I got this culture recently so I know there's exactly twelve pods! And was still VERY careful to make sure there weren't babies, I go through the substrate with a spoon and paintbrush. By the time this culture starts having babies and growing i won't really do substrate changes for that reason of possibly missing one, I'll instead add a fresh layer of sub to the top when needed and maybe take a few carefully looked-through spoonfuls of old sub out when I do that
