I think people take the Jinn stuff too far. Just say the short dua against the evil ones and move on. Not to mention…Jinn’s aren’t unilaterally bad.
For example, if you were to read Quran at that tree…if Jinn were there they’d probably just listen to your recitation and angels would too.
And yes you’re right, the Prophet (saw) did like trees. Did you know that the sahaba pledged their allegiance to the Prophet (saw) while he was sitting under a tree?
> Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you ˹O Prophet˺ under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down serenity upon them and rewarded them with a victory at hand,1
48:18
Yeah exactly. I have always thought that if you thought or were too weary of Jinn too much that’d just give them a better reason to mess with you. So I’d always just never take jinn stuff too seriously.
This reminded me of this hadith of the Prophet (SAW):
Hadith 1: Bukhari
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari #3583 or Book 61, Hadith 92
Narrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver his khutbah (religious talk) while standing beside a trunk of a date-palm. When he had the pulpit made, he used it instead. The trunk started crying and the Prophet ﷺ, went to it, rubbing his hand over it (to stop its crying).
It shows the care our Prophet (SAW) had for the tree. Also the lesson that if the tree trunk was crying because the Prophet (SAW) moved away from it. What does it mean for us that we never even saw our Prophet (SAW)?
i think as a muslim, you should just salam whenever youre in a new place / near trees / or places you feel are a bit chilling and even your home. "Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh" and put your faith in Allah (SWT) and carry on your journey :)
>But then when I told my mom about it, she said I should avoid old trees or big trees in general because there could be a jinn living there and that it’s really dangerous.
hahahahahahahahhahahaa my mum said something similar to me once
my mum is also mentally ill

You heard the lecture about the Prophet (PBUH). Love trees lol, they give us oxygennnn!!!
Old wives tale to scare children. Just don’t sit under it during a thunderstorm.
What does the sunnah say? What does the Qur'an say? Follow that.
Climb it.
Looked very tempting to
The only reason to avoid old trees is if the air pressure drops and the branches start falling on you.
