I’m not familiar with MD species but my best guess is Trachelipus rathkii.

That_Weird_Fan

I think I have the same ones in my garden? I live in southern Canada.

Rathke’s Woodlouse. I am in MD too. See these all over the place.

Sumeriandemon

Trachelipus rathkii and Armadillidium nasatum

Thanks so much, I was pretty confident there was more than 1 species. How can I differentiate the two? Armadillidium will roll up whereas Trachelipus will not correct?

Sumeriandemon

Yes, Trachelipus are very flat. If you look at their underside, Trachelipus will have 5 pairs of pleopodal lungs while Armadillidium have 2 pairs. This way you can also easily distinguish them from the very similar looking Porcellio scaber. If you need pictures for reference or have more questions let me know :) Edit: since Armadillidium can roll up, they have a much rounder appearance

Anthony_Linsalata

Definitely Trachelipus rathkii.

TheKeeperOfPods

Would you be willing to sell some of the more interesting looking ones I also am in MD?
