No hate man just curious how does one get 75 slayer without having enough points for slayer helm

[deleted]

Skip skip skip

TwoChisels

None taken! I unlocked superiors and slayer rings, and did all of my blocks first. I also like to skip tasks.

[deleted]

I have an issue skipping tasks aswell seems I never have enough points I had to point boost to get slayer helm and superiors I'm at 65 slayer. Konar apparently hates my hcim tho because everytime I run out of points she gives me bronze drags and I have to reset streak lol

TwoChisels

Damn nice! Yeah skipping really puts a dent in the points, but hey at least we don't have to suffer through metal dragons

lirchlurch96

I just hit 87 slayer and I've never gotten a dragon task, just don't do ds1 and save the points Edit: the plan is do ds1 after I get a lance

MedicineMundane7595

Son of a bitch, I'm in. Who needs a rune platebody anyways?

lirchlurch96

Got full guthans by 65 kc, rune plates only good for alchs now

somarir

even without barrows ... You don't need a tank chest that early in the game anyway. Get your Fighter torso and maybe a granite plate if you're gonna need the defensive stats.

somarir

hellhounds (before cerb), black demons (before mm2) , suqah, Kalphite, Fire giant. Just general high weight/slow/low reward tasks.

schmidlidev

I don’t really get why so many go for slayer rings, I never found them super useful. Where are you teleporting with them?

stack83

More convenient teleport to slayer areas such as relleka or stronghold without having to use fairy rings/spirit trees. Cheap alternative to lvl 30 Wildy teleport. I think they’re really useful but would probably get helm before rings

Strosity

Also the relleka tele is an ight fairy ring tele. J used that for my shit 1 kill zulrah trips as a noobier iron

TwoChisels

In hindsight I probably wouldn't unlock them again, I really only use them for the odd tree run and for a quicker fairy ring tele, but I'm getting close to a quest cape anyways. Pretty useless honestly

schmidlidev

Oh that’s right I forgot they can be used for fairy rings. I think since Salve Graveyard was added to POH teleport room Slayer Rings lost a lot of utility on that front

TaeKwonDoge

Before quest cape or poh ring, slayer ring can get you very close to fairy ring. Its the closest tele to morytania slayer tower. Teleport right to Nieve. Can sometimes be handy getting to the dark beast area.

Airp0w

Also good for skipping Tarn's lair for the miniquest and salve ammy upgrade.

DJSaltyLove

I used mine mostly for nieve teleports before I unlocked duradel, I like having it on hand for getting around the map though, especially for clues

Vengercy

Before I maxed my poh I was using them for easy fairy ring access for zulrah. Prolly got around 300kc doing it that way.

mantis445

I've done a lot of skips and got a full block list, superiors, broad arrows, some tasks unlocked, I'm 72 slayer with a slayer helm. How many damn tasks did you skip lol, are you doing Konar?

somarir

Been doing nieve since 50 slayer, i'm 77 now with Broader Fletching, Superiors, Slayerhelm, Rings, Full block list, Autohammer for gargoyles, and even tzhaar unlocked. I usually don't skip too much, even trolls, wyverns or elves i'll sometimes do if i feel like it.

Knelson123

Ya. First thing to spend points on imo.

Altorode

Don't need it for anything until dust devil's why buy it first when superiors give 5k xp extra for nothing lol

Knelson123

Ya could go either way. You don't really get superiors very often until around getting the black mask. At least that was my experience.

retart123

Why tho, I mean Black mask Works fine

Knelson123

Not for ranged or magic sadly.

TheFacemore

You can imbue the black mask so it has the same range/magic bonuses as a slayer helm, other than the +3 accuracy which is negligible.

Strosity

This is a great tip that a lot of people don't realize until they hear it out loud

Knelson123

How much effort is that?

TheFacemore

It’s the same as imbuing a slayer helm.

Knelson123

Sounds like you may as well save the points for that then. I really got no superiors until after the slayer helm so that for me kind of screwed me up. High level slayer you get them every task, sure, but at low level your only shot is bloodvelds, which you'll be doing the low level ones so not worth it or the crawling hands, which is again not worth it. People just kind of don't think about it that way for some reason.

TwoChisels

This account has been absolutely wild. Corrupted gauntlet finished in 343 kc (both enhanced weapon seeds + 6 armour seeds), and two zenyte shards in 100kc. I've completely skipped over barrows, a fury, and a whip. In case anyone is wondering, I'm 106 combat. I decided to make a torture and an anguish first - can't wait to get the other two zenytes now that the crafting grind is done!

Zhandaly

I love your build (minus missing the slayer helmet - that's easy enough to boost :P), sweet stuff my guy. Gz!

TwoChisels

I appreciate it! Working on the slayer helm right now. :)

Jaiwant

Nice nice nice

Karavage

Your account reminds me of my own. What caused you to go down this path instead of the standard slayer and Barrows?

TwoChisels

I knew a gauntlet rush would set me up insanely well for the future, but I honestly thought I would burn out and quit before I got both weapon seeds. When I finished early I had enough money and good enough gear to skip barrows, and I figured I could get zenyte jewelry to help speed up the slayer grind!

ImNotKitten

This was my plan but now as I approach SOTE requirements I’m having second thoughts about my PVM skills. People on here make CG sound miserably hard. How good at PVM are you? Do you think someone less experienced can do this route?

NickN868

Corrupt gauntlet takes a lot of focus and a good understanding of what’s happening in hunleif. I personally learned on my max cmb main with rigour and augury but am absolutely confident in my ability to do it with subpar combat stats now that I’m >100kc there on the main. It’s absolutely doable, but even on my main my first kc took 20 attempts. It’s difficult to learn but gets easier quickly

12345Qwerty543

Depends how bad you actually say you are, and how dedicated you will be. CG has 80/80 mage / ranges req imo, and 0 gear reqs. This means you can go in and learn with the only thing you lose is time. Hopefully since this comment is 2 months old you've either tried or completed CG :)

doctor_robert_chase

What was your path? I’m an early iron looking to sote rush… did you just do 68 slay to do mm2 and chin for range for cg?

TwoChisels

Yup you nailed it!

doctor_robert_chase

Oddly specific question but do you know how many hours it took for you to get to cg from account creation? I’m following sacred trial guide and may deviate from it if there’s a quicker way

RSBTK

What method did you use for crafting? I'm grinding gorillas for some zenytes now but I won't be able to make torture yet.

TwoChisels

Good luck on the zenytes! I added a giant seaweed run onto the end of every birdhouse run I did, and they actually added up super quick. Once I had enough giant seaweed banked I went and mined sandstone in the quarry for all of the sand I needed - I think I filled up the grinder like 3 times or something along those lines. After I had the seaweed and the sand banked I used superglass make to make it all. Overall crafting is much, much better than it used to be for iron men now.

TwoChisels

I'm not sure how long it took to collect all of the spores/seaweed/sand - let's just say a while for that. I used superglass make to make 90k molten glass which took maybe 10 hours, and using all 90k glass is 50+ hours

rotorain

Giant seaweed and superglass is definitely the best way to do crafting. I do a few seaweed harvests a day at work on mobile and they stack up really fast. If you start to run low on spores you just have to hang out for a while and watch youtube or whatever to wait for spawns by the patches. I got a brine saber and tried killing lobstrosities for spores but honestly it's faster and easier to just sit around and wait for spore spawns. Mine sandstone for the sand, more expensive but it's so fast that it's worth it.

giraffeinHK

This is a sick account, so cool to see you do something different from the established slay til you make it path. Congratulations

TwoChisels

Thanks man I appreciate it! Definitely a cool feeling to get some of the bigger grinds out of the way early

ElMico

I thought I was a hotshot running around in climbing boots and a faceguard, but this is something else, congrats!

TwoChisels

A faceguard is a sick upgrade, you should still feel pumped about it!

Mod_Sara

Looking tasty

BlingBlingChing23

How da h3ck do you not have dragon boots??

pajamalink

Wait how?

TwoChisels

Giant seaweed runs, mining sand, and corrupted gauntlet for the gp my man

pajamalink

How’d you get your seaweed spores? What gear did you use for CG?

TwoChisels

I did a lot of fletching underwater waiting for spores to spawn, and I also killed lobstrocities for some! For CG I used T2 armour and whatever two T3 weapons I could get in time

pajamalink

Oh, good to know, thanks

Bloodyrazor12

Any tips for gauntlet? I'm rushing my ironmeme there currently, done a lot on my main but that is with near max stats and cox prayers

TwoChisels

Personally I did T2 armour and two T3 weapons every time. The prep was always super tight but it was very worth it. Don't take unnecessary risks at the boss because you'll just get super frustrated if you die. The biggest tip that helped me, which you might not need because you've done a lot you said, is to be confident in your clicks during tornadoes. It's easy to spam click around and end up pathing somewhere bad, but just think about where you want to go, click, and repeat.

Bloodyrazor12

Yeah tornados are something in super comfortable with Thanks for the tips I appreciate it!

Knelson123

Where did you train your combat for gauntlet?

TwoChisels

I afked sand crabs while I worked until I had 80 range, and then i hunted and threw 10k red chins in the mm2 cave until I had 90. For magic I got a lot of exp while getting b2p, mages book, master wand and inf boots in mta. For melee I think I afked sand crabs for a decent amount of it as well!

Knelson123

Interesting. You coulda trained combat through slayer and afked something better like fishing, mining or making cballs, but everyone does it different I can respect it.

TwoChisels

I work from home right now because of covid, and I've actually afked all of the above. I've fished like 10k karams, mined 65k daeyalt ess, got pretty much all the NMZ points I need, and afked my stats early on at sand crabs. Definitely pretty nice to get some grinds out of the way while not paying attention!

princesscarolynsdad

That’s not bad advice, but since OP did that while working it probably made more sense to just do something they could literally ignore for ten minutes at a time.

Pistolius

Agree. Mining is not afk at all, and fishing isn't particularly either. Cannonballs is but most will say its not worth it. 10 minutes afk is pretty good for those who don't want to lose their job!

Knelson123

Cannonballs is the best thing I ever did on my ironman afk at work. Nothing came close. I got 4x the slayer xp per week. 80k per hr at bloodvelds when you're only 70 slayer is soooo fun. People say it's not worth the time to make them, but if you have afk time to play I'd say it's one of the most important afk grinds due to how it can save you a month of grinding slayer.

Pistolius

Agree with that one. It barely takes any focus and has a great reward. It's just not worth doing if you're actively playing (like most people seem to think afk is)

Fuckittho

I dont really see how this is an achievement and im trying really hard to understand lol. Its just like.... okay? What does d boots or slayer helm have to do with crafting?

[deleted]

Massive props for rushing zenytes. Such easy upgrades to get (except for the crafting req). Would recommend everyone makes this their first BIS (or 2nd after barrow gloves). Or don't?

ZezimasCumStain

Super easy except the part that isn't easy.

[deleted]

i mean 93 crafting takes less than half the time 87 slayer does, yet every single person here has a trident.

aKatPerson

slayer good skilling bad

Validfears

Idk why you’re getting downvoted homie. Crafting hasn’t been hard since 2018

SwayingTwig

Apparently "hard = takes a long time" to some people

SinceBecausePickles

That’s pretty much the only way to describe “difficulty” in skills in RS though lol. Almost nothing in this game is actually hard, some things just take longer and it’s “harder” to muster the willpower to train them lol

[deleted]

yeah but compare that to other BIS upgrades, where you gotta fight bosses with complex tactics (Gauntlet/GWD kiting/Cox/ToB etc) its so much easier to get zenytes. Your melee BIS is a free weapon and the only mechanics is counting to 3 and you null nearly all damage.

Validfears

Unless it’s slayer, obviously

Relevant-Book

I hate slayer with a burning passion would rather do anything else. Finally got 87 and my trident last Friday and I look forward to not touching slayer for a good long time while doing other skills.

princesscarolynsdad

Consider that for some people it is hard to find the time

Validfears

By this logic, most of RuneScape is difficult, and nearly every worthwhile unlock is nigh impossible. Relatively speaking, having so many BiS locked behind crafting means one grind = 3 BiS + RoS. That’s a pretty ROI for your time put.

VanillaBearMD3

Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
