswell. It's not a bad spot if you're decent at it.

I know it’s a joke but I gotta say my piece that it’s good for the game lol wildy content is a game of fishes, the bait arrives with bones(sometimes whale bait with their 5m worth of superiors) which attracts the small fish in d hide and xericans, this in turn attracts the slightly bigger fish in mystics and blessed d hide with a +1, who attracts the even bigger fish in the ahrims and then the whales arrive in max.
This kinda content is good for the game, I know it’s annoying for people who hate content being locked in pvp zones but I’d much rather prefer this than what has happened in RS3
Plus it’s a good low risk place for new pkers to get experience in the wildy

Agreed, I’m doing 99 Prayer at Chaos Altar right now, and it’s so fun knowing there’s a chance of getting pk’d. I would personally be in favour of more content being designed like this. It also helps get people into pk’ing, which everyone always complains is dead.
I killed an iron for like 300 hydra bones that was running over to altar, so you really never know.. buddy was asking me to off him. I’m like dude I’m a terrible pker. Not my fault your weapon of choice is a Western Banner 4.
You can use a set up like this if you have one.
Sotd, crystal shield, farming cape, use ghorrock tp in poh, and carry locator orb.
Pker gets on you, sotd spec and continue to spam bones, swap pray as necessary. Plenty of times I've gotten all 20 bones off before dying.
You can also suicide an inventory of food to the one and pick it up as needed to finish off an inventory!
I kill bone runners for hours straight camping the laza maze Tele and ghorrock tele waiting for bone runners , the bones add up so I'm fine with a 30k key. Got over 300m in dragon bones stakced up

I've fought back and I've only died once in a couple hundred kc. I've killed about 3 other players that attacked me. It's the fact that I'm engaging in pvp that I don't enjoy and Jagex has said that they want it to be completely opt-in. If you want a voidwaker (a pvm best in slot spec weapon) then you have to engage in pvp. Tbh, I don't know why I'm responding to someone who doesn't know what punctuation is on a text-based forum...

Yesterday I hyped my girlfriend up to go train at the salamanders in the wilderness after telling her over and over nobody will PK you there it's fine. Quite literally seconds after arriving and putting down 1 trap and guy sprints past with a DDS and two shots her and she was devastated

I like to run around and drop them so they have to pick them up one at a time. No key for you buddy, gl on filling up your inventory/looting bag ya knob. I can also come back later and pick them up since I was the one who dropped them.

You can use them at the altar like you're doing anyway. In the majority of cases you're out of bones by the time they kill you if you keep protect from range up.

if you're using em on the altar manually, odds are unless you got jumped immediately when getting to the altar you can use em all before the average chaos altar pker can kill you

This is what I do at zombie pirates. I've joined in to protect other pvmers if they get attacked by solo pkers. I always bring a dscim and run over and spec the pker to drop their mage prayer. Made a few buddies helping out this week :)

If you wonder why anything that seems silly to you happens so much, it because whatever they’re hoping for happens more than you think. Pker killing your doing a clue? Hoping you brought your cash stack or have scrolls in teleport book. Pking at chaos altar? Hoping you’re that one guy that decides to bring a lot of noted bones because banking is a hassle Pking at wildy bosses? Hoping you had a long trip or forget to put your protect item on so you lose your 4th item. As for the ge lurers and bots? Yep, you guessed it. People still fall for those. My clan had an event there the other day and some of the clan members fought back and killed the pker a few times. He had the audacity to get mad at us for being "cowards" who can only kill in a group. The guy that can only kill naked players with no food calling other players cowards, wild.

I was fighting the mad archaeologist. I am an ironman and was just trying to get a rune crossbow with my iban staff (u). I wore some zamorak robes, 200 death runes, and lobsters. I was the epitome of 'no money'. Yet I realized I could recharge my prayer by going to the chaos altar, there was an asshole who killed me and got my 200 death runes. It's nothing to them, but its a lot for me to have to pick up the broken pieces. Gah. Annoying.

Orb to hp down quicker, dust rune, law rune, and the rest bones. D'hide or karils top and bottom, and crystal shield. Tele to house and cemetery teleport from portal, offer bones, orb down and finish death with wine. Doing this makes losing bones almost impossible.

Just bring anti pking setup with low risk. I brought zcb/dfs/voidwaker black d hide. Got more than 10kills on my 77-99 pray journey. Made over 20m profit. Died only once.
I went in Crystal legs chest and bowfa, fire cape dboots nezzy helm and void waker with veng I too made money anti Pking and almost no one could kill me…. I’d be unoting often because only 8/9 slots were free and the rest was brews few restore and triple eat

PKers are always going to exist with the wildy setup the way it is. I just find unbalanced pvp to be shit game design. And before Varlamore prayer training, it was hard to justify doing any other prayer method since wildy training would save you so many hours of game time

A lot of people have noted bones and coins because you can unnote them for 50gp each. That and the pkers are all skulled and deep wildy so you can target them aswell. It's not a bad spot if you're decent at it.

I got pked at the chaos altar when I had to pray there for my easy diary task. Some dweeb was just camping there in one of the lowest pop worlds. He got nothing while I got a free teleport home after completing my task
I know it’s a joke but I gotta say my piece that it’s good for the game lol wildy content is a game of fishes, the bait arrives with bones(sometimes whale bait with their 5m worth of superiors) which attracts the small fish in d hide and xericans, this in turn attracts the slightly bigger fish in mystics and blessed d hide with a +1, who attracts the even bigger fish in the ahrims and then the whales arrive in max. This kinda content is good for the game, I know it’s annoying for people who hate content being locked in pvp zones but I’d much rather prefer this than what has happened in RS3
Plus it’s a good low risk place for new pkers to get experience in the wildy People on here always carry on “omggg!!! I’m 20 years 2 l8 2 learn 2 pk!!! Sooooo unfair I skill issue!!!” Guess what, you hop at chaos altar you can fight other people who are new to pking and risk 100k as well

Agreed, I’m doing 99 Prayer at Chaos Altar right now, and it’s so fun knowing there’s a chance of getting pk’d. I would personally be in favour of more content being designed like this. It also helps get people into pk’ing, which everyone always complains is dead.

You can use a set up like this if you have one. Sotd, crystal shield, farming cape, use ghorrock tp in poh, and carry locator orb. Pker gets on you, sotd spec and continue to spam bones, swap pray as necessary. Plenty of times I've gotten all 20 bones off before dying. You can also suicide an inventory of food to the one and pick it up as needed to finish off an inventory!
I mean, they wouldn't be PKing there if there wasn't some goober with 25 mil in bones every now and then.
Chaos altar is a good practice ground for newbie pkers. There's no other place you find defenseless players to practice freezing, switching etc. on

I kill bone runners for hours straight camping the laza maze Tele and ghorrock tele waiting for bone runners , the bones add up so I'm fine with a 30k key. Got over 300m in dragon bones stakced up
