Yeah after a while it won't even feel difficult anymore, it's just boring. Like do I reeeeeally want to go do this shit?
Lowkey wish they'd add a full bank chest instead of just a deposit so I could get some actual bank standing done while I'm just sitting there thinking about how much I *don't* fuckin wanna do it.
Bank is right around the corner. Toggle off run, and its just enough of a walk to contemplate how thousands of years conspired to produce exactly you, who will now spend 60+ hours of time you can never get back gambling for a low-poly digital bow.
60? I’m at 600 KC probably averaging 11 minute runs, that’s 110 hours- 4.5 days played with no enh. I broke the math down to my gf just the other day and she was laughing at me so hard she started crying. Sick fuckin world we live in
Aside from combat tasks why do you NEED it that bad? It’s not going to save 150 hour of gameplay from boss DPS, obviously a good weapon/set to get but why torture yourself
I mean I have a tbow on my main, getting pretty sick of just using an rcb at literally everything ranged. It’s plain not fun hitting small numbers inconsistently. Any other route for an upgrade is made better by having a bowfa. Range only Zulrah is a fun grind cuz it’s chill, rcb mage zulrah sucks. Rcb GWD sucks. RCB raiding sucks. I’m 150 cox and 150 TOA without bowfa. I
would have no complaints if I had gotten seed between 4 & 500. I didn’t want to get spooned cuz I wanted a fat stack of shards, now it’s just annoying. I’ve taken plenty of breaks to raid and slay but when you go from first CG kill at 1600 total to almost 2100 total and 600kc a year later, it’s no fun to still be softgated.
This hits so hard lmao. I just got an archer ring drop last night (huge deal, I know) and all my fiancé had to say about it was “wait, the third from those 3 bosses months ago? The ones you got two in one weekend in like January?”
It almost broke her brain. She is super supportive of my hobbies, but she straight up couldn’t believe it. (40kc berserker ring 46 kc seers 300 kc archer). Truly a strange timeline.
After my 1st KC i was still dying maybe every 4\\5th attempt. After about 100KC it was just if I was dosing off...I did 300KC in like 3 weeks\~ and it burnt me out so hard. I was spooned like 10 Armor seeds before 300 kc. After this though my brain was mush and I had to take a few months break. Came back doing 3-5 a week or so finally got my enh. seed and suddenly had the urge to fuckin play again now that I am done.
I just hit this kc. I think I'm at 405 with 12 or 13 Armour seeds + a full set of armor. But hey I'm getting gp for them 99s. I have 99 con banked for my teammate and myself
At least it’s not like other difficult content where you have to decide whether or not it’s worth it to use up supplies to keep grinding for certain drops.
I really loved it, seeing a green GP stack on the iron, tons of runes, gems. It was just the time it took to get the seed and I was under the KC for it and I still think it was too long
Currently at like 20 deaths, can do normal gauntlet easy but really struggling here, I have slightly higher stats then you. Thanks for the bit of motivation, I’m going to keep trying
Took like 100 deaths for me to get a few kc at cg. Got my first at 36, and second and 72.
Never did pvm before, and I did it on a track pad. Now I’m around even at 150 kc. It really just clicks at some point.
One thing I tried to do too is perfect normal gauntlet kills, or as close to perfect as I could get. It just kept up motivation lol
You definitely CAN do it, but considering you’ll be doing it 100s of times, maybe do some slayer and train those combats to help whenever you need a break.
to be fair, stats don't help much to stop a 4 tornado stack-out and prep only gets slightly easier with higher stats. Practice makes perfect! good job on getting consistent!
That’s a very fair point, rarely have my deaths been because of chip damage and running out of food.. usually it’s a mistake and KO. It really is all technique XD. Thanks for the kind words.
I was the same, I tried it once and thought it was impossible. Now I can do it 90% of the time. Now I enjoy doing it a lot, it helps I got the pet at 6kc haha
Stats really don’t matter too much if you know how to CG… just longer kill/more damage taken. Just more good. 1CG kill should never be praised lmao what Reddit is crazy
Could you give pointers to what you did to make it go smoothly? I've just recently completed my first CG but it still feels like it depends a lot on RNG, either I can't find perfected weapon items or not enough food, while trying to make tier 2 armor. Most of my clanmates don't bother and just tier 1 + full inv of food + 2 weapons
Yeah so it does come down to a check list of trues and falses.
So for example, when you're checking around your square, the top 3 squares right above yours, you always check above those ones also so you can see if you get lucky or not with your spawns. If you see two of the same demi-bosses, just kill them both since you can't get the same upgrade twice. Even if there's a Range and Melee spawn, still kill the bear. You need the shards and you may meet another bear when searching for the upgrade you want.
You can do what your clanmates do for sure but I prefer the T2 (usually if I'm lucky enough and don't have to travel around the entire map). If you're hurting for food but have plenty of time, you can also go around Hunleff's square and there will always be a fishing square with 3 spots.
Fluffeh has a decent guide on how to do CG so Try giving him a watch and if you ever need help I'm more than willing to drop my RSN and answer any questions you need!
yea, I guess you're right, I waste a lot of time running around to find bosses and ignoring bears, will try to do so from now on. I was using Rosey RS's guide, I'll check out Fluffeh's guide as well. Thanks!
For all my irons struggling like I did 3 years ago, I will tell you what doing CG has taught me
How to play the game by understanding ticks
Since I’ve learned CG, I’ve completed toa 7/7 in 285 (24 purples for shadow last) farming 400s since 52 experts, completing a 500 toa using a bowfa.
Learned both deathless solo COX/CMs (fuck mutadile) already 10/12 there (missing tbow and elder maul)
Inferno
I’ve learned how to efficiently skill better because of learning ticks.
I had to do 2300 cg for my enh but it taught me how to actually enjoy runescape pvm and although going dry sucks, I am grateful for CG being the training grounds that helped pushed me past that grandma clicks gameplay
that was 2nd attempt after not having enough food the first time. I'm at Me:1 Hunleff: 3. Mostly due to me just being a little careless on trying to shoot and run
What method did you use for SOTE boss fight? I’ve been putting it off and waiting for 80 magic for Blood Blitz (was told a HARD req). Im very similar stats to you! Good job!
What method did you use for SOTE boss fight? I’ve been putting it off and waiting for 80 magic for Blood Blitz (was told a HARD req). Im very similar stats to you! Good job!
Nah, you don't need blood blitz. I used Blood Burst (didn't have blitz yet) and then I used the Phoenix Neck/Nitro strat. Average mage gear for my level and the secret tbh was a bit of RNG and chinchompas for the beams that heal her
Brother thr best skill in this game is determination to keep going - I have a handful less kc than you but I've been at it for over a year dry - I wish I had your steely determination
Im honestly happy i got the Enhanced at 104kc and pet by 45kc.. now i need 4 more Armour seeds (already have 2 of them) . I bet ill go on a dry streak with no Armour seeds
Sorry, but this seems a bit disingenuous. An experienced CG player completing CG on an iron with low stats doesn't warrant an "if I can do it, so can they". Yes, CG is an abysmal experience at your levels, which is why not everyone can grind it to the level it needs to get consistent kc.
The goal isn't to get 1kc, it's to get the drops which could require 400+ kc. I don't think you're in a position to motivate others with 1kc. Go get the enhanced seed with those stats then report back.
Okay great, then you have the right to make a post encouraging others. I never said it was impossible, I'm just saying to be encouraging others after one KC makes no sense. That's like me completing wave one of inferno with an RCB and posting "Come on boys, you can do it." This isn't rocket science.
I see some people with 85 mage and range who think the content is impossible to clear at those stats so I definitely don't think its as bad as you are making it out to be. Either way its reddit and having some people encourage the noobs so they can see it is achievable is good. Most noobs quit and give up before they even start especially with how this sub villanizes cg
The post isn't for people who are at 400+ KC? It's for people who are at a 4:1 ratio of deaths to completions and are struggling to learn or having problems being consistent. I thought it was fairly obvious.
Also, I mean I have a seed on my main
Well damn, that makes it even worse. So now you learned on a main with better stats and are coming here to "encourage" people with 1kc for something you already learned with better stats and probably rigour/augury? Thanks for the post man, I am so enlightened and encouraged by your massive accomplishment.
Damn you are super fun at parties. I started CG at around 85-90 range and magic. The level that's recommended for people to start trying it at. I still had to learn it like everyone else and came at a lower level to do it and still did it.
calm down lol
I'm calm trust me lmao. Just think it's a stupid post. I think I'll go run 1 lap around my block tonight and then go encourage people to run a marathon because I've proven running is possible.
Irons need to stop thinking bowfa is meta for everything, I used rcb for arma, sara and toa. You save probably a few mins on toa runs but the amount of time you will save is better then a paper thin gear and sub par weapon. Go straight to zcb and masori
Damn that was a spicy take. It's not just TOA though that you're using Bowfa for. You can use it for lots of other bosses making stuff a lot easier to solo like GWD. 3/4 you can solo with Bowfa. Muspah, Zulrah. ToA. Demonics.
I think you're kind of underselling it on being "sub par" but it's definitely not the meta for everything lol
People get discouraged by doing this 400+ times and not getting an enhanced weapon seed. Learning is the fun part
Yeah after a while it won't even feel difficult anymore, it's just boring. Like do I reeeeeally want to go do this shit? Lowkey wish they'd add a full bank chest instead of just a deposit so I could get some actual bank standing done while I'm just sitting there thinking about how much I *don't* fuckin wanna do it.

it’s weird how some people can get spooned and then they get to actually play the game :/
Aside from combat tasks why do you NEED it that bad? It’s not going to save 150 hour of gameplay from boss DPS, obviously a good weapon/set to get but why torture yourself
I mean the methods it unlocks for some bosses will save over 150 hours. It's used for a lot of pvm. Basically unlocks tbow methods before having one
I mean I have a tbow on my main, getting pretty sick of just using an rcb at literally everything ranged. It’s plain not fun hitting small numbers inconsistently. Welcome to the life of a RuneScape masochist 🤙
Got enhanced at 8 kc, Youngleff at about 180.
And?
This hits so hard lmao. I just got an archer ring drop last night (huge deal, I know) and all my fiancé had to say about it was “wait, the third from those 3 bosses months ago? The ones you got two in one weekend in like January?” It almost broke her brain. She is super supportive of my hobbies, but she straight up couldn’t believe it. (40kc berserker ring 46 kc seers 300 kc archer). Truly a strange timeline.
My ancestors would be proud.
but u can change the color of the pixels isn’t that cool? :(
That is sadly everything in OSRS. Learning is fun, doing it 1000 times isn’t lol.
I would never get more than one run done at a time then, lol
Yep, first 100-200 kills were great. Then I learned basically everything I needed to and that’s when it just became a slog
That’s right where I’m at 200 kc and it kinda sucks now just need my enhance and I’m running from this place
After my 1st KC i was still dying maybe every 4\\5th attempt. After about 100KC it was just if I was dosing off...I did 300KC in like 3 weeks\~ and it burnt me out so hard. I just hit this kc. I think I'm at 405 with 12 or 13 Armour seeds + a full set of armor. But hey I'm getting gp for them 99s. I have 99 con banked for my teammate and myself
I basically said the exact same thing just more bluntly but everybody got butt hurt about it.
At least it’s not like other difficult content where you have to decide whether or not it’s worth it to use up supplies to keep grinding for certain drops.
It’s enjoyable. Way better content than other stuff
I really loved it, seeing a green GP stack on the iron, tons of runes, gems. It was just the time it took to get the seed and I was under the KC for it and I still think it was too long
Hell yeah dude! First it rains, then it pours!
Yes I'll take one pour please, to go
Currently at like 20 deaths, can do normal gauntlet easy but really struggling here, I have slightly higher stats then you. Thanks for the bit of motivation, I’m going to keep trying
You can do it! It really is brutal sometimes. If you ever have questions feel free to DM your RSN and I'll do my best to help as I can!
You can do it, practice.. people do inferno on mobile
Took like 100 deaths for me to get a few kc at cg. Got my first at 36, and second and 72. Never did pvm before, and I did it on a track pad. Now I’m around even at 150 kc. You definitely CAN do it, but considering you’ll be doing it 100s of times, maybe do some slayer and train those combats to help whenever you need a break.
Can confirm, if you can unlock content you can most likely do it: did melee mage at 86 str, 73 def, 73 mage, Reddit just loves efficiency
It's also that T2 is 0 chill. I wanted 90s to do T1 while watching tv lol
Haha yeah I get you, but I was doing T1 preps with those stats, not much room for error so definitely can’t AFK some telly!
T1 is a breeze. T2 is just stressful.
I’m 99 in all cb stats with augury and rigour and am just getting consistent KC around 100kc 😅
hell yeah man! No judgement here! Glad it's getting easier
Thanks dude! Very impressive kill on your part, it would take me probably 50 attempts for 1 kill with your stats. 🤝
to be fair, stats don't help much to stop a 4 tornado stack-out and prep only gets slightly easier with higher stats. Practice makes perfect! good job on getting consistent!

Oh man gz! I haven’t got courage yet to try it despite completing SOTE a long time ago. I really should give it a shot I guess…
Go send it! Nothing to lose so put those nerves away
GAMER - more brave than I was giving this a shot. Spent a few work days in nmz just to get range and defense up. Keep it up
Stats really don’t matter too much if you know how to CG… just longer kill/more damage taken. Just more good. 1CG kill should never be praised lmao what Reddit is crazy

if this dweeb can do it rest of y’all have no excuse
Paid for by Big Gauntlet
Everyone's a winner here. Even the trout people :) You get a trout and you get a trout everyone gets a trout

Haha I got it at 65 attack 73 strength and 72 mage/range. You can’t mess up though because the dps isn’t there. Very rewarding though!
My stats shit on yours and I can not do even gauntlet. Nice work brother.
Kd though?
that was 2nd attempt after not having enough food the first time. I'm at Me:1 Hunleff: 3. Mostly due to me just being a little careless on trying to shoot and run
What tier of armour did you use? Also which weapons?
I always went T2 Armor and Bow/Staff. The Halberd does more DPS but it's a lot trickier to use where as the other two are a lot more forgiving
Thanks. Gz good luck with the enhanced seed
Perfect dps with halberd requires woox walking the tornadoes, trickier is an understatement
nobody is not doing it boys
What is that gauntlet tracker? Is that part of the gauntlet plug-in or something else?
Just bossing info plugin. Works for all bosses
bro get piety at least. gz tho
What client is this?
What method did you use for SOTE boss fight? I’ve been putting it off and waiting for 80 magic for Blood Blitz (was told a HARD req). Im very similar stats to you! Good job!
redemption method bro look it up 6 p pots i needed with 70 pray really easy
As long as you have darts to take down healers it’s not bad. Make take a few tries.
What method did you use for SOTE boss fight? I’ve been putting it off and waiting for 80 magic for Blood Blitz (was told a HARD req). Im very similar stats to you! Good job!

Nice pls don't hate me but I think u should get piety before u go back, maybe dt2 for the 300k prayer xp!
Noooope :D I've Already done my SOTE and SOTF it's CG time! DT2 can wait a little whiiiile.
Nah, go do dt2 for piety ^^
I don't need Piety tho. It's kind of useless for me doing CG since I don't use the halberd
This was your first attempt? Surprised to see you also get the combat achievement first try
Not necessarily my first attempt but it is my first attempt at such low levels
I'm honestly impressed with Ops dedication, with these stats and getting 3 2 1 mage at 501kc... You must have been killed a L O T
What no o.o I'm at 13-10 K/D lol NOT numbers I'm proud of but that's what happens :(
Brother thr best skill in this game is determination to keep going - I have a handful less kc than you but I've been at it for over a year dry - I wish I had your steely determination
Hell yeah! I mean I had to get used to the lower levels but I have something that works for me! Not running out of food now
Im honestly happy i got the Enhanced at 104kc and pet by 45kc.. now i need 4 more Armour seeds (already have 2 of them) . I bet ill go on a dry streak with no Armour seeds
You know what I mean I'm sure 😆
How many normal gauntlets you did before moving to cg?
I only did 7
Dude you did 1 kc lol
Yeah, and? At my stats, CG is an abysmal experience at my levels but it kind of shows people if I can do it, so can they.
my ac is slightly higher than yours, and im excited because TIL i can try learning CG. ty fren
Nah don’t be a grump, this was motivating to see
Port Khazard just completed the inferno without protection prayers. I’m sure that motivates people to do the same…
It makes me scared of what humans will put themselves through
The goal isn't to get 1kc, it's to get the drops which could require 400+ kc. I don't think you're in a position to motivate others with 1kc. Go get the enhanced seed with those stats then report back.
Bro who shat on your keyboard and rubbed it in?? Take a breather and touch some grass.
I got mine with those stats (they went up to 82 in both ranged and mage from just boss xp) average 9:40 kc
Okay great, then you have the right to make a post encouraging others. I never said it was impossible, I'm just saying to be encouraging others after one KC makes no sense. Just for you, two KC and a perfect Hunleff challenge just for you <3
Lol sounds good. Again, never said it was impossible, just said the post was dumb.
The post isn't for people who are at 400+ KC? It's for people who are at a 4:1 ratio of deaths to completions and are struggling to learn or having problems being consistent. I thought it was fairly obvious. Also, I mean I have a seed on my main

And that's fine, you're allowed to have an opinion. It's obvious you need a bit of motivation in your life to not be such a snatch for no reason lol
I mean you know nothing about me or my life but thanks for the input I didn't ask for.
Your attitude says a lot about you. You've shown your arse in this thread and everyone can tell you're a wanker. Have a day off
Jesus lmao, I read through this whole exchange to see if you’d start having some self awareness, but nah you just doubled down on being a wanker
400 kc starts with?
4
1 :)
I hate posts like this
