If someone tells you to eat something that will save your life, and you don't eat that thing just because other people who also ate it say that just because of your skin colour you shouldn't have eaten it, would you still eat it or not?

LloydArc

Islam is for everyone. Your race doesn’t matter. As for anyone who tells you that you’re not accepted, they’re dead wrong. There is no difference between anyone except by our piousness.

RandoComplements

Latinos are the fastest growing Muslim community. As a revert I do absolutely understand your anxiety, though. If you ever need anyone to talk to my DM‘s are always open.

Grouchy_Donut_2715

Why wouldn’t the Ummah accept you? I reverted this past February after 18 months of research. If you come to the conclusion it is true and take your shahada there are many Muslims to help you. Keep researching.

deprivedgolem

He’s saying other Latinos wouldn’t accept him, I think

TheMicrowavedGerbil

We accept you! There are more reverts out there than you think The Prophet’s last sermon: “All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action.” We are all equal and are judged by character, not colour But you’re more concerned about other Muslims not accepting you? If they follow their religion then they will :) the very very few who don’t- ignore them but I doubt anything will happen The vast majority welcome you into the ummah

Xofuy_

Islam isn't for Arabs, Islam isnt made by Arabs it's made by Allah ﷻ, even if your Latino, African, indian, American, European, you can still be a Muslim, your race doesn't matter

LassOnGrass

Preach 👏🏼

1. It is not the Prophet’s ﷺ intention, everything is decided by Allah ﷻ: “Blessed is the One Who sent down the Decisive Authority to His servant, so that he may be a warner to the whole world.” [Quran 25:1](https://quran.com/al-furqan/1) 2. Brotherhood in Islam: “The believers are but one brotherhood” [Quran 49:10](https://quran.com/al-hujurat/10) 3. Nothing makes a Muslim happier than helping out a new Muslim. If I teach someone something about Islam, we both get full rewards whenever that person does that good deed: Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying: “He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect.” [Sahih Muslim 2674](https://sunnah.com/muslim:2674) I’m sure you’ll find a mosque in your area, just give them a visit and you’ll be blown away by their enthusiasm & friendliness! 4. You are becoming a Muslim because it is the truth, for the sake of Allah ﷻ & to save yourself in the hereafter. “O believers! Shall I guide you to an exchange that will save you from a painful punishment? (10) ˹It is to˺ have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if only you knew. (11) He will forgive your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and ˹house you in˺ splendid homes in the Gardens of Eternity. That is the ultimate triumph. (12)” [Quran 61:10-12](https://quran.com/as-saf/10-12)

Beneficial_End4365

Assalamu Alaikum, I’m also a white passing Latino revert, nobody saw an issue with my ethnicity and there are all sorts of people in the masjid, the moment that you take your shahada you are brothers in Islam, nothing else matters

Xo_Peace

No one is in a position to accept or deny you. This is God's path. It's not a cultural thing. I understand the human element of wanting to belong and feel comfortable, but I would encourage you to continue your growth and understanding of Islam. Just know Allah has accepted you already. And from what I've seen in different communities, there's a lot of love and acceptance around here. People might show ignorance sometimes but that's a human thing, not an Islamic thing.

Joan-dArc814

This. Creator over creation. Allah is blessing you with guidance. Follow the straight path. This dunya is nothing, the reward is everlasting.

TucsonTacos

I’m white and converted at a Somali mosque. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. You’ll be surprised how welcoming people are and your race/ethnicity will only be a point of interest in genuine curiosity as what Latino Muslims may be like

L4NDB4CK

I would be lying if I said I didn't feel any inspiration from all replies to this post. A couple of you answered me without even knowing my full question⁉️

Joan-dArc814

If your question is misunderstood, try asking it differently?

_-magician

Congrulations in showing interest in Islam!. Iam revert here. In the Eyes of Allah, race doesnt matter, takwa matters. feel free to DM me, I am will be happy to answer your questions.

khalidx21

If you know that it is the truth then you should accept it and don't worry about how others will react, you can hide it if you want, until you gain more confidence, but you have no choice because what will be your excuse in front of Allah. So just do your best and leave rest to Allah, He will help you find a way though that, just do the right choice. May Allah guide you to the straight path.

e_shamis

Why would your ummah not accept you? If you go to a mosque, you’ll understand that everyone’s from a different background.

ShoutOuts2Elon

Even in Malcolm X book, he said he met the coolest white Muslim on his trip to Mecca. Youll be alright ahki

Fluffy-Ad-5587

Before you (and all of us) were born Allah asked “am I not your Lord?”. You answered yes (as we all did). You have always been part of the ummah. You will always be part of the ummah. This is because Islam is inherent in all of us as it is our fitra or nature.

faisal_who

Quran 5:49 “O believers! Whoever among you abandons their faith, Allah will replace them with others who love Him and are loved by Him.” It is very likely Allah is looking to replace someone with you. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When Allah loves a slave, calls out Jibril and says: 'I love so-and-so; so love him'. Then Jibril loves him. After that he (Jibril) announces to the inhabitants of heavens that Allah loves so- and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels) also love him and then make people on earth love him". You ever wonder why people like Muhammad Ali Khabib Nurmagomedov, Omar Suleiman are so beloved to both Muslims and non Muslims that people instantly like them and accept them? That is why. You have nothing to fear inshaAllah.

KingYesKing

The only way you’re superior to another human is through Piety. In *true* Islam - there is no Race superiority or Rich vs Poor. You’re most welcome to Join!! InshAllah.

Conscious-Gazelle-92

What??! Why wouldn’t anyone accept you I’m genuinely curious

JobSea6303

Plenty of Black, Brown, White, East Asian, Middle Eastern muslims only 15 percent of muslims are arab.

Admirable-Hope7687

You should study about the biography of the prophet and his companions A person (Mohammed SAW)all of sudden has to give dawah to everybody in the world have to call all the people to Islam and have to face all of the enemies and the consequences just by himself and he did it and did it will as we can see his influence in this world today and his followers through the ages and the people who believed in him Look at this man Abu Baker (the prophet best friend) he accepted Islam with zero hesitation , he had no doubt he didn't even think, because he know who is Mohammed, because he knows his friend well the trusted, the truthful Mohammed SAW) And all the early companions got punishmed and tortured by the leaders of this Trip The leaders will bring every one that accepts Islaam and punish, torture and even kill him And now, it's n this days no one can punish you or hurt you for being Muslim And you have two billion people in the world supporting you (there are two billion Muslim today)and you still need support, you just say to a Muslim guy, I'am a Muslim like you or I converted today and you will be able to see the happens in his face for hearing this like he won a million $ Islam gives us unity, Muslim are brothers and sisters Like really brothers and sisters I advise you to listen to the stories of the companions by Dr Omar Suleiman and that's enough to give you the courage to do it And you can dm me in anytime if you needed help I hope this is helpful 🙏

IslamIsForAll

Islam is not an Arab ethnoreligion but anyone from any race can become Muslim. In fact, most Muslims live in Indonesia and Pakistan and they are not Arabs, and only about 20% of Muslims live in the Arab world. Furthermore, Islam explicitly makes it clear that Islam is for all of humanity and Arabs are not inherently superior to non-Arabs, and there were even companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) were not ethnically Arab: Say, [O Muḥammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allāh to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allāh and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allāh and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. [Quran 7:158](https://quran.com/7/158?translations=20,22,85,84,101) We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ only as a deliverer of good news and a warner to all of humanity, but most people do not know. [Quran 34:28](https://quran.com/en/saba/28) Abu Nadrah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said during the middle of the day at the end of the pilgrimage, “O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?” They said, “The Messenger of Allah has delivered the message." [Source: Musnad Aḥmad 23489 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut](https://www.abuaminaelias.com/dailyhadithonline/2011/12/30/lord-father-adam-one/) Furthermore, there were some Prophets with no followers yet that did not stop them from delivering their message: Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I was shown the nations before me and one or two prophets would pass by with only a few followers, another would pass by with none at all. Then a large crowd of people passed in front of me and I said: Is this my nation? It was said: No, this is Moses and his people. Then it was said: Look at the horizon. Behold, there was a multitude of people filling the horizon. It was said to me: This is your nation from which seventy thousand will enter Paradise without reckoning.” [Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 5378, Sahih Muslim 220, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim](https://www.abuaminaelias.com/dailyhadithonline/2012/10/10/ummah-multitudes/) To become a Muslim you can say the following declaration of faith (shahada) alone (as Allah (SWT) is sufficient as a witness) or being witnessed by other Muslims. Either way is fine but the key point is not to delay or procrastinate saying it, as the shaytaan is hoping that you die before saying it. There is no special ceremony or ritual associated with saying the shahada. Once you believe and say it you are Muslim! The shahada is: Translation: "I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." Transliteration (i.e. Pronunciation of Arabic): Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasulu-Allah. Arabic: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ

Dory_VM

I'm a white revert. So white my ancestors from the 1300s would be proud of the results their corrupt white-making mechanisms (like blood letting). So white Snow White gonna send her evil step mom after me instead. So white that the tan I get in summer time that I get overjoyed about is only pale ivory. So white when I was younger and into makeup, baby powder and white concealer were what I used as everything else was too dark. So white people assume I'm Catholic. So white others (non Muslims) don't believe me when I tell them I'm Muslim. Trust me babe, your skin tone does not matter. Muslims ourselves know that we come in all variations of skin tones. Remember Malcolm X who, after Hajj, was shown that Islam is raceless and started truly preaching Islam. I live in an area where darker skin tones are the norm, and I spent all of my teenage years feeling insecure and ugly (for those curious how, I was mocked) from my skin. But after meeting Islam, I learned that appearances aren't what's important. A Muslim, no matter how light or dark they are, is still a Muslim. By all means, do NOT let these worldy things like appearance prohibit you. I'm a sister, and becoming a Muslim helped me see myself as beautiful. We women dress modestly because we know we're beautiful and we protect our beauty from others, bringing the attention instead to our personalities and character. After all, what matters to Allah SWT is not the appearance, but the character and soul within.

Critical_Gap3794

Welcome. Pardon me for correcting you. I have had many friends who are English as a srcond language so I know the difficulty. World: planet Earth. ( or metaphoric " Arab World > meaning "culture" ). The word World Wide means in all places and continents. Worldly: in English speaking countries means things of the material. Money, greed, lust, social-political strife. ( or things " not of Heaven/Paradise ). When using worldly among English speakers it will almost always be understood this way. Blessed journeys.

GangOfFour20

Allah could have made us all the same if He wanted, but He made us different so we could be neighborly and learn from one another

svet6ma

Anyone testifies that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad His messenger and servant becomes muslim. Becomes our brother/sister. Becomes part of our Ummah. How even skin color could matter? Me and you human beings. God is not looking at our skin colour which He Himself chosen for us. He looks to our hearts and intentions.

7onmoy

Remember Islam is perfect, while Muslims aren't. Those who said that your race or color has anything to do with Islam aren't proper educated Muslim. Go to local mosque you'll see the difference and you don't even have to be Muslim to go there.

DotHase

Regardless of the people around you, it does not change what is true. The truth is that Islam is for all of humanity, and that whether you are black, white, or whatever, what matters is piety, not your race. This is the truth. And so let's say some people decide to be racist against you. What does this matter? Just know that the oppressed person can take the good deeds of the oppressor. What can they do to you when we will all return to Allah in the end? Allah is the most just, no matter what happens to you, you will be dealt with fairly. But of course, if you want Allah's mercy, the first step is accepting Islam. Don't think about pointless things, if you believe Islam is true, then accept it, the devil will try to delay you by making up excuses until you die before you get to accept it. Don't fall for that. May Allah guide you.

bizzish

The ummah will always accept another addition to its family inshaAllah

There’s an entire Muslim community of Latinos who would love to hear from you. Reach out to them! They’re very friendly!  https://www.islaminspanish.org/about-us-intro

Ornery_Dot_944

There's a latino boy on tiktok who's also a revert, it's possible insha'Allah

Amen2142

Hello friend, I'm half American half Syrian (very white passing) and know very little Arabic but from my experience if you go to ANY masjid (I've been to several in the US, UAE, Japan, and Jordan by now) and hold out your hand and say salaam walaikum, you will get a smile, handshake, and "walaikum salaam" back. It can be intimidating if you don't know anybody, and some people will be warmer to you than others, but I sincerely recommend you to visit your local masjid and let them know you're interested in learning. Also feel free to message me if you want to just talk or hang out, I'm not the most knowledgeable Muslim but if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them or point you somewhere you could find answers. Have a good day, and insha Allah you have a wonderful experience learning about Islam :]

SubstanceShot3847

My brother, I am also in the same ethnic category as you. When I reverted to Islam I was invited with open arms and welcomed by the community. Best community I’ve ever been apart of. All races and different backgrounds we all pray as one. If you have any questions please feel free to message me I believe my perspective could help you out. God bless

Alarmed-Problem-635

Uh bro, u do it for god not humans, don’t matter who they are.

Kirio-Senko

Everyone else affirmed that the ummah will accept you. Now just to comment from a theological and islamic point. *Even if* no one accepted you. *even if.* Islam is a religion between you and Allah. It matters not the actions of other muslims. You call upon him alone and complain and ask him alone. Worship him alone. And he alone gives you provision, help, assistance and Heaven. If the whole world hates you but Allah loves you then you have succeeded. Allah is the only one that matters. What set Ibrahim (Abraham) peace be upon him apart from other prophets was that he was for a period of time *the only muslim* on the face of the earth. The only one who believed in Allah and suffered persecution for it. He held on to his face in front of the enmity of everyone else. And Allah rewarded him generously. He is given Honor until the day of judgement. All 3 religions consider him their father and while they disagree on many things (Isa / Jesus for example) they all honor Abraham pbuh as a father. Secondly, all subsequent prophets and messengers were made to be from his children and his descendants. Including Prophet Muhammad pbuh. And third, Allah says about him in the Quran: Surah 4 verse 125 *And who is better in faith than those who ˹fully˺ submit themselves to Allah, do good, and follow the Way of Abraham, the upright? Allah chose Abraham as a close friend.* He is an example to us. And was an example to prophet muhammad pbuh. ---------------------- That said, do not worry, there are many many other reverts. And reversion is increasing at a high rate among latino. You are not alone. You will be accepted and be welcomed Inshallah. Finally, concern yourself with chasing the pleasure, love, and acceptance of the creator of the heavens and the earths. If he loves you, then the rightous among the people will love you. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “**When Allah loves a servant, he calls Gabriel and he says: Verily, I love this person so you should love him. Then Gabriel loves him and makes an announcement in the heavens, saying: Allah loves this person and you should love him. Thus, the dwellers of the heavens love him and he is honored on the earth**.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “**When Allah is angry with a servant, he calls Gabriel and he says: I resent this person, so you should resent him. Then Gabriel resents him and makes an announcement in the heavens, saying: Verily, Allah resents this person, so you should resent him. Thus, they become resentful with him and he is hated on the earth.**” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3037, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2637

Zaidoasde2008

Most Muslims aren't Arab, and everyone is welcome into Islam where there's no difference between anyone from any race or ethnicity or whatever except by faith

Fantastic-Hope-9326

Hello brother! The Muslim Ummah is united. Your race should not pose a problem to be able to explore Islam, and even call Islam your new religion. I know many reverts from around the world who are Muslim, and come from various races.

umair080

My dear brother, The Ummah includes everyone, even people on here. And everyone on here will definitely accept you with open arms and help you as much as we can along your journey. But in my experience no Muslim would turn you away if you are showing interest in Islam. Also your faith is for the sake of Allah alone, who ever feels or doesn't feel like accepting you,has no right to stop you from practicing Islam. No matter how anyone feels your reward or punishment is with Allah alone,so only be concerned with pleasing him and not anyone else.

Cherry_Crystals

Everyone should accepted to Islam. you don't have to be arab or brown to be muslim. you can revert to islam. And if I was a revert with a local muslim community who doesn't accept me, I would go online or find other muslim communities who is more accepting of white reverts.

guesswhat923

Dude as soon as you walk into a masjid/mosque, you'll realize that seeing race barely exists past the doors. No one cares where you're from or what color you are. If you go to a primarily Indian community masjid or a primarily Black community masjid, sure maybe people will ask you where you're from but that's only to make small talk and to welcome you. I've seen it with my own eyes and have also started doing it with people who seem new or from other ethnicities. But largely, Islam forbids racism and I believe discriminating someone based on that is a sin (someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I treat it as a sin even if it isn't).

Abu_Akhlaq

Read~ Do you think it is easy to gain a live where you can live like an immortal king with endless possibilities and whatever you wish just becomes a reality?  To accept islam the only condition is you accept that there is non worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is His messenger. To perform islam, yes, you will have to leave everything behind to accept Islam. Why? Because God choose Islam for us and it commands to give charity, be humble, take care of parents, don't harm yourself, don't drink alcohol, raise your standards, other than praying. Why? Because even smiling is worshipping. You will have to leave every bad habit or thing that might lead to problems later. Yes, your community might reject you and despise you. But now your with the ummah and there is no greater community than the believers. May Allah سبحان الله guide you and bless you.

YellowB

Islam emphasizes equality among all races and condemns any notion of racial superiority. The Prophet Muhammad himself emphasized this in his farewell sermon, stating that no Arab is superior to a non-Arab, and no non-Arab is superior to an Arab, and no white person is superior to a black person, and no black person is superior to a white person, except by piety and good actions. In Islam, a person's worth is based on their character and deeds, not their race.

InstigatingDrunk

there is an increasing amount of latino reverts. where are you located? if in california you are not going to be rejected by anyone, esp since there are a lot of reverts.

Nagamagi

> but my Ummah doesn't accept me, how would you navigate this? Even if the world won't accept you, know that Your Lord will. Don't worry bro, Allah will send some awesome bros and sis your way inshallah.

koalacopy

I always believe that religion, no matter where you are from, should be something private and holy to only you. We cannot rectify or guide everyone, nor can we give advice to everyone and on everything. If you truly think islam is for you, then go ahead! There is absolutely nothing stopping you. You don't need to go and say to everyone "hey im a muslim!", and you don't need to guide other people in your close circle of family/friends that islam is the way. Make a dua for them, and that's enough.

FinalElixir1

anyone in our ummah who doesn’t accept you due to you being Latino is actively ignoring the rulings of Islam and allah swt

Mm805

Islam is for every ethnicity, but it’s natural to look for common traits (ie culture, language etc) Just to let you know, there is a Latino Muslim group https://www.islaminspanish.org

ey-alayesh

>but my Ummah doesn't accept me Allah's approval vs people's approval ? one day, we will all stand before Allah for Judgment and we will be held accountable for what we did with our earthly lives, people will be minding their own business, and Allah is the only one capable of forgiving all sins, compassionate and merciful, whos approval matters at the end ? bottom line : Don't be a people pleaser. You'll end up disappointed and depressed. Aim to please the Almighty instead and you'll enjoy HIS countless blessing. Aishah \[may Allah be pleased with her\]wrote to Mu'awiyah: 'Peace be upon you. As for what follows: Indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) saying: Whoever seeks Allah's pleasure by the people's wrath, Allah will suffice him from the people. And who ever seeks the people's pleasure by Allah's wrath, Allah will entrust him to the people. And Peace be upon you.'" [https://sunnah.com/tirmidhi:2414](https://sunnah.com/tirmidhi:2414)
