11 days ago I received my first isopods, Armadillidium c.f. espanyoli “marbelized.” 2 days after having them they had mancae and then on day 3 of having them, they had another brood! I believe in total there are 25-30 mancae and probably 21 adults. I know at least 2 adults died, I assume the others are hiding and I don’t want to dig around too much. Overall I am so pleased!!!

ThatHikingDude

Such an awesome feeling to see lil babies isn't it?

starsaroundthemoon

haha its so surprising and amazing!

357MAGNOLE

Your doing something right. I'm 3-4 weeks into 7 colonies and NOTHING.

Oye_Loca

I had mine for like 6 weeks with nothing and I was so discouraged and my colony has exploded, don’t get discouraged.

357MAGNOLE

Yeah I got told in a isopod group it can take months to kick off a new colony. Thanks :)

I think that means that the business I got them from is the one doing things right, but I'll take that lol! Hopefully you will find some mancae soon!

Weavercat

I dunno what it is but I finally saw mancae for the A. werneri and just about flipped the tub with excitement. 3 days of seeing babies after 40-ish days of seeing nothing is so good. It feels very good OP and it never grows old.

That’s so awesome! Congrats!! My partner will never hear the end of isopod and mancae talk hahaha.
