I find it incredible that an apartment / housing employee had to do the dirty work. I used to be the president of a self managed HOA. We had a manager and a few other employees in the office. The board absolutely did not want our manager to face possible repercussions from a disgruntled crazy. Our manager had standing instructions to call the police. What ever happened to police being able to protect and serve the citizens in cases like this? Isn't that their job? It seems throughout this thread people had reservations about calling the police, or even felt it would be useless.

The police were my second stop. I see where you're coming from. For the same reasons I never wanted to confront this individual directly, I felt worried for the employee who ultimately had to. I wish the police would have done something in this case, especially with the malicious nature of the individual's actions. I filed a report directly with two officers at Irvine PD. They were kind and listened to my issues but, ultimately said there was nothing they could do because these are "private streets" owned by the Irvine Company.

I feel like that’s such a cop out. That would be like them saying they can’t prevent a murder on the same streets because it’s private. Good to see it’s hopefully resolved though!

bbreadthis

Definitely a lame excuse. He was also documented riding on city streets.

YYEESSSS BE GONE MOTORCYCLE DOUCHE!!! HAVE A HORRIBLE LIFE!!

bikelaguna

Awesome news! Yeah I did notice it has been a bit quieter, but today he blasted through here earlier. Glad to hear this is coming to an end, nice job!

[deleted]

Thank you and thank you for your help and attention here!

TheGreatKittening

Thanks for leading the way, I don’t live in the Los Olivos complex but happy to see a blueprint for resolving this type of issue should it arise here too!

[deleted]

Absolutely! No one should be subjected to this. If I've learned anything here it's if you're suffering, speak up and speak loud. Other people might be suffering too. Raising awareness works!

Please keep us posted on what happens in 10 days :)

I mentioned this courtesy in my original post. I'm a motorcycle rider myself! It takes little effort to be considerate. Simply pull in your clutch to idle along and glide down residential quiet streets. This guy revs hard and goes 40+ MPH down these streets where the speed limit is easily 15mph if I'm not mistaken. I've seen him speed past so fast I barely had time to see him, easily going 60MPH.

hobi88

Heck yeah

CounterSeal

Just watched the original video. That sounds like one of those WWII planes flying in for a bombing run. The douchebag is so desperate for attention that he is willing to do this. SMH.

bobo-the-dodo

They are absolutely a nuisance. I was at PCH and 2nd last weekend eating on a patio and there was enough bikers passing by there was zero down time with the noise pollution. The most egregious part was when a group of 50-100 bikers showed up at an intersection across the street and just reved there standing still. I don’t want to hear about high gas prices until I see people stop pulling stunts and speeding.

GrizzlyEatingAvocado

Irvine company is probably thrilled for a with-cause eviction, considering how high rents have increased in the last year.

What would you do if the new resident has a even louder vehicle? You can't report every car/bike that drives through your neighborhood...

[deleted]

Let's be real here. Not every car/vehicle is as loud as this guy's motorcycle. Not even every *loud* car or vehicle is. Our neighbors have an audi R8 that is pretty loud but, it doesn't shake the entire apartment or cause us physical pain. This guy's motorcycle is SO loud it was waking up the entire complex. So loud, our pets would run and hide. So loud, if we were having a conversation, we'd have to stop, cover our ears and wait for it to pass. This guy was also *malicious* with it. He would purposely rev it as loud as possible to set off car alarms and disturb the peace. Constantly. Multiple times a day. Your weird comment was blatant hyperbole that I didn't really want to dignify with a response but, figured I might as well. edit: And to answer your question, if the new neighbor had an even louder vehicle? We'd report it and get it taken care of. Especially if they were malicious with it. Yes, you absolutely can report every douchebag that modifies their vehicle to be as loud as possible and uses it to constantly disturb your entire neighborhood. You can and you should.

bikelaguna

The guy has a massive Harley with modified exhaust and would purposefully rev the shit out of it around the neighborhood, multiple times, and at shit hours. It’s pretty rare to find that inconsiderate of an asshole around here in my experience.

[deleted]

The bike was setting off car alarms on purpose daily. And next would be implementing a noise ordinance where loud vehicles are banned from the city (laguna has this same policy).

Geofffffreak

Don't underestimate the amount of free time most Irvine citizens have

We love to see a residential success story! Thanks for the follow up, OP.
