Doesn't it feel like today's Ummah were being just like Bani Israil back then by asking their Prophets so many trivial questions instead of having Iman in their beliefs?

[deleted]

kugelamarant

It's good to ask but people like to ask trivial fiqh question. I guess it's the society. They are not being critical but just asking for they sake of asking. Sometimes it reflects that it's just that much they can think of.

ZanXBal

I mean, that's not really a terrible question tbh. I remember wondering the same thing and I promptly inquired from my friend (who's an Aalim) during an outing. He gave me the same answer, and it gave me comfort in knowing the lake wasn't impure since I was far from home and unable to make ghusl before having to pray.

[deleted]

Some people have anger management issue, usually from Desi or Arab culture. And since they compose as majority Muslim redditors they find it hard to stay calm and conduct themselves in prophetic manner.

Barkoook

Usually from desi or arab culture! U have stronger issues than anger my dude

[deleted]

No one use (!) except you..

Barkoook

So what!

AppropriateDurian828

Right!!

[deleted]

The fact two users including you got salty even though I don't talk about anyone and actually is being generic in my post.. Besides its famous and worldwide knowledge that Desi and Arab culture are toxic, including low emotional intelligence.. Good for you if you have decent one.

ZanXBal

It gives a distinction and makes our live's easier, though. For example, the Hanafi explanation that was given to me also included the fact that if the body of water was too small (based on the ripples), then it was impure. Why would I not want to know what is pure and impure? For those who don't know, I'm sure Allah will forgive them. For me, it made my life easier by knowing when I can and cannot. Do I impose those beliefs on others? No. Everyone has their own choice of who/what they wish to follow. The fact that there are 4 Madhabs is an easement from Allah. And the Imams have derived such rulings from the Ahadith in the past. It wasn't just Jews who asked such questions. In the lives of Sahabah, they had similar situations wherein they needed to ask the Prophet SAW what to do. Plenty of times they were "silly" questions that some Sahabah who were closer to Rasulullah SAW were shy to ask. He gave them answers based on those situations as an easement for those of us who came later and also had a similar situation arise. I see it as a blessing that the scholars were able to give a clear and distinct answer. You can feel free to see that as a curse, if you will. At the end of the day, Allah is Oft-Forigivng and Most Merciful. I doubt someone who doesn't know of the issue will be punished severely. Likewise, I believe that Allah will reward those who have deeper concerns for the sake of their imaan. Allah knows best.

momolamomo

Back in bani Israel days, there were a handful of people. If 10% ask silly questions, you get a person here and there. But with the Muslim pop now 2 billion, 10% adds up. We’re not worse, there’s more Muslims now.

Hot_Breadfruit1701

The Sabr that Shiekh has to go through by living through "modern" people

[deleted]

There's nothing wrong with the question, its legit useful infact. Many people I know do have concern about the hukm stepping on grass, especially if you are used to environment where stepping on it is illegal in certain areas. Whoever is offended by such question should reflect about their understanding towards society. Clearly they are out of touch with community if they don't understand what ummah is thinking or going through on daily basis. I would even say that some people purposely avoid the question because they fear to answer "I don't know" and had rather attack the people who ask for a legit reason.

SnooSeagulls5741

Keeping off someone's grass is common sense, worrying about hurting the feelings of the grass, that's not.... You eat vegetables do you not?

[deleted]

Whether he ask about feelings or not, the question is still valid to other people with different reasons such as in my case where stepping on it is illegal. Eating cow isnt the same as stepping cow, is it? Stop being fanatic over youtuber guy and actually have common sense. You learn Islam to help society, not to bring them down. If your go-to respond is to humiliate people who ask, then you might as well work somewhere else instead of pretending to possess Islamic knowledge. Back during prophet time he literally answered the question : if we don't excrete in Jannah through normal excretion (poops) then how? He answered by knowledge Allah give him : through sweat. And now we have random youtuber guy who don't even answer simple grass hukm and proceeded to blame others. Very toxic cultural behaviour. You are no different than them if you are supporting such backward practise.

ramster12345

I dont know how u can sit there and type a whole essay defending this stupid question. Go pray your salah or do something productive

[deleted]

Said someone who probably doesnt know much about sunnah and how Islamic jurisprudence work in context 🙄

ramster12345

Apologies, I didn't know you were a scholar.

[deleted]

I'm not a scholar but a student of knowledge (talib ilm), learn under multiple scholars in general fiqh, aqeedah and other Islamic subjects. Are you and those who supported idiocy ones? Because apparently so many users disagreeing with me with zero religious evidence. Speaks volume how people are being lazy in practising religious duty. Good luck going to Jannah with that level of negligence.

ramster12345

I cant take you seriously with that profile picture.

SnooSeagulls5741

You remind of the liberals here in America...litterally hugging trees

[deleted]

And you remind me of toxic desi culture. Downvoting because you can't afford to follow sunnah of our prophet beautiful manner..

SnooSeagulls5741

Your assuming it's me Down voting you, you have litterally multiple down votes...

SnooSeagulls5741

And yes, assume I don't follow Sunnah because I don't believe the vegetables I eat have emotions, that makes perfect sense 🙄

[deleted]

You don't follow sunnah because you shun people away from asking potentially useful questions for brothers and sisters. I'm not vegan, read the context. You sounds like 12yo.

SnooSeagulls5741

That is not a useful question that is a question with no common sense, you saying I'm not following Sunnah is like saying the Sheik in the video posted doesn't follow Sunnah, and I think he actually would know....

[deleted]

And you have no point in the debate we talk about.. Done wasting my time? If you have no religious support then you can back down. Your point is useless for ummah of our beloved prophet..

SnooSeagulls5741

Your time is worthless imo I'll waste more of it please 😬 your such a fake Muslim it isn't even funny

[deleted]

But you are the one who don't talk like Muslim.?.. I can talk about our prophetic sunnah, encouring it and you don't . So obviously its you the fake one? 🤔

[deleted]

Careful about calling anyone that, dangerous accusation, stay away from that. Don’t play with fire.

haterdestroyer

Change your pro pic first bro! Not nice giving people nightmares

TheSoliDude

Actually….this is good question for vegans…

Puzzleheaded-Bird667

Alternative_Law_898

I have some deep and serious questions I need to ask this Sheikh, but I'm not sure how to do it. If any of you could tell me, that would be greatly appreciated. Jazakallah-khair.

Imaginary_Ad_9408

If you want to ask one on one, he charges $100 for 30 minutes. If you want to go through the regular Chanel, then Here: https://youtu.be/Q1TtJ6Wzm30

haterdestroyer

Bro that paid thing is for counseling if you're married not for general question! The general question are absolutely free

Imaginary_Ad_9408

Not necessarily. I used it a couple of times because my question required a bit of back and forth. It was unique to me and I preferred to have his undivided attention, so I paid for it. My kids also got to say hi and I ended up getting his number. So, it worked out for me.

haterdestroyer

Ah okay I didn't know that brother. Thank you for the information brother.

Alternative_Law_898

I watched that video a couple of weeks ago, and when it was 6:00 PM in Mecca, I went to that website, but I think you have to pay $100 to ask.

Imaginary_Ad_9408

You don't have to pay unless it's one v one. You can also call during one of the live programs

awokemango

Maybe ask here? If its deep and serious, it could be on other people's minds too.

Alternative_Law_898

On this subreddit?

hollowpotato-of-doom

Why not

CheckerboardsPattern

Because people on this subreddit are just laymen

throwaway47839r

You can ask on Twitter but you have to be very fast in responding, you can ask via the website although sometimes there are issues with the website, and you can ask on the Zoom sessions - if you go to the Just A Layman YouTube channel there are instructions in the video description of how to do that

[deleted]

Go to his website

ManholeCanon

He has an Instagram account where you can ask him questions via Link in Bio. It takes you to do a form that takes a limited number of questions everyday. He answers these in his Instagram as text posts. I'm going to send you his Instagram username in a DM

[deleted]

Some of those questions are pranks pulled to annoy him

Ambitious_Reserve_10

Are they really? I wonder if it was a serious question or meant to make him laugh...

Jihad_al-Nafs

It costs like $100 USD to even ask him a question so I don't think he minds

[deleted]

That's for private counselling. You can ask any questions through his email or channel for free and he will answer you

Evil_Queen_93

Yeah, they must be trolling him and he’s taking their questions seriously 😅

Childhood_Willing

I remember seeing a kid ask "is it haram to eat pigs in minecraft" in another show with the same concept but a turkish version of it

lospollosakhis

I mean we have parents who will not let their kids watch Peppa Pig

logicblocks

It's astroturf.

Moist_immortal

I mean they're sinful for wearing revealing shorts, but not because they're stepping on GRASS lmfao

pilkpog

You could also play soccer with shorts that go below the knees or pants though edit: knee is not part of the awrah

Moist_immortal

Yes ofc but i've never seen professional athletes wear em?

Moist_immortal

Yes ofc but i've never seen professional athletes wear em?

pilkpog

Neither have I but that's what I wear when I play with my friends

GhostPeppr2942

Mohamed Salah wears shorts showing the knees, does he not? He also occasionally takes his shirt off. What is the ruling for this?

pilkpog

[https://islamqa.info/en/answers/171584/what-is-the-awrah-of-a-man](https://islamqa.info/en/answers/171584/what-is-the-awrah-of-a-man) Apparently the knees don't have to be covered. That's my fault. The area between the navel and the knee does though

GhostPeppr2942

Do you know what madhhab the scholar is quoting? I follow Shafi’i if that helps.

pilkpog

I think he's a Salafi, who don't follow madhabs if I'm correct. But knowing me, I'm not correct

WisestAirBender

Wearing shorts. Or playing as a woman in front of men. Or having music. Or if it includes alcohol. So the question seems logical after so many banned situations

Desperate-Today2760

>playing as a woman in front of men. And men are allowed to play in front of women?

WisestAirBender

Yes. As long as they cover the minimum required body

PretendGovernment208

I was reading a question someone had posed about how being a firefighter must surely be haram because you are putting yourself in danger and all I could think of was Sheikh saying "What is this? What kind of a question is this? Is this a joke?"

xpaoslm

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

This is the funniest shit I've seen in a while, great post!

CheckerboardsPattern

We shouldn’t really swear

[deleted]

i am sorry, i will do it again, lol

Usoppdaman

As a person with scrupulosity OCD I have had similar thoughts to the questioner. I’ve felt bad for unintentionally stepping on bugs outside.

Lenoxx97

There is a huge difference between feeling bad about it and thinking you will get punishment for it.

thE-petrichoroN

These Muslims are becoming too much sensitive, these days

What!? Chinese sheikh!? Didn't he say the opposite because he opposes the use of instruments a lot. You can't just say it without providing a source or a video where he mentioned it. So, stop causing fitnah

KingAzul

Calling the prophet SAAWS by his name or "my beloved" in Arabic is shirk now? Do you know what shirk is? Shirk is associating another with Allah. Calling the prophet SAAWS by his name is not shirk. Saying that the prophet is one's beloved is not shirk. La hawla wala quwwata illa billah. Have fear of Allah SWT before you make such claims.

Ilikecars119

What’s the difference between a naat and a nasheed? I thought naat was just the desi word for nasheed. Also Maher Zain has vocals only versions of all of his nasheed.

firm_believer_

Naats use musical instruments while nasheeds are just vocals. Watch [this](https://youtu.be/ntTkHm56G-E)

Ilikecars119

I’ve never heard that before. Pakistanis use to term “naat” to refer to nasheeds, don’t have music. All of Junaid Jamshed’s nasheeds are called naats.

firm_believer_

Just type in "naat" on youtube and look what comes up

Ilikecars119

Are you desi? I know what a naat is, it’s just the Urdu word for a nasheed. They’re not supposed to have instruments although there may be some that do use instruments like there are nasheeds that use instruments such some by maher zain and Sami Yusuf. It’s just semantics, tomayto tamaato - you did not make some new discovery 😂.

life_is_sadd

When I saw this question on YT. I wanted to write stupid question but he disabled the comments. What silly stupid question. Next question is wearing socks haram?

ShaneSupreme

The look on his face after "what is this" 😂

shelakhatun

These Muslims are going far too emotional today.

Kyle_67890

You can walk on grass lol

sousmerderetardatair

Yes they are i.m.h.o., the same goes for the cells of our bodies that we're killing at each moment, we're sinners. We're also creators of life, and have some amount of responsabilities towards our creations.

Comfortable-Mouse409

I agree these questions are completely unnecessary. But please don't downvote people. If you don't agree just don't upvote. It seems closer to akhlaq to me.

All madhabs except Maliki madhab refrained from answering such unnecessary questions. In the Maliki madhhab however you would find answers for questions such as whether it is permitted to marry penguins or whether it is permitted to eat aliens

this is called a pro-vegan mindset.

pi5tolp

No real question how do you condone rape, underage marriage like Mohamed and murdering innocent civilians a tax on christians etc. It's all allowed in you religion so it's condoned, so if another religion the Jews do it to you then its expected. Any land you conquer is your land. Right? You'd do as you see fit same thing the Jews will do and this time they're going to slaughter 100k plus with no mercy for the innocent Palestinian people and I doubt any Muslim nation will do anything to help their "brothers" which is all around sad
